Today we’re talking about webinars and why webinars can totally suck because in truth, webinars are really sold as this magic thing that’s just going to make everything work. When it all honesty, it’s not really as perfect of an engine as you’ve heard. And it’s really weird because you have heard people like Russell Brunson touting the fact that everybody was in their Inner Circle must create a webinar and you run that webinar every single week until you’ve made $1 million period. Don’t deviate. Don’t automate, do it. That’s what he tells people. But really in all truth, there are things about the Webinar that nobody knows, number one, because you don’t know the stats about a Webinar. And number two, you’ve never really tried to scale a Webinar and there are some serious issues, but if you get it right, it’s still one of the best systems to use. So that’s what we’re talking about today. So about three years ago, this gal had built her business. She was teaching people how to build a staffing business and she was going business to business selling high ticket and doing it, but she was always traveling, never able to be home, and she was like, can’t I scale this? She was doing YouTube but massively and she was like, I should be able to make money with this. How do I make money? And so she looked online and everyone said do the webinar. And so she had decided, okay, but here’s the thing, the secret with her, she didn’t say, I’m going to go learn everything, become a webinar expert. She said, I’m going to go find somebody who knows how to do this stuff. That’s stroke of genius that literally took years off of her learning curve, brought her knocking on my virtual door. I was the guy who’s going to build this funnel for her. And so she gave me all the ideas, everything she wanted, and I said, okay, that’s wonderful, but if we’re going to do this right and you actually want a webinar that’s actually going to work, I needed to take your stuff, I need to adjust. Are you okay with that? And she’s like, yeah. So first thing is with a webinar, in all truth, the first page has to be 100% curiosity based. If you can’t make somebody say, I don’t know what this is and I have to find out you’re not doing a good enough job, everybody wonders why your webinar doesn’t work or why your first page in your funnel doesn’t work. It’s usually curiosity. And if everybody’s webinar, they’re like, this is the way that makes so much money online. Those, and you’re like, oh, I know that. If somebody looked at your headline and says, Oh, I know how to do that. Already done. You’ve just destroyed here. Entire opportunity in order to make your business work, curiosity has to be built in. So we built an awesome curiosity hook. We made sure the page looked spectacular, so that way she looked professional and we hacked what was working already in that niche. And in the webinar space, after we built the Webinar with the ecosystem and all the emails that follow up and the emails and make sure you purchase and everything, we decided to launch. Now when you launch your first Webinar, it’s not going to be perfect and don’t expect perfection. You’re going to fall flat on your face and that’s okay. And when you do launch your Webinar, make sure you’re only promoting it for like two or three days before the Webinar. There’s this statistic out there, I don’t know what it actually is. It just says that we have less of an attention span than a goldfish. I don’t believe that’s exactly true because you’re still here, but at the same time, you know it’s totally possible. So you need to make sure that you’re giving people only a small window because if it’s longer than two or three days, I guarantee you people will forget and they will not come. That is traffic that is wasted. If you’re going to run live, either run it once a week and only advertise in specific spots or run it two to three times a week and just put in the work. And yes, live webinars do far, far better than automated webinars, automated webinars, they sound attractive because you get your life back. But literally listen to Russell Brunson, do it live. So we launched the webinar and as everything goes with a webinar and any funnel, the first week is going to go and it’s just going to fall over. It’s just going to fail. It’s going to be really bad. I don’t know what I’m liking that noise, but I’m doing it a lot. This stuff. Anyways, we launched the funnel and rule number one, when you’re doing a presentation, any presentation, this specifically a Webinar, you have to bring the energy and luckily this gal, she was bringing it and it was working awesome and she got everybody to be out on top of things like everybody was commenting, everyone. She was having a blast with this thing and then we went to the sales pitch and it didn’t quite make it all the way that we wanted, but that was not a failure. Webinars are an awesome machine for testing because literally one week it’s going to suck. The next week you can suck less. The next week after that you suck even less until you make this thing the magic machine. But it’s literally you adjusting until you get there and it takes a lot of energy. It takes a lot of input, but this is the system that can make this work. There’s only one problem. You’re spending paid traffic to a Webinar. It’s inconsistent beyond inconsistent. Now the ways that big gurus get over this, like Steven Larson and Russell Brunson has a lot of their traffic is organic and so organic traffic will continue to convert the way organic traffic does. Paid traffic, ebbs and flows. There’ll be days when it’s super cheap to get it. These words expensive and as you scale your ad spend, it actually gets more expensive to get a registrant and much more expensive to get a sale. How do you actually make this work? Well, this is the issue we came up with this client. We would have these ebbs and flows because a lot of her traffic was paid. We’re doing Facebook ads and we were doing a good job. We were discovering audiences that work. You’re stepping in the right headlines that worked the right images that brought in. Really what it all came down to in truth was how that traffic felt that day. Look, we ain’t got leads for like $3 and 50 cents. We got leads for like a dollar and then we got leads for $12 and this isn’t something that just happened with this client. I’ve seen it with multiple clients and in fact actually took this question and I asked it to a very big guru. I don’t know if I should name drop, I’m going to name drop. His name is Frank Kern. I’m in his inner circle. Trillium is a good program, honestly. So I’m on a call and he says, literally, yeah, this just kind of the way the Webinar goes. And I was like, nobody told me that. Everybody said, you’ll put in a dollar, you’ll make three years stale. Nobody said, well, it ebbs and flows and yeah, it definitely gets more expensive as you start to increase your ad spend. Nobody said that, and nobody will tell you that. Nobody will tell you. And that’s what sucks. But once you get your webinar converting, it shouldn’t be an issue. Once you get your webinar working and you actually get this conversion rate down, you bring the energy, you have the curiosity, you have all these systems moving and all the pieces working right on the automation side, on the backend to be able to get money as fast as possible. And then close the sale. You should be closing about 10 to 15% of people on the backend. That is $1 million webinar waiting to happen. That’s like, let’s make this thing magic. With that percentage rate, you can take on $12 registrants and they will be more interested in your product. So that’s not that big of an issue, but costs will go up and they will ebb and flow. It’s not going to be perfect every single week. One week you’ll put in $5 and make 15 one week you’ll put in $5 and make two and you know what? It’s got nothing to do with you. It’s the way traffic works. And if you’re doing just paid traffic, that’s the name of the game. So how do you get over this? Well, we actually talked about it before. We make sure that we do other types of traffic. Other options are number one, you want JV. If you can bring in somebody that already understands your topic and it’s like I have an audience that would love to do that, the audience is going to convert better than paid ads guaranteed. I love that. Strategy number two, make sure that you build it out so it’s SEO powerful. Now if you have a blog or a YouTube channel, make sure you put the link everywhere so that way you get some organic traffic moving towards this webinar towards this machine that you are building. Make sure you’re driving as much traffic as you can outside of paid ads, so if organic is a machine and organic can work if you do it right and they can be pretty warm too. The last thing that you can do is start to build out your list and keep inviting your list. Build your list with other paid media first and then bring them into the Webinar. This is where .com secrets, Russell Brunson’s book actually makes sense because instead of promoting the webinar where it’s going to is going to ebb and flow and go kinda crazy. He promoted a book and he made a book funnel and that self liquidated everybody who then went there. So I’ve put in a dollar, I got a dollar in on the book funnel. That’s $1 million funnel. I’m gonna scale that. Why? Because I can then take them and push them to the Webinar. And if only a small smidgen of a percentage actually work there, my business is exploding. So number one, definitely looking to doing a JV. Do a dream 100 start listing out the people that you want to work with in your niche and start reaching out, seeing how you can give them value. Put them on a podcast, on a YouTube channel, whatever you’re doing, promote them and help their following and you will suddenly become somebody they want to connect with it works. Number two, make this an SEO engine. Make sure your link is all over the place. Put It on YouTube, put it on your blog. Put it on your website, make sure that there is a way for organic traffic to come in cause organic traffic is much more consistent. But the way to really build this like a king and a queen is to get a self-liquidating funnel at the beginning. Now the self liquidating offer funnel where you liquidate your ad costs, that’s what I like to call it, which is like a book funnel or a product funnels. I’m like that where it’s low ticket at the beginning and you have upsells and down sales, that type of a funnel, it’s really hard to get working right? It’s kind of complicated, so I highly recommend you do number one and number two, but once you start to do those out and you’re like, okay, I got this, that’s when you go to step number three. So again, just to recap, webinars are one of the best ways for you to scale your business. It still is. It worked for this Gal and we scaled it and it worked. It was inconsistent, but it can work. You just have to know the secrets of a Webinar to be absolutely honest, which include number one, keep the curiosity high. Number two, don’t let people wait longer than two or three days to hop on the Webinar. Number three, present with energy and number four, make sure that you have an entire ecosystem built around this so that way you keep following up on customers all the way through the process and it’s not a one touch and done otherwise. Your webinars are gonna work. Your funnel isn’t going to work. There needs to be that ecosystem. That’s the biggest issue with Webinar funnels when you start to scale with Facebook ads. Guys, I’m grateful that you were on. Thank you so very much. Now you have a question or is this something still on your mind? Did I not cover something that you wanted covered? The next couple of episodes are going to be kind of Webinar focused. I want to talk about the client’s stories where we actually built a Webinar. Eventually we’ll get into other types of, we want to talk about the Webinar first cause this is the presentation funnel. The webinar is one of the best ways to actually start to scale your business. There’s a lot of reasons why Steven Larson just connected as high ticket offer, lab offer into presentation funnels or Webinars, and why Russell Brunson still says build a Webinar, scale it to a million duet live. It still works.

