Jacki Johnson is the owner of Tidewater, Belle Chasse, and Fulton County Pack a Backpack. As she adapted to the nomadic nature of a military spouse, required to move from base to base whenever her husband was reassigned, she seized upon the opportunity to absorb as much experience from her travels as she possibly could.

By 1996, Jacki and her husband had settled in Rochester, where she began to ply her trade out of a home office. By 2002, her clientele had grown so much that she moved the business to downtown, and two years later, Tidewater Executive Tax Service settled into the Main Street location where she operates to this day.

As ambition leads to growth, growth often leads to the need for more space in order to branch out and realize the possibilities of your work and dreams. The Belle Chasse (pronounced ‘bell chase’) Party Venue is a place that provides the literal space that can be rented by people who need an ideal location to get the most out of their own events and gatherings.

Digital Wolf Magazine | Six Sense | 4th Ed. | October 31, 2020

digitalwolfnetwork.com/4th-edition

Everything we know, we have experienced through our senses.

Sight. Sound. Smell. Taste. Touch. These are the receivers of consciousness, capturing the signals that help us to give name to our perceptions of the world around us. These amazing mechanisms of the human body are shared across our species, but still contribute to the uniqueness of every individual.

As we grow, our senses tend to take a backseat to more formal learning processes, yet they continue to enrich every part of our lives whether we are conscious of it or not. Appreciation of music, of art and literature, of fine foods, and so much more, including the desire to expand our horizons, is fueled by our ability to appreciate things through our senses.

In this issue of Digital Wolf Magazine, we want to stimulate those senses by introducing you to people who regularly engage those perceptions as a part of their work and creative personas. And then, we take you beyond by exploring the extrasensory with those who share insights that straddle the known and the unknown.

Meet the Walsh's

Brian is the Creative Writer for Digital Wolf Magazine among other various writing projects. Christine has a non-profit art organization called Full Tilt Art. They both have pieces featured in past and upcoming magazine editions.

In addition, the duo tries to remain active in assisting/promoting local events, especially ones that focus on the downtown area where the theater is located. They have regularly visited other Indiana towns and attended conferences in search of ideas to explore the potential to enhance the community through the arts, and look forward to seeing if some of their ideas can be adapted to Rochester.

When they are not actively advocating for public art projects, the couple do their best to maintain domestic bliss while pursuing their respective muses- both together and apart. While Christine continues to engage in photography when and where she can, Brian continues to write and submit content to various online outlets when the opportunity arises, and they both seem to agree that the secret to creative harmony is knowing how and when to give each other space.

Erica’s work dabbles in naturalism, but strays from the path of pure realism. They say not all heroes wear capes, yet Digital Wolf Magazine couldn’t help but notice Richard Propes’ cape strapped to the back of his wheelchair in downtown Indianapolis on October 3rd, 2019 during his 30th annual Tenderness Tour.

The event was closing his three-decade-long quest. In his attempt to raise awareness of domestic violence and prevent child abuse, Richard has collected around 6,000 miles in his wheelchair and raised nearly a million dollars for charitable funds. His mission of finding empathy, love, and tenderness in the world had been verified. Each Indiana child murdered in violence since the Tenderness Tour began on October 8, 1989, would be honored with a 1/3 of a mile lap around the state capital’s Monument Circle.

Listen as Shelby shares her experience meeting Richard and the experience at Monument Circle at the final chapter of the Tenderness Tour ensuring no child was forgotten.
