As we come to the Lord, He will minister healing to us by His Word, Spirit and through His body of believers. Because the Lord is love, He heals us when we come to Him. He loves us back to wholeness.Jesus paid the price and shed His precious blood for our total well-being. No matter the ailment, God will heal us and make us whole, restoring all that’s been lost. When we hurt, we must not forget that God says, “I am the Lord that healeth thee.”
Although many Israelites rejected Jesus as their Messiah, Paul did not lose hope. He saw God’s acceptance of the Gentiles by grace as part of a larger strategy to save Israel (v. 14). We can draw two important lessons from God’s mysterious plan for Israel.
El crecimiento espiritual es el proceso de volverse más y más como Jesucristo. Cuando ponemos nuestra fe en Jesús, el Espíritu Santo comienza el proceso de hacernos más como Jesús, conformándonos a Su imagen. El crecimiento espiritual quizá está mejor descrito en 2 Pedro 1:3-8, donde se nos dice que mediante el poder de Dios “todas las cosas…nos han sido dadas” para vivir una vida de piedad, la cual es el objetivo del crecimiento espiritual. Nota que lo que necesitamos viene “mediante el conocimiento de Aquel”, lo cual es la clave para obtener lo que necesitamos. Nuestro conocimiento de Él viene de la Palabra de Dios, que nos ha sido dada para nuestra edificación y crecimiento.
Vivimos en un mundo de individualismo y soledad en el que cada quien busca lo suyo. No importa si alguien más sufre, con tal de conseguir nuestro propio “bienestar”. Vemos, por ejemplo, políticos que no se interesan por lo que le sucede al pueblo, mientras ellos anden en sus carros de lujo y tengan grandes mansiones y dinero. Ese es solamente un ejemplo de los tantos casos que podemos ver en el mundo.

A veces ponemos nuestras preocupaciones e incertidumbres sobre el mañana antes que nuestra confianza en Dios. Debemos recordar que cada día tiene sus propios problemas. Nuestro Dios es el Dios del tiempo y todo está bajo su control. Si él cuida de los lirios del campo, ¿cómo no cuidará de nosotros? (Mateo 6:28-34)
La oración es fundamental para el creyente. Y la verdadera oración debe ser desinteresada. Solemos tener la tendencia a orar por mi situación, mi familia, mis problemas, mis deseos, mi crecimiento, mi enfermedad, etc. Sin embargo, debemos levantar nuestra vista y ver más allá de nosotros mismos. Hermano, no te preocupes tanto de ti, mira a tu alrededor y pide por tu hermano, por tu iglesia, por los escogidos de Dios. La vida espiritual que tenemos en Cristo no se trata de ti únicamente. Se trata de Dios y los Suyos. El creyente verdadero orará además de por sí mismo, por la Iglesia del Señor.
Hebrews 5:8–10 says, “Son though he was, [Jesus] learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek.” As with any passage, context is essential for understanding these verses.
The entire epistle explains to the Hebrews their own Scriptures. The writer takes them from what they knew—the Old Testament, especially the Law of Moses—to what they had not known until now, the revelation of how Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament and brought them into a New Covenant with God (Hebrews 8:1–13; 9:15). The context of chapters 4 through 10 explains how the Levitical priesthood and temple are no longer on earth but in heaven and how Jesus serves as our perfect, final, and eternal high priest.
First of all, we should remember to seek the Lord early each day. Every morning, let’s be mindful that the day is a gift from God, and we are alive on this earth for a reason. At the start of every day, we should re-submit our will to His in order to fulfill our purpose. “This is the day the LORD has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).
Psalm 29:2 (NKJV) - Give unto the LORD the glory due to His name; Worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
Christ made prayer a central component of his ministry. We know it’s important, but why? The Bible gives us a fascinating picture of what prayer does in our lives and in the world around us. Hebrews 4:16 says that by prayer we may “receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” But the necessity for prayer goes beyond times of need
Before Jesus ascended to heaven, He told His disciples that He would send one who would teach and guide all those who believe in Him (Acts 1:5; John 14:26; 16:7). Jesus’ promise was fulfilled less than two weeks later when the Holy Spirit came in power on the believers at Pentecost (Acts 2). Now, when a person believes in Christ, the Holy Spirit immediately becomes a permanent part of his life (Romans 8:14; 1 Corinthians 12:13).
The Holy Spirit has many functions. Not only does He distribute spiritual gifts according to His will (1 Corinthians 12:7–11), but He also comforts us (John 14:16, KJV), teaches us (John 14:26), and remains in us as a seal of promise upon our hearts until the day of Jesus’ return (Ephesians 1:13; 4:30). The Holy Spirit also takes on the role of Guide and Counselor, leading us in the way we should go and revealing God’s truth (Luke 12:12; 1 Corinthians 2:6–10).
How Parents Can Raise a Good Child
Nurture Empathy.
Encourage Them.
Teach Them to Volunteer.
Offer Rewards Sparingly.
Teach Good Manners.
Treat Them With Respect.
Discipline Consistently.
Teach Thankfulness.
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Generosity is a lifestyle that gives freely and lives openhandedly. Generosity is the amount beyond the first tenth you give to your church. I can assure you that generosity is better than greed. Greed is an insatiable desire for more. Greed is about grasping, craving, acquiring and hoarding, while generosity is about giving, charity, blessing and handing.
Greed is Not Godly
Christians ignore and mock God’s Word when they do not honor God with giving at least the first tenth of their entire income to their local church. They try to rationalize or even justify it, and some even attempt to explain it away biblically. I have never discovered anyone who practices tithing and generosity try to explain why tithing and generosity are not biblical. Somehow, we must grow in our faith enough to understand that when we do not give biblically by both tithing and practicing generosity, we are not walking in godliness. Greed is not godly.
Jesus is the only way to heaven. Such an exclusive statement may confuse, surprise, or even offend, but it is true nonetheless. The Bible teaches that there is no other way to salvation than through Jesus Christ. Jesus Himself says in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” He is not a way, as in one of many; He is the way, as in the one and only. No one, regardless of reputation, achievement, special knowledge, or personal holiness, can come to God the Father except through Jesus.
Según la Biblia, Dios es la fuente primordial de toda sabiduría, pues sus enseñanzas “son la fuente de la sabiduría, y ella nos enseña a obedecer sus mandamientos eternos” (Eclesiástico, I: 5). No hay argumento que detenga la Fe en su marcha. La Fe se para cuando alcanza y conquista.
En muchos momentos de su historia, el pueblo de Dios se encontró sin rumbo y sin camino, en desconcierto y abandono total, esto por falta de verdaderos pastores. El ministerio de Jesús y su enorme compasión por las multitudes resulta muy instructivo, especialmente si recordamos que en aquellos días los síntomas de la religiosidad judía parecían indicar que esta era benéfica para las multitudes. Existían diversos grupos religiosos, grandes multitudes acudían a las celebraciones litúrgicas anuales, en el templo se ofrecían diariamente muchísimos sacrificios y ofrendas, y un considerable número de gentiles o paganos asistía semanalmente a las sinagogas para oír la Palabra de Dios