Boom. What is up guys? It is Monday baby and you are here with Ben Moote to Hack That Funnel Radio today we’re talking about how this game sometimes make you sick. So for the last three days, four days, five days, it’s been five days. I’ve been sick. Like I’m not talking about sick like I’ve been having, like if you could have a panic attack that’s an illness. That’s what it felt like. Like it was. I would sit at my desk and as I was working, suddenly I’d have instant vertigo and then all of my body would start tingling and then it would feel like I was extremely heavy. Like, suddenly I was a thousand pounds and then at the same time I’m still having vertigo. So I felt like I was a thousand pound elephant on a tight rope. And my heart started going, my heart, I was looking at my Apple Watch,  I have a watch and my heart rate was going from 55 to 170 back to 65 and it was, it was like everywhere. And I was freaking out. I was having serious issues and suddenly I had this headache and like my whole, I had serious pressure and I was exhausted and I just kinda keeled over like for the next couple of days I just laid in bed and I felt absolutely horrible. And the question is why the day before that I have a conversation with a good friend of mine who plays in the funnel game with us. And then we were talking about how to hack your mind because in a lot of ways we have these blueprints of why, why we don’t make money. Um, he was talking to me, he was saying, asking me why I hadn’t reached a certain income goal yet, and I was telling him that I hadn’t reached it yet because I, I’d make an excuse because you know, that would require me to do this. I don’t have the time for that. He goes, yeah, but you can systemize that you’ve done that before. Like, just turn that back on. Like, yeah, I could do that. Um, he’s like, so why don’t you, I’m like, well, because I really want to work on this product. And he goes, then it’s interesting to me every time you get to the point where you could have massive success, you pivot entirely to something else. What is going on? And so I had, I had given him a consultation that morning and he turned to me and was like, okay, I got more out of this last hour and a half than you can imagine. Like you’ve decreased my entire week. So let me help you with your mind because this is where I’m good. I’m a sales guy. The reason you’re not succeeding, Ben, it’s because you haven’t hacked your brain. You’re still relying on old money blueprints. Those of you who know I can’t remember even what it’s called. Holy Cow. I’m in trouble. Let me just pull up, pull it up on my computer really quick. I’m in trouble. Oh, for those of you who know the book, secrets of the millionaire mind, there it is. For those of you who know the book secrets of the millionaire mind, this is odd. Mainly what’s talked about in the main first beginning and as a sales professional, he saw this all the time. He was like, I’ve seen people who have the ability to make sales who are capable of making sales and you only make a certain amount and get sick right before they’re able to go forward. And then they just go back to the room of blueprints. What’s the difference? Why is that? And so we started talking and he’s like, Okay Ben, I need you to get out a piece of paper. So it got on a piece of paper. For those of you who are on YouTube, you can see the piece of paper. If you, if you’re not on YouTube, that’s okay. I’m going to read it out to you. We’re going to be good. And he said, I need you to write it. Take out a piece of paper. What are you going to use? You’re going to write every reason, everything you heard about money as a child.  So what are all the statements I’ve heard about money, wealth and rich people as a kid? What are those things that I’ve heard? And then how has that affected your life so far? And then what you’re supposed to do is you write down this big list and at the end of the day, you read this every single day you put your hand over your heart and you say, what I heard about money isn’t necessarily true. I choose to adopt new ways of thinking about thinking that support my happiness and success. And then if you follow the millionaire mind and then put your hand on your head and say, I have a million mind. So I started writing out my list. I got sick the day I started writing out this list and the day I got better last night, yesterday was the day I had a breakthrough where I finally was able to let this go. Literally, it lifted most in, in my, in my personal opinion, most illness is all emotional. And so this was definitely true for me. This is just the way it is. I, as an entrepreneur, as a funnel hacker, I worked with a lot of people who are, who work in the health industry or who work in this industry. I’ve worked for like everywhere. And I’ve heard all the different pitches, all the different ideas, and I love listening. One of the things that I love from all my naturalist wellness friends is that they talk about the importance that your health is first mental. And so and you, you make sure that your head is right and then everything kind of takes care of itself in a lot of ways. You can do other things that’ll support it, but that’s the underlying issues. And so I started to go in here and this is the things, these are the things that I’ve listed while I list this. I want you to get out a piece of paper or start taking mental notes or flip out your phone. If you’re not driving or you’re not running, cause you don’t want to run into a tree. Um, take out your notes and take, take, you know, whatever resonates with you. Write this down. This is very interesting. Here are the things that I’ve heard. I’m not made of money. We can’t afford that. That must be nice to have money all in quotes just because they have money that Dah, Dah, Dah, Dah. Okay, well at least he gives his money to good causes. You’ve heard that one. Do you know what that money could do for such and such person in that situation? I think they were undeserving of the money to begin with or they didn’t do what they should have done with that money when we don’t have any money anyways. Why are we sitting yet?  It isn’t fair. They have money just because just magically fell on them. We’ll never be millionaires. I remember when my mother told me that once, and she may or may not remember it. And you know what? We all have money blueprints. I’m not saying anything against my mother. Me and my mother are. Me and my mother are best friends. I love my mother to death and I wouldn’t say anything negative about her ever. I remember when she told me that, and I racked my brain on the flowers. I’m like, if you sum up all the money that dad’s made over his entire life, you will hit $1 million at some point. We won’t be millionaires. We just won’t have it all. At one point. That’s the difference. And she’s like, that’s what I’m saying. And I’m like, yeah, but at that point you’re still limiting yourself. So I disagreed, but I’d heard it keeping on going, I’ll never get x paid off my car, my house, my student loans. It’ll never be paid off. It’s not. It’s not worth it to pay those things off. It’s okay to seek wealth so long as you seek other things first. Like, I’m okay if you get wealthy and you’re, and you’re doing other things that are more important, that one, just Kay, if someone is willing to pay you, this is my dad, it’s my dad’s had floods. If someone’s willing to pay you, you work your best for them to prove that you are a, you were a good choice. And so they keep you. My father was one of the best people you could have hired and he is extremely meat in that he is strong, he is persevering. He will be the one of the most courageous people out there. But he’s not the person who will throw it in your face. And so he was laid off a lot. And so once I started getting to the age every two weeks, a month after they laid him off, they always wanted to rehire him. And he was like, I can’t trust you. Ooh, I need to write that one down. I can’t trust you. And so he came to me with those beliefs and said to me, Ben, when someone is willing to pay you, so willing to hire you, you work your butt off to prove it. You prove to them every single minute that you are worth the higher, and that helped me a ton in the employee space, but when you get out of the employee space, I was, I was doing that same type of heavy lifting work for someone to pay me $7 an hour or someone who made 150 an hour. You do the math. It’s all because of the belief. Here’s another one. Everyone who starts a business loses their families. I’m not willing to risk it. It’s something I heard as a kid. By the way, All those families, I knew them and they were rich. Rich people are too busy to spend time with their families. Rich folks, values are all different. Money confuses good people. My whole goal is to be a good person. Like I was an eagle scout at age 13. I wanted to meet, not just being an Eagle Scout, I want to be an eagle scout faster than I could possibly ever be. And then I wanted to keep going. Like I want to earn all my palms and all that stuff for all of it. You know what Eagle Scout is and all this stuff that comes afterwards. Okay, I want to join order the Arrow and I want to do all this stuff.  I always wanted to be the good kid. I was wanting to make everybody happy. That belief money confuses good people. I was wanting to be the good person. I never wanted money because it would confuse me. I’m scared to death of that. Money can be like a poison, corrupting good people. I’m still writing them down as they come. And as I was writing these down, I literally got sick and it’s okay so long as you keep working on it.  There were a couple of days I did not work on it. I just felt horrible and I just laid there feeling horrible for coming. Honey, are you okay on, I don’t know. I really don’t know. I’ll be okay, but this sucks and the light bulb turned on when I was literally able to say, those beliefs are not true. A lot of these things you write down as statements, you heard some of them and you’re like, well, yeah, that’s the fact, like money corrupts people. That may be a fact for you, but it’s not the truth. The truth is different. There are people who have money and who are good people. There are people who deserve every ounce of that because not because of what they do with it, because of who they are and what they stand for and what they’ve done to provide value in the marketplace for it. There are things that you don’t remember as a kid that had been implanted. They may or may not be correct, but your job is to write them all down and simply state, you don’t state these are all wrong. Put your hand over heart. You don’t say, these are all wrong and I will never do these. No. What you state is what I heard about money isn’t necessarily true. I choose to adopt new ways of thinking that support my happiness and success. I choose to adopt new ideas. I choose to change. I choose to change a lot of what we do in this whole space of business. We talk about making them money. We talk about getting the rapport or standing on stage. We talk about getting to know all these different things. They’re great like they’re ego boosters so it’s nice. Okay, but the real reason a lot of people are already in business and they stay in business is because it is the biggest self help program available because you hit these walls, you hit these blueprints, you hit these pain points and the only way to get past them is to grow yourself first. You have to grow yourself before you can grow anybody else before you can grow your team, before you can grow your systems, you have to change, but you have to be excited to change. I was scared to death of changing last week I changed and that change has adjusted everything. I whole mind focuses. How can I change? How can I adjust? How can I find out? How can I, how can I do this now? How can I do that? And suddenly the world is so much bigger and the opportunities literally all around and I’m just like dying. Okay, we get out of here. I got out of school for business and when I was in college and I’m like, okay, I just need to find a good business that has a good idea and maybe I’ll be an entrepreneur if I can find an idea. Now I have way too many ideas, way too many opportunities and were all really big ideas and I’m so excited. I’m so excited! But you’ll find in your life, in your business, if you’re committed to this game, there are going to be things that you’re going to hit. They will impede your progress, but there is a way to hack your mind. There’s a way to hack your mind. And the way to do it is literally to be excited to change. Put your hand over your heart and say, what I heard about this isn’t necessarily true. I choose to adopt new ways of thinking that support my happiness and success. Then you can put your hand on your head if you want and do the rest. Thank you to so many people, guys, you don’t. A lot of the times you see the person on the video, you see the person who is talking, you see all these things. We stand on the shoulders of somebody else who gave us the confidence and the hope and the faith to do more. And that’s all you need is the confidence, the hope and the faith. Faith is just belief in action. Doing it. Just get out there and do it. Okay? You’re gonna fail. You’re gonna fall on your face. That’s fine. Keep falling in your face. Okay? Eventually I learn how to walk and you’ll be a bypass like the rest of us. Okay, guys, have a wonderful day. This is really important to everything. Learn to change, learn to grow. That’s how you hack your mind. That’s how you overcome the sickness and that’s how you become somebody who can change the world.

