Innovation World celebrates young innovators and the organizations who inspire and support innovation. Innovation world is the "Hub" of all things innovation in the K-12 space.
The Innovation World Young Collaborators Podcast Series welcomes Samriddhi Tiwari.
Discover how a simple, everyday material inspired a groundbreaking idea in sustainability. Explore how Samriddhi Tiwari turned discarded human hair into an effective natural fertilizer.
“I remember visiting salons and noticing these huge piles of discarded hair on the floor. It honestly shocked me, I had never realized how much waste a single salon produces in just one day.”
“I had just cut my own hair and it had always been very close to my heart, so the thought of it just being swept away felt wrong. I really wanted to use it in a meaningful, unusual way instead of letting it go to waste. That moment stayed with me, and it inspired the entire idea behind my research.”

I'm here today with Buddy Muns, a student in high school and founder of Lunch Box Buddy, a food program that distributes free lunches to local students during the summer. He has distributed over 1600 lunches in just 6 WEEKS; that's like 50 lunches a DAY! He has made sure that NO child remains hungry in his local town, Devizes. He was alarmed by the number of students which relied on free school lunches that were being plunged into no free food, summer. Acknowledging the rising food costs, he went on a mission to let children have good food each day.

Learn how friends Raj and Ben worked together to invent iTrash a solution to a common problem in cafeterias around the world.
“We picked this problem because in our school cafeteria, people kept mixing up trash, recycling, and compost. At first, we wanted to make a robotic sorting system, but then we realized robots are super hard to build, use a lot of energy, and are really expensive. Apps are way easier, don’t use much energy, and are free. So of course, we went with an app.”

Innovation World Young Collaborators Podcast series welcome Chuck Tyler to this special 2024 Veterans Day podcast.
Chuck is an army veteran who now work with Veteran's Intellectual Property, a 501(c)(3) charity that provides pro bono patenting services to veterans, active-duty members, and military dependents. We also provide legal advice on other forms of intellectual property protection, including copyrights and trademarks.
Patenting is important because it allows the inventor to protect their ideas and inventions from being used by other people without permission or compensation. Copyrights, trademarks, and patents can greatly increase an inventor's chances of commercial success.
Our work is important because it helps level the playing field for veterans and active duty members who have great ideas but may not have the resources to protect them. We are proud to be able to offer our services at no cost to those who have served or are serving our country.