DECLARACIÓN DE FE PARA LA BIBLIA GATEWAY
Doctrina de las Escrituras. La Biblia es la revelación única de Dios para la humanidad, la Palabra de Dios inspirada e infalible. Como tal, es la autoridad suprema y final y sin error en lo que enseña y afirma. No hay otros escritos con tal autoridad divina.
Doctrina de Dios Solo hay un Dios verdadero. Él existe eternamente como tres personas: Padre, Hijo y Espíritu Santo, cada uno completamente Dios y cada uno personalmente distinto del otro. Dios es el creador de todo.
Doctrina del pecado. Todos, independientemente de su raza, género, clase social o capacidad intelectual, son creados a imagen de Dios y para la comunión con Dios. Pero debido al pecado, esa comunión se rompió y toda la humanidad se separó de Dios, la fuente de toda vida. Debido a la caída, todos merecen el juicio de Dios.
Doctrina de Salvación. Jesucristo es el camino, la verdad y la vida, y Dios da salvación y vida eterna a quienes confían en él. La salvación no se puede obtener a través de la bondad personal o el esfuerzo humano. Es un regalo que se recibe por arrepentimiento y fe en Cristo y su muerte en la cruz y resurrección de la tumba.
Doctrina de Cristo Jesucristo, la segunda persona de la Trinidad, fue concebido por el Espíritu Santo, nacido de la Virgen María: era Dios en carne humana. Vivió una vida humana sin pecado, pero voluntariamente asumió nuestros pecados al morir en nuestro lugar y en nuestro nombre. Se levantó corporalmente, victorioso sobre la muerte. Ascendió al cielo y está a la diestra del Padre como defensor y mediador del creyente. Algún día volverá a la historia consumada y cumplirá el plan eterno de Dios.
Doctrina del Espíritu Santo. El Espíritu Santo, la tercera persona de la Trinidad, condena al mundo del pecado y da nueva vida a los que confían en Jesús. Él mora en todos los creyentes y está disponible para capacitarlos para llevar una vida como la de Cristo. El Espíritu les da dones espirituales para servir a los demás creyentes y llegar a un mundo perdido y necesitado.
Doctrina del juicio. En el juicio final, los incrédulos serán separados de Dios para ser condenados. Los creyentes serán recibidos en la amorosa presencia de Dios.
Doctrina de la Iglesia. Todos los creyentes son miembros del cuerpo de Cristo, la única iglesia verdadera universal. La unidad espiritual se debe expresar entre los cristianos mediante la aceptación y el amor mutuo a través de líneas étnicas, culturales, socioeconómicas, nacionales, generacionales, de género y denominacionales. La iglesia local es un grupo de creyentes que se reúnen para el culto, la oración, la instrucción, el aliento, la responsabilidad mutua, la comunidad entre ellos y como testigos del mundo.
El cristiano, en medio de las mayores adversidades, puede echar toda su ansiedad sobre el Señor, pues Él tiene cuidado de nosotros. Con confianza, seguridad y paz, puede decir: “Porque Él me esconderá en su tabernáculo en el día del mal; me ocultará en lo reservado de su morada; sobre una roca me pondrá en alto.” (Sal. 27:5).
Confiar en Dios es estar totalmente seguro de que uno va a recibir lo que espera. Es estar convencido de que algo existe, aun cuando no se pueda ver. 2 Dios aceptó a nuestros antepasados porque ellos confiaron en él. 3 Y nosotros creemos que Dios creó el universo con una sola orden suya. Lo que ahora vemos fue hecho de cosas que no podían verse. 4 Abel confió en Dios, y por eso le ofreció un sacrificio mejor que el de Caín. Por eso Dios consideró que Abel era justo, y aceptó sus ofrendas. Y aunque Abel ya está muerto, todavía podemos aprender mucho de la confianza que él tuvo en Dios.
The Importance of Truth. Truth matters, both to us as individuals and to society as a whole. As individuals, being truthful means that we can grow and mature, learning from our mistakes. For society, truthfulness makes social bonds, and lying and hypocrisy break them.
There is a lot of selfless giving going on in the world today. People are donating their time and resources to those who are down and destitute. It warms your heart to see all of the acts of kindness going on. One famous chef provided over three million meals in one week to those who have lost their jobs and are struggling. Jesus told us to show compassion to those who need it. Don’t just go through the motions. Show you care.
The world is shrinking. Have you noticed?
I’m not saying the world is getting physically smaller, but think about it: in an instant, thanks to technological advances, you can Skype with a friend on the other side of the planet. We carry phones that allow people to reach us virtually anytime, anywhere. With a few clicks on a keyboard, we have immediate access to all sorts of information. With email, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr, Vine, MySpace, Blogger, and…well…any number of other social media platforms, we are able to keep up-to-date with all the latest happenings in the lives of our family and friends.
To deal with your burdens and problems. In the Bible, Jesus carried a cross that has come to be symbolic of the world's problems. Therefore, when people carry their own crosses, they are dealing with their own burdens.
The word "Prince" is translated from the Greek archegos, which is translated "author" or "captain" in Hebrews 2:10. But here, Jesus Christ is called "the archegos of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses." In this context, the word has the sense of being "originator," someone who starts or begins something. An archegos is one who leads the way so that others may follow. It can also be translated "trailblazer," "scout," or "pioneer," and so it indicates one who leads into battle, blazes a trail, sets a pattern, one who initiates and guides. In the Daily Study Bible series commentary by William Barclay, he uses the illustration of a ship foundering on a rock. Someone jumps overboard with a rope and swims ashore, securing the line somewhere on the shore so that others are able to grab onto the rope and come to safety. The one who did it originally is an archegos. He fulfilled the role of an archegos. That is what Christ is. He is saving us from the jagged rock, from the loss of our hope of eternal life. That is His job. He is leading and guiding us to the safety of actually being in the

God’s Plan of Salvation Bible Verses – Hope from God

Understanding God’s Grace and Freedom for Us
We believe our greatest HOPE comes when we know we are loved and our future is secure. This is the story of the Bible. God loves you and has prepared a place in heaven for you. And you can receive the gift of salvation by believing in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. There is great freedom in accepting the gift of salvation because there is nothing you can do to earn your way to heaven. Jesus gives it freely to all who believe in him. The God of the universe humbled himself to death on a cross to pay the price for all our sins. Why would he do this? Because he wants a relationship with you eternally. You are that important!
1 Peter 3:18-22 "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
Even though we don’t know exactly what is ahead as we prepare for the new year, here are some redemptive ways we can move forward and fulfill what God has for us. Enter the New Year free of any spiritual baggage. The first thing is to let go of the baggage of the past. Release your grip upon any old hurts, wounds, or disappointments. They can bring with them the weights of bitterness, resentment, and unforgiveness. These are the things that your soul can not afford to lug around for another year. The next thing is not to pick up the baggage of the future. God does not want you weighed down with cares, anxiety, and worry. Live each day, moment by moment, in the sufficiency of His grace, and trust Him in all things for tomorrow’s needs.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” -Jeremiah 29:11
Este pasaje contiene una de las más promesas de Dios más maravillosas y más citadas sobre Sus planes de futuro para nuestras vidas. Pero a su alrededor había falsos profetas como Jananías. Jeremías era un verdadero profeta que escuchó la palabra del Señor: «Un profeta que anuncia paz se le reconoce como profeta verdaderamente enviado por el Señor solo si se cumplen sus palabras» (28:9). Las predicciones de Jananías no se cumplieron porque el Señor no lo había enviado (v.15). Las profecías de Jeremías sí que se cumplieron. El pueblo de Dios marchó al exilio como él les había advertido. Jeremías anuncia el mensaje del Señor a su pueblo en el exilio. Les dice: «Busquen el bienestar de la ciudad adonde los he deportado, y pidan al Señor por ella, porque el bienestar de ustedes depende del bienestar de la ciudad» (29:7).
Jesús va a regresar; su segunda venida es lo más importante que hay que saber acerca del futuro. Es algo que cambia todo acerca de cómo vivir tu vida ahora e infunde esperanza a cada momento del presente. Nadie sabe exactamente cuándo ocurrirá; por eso, vive cada día como si él fuera a regresar hoy, haciendo aquello que él querría que estuvieras haciendo. Pablo comienza su carta diciendo: «Que Dios el Padre y el Señor Jesucristo les concedan gracia y paz» (v.2). Da gracias a Dios por el crecimiento de ellos: «Debemos dar gracias a Dios por ustedes, como es justo, porque su fe se acrecienta cada vez más, y en cada uno de ustedes sigue abundando el amor hacia los otros. Así que nos sentimos orgullosos de ustedes» (vv.3-4).
Dios es el único que verdaderamente conoce el futuro al ser quien tiene en Sus manos el pasado, presente y futuro. Gran parte de este está oculto a nuestros ojos. Pero hay ciertas cosas acerca del futuro que Dios te cuenta.
I believe Christmas is all about love, and the grace that love creates. God brought us the gift of grace, undeserving forgiveness and the opportunity for each of us to live a holy life.
So we celebrate God appearing with grace, and that great gift requires a response from each of us, answers to questions.
God could have sat on his throne in his glory while we struggled, but he gave up his glory and came to visit us.
La alegría más auténtica está en la relación con Él, encontrado, seguido, conocido y amado gracias a una continua tensión de la mente y el corazón»[4].

