Located just 3 miles south of Venice in the beautiful Venetian lagoon lies the captivating Poveglia Island. With its intriguing triangle shape covering 18 acres, this mysterious island has a long and fascinating history. Initially abandoned in the 14th century, Poveglia served various purposes over the years, from being a military depot for ship activities to functioning as a vital quarantine island. These tales of its past have given rise to countless legends, some of which claim that Poveglia is haunted. While separating truth from fiction can be challenging, the enigmatic allure of this island persists.
