Through the Shepherds we will focus on expressing the joy in the gift God gives us through His son Jesus. The Shepherds were the most unlikely group anyone expected for God to reveal the Savior of the world to, yet that’s exactly what He did.

Through Elizabeth we will focus on understanding that God exalts those we perceive are of low position, and yet allows them to be influencers in the bigger narrative of God’s plan for us.
Through Zechariah we will focus on how God always fulfills his promises, even when it seems impossible to us. Zachariah’s disbelief in the angel led to his inability to speak until his miracle son was born, which propelled him to bless God and acknowledge the faithfulness of God.
You are part of the team, and the team is better together. This week we’ll look at how God has created as one body with many different parts. There is creativity in all of us, so let’s get creative and give everything we can to love people and impact the world.

Contentment means that we are satisfied with where we are right here and right now. It is the epitome of being fully present to find contentment with who you are, where you are and what you have. Being fully present means you aren’t worried about what else you need to do, but you are content with where you already are.
When we realize that not only has God given us grace through the work of Christ, He has made us a new creation. Maybe we can prioritize grace in our own lives so we can give grace to ourselves. When we live in the grace we’ve been given, we not only make better choices for our priorities, live our lives more open handed and less stressed, but we also are able to extend that grace to others more easily as well.
Pausing gives us space to make sure that we aren’t running our lives in the complete opposite direction from what God calls for us to live our lives like. Pausing allows us to keep the rest of our priorities straight so we don’t miss out on the ultimate rest our God has for us in heaven.
Often we have filled our lives with so many acquaintance level relationships that it actually crowds out genuine connection. Yet God has a priority for us to be connected. Let us help you, prioritize you as you seek the real connections and togetherness that you truly need.
God prioritizes you above it all, so maybe it’s time for you to actually prioritize yourself. Prioritize what’s best for you. Prioritize what’s truly good for you. Prioritize what you need rather than what the world wants out of you. Priorities matter because you matter, and if God is willing to prioritize you, it’s time for you to prioritize you.

How often do we remember that in a corrupt and broken world, we carry something that can destroy the darkness? We have an opportunity to step out into the world and carry a message of light. We have an opportunity to show our city that no matter their story, no matter their past, rejection has fallen, and instead they stand in acceptance; that they’re loved, valued and pursued by God and His church.
In our day-to-day pace of life, it can be easy for comfort to become our focus. At the table in our mind, often we place the wrong things nearer to us: our comfort, our possessions, our successes, our ego and our pride. We experience freedom when we have the courage to look outside of ourselves, toward a God who exalts the humble.
Our fears can sometimes seem logical, and sometimes they are irrational. This week, we remember that God is able, and that when we set our eyes on Him and refuse to look away, everything changes. We name the wind and the waves that crash around us, but we need to focus and fill our minds, hearts, and mouths with praise for the One who brings us through the storm – Jesus.