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
The will of God, divine will, or God's plan is the concept of a God having a plan for humanity. Ascribing a volition or a plan to a God generally implies a personal God (God regarded as a person with mind, emotions, will).Our past has changed, because, in God's eyes, we have no past, only a great future. In Jeremiah 29:11, He says: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Have you ever received a gift that far exceeded what you could have expected? Something so nice that just saying “thank you” seemed inadequate? If anything, you feel like you want to do something special for that person, to show your appreciation. In the same way, when you consider all that Christ did for us on the cross and what He continues to do for us today, it feels so inadequate to simply tell Him, “Thank you.” He has given us eternal life when we didn’t deserve it. And if you look back at the last year, I’m sure you’ll find countless things He has done in your life. In fact, it’s hard not to say, “Wow, God is great! How can I thank Him for everything He has done for me? What can I possibly do to show my appreciation to Him?”
Often when things don’t seem to go right in this life, we start feeling like we’ve been left on our own. Pressures surround, troubles cling, we may be facing huge loss, or we find ourselves in long seasons of waiting.
God’s timing seems off. We start feeling alone, forgotten, defeated, filled with doubt. “If God was really with us, then why did that happen?” “If God was really with us, then why hasn’t He come through?” “If God was really with me, then why am I hurting?” God never promised that our way would always be “easy,” or that His Presence with us meant a life of convenience or comfort. But He did promise this, over and over in His word: that He would be “with us” in it all, and would never leave us.

The Bible is filled with the promises of God. From Genesis to Revelation we read of normal people that received the promises of God. These promises are sealed by the highest authority, God's word. In Hebrews 6:13 it says, "For when God made a promise to Abraham since he had no one greater by whom to swear, he swore by himself." When God makes a promise to his people, it will come to pass. What is a promise? A promise is a covenant or declaration that one will do exactly what they say or something will happen just as pledged.
“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us). Mathew 1:23

Por qué la apatía en estas fechas? , ¿Por qué el desagrado de lo que te rodea?, no hace falta mas que solo recordar para alegrarte esta Navidad. Recuerda hace unas Navidades, cuando el frío congelaba tu corazón. Recuerda hace unas Navidades cuando solo anhelabas un poco de paz cómo regalo de Navidad.
Es posible que Cristo nazca en la vida de los hombres, y cuando esa experiencia tiene lugar, se dice que tal hombre es “en Cristo”, es decir, que Cristo se ha “formado” en él. Ello presupone que aceptemos a Cristo en nuestro corazón y que hagamos de Él nuestro compañero constante en la vida. Cristo no es solo una verdad general ni un hecho histórico, sino que es el Salvador de los hombres en todo lugar y en todo momento.

Gratitude is a warm feeling of thankfulness towards the world, or towards specific individuals. The person who feels gratitude is thankful for what they have, and does not constantly seek more.
We believe in one living and true God who is the Creator of heaven and earth; who is eternal, almighty, unchangeable, infinitely powerful, wise, just and holy. We believe that the one God eternally exists in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; and that these three are one God, co-equal and co-eternal, having precisely the same nature and attributes, and worthy of precisely the same worship, confidence, and obedience.
Rather, God is in some third kind of relation to time. One in-between position is that God is not within our time, but he is within his own time. In this view, God's inner life is sequential and, therefore, temporal, but his relation to our temporal sequence is “all at once.” In a sense, God has his own time line.

This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. This is the one who came by water and blood--Jesus Christ.
In the third petition of the Lord’s prayer, Jesus instructs us to pray for God’s will to be done. This request flows from the petition for God’s kingdom to come, for the Lord’s kingdom is present where we find righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Rom. 14:17). Such fruits are possible only as we do the will of God.
One reason we know God hears our prayers is because He has promised to hear them! Even if He doesn’t always answer the way we think He should, He still hears us. The Psalmist declared, “As for me, I call to God … and he hears my voice” (Psalm 55:16-17). Why then, does God sometimes seem deaf to our prayers? One reason may be because we’ve allowed sin to take root in our hearts—and sin always cuts us off from God. It may be anger, or hatred, or prejudice, or an unclean habit, or anything else that we’ve allowed to pollute our souls. This is why we need to make sure we’ve given our lives to Jesus Christ, because He came into the world to cleanse us of our sins. Have you given your life to Him?

I have called upon You, for You will hear me, O God; incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech. You may or may not have heard that God hears our prayers. It’s true. In this verse God is asked to incline His ear and to hear the speech of the psalmist. Calling upon God is an act of dependence upon Him out of sense of need. What we are actually doing when we call upon God is saying we are dependent upon your hearing and acting on what we need or desire. Calling upon God is an act of worship. We are saying, “O God, how mighty You are. Hear my prayer O God for You are able.” “Oh, give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples!” (Psalm 105:1 NKJV) When we set our hearts and minds on God, knowing and trusting in Him to provide for everything, we are offering up a sacrifice of praise that God will receive and accept and return abundance back to us. “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us”. (Ephesians 3:20 NKJV)
Ask any Christian what the most difficult part of his or her faith is, and that Christian will likely say “Prayer.” This Christian concurs. It feels more productive and important to be doing … something … anything with my hands. Besides cleaning toilets, literally any task seems more worthwhile than having what feels like a one-sided conversation. What I forget is that prayer is not a one-sided conversation (unless I make it so). I forget that, in prayer, I’m conversing with the God of the universe. The God who saved my soul. The God who can help me in all my distresses. The God who is worthy to be praised.
Confess your sins to each other when you pray (James 5:16). Quick, trite or repetitive prayers do not reveal what is really going on in your heart. Wordsmith your prayers much like you would any other conversation. If you said the same thing over and over again to your spouse, your marriage would grow stale and shallow. The same is true of your prayers. Keep them fresh, and take your time to say what needs to be said.
We can use prayer as a way of opening our hearts to God, not as a being living in an extra-dimensional heaven, but as the wellspring of creative energy within us and the universe. By quieting our minds, we can open ourselves to experience this divine ground directly.

In these instances, such as with Isaac, Moses, Samuel, and Job, the act of praying is a method of changing a situation for the better.

People will say, “I don’t think you should be talking about the pursuit of joy. I think you should be talking about serving Jesus and obeying Jesus.” I say, “What Bible do you read?” “Serve the Lord with gladness!” Serve the Lord with gladness! This is not rocket science. This is clear! Serve the Lord with gladness! There is a kind of service he doesn’t like: murmuring service, bored service, and glum service. Serve the Lord with gladness. This is biblical! Are we a biblical people, or do we just get our truths from our emotions or non-emotions?
This world may be uncertain, unstable and always changing but our God is not. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. People are going to disappoint us and let us down. But God does not change. He is rock solid. His promises are reliable. His word stands true for eternity and his love endures forever. We can trust God when the future seems uncertain because God is consistent and constant. He is the unchanging one. No matter what happens tomorrow or the next day, he will not change. His Word was sure a thousand years ago and it will be sure for the next thousand.

In Matthew 6:24, Jesus says we cannot love both God and money. Each is a powerful master and motivator. But we can prove which one comes first in our heart through the following actions.

I’ve been on a number of mountaintops in the US in my time, and I can tell you that not much grows up there. The summits of mountains are bare rock and lichen. That’s not where you would normally find an abundance of grain. But Solomon, who wrote Psalm 72, asked God for “an abundance of grain . . . on the top of the mountains,” to characterize his reign as king. If grain on the mountain is so unusual, what is Solomon suggesting? That God’s power can produce results in even the most unpromising soil?