Ben:                          Hey there, everybody! Today we have something very, very special. We have a special interview with Amanda Dake who is not only a hockey mom, she is also a speaker, author and creator of the funnel attrition. So Amanda, thank you for coming on the podcast and really appreciate it. I love being able to talk with you.   Amanda:               Thanks Ben. I’m super excited to be here with you today. Ben:                          So really quick, everybody gets into this funnel game a little bit different. I know I came in back in, I came in officially in 2013 when Click Funnels started in 2014 this is when I came in. What was your story like? How did you get involved? Were you involved in this space before click funnels existed? What’s your story about why you came into this, this world? Amanda:               Well, something that a lot of people may not know about me was I was a high school science teacher for 12 years before I started this official entrepreneur journey. And after 12 years of that you know, I realized my purpose here is to have as much impact on as many people as possible. And while I was impacting, you know, people while I was teaching, it just wasn’t big enough for me. Right. I was only able to reach about 120, 150 kids a year. I knew that I just needed more. And not only that, you know, teachers just don’t make a lot of money and it takes a lot of time. And so there are a lot of other factors that came into my decision to just leave that career and start something on my own. In 2011, I started my own business and I was basically just helping different businesses with their social media.                                     Facebook was relatively new at that time. Twitter was brand new at that time. And WordPress was king really, uh, for website. Every, every website, every business had some type of WordPress something. So really I was self taught to master all of these systems and I started helping local restaurants and businesses like a fitness studio and other things with their social media management running very basic ads cause that’s really the only kind of ads you could run back then. Primarily for lead generation to make sales or anything online. And then updating their current websites, not building new ones. But I realized to these small businesses, we’re spending thousands of dollars for these web developers to be on retainer to go in and update, save their hours of operation or add a new photo or something like that. So my goal for these businesses was to help them save time and save money and maximize what it is that they’re trying to do in the community.                                     That worked out really, really well. And I just like with funnels, I was able to go out, like I set my intention, I went out and I got, you know, four or five clients and that replaced my income as a teacher and allowed me to have the freedom and flexibility that I wanted to have in my life. So one of my clients, his name is Seth Humphrey, he’s actually been my performance coach, uh, for the last four years. And um, but he is the fitness owner that I was helping with his social media and his lead Gen and everything like that. Well, Seth went through a program, much like Garrett White’s warrior training. In fact, his coaches were graduates of that training. So it was kind of like a level down from Gareth’s program. Well, Garrett white is a huge proponent of click funnels, right? And he’s been in since the beginning.                                     And in Gareth’s program, the only this he focused on, you know, your fitness and your family and everything else like that. He also focuses on helping you increase your business. And naturally he was telling all of the people in his program to use click funnels. So Seth said, hey, we’re getting ready to use click funnels. You need to figure out what that is cause we’re going to start doing it. And I was like, okay, this was back in 2014 when basically click funnels was just born, like very much Beta and maybe even just right out of Beta. So I was like, alright, let’s go. And so I taught myself the platform, relatively simple to use. Uh, it was the first version of it, which I think is called the classic editor. Now if you go in, you can see what it kind of looked like.                                     It’s, it’s just, it’s really spectacular how things just kind of have fallen into place. Um, I remember at that first funnel hacking live and all the other sense, but Garrett White was a speaker and really if we boiled it down and took out all the layers, Garrett is why I was doing what I was doing because he was coaching my guy on what to use. And so I remember I met him at in person at that event and I cried literally because it was like one of those full circle moments like, oh my gosh, you’re the reason that I’m here and now I’m here talking with you. I’m getting my picture with you. And it was a, it was a very powerful emotional moment, but it just made me realize how sure my path was. Like it was, it was really awesome. Ben:                          Garrett commands this presence and I love watching him speak every single time because it doesn’t matter if he’s on stage or you’re watching a video, the minute he gets on, he demands your attention and you listen because I don’t think anybody knew this. He was a PE teacher too. Yeah, he was a PE teacher. So when you hear him yelling and staring it up, I imagine myself as 11 year olds going on. So that’s really cool that everyone’s coming from an education background. I think it’s interesting too, the, everyone’s coming from the education background is trying to create a bigger education, a bigger movement, and a bigger change. You’re making, you’re doing the exact same thing, but you’re playing in the funnel space and helping people understand how to build funnels that will change lives. Right? Amanda:               And that’s the Funnel Kitchen! Yeah, I do, I help a lot of different types of businesses and people, but I love working with coaches and consultants and others that want to have like more massive impact on the people they’re trying to help. And, uh, what I’m able to do is really help them create more leverage in their business, uh, with online courses. And you know, I have a master’s degree in education and, uh, I actually started working on my phd, for awhile. And so my experience and education, uh, paired with their level of genius and their goals, it really helps solidify their product or offering that they can reach more people. So a lot of the people that I work with, they, and most of us had started out working one on one with clients, right? And there’s only so much of us to go around and one on one while it’s really important to have those types of clients, I think don’t, I don’t ever want to get rid of that part, but it’s really hard when you’re starting out to command the type of prices to make it worth it.

