1) Remember the game Red Rover that we used to play in elementary school? There would be two teams that faced each other from several yards apart. The first team would lock elbows and chant, "Red Rover, Red Rover, send "a player's name" right over. The opposing team, then sent the designated player running to break through the line. The first line of players must prevent the opponent from breaking through.
According to the Webster's Dictionary, naïve or credulous people who can be manipulated or exploited to advance a cause or political agenda are called useful idiots.
Independence Day 2021
This is Independence Day 2021 We are just going to have a "hi" and "bye" session today because - July 4, 2021.
Laura Beavers: That's right.
C. K. Williams: You know, I learned some really cool stuff about Independence Day 2021 today. So, what I learned today about Independence Day, or about some people on Independence Day, was that people like James Madison and a few other statesmen of that time, who were a big part of waging war against England, thought that July 2 should be Independence Day.
Laura Beavers: And why is that?
C. K. Williams: Well, that's actually when the Independence Declaration was signed and then ratified on the fourth day July. So, several of these men felt that July 2 should have been the day that we celebrate as Independence Day. James Madison and Thomas Jefferson, who were actually political rivals, believe it or not, (they butted heads quite frequently) but after there political careers, they actually became good acquaintances. Anyway, these two men thought that July 2 should be Independence Day. Oddly enough, both of those men died on July 4 - 50 years after this all came to be. Isn't that crazy?
Laura Beavers: That is crazy.
C. K. Williams: They died on the same day.
We Declared Independence
C. K. Williams: Now, here's something else I found out. You do realize why we declared Independence, right?
Laura Beavers: Right
C. K. Williams: The bottom line is that King George was very heavy-handed, if you will. He was taxing the colonies so badly that they couldn't make anything. It went against what everybody who came here, planned to do. King George just wanted extra territory. And the people who were wanted freedom. So, the tyrant, King George, when he got his fanny handed to him, during the War for Independence, after that the some of the colonies would have mock funerals for King George every year for Independence Day.
Laura Beavers: Now that's funny.
4th of July Celebrations
C. K. Williams: Yes it is. So, fourth of July celebrations, or celebrations of this kind have been going on for 2300 years. I didn't know this. Firecrackers in 200 B.C.! Who would've thought it? After we won the war, gun-ships would fire thirteen-gunshots, one for each of the thirteen colonies, here in the United States.
I think our listeners want to get back to what they were doing. After all, it is Independence Day. It is Independence Day, isn't it?
Laura Beavers: It is.
C. K. Williams: There were a lot of fireworks out there last night, wasn't there?
Laura Beavers: There was.
C. K. Williams: I some some a little while ago. They going off in every direction - North, South, East, and West, I saw fireworks going off everywhere.
Be Safe this Independence Day
C. K. Williams: I hope nobody catches any barns on fire this year, or launches any bottle rockets in the wrong direction. What my sister and I did as kids, we shot bottle rockets at each other. I did shoot one at her.
It bounced off the street and it caught her hair on fire. It was really kind of a surprise. I wasn't supposed to do that. I'm only saying be careful with your bottle rockets. No, me and my sister don't shoot bottle rockets at each other anymore.
But, anyway, stay safe for the holiday. I understand that some people will be out of school, or off work or whatever tomorrow so, watch yourself. Be careful if you're out on the roads. Don't be acting crazy, riding around with open containers.
Laura Beaver's Birthday
And one more thing, tomorrow is July 5 and that just happens to be Laura Beaver's fifth birthday. We are so proud of our little girl. Happy birthday, tomorrow. Happy birthday!

About the Book
What do you want to know about the book? Well. Do you want to know the why or the what Okay, why I'm writing the book. Well, to be honest, I did not want to write the book but, my mother has been on me for the better part of twenty years to write my book. I don't know why she had the idea that I should write my book. She thought I should write my book about my life. I could not figure out why she thought I should write a book, especially about my own life. Her rationale was that my life was interesting.
About the Book: I'm no Author
Now, if you're going to write about your own life for crying out loud, you at least need to be somebody famous, right? I mean that's what I thought. She stayed home for a long time to write my book and I fought it for a long time. I tried to write it several times but, then I find myself wadding it up and throwing it in the garbage. But, you know, I spent most of my life writing poems and songs. Two or three verses, of course, and a bridge - I can do that easily. I could do that before this episode over. But, when it gets past three or four versus I get lost.
Talking About the Book With My Counselor
Aside from my mom, talking to me about it, I had a counselor at the VA that I'm talking to and I was complaining to her about my mom, trying to get me to write this book. Yeah, she was probably the wrong person to complain to because apparently, she thought I need to write the book. And the way she said it, I really took that kind of seriously, So anyway, I decided that I would try to write a book based on more of what my counselor told me to my mom, just telling me to write the book and so I went in and started trying to write not knowing how I want to write it. I've been trying to figure out how to write it.
Deciding on a Genre
I considered writing it as an autobiography. That's going to take so much for research. Did you know you have to research your own life? Yes. that's a lot of work, you know. Then, I looked at maybe doing it as a, what do they call it? you know, it's not really nonfiction, not fiction, but based on actual events. But anyway, I was looking at different things about how to write a book. How do you decide what type of book it should be? You know, this is not my wheel house. I don't know anything about writing books at all. That's what Lynn Sheldon said when I interviewed him. He said he did not like writing. He said he was terrible at writing and now he's got to think eight or nine. I don't remember how many books he's written.