What To Do (and Not Do) When You’re Feeling Spiritually Numb

If you haven’t been here, you will be. It’s just a part of the ebb and flow of life. At some point we find ourselves feeling a bit disenchanted. A bit distanced. A bit…apathetic. We don’t want to read our Bibles. We don’t want to go to church. We don’t want to talk to God. We’re just kind of numb. If you’re in this place, or someone close to you is, here are a few helpful things and some not-helpful things to remember in this season.

- REMEMBER WHAT IS TRUE REGARDLESS OF YOUR BEHAVIOR OR FEELINGS.
When we feel apathetic or numb in our spiritual lives, it’s important that we continue to have a foundation of truth. This protects us from all kinds of lies that will spill into our lives in these seasons. If you have trusted Jesus for your salvation and your life, then you are righteous, holy, fully accepted, eternally loved, and a beloved son or daughter. That’s true when you feel like it and when you don’t. It’s true when you’re “doing all the right things” and when you’re not. Your identity doesn’t change with your seasons.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17
In John's Gospel, the phrase is attributed to Jesus speaking with the Samaritan woman whom he meets at Jacob's Well in Sychar: "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water" (John 4:10).
We may be familiar with the phrase “witnessing for Christ,” but do we know why we should witness for the Lord and how we should do it? Witnessing for Christ means simply telling others what we have personally seen and experienced of the Lord Jesus. When we received Him as our Savior, our first reaction might have been to tell our best friend all about our salvation, that is, to witness to them of Christ. This is what Philip did in John 1:45. Immediately after he met the Lord, he found Nathaniel and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, wrote, Jesus, the son of Joseph, from Nazareth.” To tell others about Christ in this way is to witness for Him.
The LORD will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The LORD your God will bless you in the land he is giving you. ... The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. Remember, apart from God we cannot do anything
Jesus taught, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6). Though none of us are perfect, we can all look to the life of Jesus Christ as an example of what we should strive for.
My brothers, show no partiality as you hold the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory. For if a man wearing a gold ring and fine clothing comes into your assembly, and a poor man in shabby clothing also comes in, and if you pay attention to the one who wears the fine clothing and say, “You sit here in a good place,” while you say to the poor man, “You stand over there,” or, “Sit down at my feet,” have you not then made distinctions among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts? Listen, my beloved brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom, which he has promised to those who love him? ...Jame 2:1-26

Aunque la tentación de claudicar en nuestra postura amenaza a todo creyente, no tenemos que ceder ante ella. El primer paso para combatir esta situación es entender por qué es tan tentadora. Es fácil ceder ante la presión de los demás para que tomemos parte en lo que sabemos que Dios ha prohibido, pues es natural querer evitar el rechazo. Pero cualquiera que esté decidido a agradar a Dios, debe estar dispuesto a soportar persecución (2 Ti 3.12). Otras veces aceptamos actividades que violan nuestra conciencia, solo para evitar el conflicto, pero lograr la paz no debe ser a costa de sacrificar la obediencia a Dios.
Our happiness consists in doing the will of God. It makes sense that if we resists the will of God and we know it, we find ourselves feeling guilty that we knowingly disobeyed God’s will.
The essence of this happiness does not lie in the agreement of wills, it consists in union with God.
The union of wills which makes us happy in God must ultimately be something deeper than just an agreement. We must develop conviction.
The first step after knowing God’s will is to discover our motivation for doing God’s will. Much of this outline comes from Thomas Merton’s classic, No Man is an Island, and then I have elaborated on his thoughts. * Freedom:
I have an instinct that tells me that I am less free when I am living for myself. Living for self is really a basic natural function. In a way, living for my self is not freedom, because I am a slave to the old selfish nature.
My freedom is only freedom when it is brought into the right relation with the freedom of others. This is the essence of community, all members exercising freedom of self-sacrifice on behalf of others. If one fails to be in relation to others, we are not able to exercise the freedom to choose to follow a cause higher than our own natural instincts.
Some fears are legitimate, of course; we should fear a poisonous snake or a drunk driver, and take steps to avoid them. We also should fear sins that have a grip on our lives, because we know they’ll destroy us. The Bible says to “flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness” (1 Timothy 6:11). But some fears aren’t legitimate — that is, they have no basis in fact. The key is to learn to trust God, no matter what our fears are. And we can trust Him, because He loves us, and He is greater than anything we’ll ever face. Furthermore, when we know Christ, we know He is with us every moment of the day, and that should give us comfort.
When we trust God, we can live like we believe what He says about us is true. Even when persecution tempts us to doubt our identity, our loving Father confirms His presence and fights on our behalf. He affirms we can walk like mighty warriors armed with His absolute love, guarded by His endless grace, and secured in His reliable truth.
There are dozens of men and women of steel and velvet in the Bible—like Moses, Joshua, Deborah, Ruth, David, the prophets, and many men and women of the New Testament. Their examples would make a very good Bible study for young men and women who want to develop these qualities of steel and velvet. God wants you to, but do you personally want to become a man or women of steel and velvet? I can guarantee that if you choose to pursue this aim, it will be one of the best decisions you’ll ever make!
It is important for us to pray for others because Jesus Christ has commanded us to do so. Jesus commands that we pray, not only for our family, friends, and fellow believers, but even for our enemies (Matthew 5:44; Luke 6:28). By praying for others we are imitating Jesus Christ, who intercedes with God the Father on our behalf (Romans 8:34; John 17:9), as well as the Spirit of God who intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words (Romans 8:26).
El Peligro del Enojo
En Isaías 64:9, el profeta implora al Señor: "No te enojes sobremanera, Jehová". Este pasaje implica que Dios mide su enojo de una manera apropiada a cada ocasión. Nosotros, también, podemos aprender cómo medir nuestro enojo y focalizarlo para que no se produzca ningún daño. ¿Cómo hacerlo?
En Efesios 4:26, se nos exhorta a controlar nuestro enojo, para que no pequemos. El enojo en sí mismo no es pecado, pero puede llevar rápidamente al pecado. Hay una línea que no debe cruzarse. ¿Cómo saber si la hemos cruzado? Es obvio que el abuso verbal y la violencia física deben ser evitados, pero el enojo puede llevar a otros pecados que son igualmente fatales.

CAPÍTULO 8
El poder restaurador: Jehová va a “hacer nuevas todas las cosas”
1, 2. ¿Qué pérdidas afligen hoy a la humanidad, y cómo nos afectan? EL NIÑO pierde o rompe su juguete favorito y comienza a llorar con tanta tristeza, que nos parte el corazón oírlo. Pero ¿hemos notado cómo se le ilumina el rostro cuando papá o mamá le restituyen o restauran lo que había perdido? Aunque para el progenitor sea sencillo encontrar o arreglar el juguete, para el pequeño es motivo de regocijo y fascinación, pues se le ha devuelto lo que creía irrecuperable. 2 Jehová, el Padre Supremo, tiene el poder de restituir o restaurar lo que sus hijos terrestres tal vez consideren perdido sin remedio. Claro, no nos referimos a algo tan trivial como un juguete. En estos “tiempos críticos, difíciles de manejar”, afrontamos pérdidas inmensas (2 Timoteo 3:1-5). Muchas de las cosas que estimamos —el hogar, los bienes materiales, el empleo y hasta la salud— parecen hallarse bajo amenaza constante. Quizás nos desconsuelen la destrucción del medio ambiente y la consiguiente extinción de numerosas especies. Sin embargo, nada nos hace tanta mella como la muerte de un ser querido. Los sentimientos de pérdida e impotencia suelen ser abrumadores (2 Samuel 18:33).
Are you Toiling for the Kingdom?
I came across this quote again this week - The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow You usually hear or read this quote when someone graduates from college or university. It is also heard when someone achieves their dream after working hard and long to get there. I started to ponder on what heights can I reach in my prayer life, my ministry or simply reading my bible more if I put in extra hours and effort into doing or learning more. If I became more intentional in pushing myself to reach my potential so that God can use me to advance His Kingdom, would I be fulfilling my purpose here on earth? How much more impactful our lives are for God’s Kingdom when we wholeheartedly choose to serve Him and do His will. Be all that you can be – join God’s Army.
In the Old Testament, the psalmist celebrates waiting patiently for the Lord (Psalm 40:1), and Isaiah promises that those “who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31). Waiting on God is a regular refrain in the life of faith. It is an expression of the healthy heart’s desire: “O Lord, we wait for you; your name and remembrance are the desire of our soul” (Isaiah 26:8). And it is an echo of the unparalleled power and grace of God, “who acts for those who wait for him” (Isaiah 64:4)