Hey there everybody! This episode we’re going to talk about what you do if you’re not a funnel builder. I got started in this Funnel game six years ago. It was on my birthday, about six months into my corporate job. In those six months I was going, “This is not where I want to be.” I wasn’t feeling fulfilled. I literally felt like I had to get to know my wife again every time I came home. I felt like my life was being sucked out of me and it was like I was a phantom or something. I didn’t have a life outside of work. And my life outside of work and something I had to reengage in all over again. It was painful. My job was to make the big guys look good. That was my job. Make the big guys look good and we’re good to go. That didn’t feel very good for me either. So what was the point? I didn’t understand. Well, you get to climb the ladder. I liked, I like Robert Kiyosaki’s idea of building a ladder and that’s kind of where I went. That made much more sense to me and I totally got hooked on Robert Kiyosaki that it was kind of my introduction. I bought first product on my birthday jumped into the online marketing world, started digesting, started learning. I learned, that I needed an opt in page. And then… oh, I need an autoresponder. Oh, there’s html code. Suddenly building out and online business sucked. Like I suddenly had to be a tech guru. Now I love, I love Microsoft Excel. I’m good at html, WordPress, not so much. I’m not the king there What I do understand drag and drop. And so I started building businesses websites. So I’d build a website for a business and I would use drag and drop templates with like Weebly or wix in order to build that for them. So that way in my excuses, now I built it for you. You can use it. It doesn’t take a genius to understand drag and drop and now you can use it for your business no matter where you go. But I didn’t understand it and that’s okay. Once they started talking about needing an often page, the sales funnel, one click upsells, I was like, ton, this is not going to be an option for me. Month later, oh no, right? One month later I got a free book from this guy called Russell Brunson called 108 Split Tests. Now I had done a lot of research on the important of testing. I learned about it when I was at my corporate job. Super big deal. So here’s a guy talking about it, something legitimate in online marketing. This guy must understand only marketing the way it’s supposed to work. So I went and I bought 108 split tests. Well, that has a traffic secrets upsell. I bought it. That had another upsell, and I bought that. At that point they were like, “Oh, he is a hot buyer!” We can sell this kid something. This is before Click Funnels. I ended up joining the Russell Brunson’s Inner Circle and then when I joined the Inner Circle, they did something really cool. They said, ps were coming out with this software. We’re coming out with a software, it’s called a Click Funnels. Right now we think and we’re going to open up a Beta to everybody here. Now it’s going to break. It’s not going to be perfect, but we’re going to open up. I was like, okay, cool. This is going to be neat. Everything was unique. It was all very different, very different, and I got in and my world exploded. There was something I could use. I didn’t have to be a techie. I didn’t have to be crazy, but I did have to understand how something worked. There was a learning curve, but I could do it. So what’s an, I do like a geek guy. I went and read all their support documentation. I read it, I watched the videos, I asked questions. I was that kid. This worked. It didn’t require me to do all this fancy stuff. I could do something called an API connection. That was a little complicated for me, but that’s okay. They, they said grab this code and paste it here. So I do it and it worked. I started building funnels in a month that I didn’t think I was going to be able to do in several years because I was not a tech guru. Click Funnels made that bridge for me. So you say to me, Ben, I’m not a funnel builder. I say, that’s fine. Are you a marketer? And if you’re a marketer you should understand the basics of funnel building. Okay, that’s it’s simple as going into Click Funnels, understanding the flow of a funnel, how to make it work, how drag and drop one click upsells, how do they work? Very simple. They come with templates so that way you can just add the template into your page. You’re good to go. It’s tight. It’s really, really nice. It works really, really well. Okay, so I started learning with Click Funnels. Everything changed for me. I’m telling you, if you’re not a funnel builder, learn, take a little bit of time and understand this drag and drop system because it will change your life. If you understand everything that Russell Brunson talks about, if you understand that hacking your funnel is the way to go, but you’re like, I’m not a funnel builder, Valley guys, there are a lot of other painful situations for you to be in. It used to be a lot more difficult. It’s kind of like, you know back when you had the rotary phone or you had to choose, now you got your cell phone, which is not only your cell phone. Now with your business on demand can, you can walk around all day with this sucker and do everything or you’re going to tell me, Ben, I’m not a mobile phone person in today’s world. Are you serious? Are you serious? I mean I have family that are still on flip phones. I understand, but they at least have a mobile phone. Someone mentioned funnels as a “funnel bubble.” Okay, well was there good thing before you get scared and in the economy, a bubble is a good thing. It means there is growth in bubble explodes in that growth outpaces what it shouldn’t be doing. We’re not there. The funnel is still growing. We’re in a space where this is going to expand and become something amazing. You’re going to see big people start implementing this throughout all of their systems because it’s working and it’s powerful. But the way to make it work is to understand it. There is a limited small introduction, little bit of education that you need to do in order to understand how funnels work. Even if you’re not a funnel builder, understand how it works. Be able to drag and drop, understand the basics, and then if you’re really stuck and if you’re really stuck, hire somebody else to do it. Just hire somebody to do it. There’s a lot of places you can find somebody but at least understand the basics so that way you can be in charge of your marketing, your business and you can be on the next bubble of growth that is growing in today’s industry. So moral of the story, same way that the phone became something totally new, the Internet is becoming funnels and it’s your job to learn that, especially for your business. Understand that, go through it and it’ll make a difference for your business. The world’s going to keep changing. The funnel will adjust, but today what is working is a marketing funnel. So learning to be at least a C grade funnel builder. Let someone else do the rest. If you need to have built, put in the dedication and understand so that way you’re not caught off guard when this bubble grows and you still have a website.

How’s it going guys? Today we’re going to be talking about the biggest issue in the Internet marketing industry.  That holds a big promise. So I have to start out with this little summary. The biggest issue in online marketing, what is it? What’s the industry’s issue been like? I tell, I’ll talk out with, start out with a story because I’ve don’t start with a story. You’re not gonna get it.  You’re gonna be like, yeah, whatever. So when I was a kid, my parents took me from when I was in elementary school, my parents would take me from sport to sport to sport, to sport. I tried basketball, I tried baseball. I tried, I don’t even know what else I tried. All I know is it was all agonizing. It was horrible. And I was not a sports guy. I tried running but sucked. Like I could not figure out what my sport was and I really just wanted my sport to be Saturday morning cartoons. I love that. I’m gonna take that any day of the week. A watch me some X-Men and Power Rangers- I was that kid. I ran funny. Finally, we were living in Washington state and I was playing at recess and the big thing out there where I was at was soccer. And I was playing soccer with the big kids and there was this kid who was really freaking good and he kind of took me under his wing as I cured, this is how you be a goalie and stuff. And of course the horrible story do you get hit right and where it hurts, does how it works in soccer.  And I realized I can get hurt, but that’s as bad as it’s gonna hurt. I jumped into soccer, I played it for three seasons. I had a great time in elementary school, and I was on the absolute worst team possible. We lost every game. We may be scored twice a season. The best team in the season, what’s called the in the league, was called The Sharks and still am an elementary school. But it’s so good. There were The Sharks and they had these really cool uniforms is like green and purple and purple and green and the socks rotated again. It was really, really crazy. And there were so good that their coach made rules about what they had to do before they could score on us. So they had to pass it so many times forward and backwards and do these things before they could shoot on goal. And one of the guys who was a hothead was just like forget this and went into the goal and he made the goal and the coach pulled him out of the game. I was like, good, okay, you’re not supposed to go, go, go. Which made us feel horrible. We lost all the time, but that was just sad.  I love the game. I still love playing. I loved talking to the other team members. I was the dream kid. Well our coach had enough and our coach was like, you know, I did this for my son. I’m burnt out. I’m done. And you got us all little pins and a, those pins I still hold on to today. Well, all these other kids went in, they started off, they’re really cool team. They were supposed to be the best in the league.  and they wanted to be the best in the league. They wanted to be The Sharks. And they put me in the, in the little lottery system to figure out where I was going to go. And I had no idea. They put me in the very best team I was in with The Sharks and I was the kid who couldn’t play. Like I sucked at this day, I can comparison like they would maybe we were going to be running down the field and they’d like give me the ball and I would shoot it like 50 feet the other direction. Like I was bad.  And  after keeping on going, they just kept moot. Come on, Moote. Come on, come on. One of the kids, the hothead that I talked about earlier, he joined my class. So he was in my class when I was in school and suddenly I think his name’s Bryce. But we became like friends and he was like, dude, you come to practice and of course I’m going to practice. He’s like, all right, you’re gonna do great. And gradually I stopped seeing myself as the kid who was meant to fail. I stopped seeing myself as the kid on the team who failed and they’re the team that always won. I stopped seeing that they won. They’d won every game since second grade and they played fall and spring, fall and spring, and they had not lost a game ever since. Second Grade was a tight knit group, very focused. My very first game I played with them, I played for only the little times so it’s not my fault. They lost and they literally came back and they just started balling. They started crying and I’m looking, going, I’m playing with the cool kids. Why is everybody sad? Like losing? It’s normal to me and I got to see behind this curtain and they all started crying and the coach goes, you’re taking hard. I can see that. If you never want to lose again, I will create the hardest regimen for you guys ever and if you follow it, I will guarantee you we’ll never lose, but you have to follow it. Everyone said, yeah, that’s what I’m going harder. I saw behind this veil where the perfect jobs of soccer and my sixth grade mind, we’re human and I couldn’t be here. I was human. By the time that that season was almost over, I was a starter on the team. I was passing the ball where it was supposed to go. I was making my own goals. I was doing better than anybody thought I could even my parents. And we actually had to move early. My parents moved a lot. My dad always got another job somewhere else and his physical therapy. And so we were moving a 350 miles away. And my last game, all of the kids gathered around me and they signed my jersey. That Jersey is still gold to me guys. This is the biggest issue with the Internet marketing space. The issue is we think we’re on the dumb team and we think that people on the camera or the people in the podcast or on the cool team, and we could never be like them.  We could never push beyond this. I was listening to Tony Robbins talk about this yesterday and he literally said, everyone says I can’t be Tony Robbins. They don’t understand, and you’ve got to do big boys. They don’t understand. I created Tony Robbins. We are the masters of our destiny and we are limited by our view. And when you look at those videos, whether the guy is sitting next to his Mercedes or whatever he’s doing, whatever the person is doing, it doesn’t matter. Even if they’re just, you know, they’re successful and they’re talking to you. Understand, as my wife tried to tell me for years, they put their pants on one leg at a time. These people are human.  I got to see this firsthand when I started to work at a bigger company and our online marketing industry. For those of you guys who are on the podcast, I used to work at ClickFunnels for a very short period of time and I got to meet Russell Brunson, the man… he’s human. We’re all human and the only difference between the A players and the B players and the C players, which I was and have been for years on the online marketing world is how you perceive yourself. There is nothing different. The only difference is who is willing to push through constant pain and keep pushing. You make a decision, you move forward. The biggest issue with the online marketing industry is we’re trying to sell wealth and in selling wealth we have to show that we have wealth and in showing that we have wealth, we scare folks off. People look and they go, I’m not bad and you sell the dream, but in truth, until you help people get over that hump of believing that they can be whatever that aspirational goal is until you can help people understand that they can be there too by seeing through the curtain, pull the curtain aside, let them see you cry at them. See Life happen. I promise when that happens, 1) they will follow you harder. You will build a culture that is unstoppable. 2) You’ll make more money. People buy from people they trust, but you have to be able to take that curtain back. If you could get that right, just about everything else can come pretty easily. There’s an education process. That happens in any thing you do. You’re going to suck at something for awhile, but sucking at something does not mean you cannot make it and you keep pushing and you keep focusing. You have tenacity, which is another second thing my coach would yell at us. Tenacity, Moote tenacity! It was our call. You have to keep forward pushing forward. You can get there. You can be one of the cool kids, you can be the cool kid on the team. You can be one of them. You can be just like them because at the end of the day, we’re all human. That’s the biggest end issue with the online marketing industry.

