This was an enjoyable episode to record and stream. It felt more like two guys talking than two guys teaching the Bible. Thats a good thing. It is not our goal to make our content always about current events, but sometimes when something strikes us its fun to talk about and it also edifies and informs.

In case you didn't pick up on it from the title, this episode is about the infamous Will Smith slap at the Oscars. I hope we said something that helpful to you, if not, I hope we entertained and brought a smile to your face.

I am titling this one "reasoning together" as this is the main point of the episode. In this episode I talk about a conversation that I have with a brother who is working through the issue of mechanical instruments of music accompanying praise and worship to God. I hope you are edified and informed. Also, this is cross posted on the We Talk Truth podcast channel. You ought to go over there and check it out.

Have you ever heard someone say something and immediately you think, this is wrong? Then, after having talked to them you find that what they said was right from a certain perspective. That is the way it is with many statements made in Bible class. We hear something that a Bible teacher has thought through in preparation for his lesson and it strikes us as wrong or false. Sometimes this is exacerbated by the teacher not conveying his line of reasoning well. Sometimes it is exacerbated by the students in the class not being exercised in abstract thinking. Regardless of the reason, we need to be able to discuss these things civilly without throwing around accusations of false teacher or heretic. In this episode of WTT, Stephane and I will be discussing two topics where this issue has arisen for us in the past and commonly happens to others.

So many congregations used to be huge. After years they kind of dwindle off. Most of the time this is the fault of the congregation itself and the blame lies solely on the shoulders of the leadership. Today, however, we are going to talk about some reasons a congregation might be shrinking from the perspective of the responsibility of the member who decides to leave.

If you have left a congregation, why? If you are thinking about leaving a congregation to another, you might listen to this and reconsider your decision.

Yes, I know that there should not be a "most important verse." Or maybe if there is, it most likely isn't the one we will be talking about today. When people hear the phrase, "the most important verse," they typically think about salvation or some such. Today we are talking about the most important verse about Bible interpretation as it relates to ordering our lives in Christ. I hope you enjoy the episode and are edified.

This episode comes from a video where I watched two people who are worldly discuss being on opposite sides of an issue in relation to good and evil. One person was adamant that, although the side she used to be on was wrong, she was not evil and she took offense to someone saying that those who hold the wrong position are evil. Take a listen and let us know what you think., Can someone be evil? What does it take for someone to be evil? These questions and more will be answered in this episode of WE TALK TRUTH.

There is a video making the rounds that impugns the specificity of God. The basic message of the video is that when God specifies something we don't necessarily have to do what God specifies to be right in His eyes. This could not be further from the truth. In this episode of We Talk Truth Stephane and I talk about wha the Bible actually teaches refuting this illogical and false doctrine.

Commentaries are a good thing. That being said, how do you view them in relation to your Bible study? Talk a listen to this week's episode of the We Talk Truth podcast and see if maybe our views on books about the Book need to change and maybe we need to get back into the Book.

It sometimes seems that Christians are so overwhelmed by the idea of sinning that they tend to make excuses that seem to indicate that a small ammonite of sin is acceptable by God. This could not be further from the truth. The margin of error is zero. Now, the blood of Jesus cleanses us so we can actually die in a justified state of being. That being said, there is no amount of sin with which God is ok. Take a listen as we discuss this nuanced topic. Let us know what you think.

This is the first episode in awhile that all three of us have been in the studio. In this episode we just flesh out the definition of lying. What does it mean to lie? Am I guilty of lying if I use sarcasm? These and other questions are answered, or at least addressed, in this episode of the WTT podcast.

This podcast comes from a questions asked in the We Talk Truth Group based on a conversation I (Tony) had seen on someone else's profile. The assumption was that the power of salvation lied in the Holy Spirit and therefore baptism was not necessary. This caused me to challenge myself and the way I conceptualized how I viewed the Holy Spirit's work in salvation. This was a good podcast and a fun discussion. Hopefully you will enjoy.

This is our 3rd and final installment of the undenominational church series. Hopefully we have covered some of the attributes of the church that Jesus built. We hope you will consider what we have discussed and look inward and assess whether or not you are part of that church whose origin is found in the Bible.

In this week's episode we discuss mechanical instruments of music and the Lord's Supper. Aaron and I missed Brock but we were very excited to have Phil Sanders on the show. It was a very good time and discussion. Phil was so humble and acted like we were big shots and the boon went from us to him. We assure everyone that it was he who bestowed the boon. Arron and I were beyond blessed to have Phil fill in for Brock and we know you will be too!

With so much division over matters of academia in the Lord's church now days it may behove to have a discussion about exactly what is damnable doctrine or heresy. In this podcast we do just that. This is an emotionally charged podcast. I think it is good for brethren to publicly disagree and still be friends. We do not have to divide along these certain lines that are arguably matters of academic pursuit. Listen in and let us know what you think.

One of the topics of discussion that will always get Brock, Aaron, and Tony fired up is personal involvement. If we look around and see opportunities for improvement the root cause can always be traced back to personal involvement. In this episode we get pretty deep into what it means and looks like to be personally involved in Christianity.

In my years of online evangelism I have noticed one constant, folk love to espouse and promote their own viewpoint and opinion. Sadly this translates into a big problem with online evangelism. What if a person always came into your assembly and challenged you when you were teaching. You are teaching the way the eldership wants you to teach but on these matters of judgment, opinion, and grey area someone just always says you are wrong or offers a dissent. You know this would undermine what you are trying to accomplish and it would not be tolerated very long. We need to conceptualize social media in this manner. In this episode Brock, Aaron, and Tony talk about this issue.