Somos testigos de Jesucristo cuando nuestra manera de vivir refleja Sus enseñanzas. La forma en que actuamos, hablamos, vestimos e incluso pensamos debería reflejarlo a Él y Su manera de hacer las cosas. Somos testigos de Jesucristo cuando hablamos con otras personas de los sentimientos que tenemos con respecto a Él. Ser cristiano es haber reconocido y aceptado a Jesucristo como El Señor. Es un acto de renunciar a vivir bajo nuestra autoridad y someternos voluntariamente a la Autoridad y Voluntad de Aquel que llamamos “Nuestro Señor”. Pablo explicaba esto en su vida diciendo: “Ya no vivo yo, mas Cristo vive en mí”. El cristiano, en definitiva, ha dejado de vivir bajo las consignas del: “yo hago lo que quiero, lo que a mí me gusta, lo que me dan las ganas.” El cristiano anhela hacer la Voluntad de Dios, como decía en Rey David en el Salmo 40:8 “Hacer Tú voluntad, oh Dios, me ha agradado”. Incluso el mismo Jesús identificó la necesidad de hacer la Voluntad de Dios como más importante que satisfacer su apetito: “Mi comida es hacer la voluntad del que me envió”
Tal vez este afectado por alguna dolencia física, posiblemente su matrimonio no funciona, está endeudado, atado a alguna adicción, el estrés lo está consumiendo, no puede dormir por las noches a causa de las preocupaciones, no sé cuál sea su situación pero tal vez se pregunta, ¿habrá alguna posibilidad de cambiar esta realidad? ¿Habrá alguna manera de que las cosas cambien para mí? Hay una buena noticia para usted, ¡si el cambio es posible! 2 corintios 5:17 dice: «De modo que si alguno está en Cristo, nueva criatura es; las cosas viejas pasaron; he aquí todas son hechas nuevas».
God can take a dried up useless life and transform it into a life of purpose and grace. When God says to His Children He will do a new thing, it means you will move to a level of freedom you have never known before. It also means that God is about to surprise your enemies beyond recovery
God does know what we need. God tells us in Matthew 6:8, “Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” But in the next verses he tells us to pray for our needs. In 1 Thessalonians 5:17 God commands us to pray continually. That means to pray a lot! Prayer is God’s way for us to receive what we need from Him (Heb. 4:16). He tells us the reason we don’t have what we need is because we haven’t asked or because we are asking selfishly (James 4:2-4).

We also need to pray because we have an enemy, the devil, who wants to rob us of the good things God wants to give us. Prayer is God’s way to stand firm against the devil’s tricks (Eph. 6:18). When we pray with thanksgiving God chases away out worries and fills our hearts
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. These words direct attention to the highest good in the universe - peace; highest because it implies the existence and development of every conceivable moral virtue. These words suggest three remarks concerning Divine peace.
You know, a lot of people think that God begins to love them when they begin to love God, and that's not true. The Bible says he loved us before we were ever born. He loved us before the world was ever born. And his love is unconditional, his love is eternal. The interesting thing about knowing God is to realize that God has always loved us, and it's just the most wonderful thing when we discover that because then we can start loving Him back. He not only has loved us from the beginning, he always has, but he will love us forever, he always will. And nothing we can ever do can keep that from happening.
God loves you now. But here's some better news: he always has loved you, even before you were born, even before the world was born. He has loved you from the very foundation of time.

The adequacy of Jesus Christ to deal with our helplessness is indisputable. He is able to save to the uttermost all who come to God by Him. This was the purpose of His coming: “Thou shalt call His Name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.” The adequacy of Christ to deal with our helplessness is something that is basically surely true. If He cannot save you from your temper, what kind of Savior have you to offer to this world? If He cannot save you or me from thoughtlessness or selfishness, from unreliability, from jealously and envy, what kind of a Savior is He? He is no Savior at all. The whole testimony, the whole message of the New Testament Gospel, is that He is able to save. And His adequacy to deal with man’s helplessness is seen here. I hope it is seen in your life and mine.”

Es importante que oremos por los demás, porque Jesucristo nos ha ordenado que lo hagamos. Jesús ordena que oremos, no solo por nuestra familia, amigos y compañeros creyentes, sino también por nuestros enemigos (Mateo 5:44; Lucas 6:28). Al orar por los demás, estamos imitando a Jesucristo, quien intercede con Dios Padre en nuestro nombre (Romanos 8:34; Juan 17: 9), así como el Espíritu de Dios que intercede por nosotros con gemidos demasiado profundos para ser expresados con palabras (Romanos 8:26).
Las epístolas del Nuevo Testamento están repletas de ejemplos de oración por otros, así como también llamadas para hacerlo. If you believe the proclamation of forgiveness of sins in Jesus' name and blood,(absolution) preached to you by believer (a person who has Holy Spirit), then you have your sins forgiven in Heaven also and then you are a believer, so then you can be sure you have Jesus in your heart.
The act of caring for another is so powerful because it creates deeper bonds as individuals lean on each other for emotional support. ... It also teaches important virtues such as patience, understanding and loyalty that benefit individuals in both their personal and professional lives.
And the reason I say “essence” is because I know there are other emotions besides joy that are important components of corporate and individual worship. For example, the sorrows of confession of sin. “Weep you people with dirty hands,” James says. He commands them to weep! It’s not a command to rejoice. So I know that other emotions are necessary to a full orbed experience of worship — especially corporate worship. However, I’m staying with the word essence for joy because those sorrows are not true worship unless they are sorrows for not experiencing joy in God.
Prayer is meant to be a way of life for Christians, a way of talking to God and listening for His voice with the ears of the heart. As a result, there are prayers for every occasion, from a simple salvation prayer to deeper devotionals that help facilitate and strengthen one's spiritual journey.

Temor a las nuevas experiencias
¿Has dejado de hacer cosas por miedo? ¿Estás postergando algo sólo porque no te atreves? Si la respuesta es afirmativa, entonces es que sabes lo que es el miedo a lo desconocido, la emoción de detenerse y esconderse, porque no sabes qué puede pasar, con qué obstáculos te vas a encontrar o cómo vas a salir parado de una situación.
Yo estoy entre vosotros como el que sirve” (Lucas 22:27). Como verdaderos discípulos de Jesús, nosotros también debemos servir a los demás. El servicio es prestar asistencia a quienes necesitan ayuda.