What to put in the Book
The hard part I'm having is now trying to figure out what I want to put it in. But, what is difficult? Because obviously about my life. And you know, I know everybody has a life but you know, there are some things that I just don't want people to know because you know, I tell them that means I had to talk about it off and I like talking about a lot of I justassumed to be happy-go-lucky tell jokes you know have a good time. Make you laugh I'm good. Who cares what happened?
That's the way I looked at it off but what my counsel got onto me my VA counselor. When she got onto me it was because Apparently a lot of this stuff that he had heard me talking about but you should listen to me obviously. But a lot of the things that I talked about he actually said that would help a lot of people. Okay, now she's got my attention.
And there's my mom telling me my life was interesting. Didn't get my pension. Of the what for the Y. I guess the why is because people ask me to write my book and this counselor just happened to say my book my story, but possibly help somebody else. And I don't know if she knew that would push the right button but that's what I like to do is help people when she said that got my attention, the cost started writing a book. I know it's hard for some people.
How do I write the book?
The standard of morality, especially in the United States, has all but vanished in recent years and I want to share a few of my observations.

C. K. Williams: Our special guest today, Lynn Sheldon: Godfire R. D. O. (Revival and Discipleship Outreach). How are you doing today Lynn?
Lynn Sheldon: I am doing well, thank you.
C. K. Williams: I'm glad to have you on the show. You're actually my 3rd guest on the show and it's always exciting to have a guest. You have got an amazing ministry; you have been working on. First, tell us about your background, leading you up to this point.
Lynn Sheldon: Personal Background
Lynn Sheldon: I come from the Midwest and my job eventually took me to the South and I love the South. Although I love the Midwest, their taxes are too high so I stay in the South. My background is broadcasting I. Went to Northwest Missouri State University and got my degree there in broadcasting.
However, I worked for 47 years in broadcast sales. I put in thirty years at one station here in the South, but during this time God gave me a ministry to start and so we have. It's called God Fire revival and discipleship outreach. Now to give you a little bit about my Christian background.
Lynn Sheldon: Christian Testimony
Lynn Sheldon: I became a Christian in 1985. And it was really interesting how that happened. I was working out of Missouri at a broadcast network there and I was coming home from a meeting in Saint Louis. We were living in Jefferson City at the time and I always listen to Christian radio.
I attended church and I thought I was a Christian, but I found out later that attending church doesn't make you a Christian. But I always listen to Christian radio. Because I enjoyed talk radio, I listened to Christian radio. It was the only talk radio you could get as far as to talk in those days, right?
So, I Was listening to this particular pastor and he started talking about the darkness in our hearts. And it so moved me that I pulled off to the side of the road and just wept. cause I realized I wasn't a good person. I had a lot of darkness in my heart. I don't know what that meant other than the Holy Spirit started to draw me then. But I didn't know what to do with it. so, I went home.
Lynn Sheldon: Getting the Message
I've been searching Psalm 91, which is still my favorite song. Something in Psalm 91 told me I needed to move from Jefferson City to elsewhere. Now, I couldn't tell you what was there that made me think this. Anyway, I took a job in Shreveport. Thankfully, I found another job six months later. The people were nice, I just could never figure out if I was in Shreveport or Bosier. It was one of those places that are just difficult to get around.
I arrived there about 4:00 in the afternoon or so, driving from Jeff City. And to my surprise, a gentleman who I had been in competition with I guess for sales manager he got the job but I didn't. He was a friend of mine. A good friend of mine and I didn't realize he was going after the job too, but thank God, he got it and I didn't. But anyway, that's another story.
Lynn Sheldon: Led to Christ
Lynn Sheldon: We sat there and talked for a little bit and then he took called me back to his office. And he closed the door. And we talked radio. What it's all about and stuff like this. But then he said Lynn, are you a Christian? And I said, Chuck. I think so. I teach Sunday school and I go to church.
He said, "yes, but do you have a relationship with Jesus Christ?"
And I said, " don't even know what you're talking about there."
He shared the gospel with me and led me to Christ. A few days later. I pulled up my Bible and looked at Psalm 91 again. And I couldn't believe it. I said you got to be kidding. Remember when I said I wasn't sure what it said, but I thought I had to move right?
C. K. Williams: That's right.
Lynn Sheldon: Understanding the Word
Lynn Sheldon: You're not going to believe this. Psalm 91 says I will flee you from the Fowler. Right? That's what it says.
Today is May 31, 2021, and this is Memorial Day. In Episode 17, Memorial Day 2021, is the US Code.
Two weeks from now it will be Memorial Day, 2021. This one day was set aside as a national holiday to commemorate all of Americas soldiers that were killed in combat. Certainly, there will be family and friends gathering together to barbecue and socialize. It is a holiday, after all. One long held tradition is to visit war memorials, museums, and even cemeteries.
Talking about S.L.O.P. is a revelation I received from God about simplifying and prioritizing my obligations.
June 25th marks the third anniversary of Latter Rain Ministry and I deserve none of the credit for that at all. Truth be told, I have spent the better part of two of those years wanting to throw in the towel. I have struggled mainly with my lack of experience and resources. But, the one thing that has grieved me above all else has been the people in my life.
This episode "Make America God's Again", explains that the entire world is finally able to see the evil in our nations capital and why.
