I am not your run of the mill entrepreneur, I wasn’t born into wealth or poverty and driven by fear. I am one who desires and dreams and knows 100% that working until 70 is not a life I want to live. And so begins my journey to early retirement and everything it requires. Join me on my honest journey as I pursue a life rich in freedom and choices. On this journey I want to share with you the good, the bad and the ugly. You will hear the truth and I promise to share with you everything I’m doing, what I’m learning and what impact it is having on my dreams and the dreams of others around me.
Short and sweet, do what makes you happy. When it comes to building a business, if you want to wake up each day happy, and excited to work on building and developing your business, it’s got to be something you enjoy doing. Check out this podcast to hear about a conversation I had with a man in his early 40’s who felt stuck trying to educate and help a market he didn’t really like.
A title most wouldn’t dare bear, I quite like the term “lazy entrepreneur’ simply because of the way I think about it. What’s the quickest way to succeed at something? Follow and implement what’s been done before. If you try to figure something out by yourself, you’ll take a long time learning a lot of mistakes and you might even end up giving up before you make it. Yet if you follow a done-for-you plan, that’s been proven to work for 1000’s if not millions of people, surely you’re guaranteed to succeed as long as you do what’s required. This isn’t necessarily lazy by any means, but finding “shortcuts” like this are just logical.
In the last 12 months I came to realise that truly being independent of others and relying solely on myself to build a business and succeed might not be as fun as I thought it would. But what I came to realise was that I wasn’t doing something that excited me, or lit a fire in my belly. As an entrepreneur you have the choice to wake up whenever you want, but you sacrifice time. Time is precious and incredibly valuable when it comes to building a business. But what if you’re like me and don’t want to spend 14 hours a day working. Well, follow me on my journey as find the path of least resistance and greatest reward. I should call myself “the lazy entrepreneur”
Do you want to make more money, have complete control of your time and be able to do whatever you want to do? Sweet, me too! And this is where it all begins. As I document my transition from a full-time personal trainer working 75 hour weeks, burning the candle at both ends, turned digital marketing agency owner who recently realised he just created another job that he dislikes, I find a brilliant opportunity that actually teaches me how to set up a business that’s designed to work and make money all without huge upfront costs and requiring countless hours of work. Sounds far fetched, but it turns out there are business geniuses out there that actually create such miracles to make our lives easier. In an ironic turn of events, I decided to start research marketers related to one of my all time favourites, and stumbled upon this opportunity. As a result, I now have this awesome business that will actually give me time and money and won’t become yet another job. Stay tuned as I share my everyday journey with you from my current situation to turning my dreams into reality, and hopefully inspiring you to do the same.