You are not alone. Do you ever feel like you are the only one who is going through your struggle? Everywhere you look everyone is doing great, and you suffer in silence as you struggle with sin or someone being cruel to you. The Bible is very clear that you are not alone. Jesus suffered everything that the rest of us have. He can empathize with us because he has gone through it too. Don’t let Satan push you farther down by getting you to think you are isolated. Stand on God’s Word and find your strength in Jesus.
- Allow yourself to complain of nothing – not even the weather.
- Never picture yourself to yourself – under any circumstances in which you are not.
- Never compare your own lot with that of another.
- Never allow yourself to dwell on the wish that this or that had been, or were, otherwise that is was, or is. God Almighty loves you better and more wisely than you do yourself.
- Never dwell on the morrow. Remember that it is God’s, not yours. The heaviest part of sorrow is often to look forward to it. The Lord will provide.
Instead of planting a garden, let’s say I need to plant seeds of truth in a friend’s heart. Or instead of fixing a sink, I need to fix a broken relationship. The wonderful news is that God gives us the tools to do any spiritual work He may ask us to do. Not only that, but God also gives us the knowledge and ability to use these tools. Sometimes we see someone doing some great spiritual work, and we think, “I could never do that.” We need to realize we can do anything that God calls us to do. Do you think God would call someone to be a pastor without giving him the tools to do the work? Would God call you to do anything without giving you the tools? No, He wouldn’t.
A prolonged sickness can be a desert. Moving to a new place or joining a new church where you don’t know anyone can be one. Being stuck in a miserable or boring job instead of the fulfilling career you had hoped for can be a desert. A rebellious child or an unbelieving spouse can be a desert. When we’re in the desert, it can feel like God’s not doing anything. Or he’s set us aside. But God is always at work. He uses desert experiences in many ways, as we see in Dt. 8:2-6:
Deserts humble us
According to King Solomon, wisdom is gained from God, "For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding" Proverbs 2:6. ... Solomon basically states that with the wisdom one receives from God, one will be able to find success and happiness in life.
Satan declared war on God when he attempted to overthrow God long before Adam and Eve were here. We believe Satan whose name was Lucifer lived on the planet Earth ruling over all of God's angels. There was plant and animal life plus all of God's angels. Lucifer planned an invasion of heaven taking a third of God's angels with him.
Isaiah the prophet tells us, "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High (Isaiah 14:12-14)."

For many, the 23rd Psalm has brought comfort at funerals or memorial services but I believe this Psalm has more than just comfort to give us. Let me point out a few structural elements of the Psalm we should take note of right way.

As we rejoice and rely upon God’s promises, it is very easy to become one dimensional in our grasp of God’s promises. Let me illustrate. How do we see God’s promises? For the most part, don’t we view and embrace them for what they give to us?
For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. 4 In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. 5 The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. 6 Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; 7 for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if only you would hear his voice. Psalm 95:3-7
Moses spent 40 years in the desert before God raised him up to lead Israel out of Egypt. As soon as God delivered Israel from bondage in Egypt he took them into the desert. David did a lot of desert time hiding out from Saul before God made him king. ?And the Spirit drove Jesus into the desert after his baptism for 40 days.
Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

When God called Moses, he had actually chosen a strong candidate to be Israel’s deliverer. For the previous 40 years, Moses had led sheep through the very wilderness God wanted Israel to escape through. That meant he knew the terrain, the mountain passes, and the watering holes. As a herder of sheep, he knew something about managing unruly crowds. And, as a former son of Pharaoh, he had learned how to read and write legal documents and set up a government. The burning bush should have been Moses’ Karate Kid moment, where he finally saw how all of his preparation would pay off.
“Is life worth living?” To scores of people life has ceased to be worth living. To all of you I have good news. God did not create you to be a defeated, discouraged, frustrated, wandering soul, seeking in vain for peace of heart and peace of mind. He has bigger plans for you. He has a larger orb and a greater life for you. The answer to your problem, however great, is as near as your Bible, as simple as first-grade arithmetic, and as real as your heartbeat. Upon the authority of God’s Word, I tell you that Christ is the answer to every baffling perplexity which plagues mankind. In Him is found the cure for care, a balm for bereavement, a healing for our hurts, and a sufficiency for our insufficiency.

TRUSTING GOD IN THE HARD TIMES
How can I hold on to my faith in God when things go wrong? As a Christian, I know that I'm supposed to "give thanks in all things" and look to the Lord for my daily needs. Yet I've been through some devastating experiences over the past year. How can I be thankful and trust God at a time like this?

God hasn’t promised us a rose garden. Not in this present world, anyhow. That misguided idea has no place in the message of the Christian gospel. When life seems full of pain, we need to remember what Paul said to Timothy about “enduring hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ” (2 Timothy 2:3). We should also bear in mind a couple of very broad principles that are fundamental to the biblical worldview. First, we must never forget that we live in a fallen world. If things go wrong and trials beset us, this isn’t a reflection on the power and genuineness of God’s love. Nor does it necessarily imply that we have sinned against Him or displeased Him. It simply means that the world isn’t what it’s supposed to be.
It’s about taking the focus off yourself and what you can do in your God time (like praying and Bible reading) and letting Him move how He wants to. Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28, NIV). When we spend time with Him, we find a place of rest.
His footsteps our pathway; what is the pathway for the believer laid out in Psalm 85? It is marvelous! To summarize— 1. The path of favor (vss. 1 and 3); In the gospel is favor. He has made known to us his salvation. Merciful and kind favor so undeserved! In His favor, all His wrath is gone toward us forever because of the cross–“You have taken away ALL your wrath and turned from Your fierce anger.” The redemption of the cross did this permanently for us. Now favor is ours always every moment– forever

As Christians we are called to “be still” at times. I find it fascinating that there are several moments in scripture where Jesus is among crowds and shortly after you find him taking a time out. Time to be with the Father. In Mark 1:34 Jesus was healing diseases. In Mark 1:35, “very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” Timeout!
1Therefore, since God in his mercy has given us this new way,a we never give up. 2We reject all shameful deeds and underhanded methods. We don’t try to trick anyone or distort the word of God. We tell the truth before God, and all who are honest know this. 3If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing. 4Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.
Failure, loneliness, loss, rejection, unfulfilled dreams…there’s no shortage of things to fear in life. Fear can feel like an unwelcomed, constant companion in life, paralyzing your actions, damaging your relationships and hindering your faith.

All Christians suffer. Either you have, you are, or you will — “through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God” (Acts 14:22). This reality is a stark reminder that we have not reached the new heavens and new earth. The New Jerusalem of no tears and no pain, of no mourning and no death, hasn’t arrived yet (Revelation 21:1, 4). But just because we experience suffering as we await the redemption of our bodies, it doesn’t mean that our suffering is random or without purpose. And neither does it mean that Scripture doesn’t tell us how to think about our suffering now.
The Lord promises in Psalm 147:3: "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." If you are hurting from past wounds, cry out to Him with your whole heart, knowing that He is the only one with the power to heal hearts.