Ben:                          Hey there everybody! On today’s episode we have Austin Ford we’re gonna be talking about how he makes the rain fall for people who are ready to make money online. Austin:                    What’s up everybody? How’s it going? I’m glad to be here. Thanks for having me here, Ben. Ben:                          Absolutely. Thanks for being here! So you have you built, so I met you, met you a while ago, but we met really at funnel hacking live when it’s first time I actually saw your face and you were just getting ready to launch your own challenge, right? You’ve hacked a whole bunch of challenge funnels. Now you have your own system that helps people do the same. I’ve had an agency for a while and we build funnels for people, right? Austin:                    Yes! We would do Facebook ads, we would do bots, we would do all types of different funnels, webinar funnels, squeeze pages, high ticket application funnels, like all kinds of stuff. A myriad of things for clients, right? And last year, I got a lot of anxiety, every time somebody new came into my business. And I was like, and the reason I got anxiety was, was because my agency, my team had to reinvent the wheel every time we got a new client because they’d always want something different, right? And I got to a point where I was just frustrated with everything I was about to shut my entire process down and restructure the company I would’ve had. And I made a post in the Two Comma Club group coaching program, which Ben’s part of too, and I put a post scenario, I said, hey guys, like, you know, like this is giving me anxiety. Austin:                    And I said,I can’t take it anymore. Like what should I do? Right? And I remember Steven Larson jumping on there and commenting and saying, Yo dude, like less than one a phone call, right? So we ended up jumping on a phone call and the hour conversation, I can sum it up into two or three words. He said, Austin, you’re a nobody, right? Because nobody knew what I did. And the problem was I was doing everything and he was like, you need to ditch down and do one thing. All the stress will go away and your income works flowed, right? So he wanted me to be the bad guy. I didn’t want to be the black guy. Got off the phone call, jumped on ’em. I jumped on a two CCX cruise a couple months later and I was sitting down at my hito bar next to this named Latasha. She’s an influence marketer.                                     And I was telling her the same thing about my anxiety and my agency and all this other stuff. And she’s like, you need to niche down and do one thing. And she says, why don’t you just focus on challenge folks? Right? And I was like, ma’am, you’re so right. Right? So I ended up jumping off the ship. We had never built a challenge funnel in my agency before. So I went to, I went out there, I spent like $1,200 the first week hacking, dozens of different challenges, right? And I went through the entire process, all this funnel hacking, but Ben talks about a lot, right? I just went through the process. I pull up the emails, I looked at their sales page, I looked how they were selling stuff at the end. And that’s how I kind of became the challenge funnel cake.                                     So fast forward a little bit, I restructured my entire company. We restructured our entire booth at funnel hacking live where me and Ben met and we were, yeah, we were setting things up. And that’s when we launched our first challenge to teach other people how to create and build the challenges. And from there it’s been absolutely successful. We’ve had 150 people go through the program and we’ve had countless people come out of the program launching their challenge funnels, making 40 50, 60 a hundred thousand dollars their first month with a challenge funnel. So these are like, this is like one of the greatest things that I have ever laid my hands on and it also allowed me to kind of break free and I don’t have any more pressure on my chest. Right. I feel like I know what I need to talk about. I know what my message is now.   (listen to get more...)

This is the story. I have built funnels for hundreds of clients. I have at the time of this making this blog post, hundreds of funnels, had hundreds of clients, tons of my own funnels. And I was going to Funnel Hacking Live and I said, you know what? I have something worth providing. I want to put it together, we’re going to sell those darn sucker. And so I started putting it together and I started getting marketing together and they offered a booth at funnel hacking live and I went, yeah right… A booth. I wonder what if I, what if I bought one? So I made the $2,500 investment and got a booth. I was freaking out.  But at this point I’d spent more than that on ad several times and it hadn’t made anything. So this point I’m like, it’ll be a great educational experience and I hope I make money. So I’m kind of expecting things at this point. And I went and I gave out tons of stuff! Like it took off on fire like I never thought it would, which told me, yes, I’m speaking in the right spot, which is why I’ve created the podcast. And it changed my entire business focus fact that I can provide something of worth. And uh, and it was specifically, that was great. That was a wonderful event. That was a wonderful moment. But then we switched over and a week later I sold a product to that group. And this is the video of what happened after I sold it. And so you’re going to keep trying, you’re going to keep building funnels up there, you’re going to keep throwing offers out there. You’re just going to keep going, keep going. Like even when things don’t work, keep throwing it out there because every time you do your learning, I can’t tell you how many courses I’ve taught or I had maybe 45 people at four or five people on four or five people on a course. And I still did all six modules. Sometimes there’s nobody on late guys. I practice. And sometimes you practice in front of an audience of new buddy. But eventually it works. Eventually it works. And I want to share with you the emotional glory and happens when it does. So this is a video I shot right after the sales pitch on, on the Webinar that I did in the week after and a shot at right after. And you can enjoy it. I’m going to be really honest. I would freak out moment guys. I have built so many funnels, for myself.  And I never felt like it was actually going to work. I never did it so often. I always believed the success was for somebody else. I always believe that it was, it was so ingrained, I just could not make it work. I believed in the system. I believed it could work, but I didn’t believe that it would work for me. I spent a lot of money, probably more than I needed to. I haven’t made money back entirely. That’s fine. But I found what works and it works for me. That works for me. So, just to give you a bit of a timeline for some of your, like Ben, you’re just having this realization now. Come on. Oh, it’s painful. It’s painful because I should have known this, but I did not have the belief in myself. I don’t mind doing this for clients. I love doing it for clients and I believe in the clients. And it’s that belief in the client work and the client that really makes them feel special. I believe they can do it, but when I turn to myself, I don’t have that at all. I didn’t, holy crap. So I did that. So I launched funnel prospect or I did the map. I did the event. Um, a lot of people thought I was an influencer. A lot of people thought a lot of stuff. I wasn’t trying to make myself something that wasn’t just was people were responding that way. Here’s chicken. I didn’t get all that many optins from it. So then I spent some money on Facebook ads and got some opt ins. They’re interesting to see, which I got sales from a funnel hacking live or from Facebook. And I’ll see that later. I did my five hour training was like a six hour training and then it didn’t record. And so I spent the next couple of days rerecording it and editing it. And then I just told everybody it was live. I’m still crazy busy. Like I should be working hardcore right now and I will, but I have three sales already for the $297 product. I know. Let’s not allow them money to a lot of people. My very first sale online, my very first sale was $297 and I spent $1,500 to get it. And I had no idea where it came from. All I know is okay, this works. But I felt like it was like that one in 1,000,001 in a thousand. It’s kind of like when I was just at funnel hacking live and they pulled my name for a free ticket. I was like, what do you mean a free ticket chicken? And just threw me off entirely. I didn’t know if it was actually gonna work. If felt like it was just one of those random lotto things. It’s not, this can work and it can be done. Um, there is an initial investment of time, lots of time, lots of trying, lots of failing. Oh my gosh. Lots of failing. But when you know things and you’re able to teach them, teach them, get out in front of people and teach them and then make them an offer and people, it just resonates. I don’t, I don’t know why it resonates. Three sales to two 97, three sales at 97 and 11 sales for just the funnel map. That was four 95 for the funnel map. Um, the early sales were $97 and the late sales for two 97. So I have six people in the course so far and the replay isn’t even up when the replays up. We’re going to be doing a, I’ll be doing an email campaign, um, to try and go get people to buy before the replay is down. And then it’s creating the membership area and cutting up the videos and creating some kind of a workbook kind of thing. I didn’t think it was going to work in the word. No, mine is just kind of blown right now. Like I have a headache, from everything I’ve been doing from everything that’s breaking and everything that I’d still need to do. Um, but this whole online information business thing, you see all the people on the stage, you know, it’s possible, it can happen. Did you see it happen for yourself? Put some wind in your sails. I’ll tell you what, the wind is just blowing in the sails right now and I’ll want to do is work on that. I don’t want to do client work, which is the main goal. Um, I only want to work with two or three clients just because I don’t have the time. And, uh, those clients I want to work with. I want to get them like super success. This point I can get people small success. Um, but I’ve got so many on my plate, I can’t focus. I just can’t and it’s really painful. So we’re going to be unlocking that here soon and I’ve got my whole, well, let me show you. Oh, I’ve got my giant white board of course behind me. Then I’ve got this little white board. I’ve drawn up my map or my value ladder. I know what I’m doing. I’m building up the podcast, the YouTube channel, the blog, a little bit of the blog. I’m telling them map. Then I’m going to be doing and then the map with all the upsells, which I’ve just proven now. Oh my gosh guys. You have no idea what that takes off my shoulders. Yeah. Believe it’s real. Oh, and I haven’t even made any money. Really. I’m still negative. I don’t care. Next is going to be a done for you hack, which I’m going to sell, which I don’t have done yet. Um, I’m creating that with my, with everybody. And then it’s going to be the high ticket sales. So high ticket done for you funnel builds. So that’s my map. That’s where I’m going. And it’s crazy. All my life, I sweated sweat for money. Oh, my life and those five hours. Yeah, that was definitely a lot. But I think the six hours plus the five hours plus all the hours in between, let’s divide that by the amount of money that I’ve made. This can work and these are assets I’ve been building assets that will continue to make money. That’s, that’s the cool thing. Like I built on that foundation. Suddenly what everybody says is like, it’s becoming a reality in my life. And it’s really weird. But I’m really grateful. So wanted to share that one with you and that realization because if you’re filling the exact same way, it’s just a matter of time. And as a matter of failing forward and being able to take a couple of hits. I mean I’ve been in this game for five years. Yeah. It takes you take a couple hits, you learn the game the best where you can. I learned it in the agency style first and more like freelancer and then I’ve learned it for myself. But it’s learnable. You can do it. And did you have a coach? You can go a lot faster. So, which I did, which I won’t tell you that story, but that by paying for that coaching program just kicked my rear end gear and this is all happening because of it. So signing off, I should actually get back to work guys. Please believe. Please make it happen and I can’t wait to see where I go from here. This is going to be so tight. Okay. Gotta go. I got clients asking me questions and stuff. Goodbye.

