Later, they chat about how she stayed engaged with her team while not being able to play and detailed the steps she and the Notre Dame medical staff took to ensure she could recover healthily and safely throughout the year.

In the fifth episode of Unforgotten, Tony chats with Notre Dame Baseball players, Niko Kavadas and Jack Zyska.
The Notre Dame Baseball team was off to their best start since 2015. They were coming off of a sweep against North Carolina and were headed to Louisville for a showdown with the Cardinals, before the Coronavirus Pandemic abruptly ended their season.
Niko and Jack discussed how they found out the season was ending while on a bus ride to Louisville and what it was like to see the bus turn around and head back to South Bend.
They later discuss how the team coped with learning the season would not continue and reflected on some of their fond memories of the shortened season.

The Notre Dame Women's Golf Team was in Mesa, Arizona preparing for the annual Clover Cup. Their season was cancelled the night before the event began.
Mia and Abby discussed how the abrupt season cancellation affected them and how they have adjusted to life at home over the last month.
Abby also detailed her current work as a volunteer at a Cancer Center in her home of Memphis, Tennessee.
Later, Mia reflected on her senior season, including her involvement with the weekend that honored former Notre Dame student Reed Nishizuka.

They were a threat to win the ACC Championship and contend for an NCAA title later in the spring before their season was cut short by the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Hunter, Davis, and John detail how they learned their season had come to an end, and how they are processing everything a month later.

After beginning the season 13-9, Notre Dame was ranked in the top 25 in the RPI and had a pair of ranked wins on their resume. They were about a week away from returning to South Bend to play their first home game of the season before it was cut short.
Abby and Alexis detail how they found out their season was cancelled and how their team managed to process the news. Later in the show, they discuss how they've tried to adjust to being back at home and attending school remotely.
Towards the end, they group discusses the softball team's motto of "One More" and how it has helped them during this time.

Robinson was elected the student body president of Notre Dame in the spring of 2016.

Anderson originally joined the Irish football team as a walk-on in 2012, and was awarded with a scholarship as a senior in 2015. He graduated in the spring of 2016 with a degree in pre-professional studies from the College of Science, and is currently pursuing a master's degree in global health from the Eck Institute for Global Health.
Segment 4: Jack and Rachel catch up with Irish cross country/distance associate head coach Matt Sparks. Since arriving at Notre Dame in 2014, Sparks has helped guide women's distance standout Molly Seidel to three NCAA Championship titles, and most recently Anna Rohrer to the 2016 ACC Cross Country Championship crown. The Notre Dame women's cross country team recently finished second at the Great Lakes Regionals, and will compete at the NCAA Championships on Nov. 19 in Terre Haute.

Segment 2: Jack and Rachel talk with men's soccer junior forward and the newly minted ACC Offensive Player of the Year Jon Gallagher. Gallagher is the third Notre Dame player in the program’s four seasons of conference membership to be honored as the top ACC offensive performer, joining past MAC Hermann Trophy candidates Harrison Shipp (2013) and Patrick Hodan (2014). After 19 starts thus far in 2016, Gallagher remains atop the ACC scoring charts with 12 goals and 31 points, adding the second-most assists in the conference with seven helpers. Playing in the nation’s top conference, Gallagher, whose point total was eight clear of his closest ACC peer at the time of voting, ranked fourth in the NCAA in shots per game (2.11), sixth in total points and eighth in total goals as of Nov. 7.
Segment 3: Jack and James sit down with junior linebacker Greer Martini. Martini ranks sixth on Irish roster in 2016 in tackles with 43, including five TFL, two sacks and one PBU. He finished the Navy game last Saturday with 11 total tackles (tied for team lead with Nyles Morgan), with four solo stops. In four games against option team in his career (Navy 2014-15-16 and Georgia Tech in 2015), Martini has totaled 37 tackles (9.3 per game) and 16 solo (4.0 per game) tackles.
Segment 4: Jack and Rachel catch up with senior women's swimmer Danielle Margheret. Margheret swims breaststroke as well as freestyle for the Irish, and is currently ranked in the top 10 in the ACC and the top 30 in the NCAA in the 100 breast. Thus far this season the Notre Dame women's swimming and diving team has risen to ranking as high as #10, and currently sits at #14 in the nation.

