Christ’s death is not just a substitute for our death, His life is a substitute for our lives. Christ’s obedience to the Father becomes our obedience to the Father; Christ’s trust in the Father becomes our trust in the Father; Christ’s yieldedness to the Holy Spirit becomes our yieldedness to the Holy Spirit. When I claim Christ as my substitute life it leads to such security and it so takes the performance pressure off in which we are at such peace that we can cultivate a desire for holiness.
The work of the ministry is to build up the body so that we might attain the maturity that is demonstrated by unity. We are mature as a local church to the degree we are in unity. If you are a new creation, you have a new creation nature; a nature that is now defined by the indwelling Holy Spirit. Your new nature will have a powerful urge to minister to others in the Body of Christ.
God’s purpose is to showcase the beauty of His Son through His Church. Our desire to reflect Christ shows how much we love Him. It is His pure unselfish love transforming us to purely loving Him in return. One of our greatest drives in life is to influence others but God’s purpose is to display His beauty, His many-colored wisdom through The Church. Our lives are fulfilling when we are a part of God’s purpose and not trying to make a life outside of that.
The mystery is that each of us are one with Christ and all in Christ are one with each other. To sow to the Spirit is to release yourself from the pressure of achieving outcomes. Releasing yourself from the pressure of getting answers or trying to change your heart yourself. In the midst of hard emotions you can sow to the Spirit by sowing scripture into your emotions. It’s not about you, it’s just a life surrendered to the Spirit.

Unity is the intimacy of knowing and being known for exactly who we are in order to simply delight in each other and value what we can become together. We develop love by entering the way The Spirit binds us together. Unity is love expressed in fellowship: Being in the scriptures together, practicing hospitality toward each other, praying together, having a common mission.
Because we have lost sight of the truth that our identity in Christ means our identity as members of His Body, we haven't had the sufficient desire for unity. If we rightly understand our faith, we will come into unity. Excellence should be based in our mutual desire to help each other thrive and flourish and our gifts.
When the book of Hebrews talks about Christ making intercession for us, it is not just about Christ praying for us. It is about Christ extending the power of his blood to us. One of the reasons we stand NOT condemned, is so that we can know the piercing love of conviction of sin without becoming anxious that we have lost the favor of God.

Worshiping God together shapes us into trust, shapes us into love, shapes us into obedience. If we truly enter into worship we are opening ourselves to God's magnificence. Submitting to God’s authority through worship is a priceless delight.
The Book of Revelation tells us where we’re going so we can be full of faith. Christ is already victorious and has chosen to reveal Himself through the churches [lampstands] and He will empower us to persevere. Perseverance is the realization that nothing can separate you from the love of God.
Dependence is more than relying on God, it is abandoning our mind and emotions to Him. Surrendering our inability to trust rather than trying to trust. Dependence on God is resigning from ourselves. Holy Spirit will answer our prayers in the way and timing that makes us most like Jesus.
Ultimately, prayer is acknowledging God's authority. Prayer is not so much asking God to help me as it is me seeing God. Committing things to God and waiting on Him are not so much disciplines we develop, as they are behaviors that flow from our conviction that He is sovereign and possesses all authority.
God always has a plan for your life. We will totally depend on God when we’re convinced that every battle we face has either been designed by God or allowed by God. The first step toward joy and peace in your battle is to know that even if God didn’t cause it, He will always be in it! Dependence is not a choice. It is a way of life.
God came, as a helpless child- that is the answer. The way of the child is victory over darkness. No longer needing all the answers and everything figured out, but rather walking in our identity as His child, being fully dependent on Him.
Before we take authority over Satan, let’s take authority over our own thoughts. Strongholds are not just areas of demonic control in a person; strongholds can just as much be ungodly thoughts which become ungodly attitudes. Prayer always starts with God coming to you. You can start being an intercessor by telling God the worries you have for others in your life.
To intercede is to stand before God on behalf of someone else and ask Him to show favor and/or show mercy to them. If you learn to pray to God about what’s on your heart, you will develop a hunger to pray about what’s on God’s heart. A sermon by Steve Fry.