There’s a side to this whole online business thing that nobody is willing to talk about. It’s the reason why you don’t launch your funnel. It’s the reason why you don’t launch your product or you do your Facebook videos or do you know your YouTube videos or your podcasts or all the reasons you’re things you should be doing. The reason that you’re not doing it, the reason you’re not launching and the reason is quite honestly emotional. If it was as simple as take these steps, anybody can do it. Everybody wouldn’t be able to do it and they’d be fine. And that is true, but there are emotional hurdles that you have to get over and nobody really prepares you for. I was really considering the fact that I should position myself as a funnel therapist because when I help my clients, I would toast them through. Okay, you’re gonna feel like crap. It’s okay. No, no, no, no. You’re not crap. It’s all right.  You know what? It’s okay. We got this. When did you see this? When we got this? When life’s great. There’s some coaching that needs to happen and not everybody’s there to help you. It kind of follows the pieces. And what I wanted to do is share with you, when I was preparing for a launch, I was actually preparing to launch this podcast. I want to share it with you kind of the behind the scenes. I do something really weird when I have a moment that I know is like serious. I start recording, I start talking about how I feel. And so what I want to show you is a video of myself emotionally breaking down before I publish this podcast. There are reasons behind that. There are, there are things in your mind that are trying to keep you from succeeding. And it’s just the way our brains are wired.  Some of us, our brains aren’t wired to be out there in public. Like we’ll have a freak out about it. Some of us have a freak out about actually making money and we do everything we can to not make money. All of us are wired differently and you kinda need a therapy session. The therapy session that I choose because it helps me get over it and it helps everybody else is to share the crap, share it and get the heck over it so that way I can show that you can get over it. You can keep moving. It’s a release. And then I have to keep moving because everybody is watching. It’s something that I learned from a great friend of mine and I highly, highly recommend it. The whole publishing game, it’s really about being real. And so I want to share with you what it’s like because we absolutely honest, it’s put up as this great grand thing that you are just gonna break down the barriers and be the man or be the woman you’re going to make it happen. Tell you what, it’s not that easy. You might have moments where you have a panic attack of sorts like you see me have here. I’m going to show you that just so you know, I turned out healthy. I’ve got a friend that I reach out to and talk to about this kind of stuff. Every once in a while he’s like, dude, you get anxiety. No, I don’t. My anxiety sucks. And then I’m like, Huh, anxiety sucks. I don’t got it. And I just move on. I’m feeling like I can’t do anything. Like I’m stuck. And like there’s no freaking room. So if any of you seen like spider man inspired or mind is stuck under all the rubble, that’s out oh three. Oh that’s the most recent one. That’s a homecoming. I feel like that it’s like, I can do this. I can make a difference. I can do all this stuff. And the minute that I start to do things, this building, this invisible building falls on me and I can’t move. I’m just emotionally stuck and because my emotions are stuck, my brain function, I can’t think about what to do. Every time I start to like, my emotions get more dramatic. I’m sitting here in front of my computer and, uh, trying to look at the, to do lists, trying to look at the, uh, at the at which are pressing some pressing things. I gotta do a super, super pressing. Um, I looked at my to do list and I started to listen to the, to the music that usually picks me up and gets me going. And right now all it’s doing is just making me want to cry. I’m not telling you any of this to say, please pity me. I’m publishing this because it sucks and I’ll find a way through it. Whether or not that means I have to say yes, I have anxiety and this is how I deal with it. Whenever the reason, whatever it is. Like that’s life. I’m doing this to state. It happens to everybody at every step. This is the, it’s gotta be at least the eighth product launch I’ve ever done. It was painful and I’m excited for it. I’m, I’m more than excited, but at the same time I am right now frozen. I don’t know why. No, that was just like pressure building in my chest. You’re like, Ben, go see a doctor. It’s I think you got it all down. I could sing in front of people. I can. I can act in front of people. I can do all that stuff. This is art. Truth is, life is going to be hard. That doesn’t mean you stop. Let me do adjusting to move forward. That’s what every superhero film is about. I said, every great character arc is ever about. You look at Arthur, you look at you, any character arc. It’s all about finding that weakness and moving forward. Anyways, it’s hard, but you have to understand that you are today living your origin story and every day is an origin story and there’s a reason that they can make iron man one, two, three and then creating a vendors and then throw them in a vendor’s movies and then still have this character are going because he deals with something that is eating at him and the overcomes until at the end of the day he is iron man. Those of you who’ve seen endgame, you understand that. Every part of your story is part of your origin story. It is a hero’s journey. Life is a hero’s journey. It’s just the way it goes and we all have ups and downs. We all are humbled and smacked around. It makes us more human, more relatable, more open to others. It makes us more capable of moving forward.

Ben:                          Hey everybody, welcome to Hack That Funnel Radio. I’m so happy that you are here. We’re going to be talking today with Bailey Richard, who has built a business for herself that she loves building on everyday and has made her $1 million. We’ll be talking about that.                                     Bailey built her dream business.  Now I’ll let her kind of talk about her backstory, but really she’s built a dream lifestyle business where she can do what she wants, where she wants and how she wants to do it. She’s done it successfully and she’s gone on a path that a lot of us have and some of us think may have been the perfect way to be, you know, to succeed. But she changed in a lot of ways. I’ll let her talk about that but thank you for being on Bailey. I appreciate it. Bailey:                    Thank you so much for having me. It’s a pleasure from the first time I heard about you, it was on the 30days.com when they did the summit and you were leading the summit, you’re doing all the interviews and on the background I believe you are scheduling everything. I’m making it all work, correct?                                     Yes, that’s true. I actually doing this summit was my idea. I had come to wrestle and said, hey, why don’t we do a ClickFunnel summit? He had already been thinking about doing the 30 days concept but as a book and so essentially I said, hey, if you let me organize and manage this summit project, we can do the book in the summit together. What do you think about that? And he said, let’s do it. Ben:                          Well, and that’s, that’s the best way to go at, at someone who’s as busy as Russell as you come over and like, I’ll just take care of everything and just we’ll add it onto yours and it will be great. Yup. You don’t have to do anything. Right. Bailey:                    Exactly. Ben:                          That is so cool. And then I saw you spoke on stage at funnel hacking live. Yeah. I’m just talking about the summit funnel. Bailey:                    Yup, exactly. This past February, so we did such an amazing job with the 30 day summit, had such incredible results. This was in the fall of 2018 that Russell said, you know, I think that we should talk about the concept of virtual summits at funnel hacking live. What do you think? Would you like to speak on that? And I said, absolutely.  Ben:                         That is so cool. Oh No, I can’t imagine how scary it is on that stage. There were like 3000 people there. Bailey:                    Oh, there was more. I think there was about 4,000  Ben:                         That was so big. And they’re doing it again at the same place… Bailey:                    yeah. You know, it’s funny though because the truth is it’s so dark you can’t see anybody pass the first or second row. And so you know, really if you just, you know, keep just thinking that you’re playing to those individuals. That’s really the key. Plus, you know, admittedly I have a background speaking on stage and doing things like that and yeah, I think to be honest, I was actually a bit more nervous when I was dancing in the back with Russell and dean Graziosi and like all of the other incredible, you know, set, you know, such wonderful entrepreneurs and speakers and I was nervous there. But then once I finally got out on stage and I just really got in my group, it all went away. And it was just like I was chatting with some friends who teaching, you know, one of my web classes.                                     It became more natural because you’ve already practiced how many different times on stage. And essentially I was giving the same presentation tweaked of course for funnel hacking live, but you know, it was about summits and summits are one of the things that I do teach on. So I knew the material inside out. And when you’re that comfortable with the thing that you teach, I mean, you can’t forget it. I mean it’s really, it’s almost impossible when you have your own summit. So just a summary of your own summit. You have your own courses, you have your own, you have your own coaching business. Like how did you get started in this? Because everyone has their own little story. What’s your story? How far back do you want me to start? It’s a good question. Um, so yeah, when did you want to go online?                                     Okay. Okay. So, I feel like I had to just like briefly kind of back up to the fact that, you know, just like you, I, you know, I was in the corporate world for a while as well, so I was always taught that there was this American dream you were supposed to follow. I was Valedictorian of high and high school. I won a scholarship to go study engineering and I went and got my bachelor’s and master’s in engineering and eventually wound up working as an environmental engineering consultant out in California and so it was, I actually spent a couple of years doing that before I decided that I wanted to pursue something else. I was about 25 years old when I started having honestly a quarter life crisis. I was legitimately having panic attacks, anxiety about my future because I just woke up one day essentially and realize that the path that I was on, I could be on for the next 50 years if I didn’t make a change and what does that, the life that I wanted to have and all of this was kind of coming about around this time.                                     You might ask, well, why did it take two or three years for you to feel this way? It was really all because of something called the PE, the professional engineering license. It’s you, you go to school for Engineering, then you get a job and you get all this experience and then you qualify for your PE exams so that you can get licensed as an engineer. Right. And so that’s what was happening with my career at the time because basically after you get your PE, you know, that was the carrot on the stick. That was the thing that I was getting at. Like I want my PE, I want to be a licensed. But once you get that, then it’s not that your career is over of course, but there’s no next challenge and I’m a person that just thrives on having the next challenge, figuring you know out the next problem.                                     And I think in general, that’s why I like engineering because it’s all about solving problems and finding solutions and things. And ironically, so is business but just in a different way. And so after that carried on a stick wasn’t there anymore after I passed the exams and it was like, well what are you going to do for the rest of your life? You could either stay at the company you’re at now. Usually they give you a raise, maybe you on a few more difficult problems. They trust you more and maybe you get to be project manager or something or you can move to a different company and do the exact same thing. But for me that just, it wasn’t enough. And I realized, okay, this isn’t actually what I want to do for the rest of my life. And that’s when I started to pursue online business. Bailey:                    Now. So you asked me when did I go online?