It happened for Elijah in the cave. (Photo by Ian Chen on Unsplash) You feel as if life is spiraling out of control. Sickness has a strong grip on you. It's dominating the direction of your life. You wonder when you will be able to stop scraping the bottom of the barrel just to make ends meet. Let's not forget your children are rebelling against their godly upbringing. You don't know where to turn, and you don't know what you should do. The right thing to do is to get down on your knees and send Him a dispatch for help. His Word tells us that He will hear when we call out to Him (see Ps. 4:3). You read these words and think to yourself, "I am doing this, and still He doesn't respond." Second Corinthians 10:5 teaches us to take every thought into captivity. And then we need to be still, quiet ourselves and learn to listen.
Paul quotes Isaiah 40:13 and then makes a statement concerning all believers: “We have the mind of Christ.” Having the mind of Christ means sharing the plan, purpose, and perspective of Christ, and it is something that all believers possess.
Having the mind of Christ means we understand God’s plan in the world—to bring glory to Himself, restore creation to its original splendor, and provide salvation for sinners. It means we identify with Christ’s purpose “to seek and to save what was lost” (Luke 19:10). It means we share Jesus’ perspective of humility and obedience (Philippians 2:5-8), compassion (Matthew 9:36), and prayerful dependence on God (Luke 5:16).
Jesus starts out telling us that prayer is not a mystical mystery; rather, we can, by ourselves and without a priest, go before our Holy God and make our petitions and our heart known to Him and commune with Him. Jesus is basically showing us how to relate to Him through intimacy, emptying our will so our heart is exposed to Him as we would with any true, intimate encounter. Thus the mortar of prayer built the Early Church until it disintegrated into the chaos that it was in Jesus' day. Prior to the Reformation, prayer had reverted again to mere ritual and meaningless rhetoric. The prayers were all in Latin and contained elaborate theological terms that the people did not understand. No one was given an opportunity to be educated to learn it unless he was a priest or a physician. Luther and Calvin were challenged to seek Christ; in so doing, they relearned what prayer was all about and communicated that to us.
Just like he did at the outset of creation, God can take the formless voids of our lives, give them shape, and speak light into them. There is a saying, “First things first.” Well, the first thing is God. Our passage from Genesis begins this way. It says, “In the beginning God . . .” The Bible begins with God. It begins with the account of God creating the heavens and the earth and everything in between: stars and insects, trees and galaxies, planets and animals, the birds of the air and the fish of the sea, not to mention human beings, us. In giving his account of creation the author of Genesis presupposes the existence and basic character of God as the one who creates all things and orders all things. He is the one who has made us. He is the one who has made everything. So if ever find ourselves wondering, where does life begin, Genesis orients us. If we are ever wondering what comes first, Genesis tells us. If we ever find ourselves wondering, where do I begin or where do I start in my own life, Genesis gives us a starting place: God. That is where we start. Or at least that is where we should start. Whatever our views of science and the Bible, of evolution and creation – questions that I am not going to address today – if this passage teaches us anything, it teaches us that life begins with God. God was in the beginning – and, in fact, God was prior to the beginning of creation. God has been on the scene long before we arrived and will be around long after we’re gone. God has always been and always will be. He is eternal. Life begins and ends with God. He comes first, not us.
Staying Attuned to God's Guidance is a Journey of Growth
“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. ... Out of this desire and growing relationship you'll get better at listening to God and knowing God's voice.
‘Prayer is the slender nerve that moves the muscle of omnipotence,’ as Charles Spurgeon famously said. When we see the problems in our society and in the church, what is our first response? As the psalmist looks out at the mess that the people of God are in and the fact that his city is in ruins, his first response is to cry out to God. The psalmist reminds God of both his power and his love, declaring his greatness: ‘You, O Lord, sit enthroned forever’ (v.12a) and his ‘compassion’ (v.13) for Jerusalem: ‘For her stones are dear to your servants; her very dust moves them to pity’ (v.14).
We discussed recently how to communicate with God via prayer. Another way we can and should communicate with God is via praise. We can offer praise to God through speaking or singing. Praise benefits both God and us. Praise allows us to connect with God on a deeper level. I’d like to spend a little time sharing with you some things God has shown me about praise and specifically why it’s so important to always start with praise.
What does that mean to you? Living in the Power of the Holy Spirit means freedom, exhilaration, fulfillment. It is something we know, we should know, we've heard all our lives but … we don't immerse ourselves into the great possibilities available by living in the power of the Holy Spirit.

¿Cómo tener una relación personal con Dios?
Cuando Dios creó todo lo que dijo: “Hagamos al hombre a nuestra imagen, conforme a nuestra semejanza. Y que tengan dominio sobre los peces del mar y sobre las aves de los cielos y sobre el ganado y sobre toda la tierra y sobre toda cosa que se arrastra sobre la tierra «(Génesis 1:26). Esto es lo que Dios tenía en mente cuando creó a Adán y Eva. Solo pudieron hacer esta tarea mientras tenían una relación cercana con Dios. En los capítulos 2 y 3 de Génesis leemos que Dios caminó por el Jardín y habló con Adán y Eva.
En las Escrituras, la idea de la muerte eterna se contrasta con la de la vida eterna. Los que tienen vida eterna son los que pasarán la eternidad con el Señor. Aquellos que experimentan la muerte eterna son incrédulos que pasarán la eternidad separados del Señor.
La muerte eterna no es un concepto con el cual todos estén de acuerdo. Algunos piensan que los incrédulos simplemente desaparecen o son aniquilados (aniquilacionismo). Otros sugieren que una persona puede trasladarse de diferentes maneras del infierno al cielo o incluso del purgatorio al cielo. Aún otros creen que todos irán al cielo, ya sea inmediatamente (universalismo) o eventualmente (universalismo final).

Además, la Biblia es clara en que los incrédulos serán separados eternamente de Dios en un estado de tormento. Apocalipsis 20:10 señala que después de la derrota final de Satanás, "El diablo, que los había engañado, será arrojado al lago de fuego y azufre, donde también habrán sido arrojados la bestia y el falso profeta. Allí serán atormentados día y noche por los siglos de los siglos." Después de esto, los incrédulos serán juzgados: "La muerte y el infierno fueron arrojados al lago de fuego. Este lago de fuego es la muerte segunda. Aquel cuyo nombre no estaba escrito en el libro de la vida era arrojado al lago de fuego." (Apocalipsis 20: 14-15).
Daniel también profetizó esta idea, señalando en Daniel 12: 2: "Y del polvo de la tierra se levantarán las multitudes de los que duermen, algunos de ellos para vivir por siempre, pero otros para quedar en la vergüenza y en la confusión perpetuas." Jesús mismo enseñó que los que sean juzgados a una eternidad sin Dios serán castigados eternamente: "Aquellos irán al castigo eterno, y los justos a la vida eterna" (Mateo 25:46).
Si bien no es agradable, esta es una descripción precisa de las enseñanzas de la Biblia con respecto a la muerte eterna. Sin embargo, Dios desea que las personas crean en Jesús y tengan vida eterna (Juan 3:16). Los creyentes están llamados a compartir esta buena noticia con otros, ayudando a muchas personas a escapar de la muerte eterna y experimentar la vida en la eternidad con Dios (Mateo 28: 18-20).

El vacío de tus deseos En Eclesiastés 1,8 está escrito: «Nunca se sacia el ojo de ver, ni el oído de oír.» También está escrito: «Miré todas las obras que se hacen debajo del sol; y he aquí, todo ello es vanidad y aflicción de espíritu. Lo torcido no se puede enderezar, y lo incompleto no puede contarse.» Eclesiastés 1,14-15.
I’m inspired by country singer Tim McGraw’s song “Live Like You Were Dying.” In it he describes some of the exciting “bucket list” things a man did after receiving some bad news about his health. He also chose to love and forgive people more freely—speaking to them more tenderly. The song recommends that we live well, as if knowing our lives will end soon. This song reminds us that our time is limited. It’s important for us to not put off for tomorrow what we can do today, because one day we’ll run out of tomorrows. This is particularly urgent for believers in Jesus, who believe that Jesus may return at any moment (perhaps in the very second you’re reading this sentence!). Jesus urges us to be ready, not living like the five “foolish” virgins who were caught unprepared when the bridegroom returned (Matthew 25:6–10).
"Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved; for you are my praise." The Good News: Healing goes hand in hand with thanksgiving and praise. God rewards a grateful heart. "Then he touched their eyes [of the blind men] and said, 'According to your faith let it be done to you.
Psalm 91. He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,

In the days when light came from burning oil in lamps, a vessel at sea needed crewmen to constantly care for the lamps. This care involved trimming the wick, which drew the oil up from the storage reservoir, so that the flame would be clean and bright.

Hoy día, muchos jóvenes se encuentran inmersos dentro de algún vicio, pensamientos pecaminosos y diversas cosas que poco a poco lo van alejando de la enseñanza de dios y del buen camino que tiene preparado para cada uno de nosotros. Ahora bien, el joven cristiano se va manifestando o construyendo su vida a través de la palabra de dios, a través dela congregación y la relación que se tiene hoy día con nuestro padre celestial.
¿Alguna vez alguien ha lastimado tus sentimientos? Tal vez te diste cuenta de que alguien te mintió o no recibiste el aumento de sueldo en el trabajo que merecías, o tal vez fuiste rechazado o abusado físicamente. Bueno, una de las cosas más importantes que debemos aprender es cómo confiar en Dios y caminar por la fe cuando las personas no nos tratan como deberían. Nuestra respuesta natural es enojarnos cuando nos maltratan, y sentirnos enojados no es malo. Pero la Palabra de Dios nos recuerda que no debemos devolver mal por mal o ira por ira.
Es imposible la cohabitación del cristianismo con el socialismo, es como poner una cerilla encendida al lado de un chorro de gasolina. Son incompatibles. O se es socialista o se es cristiano. La negación de Dios, la creencia en un estado aconfesional y radicalmente laico, la aceptación del divorcio y del aborto, entre otras cosas, se opone de forma radical al cristianismo y a la ley de Dios que predica todo lo contrario.