Harrity's primary roles at Notre Dame include leading key areas that directly impact the student-athlete experience: the Rosenthal Leadership Academy, career development, community service-learning, athletic training, nutrition, strength and conditioning and the newly created Sports Science initiative. Harrity also serves as the sport administrator for the women’s soccer program.
Segment 4: Jack and James talk with sophomore wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown. St. Brown has enjoyed a breakout season for Notre Dame in 2016, hauling in 37 passes for 683 yards and seven touchdowns over his first eight games. A Biletnikoff Watch List candidate, St. Brown's four-reception, 182-yard performance earlier this season against Syracuse yielded the second-best yards per catch performance (45.5) for an Irish receiver with fewer than five receptions in a game.

Tillery was named Notre Dame's Defensive Newcomer of the Year in 2015 after he played on the defensive line in all 12 regular season games, starting three contests (Georgia Tech, Navy and Stanford) as a freshman. He ranked sixth among all defensive linemen in tackles with 12, and added two tackles for loss and one sack last season. Through seven games in 2016, Tillery has notched 24 tackles and a career-high three tackles for loss.
Segment 3: Jack and Rachel catch up with former Irish baseball standout and current executive director of the Notre Dame Monogram Club, Brant Ust ('01). In addition to managing the Monogram Club's staff, activities and membership outreach, Ust collaborates closely with the Board of Directors to establish the Club's priorities and goals. As an infielder at Notre Dame, Ust became one of the most decorated players in program history, earning BIG EAST Rookie of the Year honors in 1997 while taking home the conference's Player of the Year award in 1998. He also earned third-team All-America recognition from the ABCA, Baseball America and NCBWA. Selected by the Detroit Tigers in the sixth round of the 1999 MLB Draft, Ust enjoyed a nine-year professional baseball career with the Tigers, Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates and Seattle Mariners organizations. He was a member of USA Baseball's 1998 Collegiate National Team and 2005 World Cup Team.

Segment 2: Jack talks with junior men's basketball point guard Matt Farrell. Farrell's first four career starts came in Notre Dame’s run to the Elite Eight in the 2015-16 NCAA Tournament, where he finished the four-game stretch averaging 26.8 minutes, 6.5 points per game and 3.5 assists per game. He saw action in 28 games during his sophomore campaign, and in the offseason played with the East Coast All-Stars in the summer of 2016, traveling to Italy and helping the team to a 3-1 record, averaging 11.5 points per game and 4.3 assists per game.
Segment 3: Jack catches up with the reigning ACC Women's Basketball Player of the Year, junior forward Brianna Turner. Turner started all 29 games she was healthy (missed six games with shoulder injury) as a sophomore in 2015-16. She led the ACC in both field-goal percentage (.593 - fifth in nation) and blocked shots (career-high 3.0 blocks per game - 13th in nation), while ranking 10th in rebounding (7.3 rebounds per game) and 11th in scoring (career-high 14.6 points per game), along with five double-doubles. Turner was one of two players to rank in the top 13 in the nation in field-goal percentage and blocked shots per game, along with UConn's Breanna Stewart.

Segment 2: Jack and senior softball pitcher Rachel Nasland talk with Notre Dame rowing great and Olympic gold medalist Amanda Polk ('08). Polk became the first Notre Dame Rowing alumna to earn an Olympic medal as part of the gold-medal winning U.S. Eight on Aug. 13, 2016. The Women's Eight claimed its 11th consecutive World/Olympic Title, of which Polk has been a part of six. Polk has been a member of the U.S. senior women’s rowing team from 2009-11 and from 2013-16. She also was a member of the U.S. U-23 team in 2008 and of the U.S. junior team in 2004. In 2013 she was part of the U.S. women's eight boat that set the world record (5:54.16) at the World Rowing Cup. A four-time All-American at Notre Dame, Polk finished her career as the most decorated rower in program history.
Segment 3: Jack and Rachel talk with former Irish fencing All-American and 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Gerek Meinhardt ('13, '15 MBA). Meinhardt made the U.S. Olympic team for a third time, having also competed in 2008 (Beijing) and 2012 (London). As a 17-year old, he made history in 2008 as the youngest U.S. Olympic fencer of all time. In 2010, he became the first U.S. male to win a Senior World Championship medal (bronze) and then became the first U.S. male to win multiple individual Senior World Championship medals when he picked up the silver in 2015. In 2007, Meinhardt became the first U.S. men's fencer ever to qualify for the Cadet, Junior and Senior World Teams all in the same year. At Notre Dame, Meinhardt was a three-time All-American (2009-10, 2013-14).