We receive all things from God by faith. We are saved by faith and we are empowered by faith. We have been raised with Christ and we have received fullness. When we pursue God, when we yield to the Holy Spirit, we do so from fullness. Worshiping God in spirit and in truth becomes the lifestyle of the fullness we have received.
There is a difference between the manifestation of tongues and a personal spirit-language. A personal devotional prayer language (heavenly language) strengthens our spirit. A prayer language is experienced by faith as an act of yielding to God.
The God Community of Father, Son, and Spirit is the foundation of everything. Individuality is an illusion. We now live from the full security of that intimacy. This becomes the abundant life Jesus promised. Because we are secure in our intimacy with Christ, we are freed to daily yield to The Holy Spirit.

A church that desires the Spirit's manifestations will stay healthy if it has a greater desire for the Spirit's fruit. In the early Pentecostal Outpouring we became a 'power' culture rather than a 'witness' culture. God has called us more to participation in his life than a partnership with his power.
To experience resurrection power is to see pain as an invitation to God’s Presence. Resurrection power is falling into God’s arms by falling into the pain, without resolving the it, trusting God to raise you above the pain. It is at the point of embracing your pain that you discover God!
The fruit of the Spirit is not only what He produces, but even more so who He is. When our focus is on the Lordship of Christ, we will possess a deep desire that Christ is exalted in a body of believers, and a deep hunger for the fruit of The Spirit. The message of God's love will capture your attention; but the message of God's Lordship will transform your life.
What the Holy Spirit initiates will always result in a heightened awareness of the Lordship of Jesus Christ. To be a ‘spiritual’ is to walk in the ‘fruit-gifts’: the full range of life in the Spirit, both His fruits, gifts, and manifestations.
When it comes to your giftings, the biggest discovery is not discovering your gift; it is discovering how your gift fits with others. The shared spiritual experience described in 1 Corinthians 12-14 is meant for groups large enough for the manifestations of The Spirit to be expressed and small enough for everyone to participate.
For Christ, emptying Himself looked like being a servant. Serving is what freedom looks like. Taking the form of a servant is far more than merely acts of service or "serving people"… To take the form of a servant meant that the entire system of thinking shaped by "becoming" was nullified by Christ. Serving people daily becomes a key part of complete surrender.
We cultivate Christ-Culture when we ‘see’ each other primarily as members of His Body. Christ is not disappointed with His Body members, so we don’t have to be either.
The blessings of encouragement, comfort, and access to the power of the Spirit are not the result of conditions we have to meet, but the source of life we already have.
A Christ-community is not just a group that wants to exalt Jesus; it is being a group that experiences Christ by participating in the Holy Spirit’s gifts together and exhibits Christ by partnering in our God assigned gifts.
Prayer is seeking God in the places we are not yet finding Him. Where we lack peace and joy, shows us the areas where we have not found God. In this sermon we will dive into practical applications for hearing God clearly in your life!