Peter’s decisiveness puts us in awe of how bold and sure he was of his faith and trust in Christ. Yet Peter was the same one who denied even knowing Jesus three times when Jesus was being persecuted. Just as Peter denied Jesus three times, Jesus offers Peter forgiveness and love three times as he calls out Peter’s faith and then calls him to carry out the calling before him to feed the lambs and sheep of Christ’s flock. His influence to the church comes from the forgiveness offered by Christ, a restoration only given through the grace of Christ.
As we see David’s life, we can be enamored by his faithfulness and willingness to fight Goliath. His faithfulness was strong against Goliath, but weak against his own fleshly struggles and desires. The same God who carried out such great victories through David is also the same God who calls David to repentance and vows to discipline David for his unfaithfulness.
Moses challenged God and pushed back in his disbelief of what God was telling him he was capable of doing. It wasn’t through his incredible belief that he became an influencer to an entire nation, it was through who his belief was in that made it all possible.
This week we take a look at the life of Abraham. We see that Abraham’s influence isn’t because he was trusting enough, but really because our God is trustworthy enough. As you and I continue to grow in owning our influence, may we too realize that our hope for our future doesn’t lie in our ability to trust, but in God’s worthiness to be trusted.
Today we wrap up our series Foundations with our 24th Annual Freedom Service. We will celebrate the freedom of our country and take time to honor the military men and women who protect it.
Today as we celebrate with our students who are being confirmed and graduating high school, we take a deeper look at the importance of our faith in Christ as the foundation we stand upon our entire lives.
This Mother's Day, we take time to acknowledge those women that God has placed in our lives to help us along our journey on this earth. We'll take a special look at the story of the Mayhew family, and how God continues to impact and move through a mother's faith and dedication.
This week we begin a series called Foundations, where we'll look at some important and vital anchors that we root us here at Shepherd's Gate. Today we'll be highlighting small groups, as well as celebrating with our students who are celebrating First Communion.
The story of Jesus didn’t end at the empty tomb. In fact, it continues even to this day. You and I are invited into the story, because when Jesus was sent to earth, He came also to send us out to share His story forevermore. This week, we look at the Great Commission that Jesus spoke and we see how we can be forever part of the Easter story.
The ground shook. The darkness trembled. Then, on the third day, everything changed. Death had been defeated and life has been redefined. The resurrection on Easter Sunday covers our entire past, and changes our entire future. We celebrate today the fact that Jesus rose from death, to life!
The disciples saw Him heal and work miracles. They saw Him speak truth and change lives before their eyes. Now, the one that was foretold for generations was hanging on a cross, dying and assumedly forsaken. On Good Friday, we experience the confusion and grief of this twist of the story, but rejoice in the fact that the cross was not the final chapter.
In a simple meal with His disciples, and through His miraculous body and blood, Jesus shared a part of Himself before He went to the cross. This Maundy Thursday, we come to the table of Jesus and experience His presence together.
The Messiah that had been prophesied throughout the Old Testament, the Savior that they had waited for, the One they had only heard about is now here. This Palm Sunday, we celebrate the King who came to earth for you and me.
As we seek to value giving freely and generously in our families, we’re challenged to ask ourselves about the motives behind why we’re giving what we’re giving.
We are truly loving God, when we place Him in his rightful place of authority in our family and in our personal lives. Our family values God’s laws for our lives and for our neighbors.
God isn’t about the things of this world, but wants a relationship that is real, genuine, trusting and forgiving.
Real fulfillment and joy comes in the service to each other. As we look to our family values and realize that true significance comes not from our prestige but from our humble service, may we be encouraged to find more opportunities to serve for the sake of others.
This week, we will see how Jesus raises the bar for someone who believes they are already living a God pleasing life. We aren’t saved because we do enough good. We aren’t made right in God’s eyes because of how hard we try. Instead, it’s all a gift. When we’ve been given something so good for nothing, it will drive us to extend that same forgiveness to others.
Rest is an investment. In a busy, noisy world we need quiet moments alone with the Father as Jesus modeled.
Our family values can get lost in the sea of the world’s busyness and chaos. We might think we know where we’re going, yet we’re not where we should be. Will we trust in Jesus enough to follow Him?
Boundaries, formed by God’s directive, give us a clear path towards what’s best and allows us to trust in Him and not be afraid when others threaten our security for not doing what they deem as right. We will focus on what’s best as we allow God’s boundaries to protect our schedules, relationships and faith lives.
Every family has a set of values, whether they have written them out or not. As a church family, we are going to walk through the Gospel of Mark to learn what Jesus values. We will ask ourselves, do our family values line up with Jesus’ values? And we will take steps each week to align our family values with God’s values for our lives.
Celebrate your influence of the past to encourage continued influence into the future. Let’s see how God has done great things in and through us as a church in our 39 years of existence.
Often we face times of disillusionment and defeat in our efforts to influence the world around us. This sometimes leads us to believe we really don’t have influence. Challenges change our approach to influencing, not our calling to influence.
Throughout our lives we have different opportunities to influence our families and world. As we grow in our stature in our community, our ability to influence grows and changes with it.
Everyone has influence. Sociologists estimate that even the most introverted person will influence ten thousand people in their lifetime. Every day you influence someone and you are influenced by others. This means everyone is a leader and a follower. Join us as we discover how to own the influence God has given us so we can make an even greater impact to those around us.
Today, here in this service we take time to remember those who have gone before us. We also take time to remember what Jesus has done for us at the cross, the living hope that is ours.

As we remember Christmas this year, our families need our connection, our neighbors need our compassion, and our world needs their purpose. Let us be driven by the people that God put into place and His connection, compassion and purpose He shared with them as we seek to provide the same with those around us.
As we remember our God’s intentionality of bringing our salvation through the quiet of Bethlehem, let us be challenged to find the quiet, low-key, purposeful opportunities this Christmas to reconnect with Him and His desires for our lives.
We will hear how to keep our eyes open to all the blessings in our life in the midst of all the noise around us and rest on what is most important...Jesus.