Last season Evans played in all 37 games and had a breakout season offensively, scoring eight goals and adding 25 assists for 33 points - all of which were career high totals. Segment 3: Jack and James talk with football senior captain Torii Hunter Jr. Hunter played in 10 games as reserve in 2014, then 13 games (one start) in 2015, finishing with 28 catches for 363 yards and 2 TDs. Hunter is the leader among current Notre Dame wideouts in career receiving with 54 catches for 699 yards and 4 TDs. Drafted in the 23rd round of 2016 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Angels, father Torii is a former MLB outfielder with Minnesota, Detroit and the Angels.
Segment 4: Jack and Rachel catch up with legendary Irish soccer coach Bobby Clark. In his 16th season at Notre Dame, Clark has posted a 202-80-51 (.683) record, which has included 14 NCAA tournament appearances and the program's first national title victory in the 2013 NCAA Championship. Winning has been synonymous with Clark wherever he has been. His 30-year resume has produced a glossy .685 winning percentage and a 355-143-76 mark during his collegiate coaching tenure. Prior to becoming Notre Dame's fifth head coach, he had successful coaching stints at Dartmouth (1985-93) and Stanford (1996-2000). Clark became Notre Dame's all-time wins leader during the 2011 campaign, and for his dedication and commitment to the Fighting Irish men's soccer program, the Notre Dame Monogram Club awarded Clark with an honorary monogram in June of 2011.

Rundgren has also toured with Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band, and worked as a producer alongside Grand Funk Railroad and Meat Loaf. Rundgren will be performing live in concert at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center on Oct. 1.
Segment 3: Jack and James talk with Notre Dame swimming head coach Mike Litzinger. Litzinger assumed control of both the men's and women's swimming programs in December of 2015, marking the first time since 1995 Notre Dame has had a combined swimming program. Litzinger previously served as head coach of both the men's and women's programs at the University of Utah (2000-07) after seven seasons as head women's coach at St. Bonaventure University (1989-1996). He was an assistant coach at the University of North Carolina from 2007-15, serving as associate head coach his final four seasons.
Segment 4: Jack and Rachel catch up with junior volleyball middle blocker Sam Fry. Fry was named to the all-ACC second team in 2015 after being included on the conference's all-freshman squad during her first season. Fry enters this weekend tied for the ACC lead in service aces (0.45). The Irish face Duke on Sept. 30 and Wake Forest on Oct. 2 at Purcell Pavilion.

Segment 2 - Jack and Rachel talk with Dr. Duncan French, Notre Dame's director of performance sciences. Dr. French arrived at Notre Dame this past January, and works across all sports to provide a technical interface between coaches and support services, as well as coordinating the sports science initiatives that support competitive advantage. Prior to arriving at Notre Dame, French was a technical lead for strength and conditioning at the English Institute of Sport. He has worked three full Olympic cycles and has been the national lead for strength and conditioning for both Great Britain’s taekwondo and basketball Olympics programs since 2004.
Segment 3 - Jack and James sit down with Notre Dame senior football captain Mike McGlinchey. A native of Warrington, Pennsylvania, McGlinchey was a second team preseason All-America selection by CBS Sports after starting every game for the Irish in 2015. McGlinchey is set to play his 30th career game (18th start) at Notre Dame against Duke on Saturday.
Segment 4 - James and Rachel talk with the 2016 recipient of the Harvey G. Foster Award, Joe Echelle ('62). Echelle, who arrived in America in 1952 after previously living in a Displaced Persons Camp in Austria during World War II, is considered the forefather of the Notre Dame men's soccer program after establishing the University's first club team in the sport in 1961. Referred to by Hall of Fame sports owner Lamar Hunt as the "Knute Rockne of Notre Dame Soccer," Echelle enjoyed a long career as a professional soccer general manager and marketing executive, and has remained a key community contributor helping grow the game of soccer in various cities in the U.S. He shares stories of his time at Notre Dame, the U.S. Army after graduation, a pair of American football kicking battles with Pro Football Hall of Famers George Blanda and Lou Groza, and more.