Healthy community is the core of being a society, but a society is about the beliefs, the systems and the way we function together that preserves community over the long run. A community focuses on relating together. A society focuses on functioning together. More than any other purpose, our purpose is to reflect The Beauty of God.
If we’re ‘born again’ we’re members of The Body of Christ. Since we are members of His Body we have accepted the joy and the obligation that what we do and how we live even in the privacy of our own hearts affect each other. Since we affect each other, one of our chief aims is to keep our hearts free of offense.
Patience is the result of the conviction that God will fulfill everything He has planned for me. When it comes to loving others I don’t have to try to love them with my love… I enter God’s love for them!
You are not the guarantee of your salvation. So the pressure of your ‘self’ is off of you. I abandon myself to the love of God which takes me to the freedom of self-denial and the joy of the ‘loved self’.
The starting point for Christian community is not our need for relationships or connection; it is our common loyalty to Jesus. The Lord has chosen to express His identity on the earth through The Church. We can only flourish as the Body of Christ when we rest in our intimacy with Jesus and let the Holy Spirit continually show us Jesus’ beauty.
The intensity of God’s desire for you is perhaps the greatest manifestation of His beauty. Jesus’ death on the cross is the greatest display of God’s desire for you ever given! The Cross actually abolishes all sense of personal shame and unworthiness, because if God desired you this much to have already died for you, holding on to shame and unworthiness is totally absurd.
You don’t need to fight for your freedom if you know Christ is holding everything together. In fact, since you know Christ is holding everything together, you can focus on contending for righteousness. America is unique, there is a record of evangelical shaping. The more Christian we are as a nation the more we should want people of other faiths to come so we can demonstrate just how amazing Christ and His gospel is!
We get to live from abundance, rather than striving for abundance. Abundance is reflecting the beauty of the Lord though every circumstance that He is controlling anyway. God’s love is what makes Him beautiful and that love creates peace and joy. His peace and joy equals life!
Dependence on God is not a feeling of trust.. it is an act of abandonment to God. His beauty is found at the edge of our complete dependence. That is where we find our purpose and our calling- to behold God’s beauty and to reflect God’s beauty.
When Jesus died on the cross, God made a way for us to be restored to relationship with Him. We don’t have to rely on ourselves, we can rely on Him, we can trust in Him! We will only know joy in prayer when we really believe that God is sovereign. If we are in Christ, then our prayer does not come from our attempts to persevere, but our enjoyment of his presence.
Obedience is meant to be motivated by the joy of God’s closeness, rather than an obligation to comply with God’s commands. Yielding to His Spirit results in the rhythms of contentment: a life of joy and peace. We yielded to God’s initiative when we were first saved; now we just keep yielding to the Holy Spirit’s initiative in us as we continue to be saved!
When we see our purpose as joining The Father in bringing everything under The Headship of Christ, we enter into the current of God’s love and discover the most fulfilling life possible. We bring things under the headship of Christ by making everything an expression of intimacy to Jesus. If God’s purpose and mission becomes our purpose and mission we will have strong, sustainable joy.
We know that we love God because He first loved us but we also chose God, because He first chose us. To be chosen is to live perpetually in and under God’s favor. Living truly under God’s favor is not a free pass to disregard sin; but it does transform the motivation of why we confess and repent of sin.
“In-Christ-Intimacy” is a new identity- your old condition was insecurity, your new condition is SECURITY. Your old condition was lost, your new condition is FOUND. Intimacy begins with security. We need to understand our union with Christ to truly grasp the security we are meant to know in our relationship with God.
Intimacy is our greatest need- a relationship where we can be vulnerable, honest, and transparent. Our ‘in-Christ-intimacy’ is the key to living a blessed life, staying obedient, experiencing healthy church, and engaging the mission of The Gospel with joy. Sermon by Steve Fry.
The aim of the Holy Spirit is to make us like Jesus. We need to take a good long look at God’s original design and decide if we will allow the Holy Spirit to align us to that. When we give place to the life of Jesus within us we are living out our purpose!
Our life is no longer our own, we belong to Christ. Putting the past behind us we press on toward the prize which is experiencing Christ living His life through us. This fulfills our greatest longing; intimacy with God.
Prayer is the doorway to encouraging yourself, it’s your escape hatch from the prison of impossibility. Prayer is the evidence you have joyously abandoned your life to Christ. God wants us to know how to persevere with Him, so that we can persevere through every hardship and we do this by bringing everything to Him in prayer.
Christ’s body is an ecosystem of Jesus followers who function as a community together. Being in the Body of Christ is why love is a starting point, not just a character goal. Being the body of Jesus is our core mission.
As a new creation in Christ, we have a new heart. That new heart operates from an environment of love - Jesus in us! Love is your new condition; you don't work at it, but instead receive it. Rather than seeing loving others as an outcome of our efforts, see love as our permanent starting point, our source. Love in this sense is not a discipline, it is freedom from self - it's all from our source - Jesus, and that sets us free to experience joy in loving others!
We gather together to be renewed in Christ’s love, we experience that love together in community, and this results in a joy that frees us to reach out to people far from God and invite them in. One of life's biggest challenges is dealing with people. especially when they have attitudes and behaviors that are irritating and obnoxious. But Jesus gives us a model of how to handle relationships when they are difficult. Knowing how to yield to the Spirit when faced with "people stuff" is one of the most practical ways we experience the Holy Spirit's power.