Living a life of praise is not only the most enjoyable way to live, but it’s also one of the most powerful ways to change your life. Praise isn’t like the caboose that just follows what happens, but it’s more like the engine of a train that makes things happen. Your faith isn’t complete without praise. Colossians 2:7 says that you abound in faith with thanksgiving. No thanksgiving equals not abounding in faith.
Gideon faced fierce tormentors—the Midianites (Judges 6:1–10). Though God called him a “mighty warrior,” Gideon struggled to let go of his doubt, self-imposed limitations, and insecurities (vv. 11–15). On more than one occasion, he questioned the Lord’s presence and his own qualifications, but eventually surrendered in faith.
One of my favorite things to witness is a seed sprouting. As a sometimes hobby, I have sprouted many seeds and acorns over the years, oaks and maples and even oranges. Sometimes I will save my apple and avocado seeds from the grocery store and sprout them in the window just to watch the miracle of life unfold. It is truly a wonder how something that seems dead can become a flourishing, striving and beautiful creature.
Every time I watch a seed sprout, or see a tree leafing out for first time in spring, I am reminded of grace. Growing up, I did not understand grace very well. It wasn’t until much later in my life as a Christian that the wonder of grace really sunk in. In our readings today, I think we find an abundance of God’s grace, and can see how grace, like a seed, is always patiently waiting for the right conditions to germinate.
The Cord of Three Strands is a symbol of that sacred union created on your wedding day. Marriage takes three; you, your soon to be spouse, and God. It was God who taught us to love. By keeping Him at the center of your marriage, His love will continue to bind you together as one throughout your marriage.

Todos en algún momento de nuestra vida hemos pasado por situaciones difíciles en las que perdemos el ánimo y la fuerza. Algunas personas han perdido las ganas de vivir durante temporadas difíciles en su vida. En la Biblia podemos ver cómo incluso los hombres que seguían al Señor pasaron por estos momentos. Tener sentimientos de desánimo es parte de nuestra humanidad. Pero es importante reconocer los problemas y las situaciones que nos desgastan y buscar a Dios para que nos dé fortaleza. ¡Sí! ¡Dios es quien puede fortalecernos!
ES EN LA PRESENCIA DEL SEÑOR DONDE ENCONTRAMOS FUERZA EN MEDIO DE LAS PRUEBAS Y DIFICULTADES.
La definición de fortalecer es “la acción de dar fuerza a algo o alguien.” El deseo de Dios es darnos fuerza, porque Él quiere un pueblo fuerte. La fortaleza que Dios nos puede dar no solo es física sino también espiritual y moral. Muchas veces el desgaste interior es más pesado que el desgaste físico. Como cristianos debemos reconocer a Dios como nuestra fuente de fortaleza antes que cualquier persona, cosa o método. Es en la presencia del Señor donde encontramos fuerza en medio de las pruebas y dificultades. Necesitamos la ayuda del Señor en todos los proyectos que hacemos y en todas las cosas que podemos emprender. El apóstol Pablo escribió: “Doy gracias al que me fortaleció, a Cristo Jesús nuestro Señor, porque me tuvo por fiel, poniéndome en el ministerio” (1 Tim. 1:12). El apóstol Pablo reconoció que durante su tiempo en el ministerio Dios fue su fuente de fortaleza.

Have you ever had someone tell you how a story or movie was going to turn out before you had a chance to read or see it yourself? Some people call that a spoiler. A poorly timed spoiler can take the fun out of watching a good movie or TV show. However, in the middle of a scary story it can be comforting to know that things will turn out well in the end. Then, even if part of the story is distressing, you know that things will be resolved later. The same is true in God’s big story for us and his world. It begins in a perfect world, but we’re in the middle now, and a fierce battle is raging around us. When the forces of evil bring suffering or fear into our lives, it can be reassuring to know how our story will end.
In this passage Paul calls for the church of Philippi to be unified. Even though in many ways they were a model church, they were not a perfect church. They had many threats to their unity. In chapter 1, it is clear that they were being persecuted from outside for their faith. Paul said that God had granted them to not only believe in Christ but to suffer for him as well (v.29). In chapter 3, we see that there were false teachers teaching circumcision (v. 2). In chapter 4, two women were fighting in the church possibly causing it to divide into factions (v.2). Though a model church, the Philippians had many threats to their unity
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
God's Plan Is Not Your Plan. We have a God who is greater, who is wiser, who is stronger. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all you ways, acknowledge Him, and He will make straight your paths.
Proverbs 12:25 Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad. 1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Philippians 4:6-7 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Before Moses approached the king of Egypt to seek freedom for the children of Israel, he and his brother, Aaron, met with the oppressed leaders of Israel. During this meeting, Moses and Aaron encouraged the people to consecrate themselves to the Lord and told them God was about to deliver them from slavery with a mighty hand.
The Israelites had been laboring seven days a week to maintain their heavy workload for the Egyptians. But after this meeting with Moses, they apparently decided to begin resting again every seventh day. This is why the furious Pharaoh later said to Moses and Aaron: "Ye make them rest from their burdens." Exodus 5:5. (The Hebrew word for "rest" used here is "shabath." It means "to cause to keep sabbath.")
The angry king knew that he must do something drastic to hold this nation of slaves under his control, so he decided to drown them with work and crowd both God and worship from their thoughts. He said, "You shall no longer give the people straw to make brick as before. Let them go and gather straw for themselves. And you shall lay on them the quota of bricks which they made before. You shall not diminish it." Exodus 5:7, 8, NKJV.*
As in the days of Moses, God is about to do great things for His people. Soon they will be delivered from the slavery of sin and journey to the heavenly Canaan. And once again, God is now trying to turn the minds of His people toward the importance of the Sabbath rest.

NOTE:
Three times in Genesis chapter 2, God tells us that He made the Sabbath from the seventh day of Creation week. He also "sanctified" it, which means "to set aside for a holy use." God made the Sabbath as a 24-hour period of time, because time is what it takes to develop a true love relationship with Jesus. The devil, like Pharaoh of Egypt, wants to keep us so busy working that we don't think about God. Knowing how overly busy end-time people would be, God set aside 24 special hours weekly to spend with His people, getting acquainted. He has made that weekly appointment with you. Don't fail to meet Him!

NOTE:
Exodus 20:8-11 is the fourth commandment of God's law. By making the Sabbath one of His Ten Commandments, He demonstrated its extreme importance. Verse 10 calls it "the sabbath of the Lord thy God." Only the fourth commandment begins with the word "remember," indicating God knew that people would forget. Breaking God's Ten Commandment law is sin (1 John 3:4). But Jesus died to save His people from their sins, or law-breaking (Matthew 1:21).

Today there is a constant battle for your mind and heart. New Channels, ad agencies, social agencies, various causes, movements, political parties are all fighting for to have you come into agreement with their perspective. They want you to see their perspective of various social issues, causes and world views. At the very same time God is also calling you to come into agreement with His perspective. He wants you to have a heavenly lens by which you see the world around you. We have a choice each day. Whose perspective will we come into agreement with?
"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. ... Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air"
…your life is hidden with Christ in God. —Colossians 3:3
The Spirit of God testifies to and confirms the simple, but almighty, security of the life that “is hidden with Christ in God.” Paul continually brought this out in his New Testament letters. We talk as if living a sanctified life were the most uncertain and insecure thing we could do. Yet it is the most secure thing possible, because it has Almighty God in and behind it. The most dangerous and unsure thing is to try to live without God. For one who is born again, it is easier to live in a right-standing relationship with God than it is to go wrong, provided we heed God’s warnings and “walk in the light” (1 John 1:7).
To adopt someone is to make that person a legal son or daughter. Adoption is one of the metaphors used in the Bible to explain how Christians are brought into the family of God. Jesus came “that we might receive adoption to sonship” (Galatians 4:5), and He was successful: “You received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children” (Romans 8:15