Hey everybody. Welcome to Hack That Funnel Radio. Today we’re going to talk about why hacking works and when it fails. Plus I’m going to give you a golden nugget. The whole goal of this entire system is to teach you how to Funnel Hack and how to hack, not just funnels, how to hack ads, how to act copy, how to hack the customer, how to hack competitors and everything. How do you hack, and I want to tell you really quick a story about hacking, why it works, why it doesn’t, plus a little gold coin. Then we talked about, so hacking works, period. Okay. Anytime you’re going to do anything, you should always begin with the hack. Hey, you ever, you’ve ever heard the expression that we stand on the shoulders of other successful people? Every time somebody won something like, well, I stand on the shoulders of giants. I stand on the shoulders of my predecessors. They always talk about that kind of stuff, right? The reason they talk about is because they’re giving due diligence. However, we as marketers, a lot of the time we come in and we’re like, forget what the market’s doing. It’s something epic and it’s going to be amazing and this is my picture. You don’t go on. You find out is it working today? Are you selling to people who are actually being buying today? Are you using this system, that system that’s worked? Are you using ads that work? Are you even in the right platform? You don’t look at any of that. Like Facebook will work rock on and it’s like we had this weird idea of a business plan when you get started in business, it doesn’t matter what you’re doing, doesn’t matter if you’re doing marketing, doesn’t matter if you’re doing operations. We have a weird idea of a marketing plan. We’re just going to say, this is going to work because a x, Y, z person sold it to me. But you don’t pay attention to the pieces. And a lot of us burn out through it and you get sober and out that you don’t do, you end up not doing anything. It’s all about information overload. And so the whole goal of this is just to tell you we all start on the shoulders of somebody else, okay? Now, when I grew up, my dad would always talk about how great his dad was. Okay? Now my parents are beautiful, they’re spectacular. My mom will always look back and she’ll say, you know what? Here’s the way that, the family has gotten better over time. My grandpa had these flaws. My Dad had less of those flaws and he had his own. Now I have different flaws. I stand on the shoulders of my father who stood on the shoulders of my grandfather. He stood on the shoulders of my great grandfather. All of us are trying to produce better generation than the last. That is life and that’s how it works. I’ll never forget the summer that I got to spend with my grandpa and we got to talk and I got to learn who my grandpa is. I got to work in the area. I lived with him and my grandma. I had a wonderful time, but I got to learn who I am because of my grandpa. I live with my dad, but being able to stand on my shoulders with my dad, I kind of understood like our family tree to a small degree. Hacking is the exact same way. When you start a business, you should start with what’s working already. Start on what’s working already. I got this really cool coin. It says Amore Fatina and it has a flame on it. The phrase means “love the flame, love the fire” and it says on the back, “Not merely to bear what is necessary, but love it.” I could tell you the story behind where I got the coin, but I loved the coin and I love the coin because of this. We all start on this journey of entrepreneurship and we’re like, I’m going to go into the fire. I would go through aims and it’s going to be amazing. And a lot of us love the burn until we get burned. And then we start to love the fire less and less. There’s like, oh, what’s the fastest way to money? Just can someone just tell me how to do this, right? Hacking is the way to just do it, right? There’s going to be times when you’re going to have to love the fire. You’re gonna have to love the flame. This is where funnel hacking does not work. If you want the get rich quick scheme, if you want the way to be able to make your business work like this, if you just want to get things fired up, hacking is not the way to skip all you. All the things that you’re going to have to learn there is still going to be fired to be gone through. Business is still business. Doesn’t matter whether you’re hacking it or you’re building it from darn scratch. The question is how long are you going to be in the fire? That’s the main question. How long are you going to be in the fire? Love the fire, but don’t live in the fire. Make the track out of the fire as fast as possible so you can get into new fires such as, I have so much business. How can I survive? That’s where you want to be. You don’t want to be in, Dang it, I’m still losing $1,000 in this business. Like I’m getting clients. I’m getting this, but man, it sucks. You don’t want to be there and I don’t want you to be there. So as much as you need to love the fire in order to hack correctly, you also need to love the hack business is all about standing on the shoulders of what’s already successful, as well as making sure that you love being a business owner. All of us are going to be entrepreneurs. We’re all going to push and make this thing work and once it starts to work, then you can be a CEO. You can be the person who reads a book a week and Dah, Dah, Dah, Dah, all that stuff. But for now, hack, hack, hack, hack hacking is your custom blueprint to what you should be doing in your niche. A lot of us go out and we buy the course, oh, that’s a cool course. I need that bonus. We all do that because it’s a shiny ball, and we’re like, oh, they figured it out for me. Oh, I don’t have to do it myself. Do you know how much easier it is to go and say, how is this person doing this? And reverse engineer it can. You’ll have people who will teach you how to do it. Very specifically step-by-step. You have super honest, really helpful people. That can be super, super helpful, but even when I buy a course from them, I still want the shortcut. I don’t want to spend three months trying to optimize it and burning in the fire. You got to spend a month. How do I do that? You hack the hack comes first. Always. That’s the key. Stand on the shoulders of success. Love the fire, but don’t live in the fire. That’s where funnel hacking is successful and where it fails. You wanting the quick get rich quick hack isn’t the way to go. If you want to find success and be able to live in the fire, little as long hack, okay? It’ll get you out of the fire so that way you can go into the next fire. You can continue to grow, your business can grow and you’re going to have success all around. Guys, will you talk about all this stuff about becoming a better person? Just becoming a better person. We talk about doing that and going through the fire. That’s the fire. Stand on the shoulders of success. When you become a better person, when you are going from generation to generation, all of the above. Stand on the shoulders of success. When you’re building your business, especially when you’re doing the marketing, because the marketing is what makes the money. Stand on the shoulders of what works on the marketing side. Go and find out what’s working today and model it. That’s all you gotta do. So hack on what works, love the fire, and you’re on the path to success! Thank you for being here. If you like this at all, it would mean so very much. If you could leave a review, whether you’re on iTunes, Google play, Spotify, soundcloud, youtube, or wherever you want, leave a quick review and let me know what your favorite story has been. Well, what you’ve learned, that’s been most impactful. It takes less than a minute and it would literally mean the world. Go leave a real quick review!