One of the most truly revolutionary principles for a fulfilling spiritual life is learning the freedom of daily yielding to the Holy Spirit. One key way we yield is to sow to the Spirit as Paul taught in Galatians 6:8. When we discover how to sow to the Spirit, we will actually live in genuine victory as Christ's disciples.
In a seasons of such cultural and political turmoil, how do we as believers walk in the Spirit and know what to fight - and more importantly, how to fight? There was a joy before creation, before there were promises to be fulfilled, before there were battles to be won. It was the joy that the father and the son I've known for all eternity. Their joy came from perfectly knowing each other, giving themselves completely to each other and resting that nothing was beyond their control.
Likewise our primary pleasure is knowing God, emptying ourselves in humility, and resting in his complete sovereignty. This joy can be ours as we continually yield to the Spirit.
The way we as Jesus followers were meant to live life, is to live under the control of the Holy Spirit. What we discover when we are under His rule is that He rules through joy. Joy is much more than a feeling; it is a mindset, a state of being that can be ours on a daily basis.
The day of Pentecost was the day that God sealed his covenant with his Church by empowering them with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit dwelled in them, but from this day on he flowed through them. And the greatest power they received was the fulfillment of God's promise of the New Covenant: that he would put the Holy Spirit in people to move them to obey his commands. When we understand the freedom that comes as we allow the Holy Spirit to move us to obey, it will truly revolutionize our lives.
Jesus promises that his followers will experience rivers of living waters flowing out of their innermost being. This message focuses on how we give place to the Holy Spirit to spring up inside of us, transforming our mind and emotions. And the first truth of giving place to the Holy Spirit is starting with the covenant faithfulness of God. There is a security in God's faithfulness that motivates us to daily surrender to the Holy Spirit.
Four timeless truths that flow from Christ's resurrection that enable us to find joy in the midst of pain.
Jesus builds His Church through people. People who are love Him but are flawed and imperfect. To build with Jesus is to be faithful to one another, just as Jesus is faithful to us.
Jesus said he would build church on a simple confession. When Peter said "You are the Christ, the son of the living God", he was acknowledging the power of Jesus to deliver. When we know that God wants to deliver us every day, we can walk in the confident assurance of hope, and trust him to supernaturally build his church.
When Jesus announced his movement, the church, the first thing he said about it is that the gates of hell would not overcome it. There is a place of prayer that is motivating and exciting, when we know how hell-resistant Jesus has made us.
The church in our culture has drifted somewhat from Christ's original design. In Matthew 16:18, Jesus announced his plan to build a new society, and the Church truly becomes revolutionary when she aligns to that design.
A very personal word from Steve Fry about the prophetic journey he and Nancy have been on over the last 40 years, what the Lord has specifically revealed during those years, and very specific prophetic words of the Lord for the future of the American Church that will enable us to better understand what is happening now and how we prepare for the future.
There are many prophetic voices being sounded right now. How do we discern the word of the Lord? There are many wondering if we are in the end times at this moment. How do we know if this is the end of the age? There are many who are uncertain about where the American church goes from here? What is the kind of church that Jesus promised He would build? And in the midst of all these questions, how can we truly live life in joy?
Even when we face insurmountable hardships, we can – like David – encourage ourselves in the Lord! How? But learning to ‘get God large in our minds.’
Just like God did for the Israelites, so He now does for us in Christ. He actually enables us to see His salvation so powerfully that we can learn to ignore and walk free from our fears.
You are now living from the place of God’s favor. Being ‘in Christ’ is your new operating system. The moment you acknowledged your complete helplessness and trusted the total sufficiency of Christ’s sacrifice for you and surrendered, you were placed by The Holy Spirit ‘in Christ’, in the crucified and resurrected Christ. Learning to live from that place is the lasting key to peace.
He is the God who loves you so deeply that he wants you to want Him! So, if He doesn’t seem ‘present’, right now He is not far away. Rather, He is inviting you to desire Him. God wants you to want Him so deeply that He will not always answer your prayer quickly.
The nation is more polarized than it has been since the Civil War. What we need is wisdom from God that is precise and specific to know how to navigate the rough political and social seas that we are in. This message analyzes specific issues in the light of the Kingdom of God and how we as Christ followers should weigh the implications of how we vote. This is a call to truly reflect Jesus in our world.
God is using this global pandemic to shake His Church to the foundation of the Unshakeable Kingdom.
How we can daily discern the attacks of the enemy and learn how to recognize the negative emotions that arise from specific tactics of the enemy.

There is freedom found in choosing to focus less on our needs and place that focus on God instead.

The Son of God did not come to save us from our sins, but to show us the new way of being human. And he gives us the template: dying and rising with him. And as we live from our crucified and risen place in Christ, we fin true and lasting freedom. This is nothing short than the revolutionary Gospel.
How do we reconcile the truth that God wants intimacy with every person, with the truth that God does one day judge those who have not surrendered to Him? The answers may surprise you!
There is a power and freedom we can know when we understand that as new creations in Christ, our emotions no longer have to be just our reactions to our outward experiences, but there is an emotion of peace that passes all understanding that is released within us because of our union with the Spirit of Christ.
Following the model of Christ's passion, we learn that embracing grief both empowers us to be instruments of redemption, and takes us deeper in our intimacy with God.