Hey there everybody. Welcome to Hack That Funnel Radio. Today we’re talking about the backstories that we’ve all gone through. What is brought all of us here? What is the common thread that brings all of us funnel hackers together? A lot of us consider ourselves Funnel Hackers. Some of us don’t. That’s okay. We’re just funnel builders. We’re digital marketers, we’re agencies. It just kind of all depends on where you see yourself and that’s totally fine. But there’s treads that I’ve seen all the way through. So I’ve been at this game for a while now and it’s been really interesting. One of my favorite questions to ask anybody, whether I’m going to Funnel Hacking Live or Traffic and Funnels or Offer Mind or whatever event I’m going to is- so how did you get started? Why are you here? And the backstories are so similar. It’s like, we were all like trying to accomplish this one particular goal, and they all went in the same direction. So what I want to do is just kind of describe the generic path. And as I do that, look at why you’re here, look at why you do Funnel Hacking and see if you match this at all. See if you are generic or if you are a true-blue funnel hacker, this is going to be fine I tried MLMs and it didn’t work. I was selling stuff on Amazon. I was selling stuff door to door and it really stunk. I wanted to faster way. I wanted to be able to have a business without ever talking to people because I’m not very personable. I’m very introverted. I’m not an extrovert like all those other people. At the end of the day, I really just wanted to be able to take care of my family. I was in a place where I couldn’t take care of my family, and I wanted to be able to provide more. I wanted to be able to be at home with my family most of all. At that point, I was working away from my family constantly. I was on my drive and I wanted to know what could I do that would actually keep me home that was legitimate and that would be able to provide for my family. I have a dream. I had this passion, I just woke up inside of me like a fire in my belly and I could not move without thinking about this and I needed to be able to share it somehow. And I didn’t know how to share it. I didn’t know if sharing it would even make an impact. At this point, but I knew that I had a calling. There was something I had to do and I was driven to do it. These are some of the general reasons why we all get started in this path. It’s like a hero’s journey. We’re all called to something, but before we’re called, we’re all in a place of some kind of a pain or in some place of discomfort where we’re not in a comfortable situation and we hope for something better. We’re looking for something that will work. And you want something that’s big. You want to be able to stay at home with your family. You want to be able to share your dream, would you believe you’re called to? Do you want to do all these things like you received these callings and these ideas. You have this big external desire, but really internally, your whole goal is to provide for yourself and you might want to make your family safe. You want to make an impact. You want to be able to sleep at night comfortably without going through panic attacks because the road that you’ve already taken up to this point, it doesn’t make any sense. And you can’t imagine being in your current situation for another 30 years in your life. There are these internal and external desires to start playing and suddenly like there’s extreme discomfort and we suddenly get this call to action where we can do it and we’re ready to do it, but there’s this reason we can’t, and this is, this is like, this is what I hear a lot of the times is, you know, I wanted to do it, but my wife wasn’t really supportive of the idea. I wanted to build my business, but I felt like I was in the wrong product at the wrong time. I just couldn’t get it moving. I didn’t really know how to make this work. I mean, how do you actually do this? Really? You have the other people that say, you know, I wanted to do this, but there was no path for me to get this out of my head, out of my heart into something tangible. There’s a wall that we all hit. We have this, we have this discomfort, this need to move forward and we all hit this wall and it’s impedes our progress and it makes things much more just comfortable, uncomfortable. We just keep pushing and we just cannot get past this wall and we don’t know why. We say, why are we uncomfortable, but we can’t stop and we feel stuck. We feel like we can’t do anything more. We’re just in a place where moving forward isn’t an option and it causes extreme discomfort and we can’t figure out why can’t we just x? Why can’t we adjust readily? We all hit this big old wall and then this thing happens. I had a friend reach out to me. I was online late one night and I saw an ad or I was on line late one night and I found a YouTube video from somebody who actually felt, I felt like they knew what they were doing and I felt like they had a path that matched where I needed to go. I went and I bought a product and the way that they bought product was beyond compare. I was on Facebook and I saw an ad that literally told me how to be able to get my goal, grow my gym without having to talk to people one on one- I could grow it online. There are all these different ideas, these different things, these epiphanies, these Aha moments. A lot of them come for us as Funnel Hackers and digital marketers. I’m not going to leave you guys out. A lot of it happens to us when we are late at night, when we have been struggling for awhile. We’re literally knocking on the universe’s door or hitting this waltzing. Come on, give me something, shed little light on me. Let me know where I’m supposed to go. And as we’re knocking on that door, suddenly something comes up. Whether it’s an ad, a person, or whether it’s a literal person. Like somebody is not just like a YouTube video can be an actual person. It could be whatever. But it usually comes late at night for us and it usually comes while we’re exhausted from looking. We finally relaxed and something just clicks or something that’s just there and there’s just this little burst of light and you go, Ooh, and you followed that little burst of light. How far can this go? Is this anything like I’ve been searching for? So cool. I love it. Suddenly you have this light bulb moment. You have this, you have this, this moment of hope. There’s this ray of hope that’s come shining down and it’s lit that fire in the belly. It’s lit that that hope in the mind, that desire in your heart and you’re just like, you suddenly have all this energy you’ve been pushing against the wall and you get tired and you just kind of lay back suddenly because there’s little bitty light turned on. You are ready to push full individually last, make this happen. Let’s do this. This is what works. This is how it all clicks. And you are just ready and you push and you go and at some point they lay out the plan for you. This is how you’re going to do it because we’re going to go, okay, that’s my plan. And you lay out the plan and you come to this point where the plan doesn’t work. Things don’t exactly get worked out the way they’re supposed to. Whether the plan was the fault or whether we were the fault, things did not pan out. And it comes a time for you to say, do I stay or do I go, okay, do I give up on this or do or do I keep believing that this is possible? I guarantee you that as you keep dreaming it’s possible. You will find that that light that you felt is actually a smallest ray of the sunshine that shines when you reach that transformation moment. When you get all those desires that you want it, but you also become somebody new and that hope, that dream of getting to that point, and I’m not talking about putting a laptop on your, on your lap and sitting at the ocean, I’m talking about real situations, not fake marketing stuff. I’m talking about really being able to live on your own terms, but at the same time be able to take care of your family, your loved ones, be able to have the dream car, be able to do all these things, but at the same time be real person and live and enjoy life. Be able to transform your life aside from all the external stuff they tell you it’s there and I tell it to you. Having spoken to so many people and having gone down this path multiple times, this is the funnel hacker path. This is the digital marketer path. This is why we’re here. This is our calling and I challenge you to keep pushing forward, keep moving forward. There is a conflict. There is a make or break moment in your business right now in your life. My challenge is to face it head on.  Do not go back, do not quit, keep moving, and as you keep moving, you will find that when you accept, yes, I will do this. Just like when you were pushing on that wall and praying for that beam of light in the do or die moment, that light will come again and it will shine. The brighter that is the backstory of the funnel hacker. That is the backstory of all of you guys. You are living in a movie that has yet to be written about how spectacular your challenges were and yet you overcame and built something that changed not your life, but thousands of lives around the world. That is your calling. That is what is beating in your heart and you now have the tools to be able to do it. That is why we’re here because it can happen. Okay. That is our path. That is our calling and what we do does matter, so keep moving forward. I told you this is kind of a unique podcast. I really meant it guys. I hope you enjoyed this in some small way, truly and whatever you’re doing, just keep focused. Everybody wants to hack. Everybody wants a shortcut, that’s fine. There are paths that are faster than others and we’re talking about those. But really what I want you to make sure you are doing is not trying to shirk the challenge because after the challenge, the light comes in, the light chains, all the brighter and you want to be able to stand in that light and basket it for woman to go, yeah, I made it, I made it guys, I’ll see you in that light. Hey there everybody, welcome to Hack That Funnel Radio! We have a very special episode today. I want to give you a peek into what impact actually looks like. I had a friend who recommended that I do this on my podcast and so this is not something that I would normally do, and I’m not trying to do this as a “Ben is awesome” moment, but what I am trying to do is to share what it looks like when you start to make a difference. There’s this idea out there called the “ripple effect” and we all kind of have an understanding of that in our heads. But listen to this for a minute, when you drop a pebble into water, it starts to make ripples, right? They all start to go out and then that ripple will touch something else and that will move. And because that moves, it changes the direction. Any little thing that you do changes the way that everything else works. It’s like the universe is waves. You want to get really deep into quantum physics and all that stuff and how everything is made up of waves. So in truth, everything you do creates an impact and you have the ability to make an impact. And some of the times we don’t really get to see what that impact looks like. But I’ve been blessed, I’ve asked a lot of people for testimonials and so far I’ve been able to see it and they’re like, oh, Ben is amazing. After putting together so many testimonials, I have come to the conclusion that we have a much bigger impact on others than we give ourselves credit for. -------- Oh my gosh, this is all about Ben. So my name is Dee Williams. This is Nancy. Hey, what's up? My name is Dave Ray. I’m Andy Curry. Hey, this is Jeanie Schulman. Hey, my name's Jim - I've been an internet marketing business probably over 15 years. My name is Shanda. My business is Inner Chi Wellness. And I am a professional business coach and trainer and I just wanted to do a little shout out about how awesome Ben Moote is. Ben Is just one of those people who is the salt of the earth. Massive integrity. You can feel his passion and working with people. I was a Newbie. I wasn't really sure, and I don't even think I had a lot of standards around what I was even putting up. If Ben was like, nope, we're not going to do it this way, you're gonna make sure you look great, vanishes so easy to work with. He was able to meet me where I am and he was able to take what I had and take it to the next level. I'll tell you right now, my business would not be where it is today without Ben. I was on Ben’s masterclass, because I just wanted to learn how to figure out what the topic editors are doing, any niche. He did such an amazing job. He gave me, you know, everything that I needed, all the pathways that I needed in order to be able to replicate it for my business. He walked me through the process of how to take my message and really construct a powerful offer that resonates with my audience. The stuff that took him like 15 minutes to do and it would've taken me days to do. But overall business standpoint, Ben knows his stuff. He's really good at talking about strategy. In fact, there have been many cases within Ben would say, okay, hold on one, what's the overall goal? What's the strategy? We would talk about that. We'd figure out exactly what the end game was like motivating his iron. Yeah. I was like, okay. And I made lots of money. Like that was the biggest hurdle. It's impossible. I thought to find somebody who has technical wizardry and design smarts and the ability to just be a master copywriter all in one person. It's just a, I didn't think that person existed. I made 30 40 times moment. Really good information. Thank you. So, so much Ben. It was an incredible help. Thank you for just a, yeah, just taking me from from zero to 60 and in no time and he's just such a sweetheart. So easy to work with. And, and a real source of comfort, feeling like having a partners. I didn't feel like I'm totally alone in this anymore. Thank you Ben, for everything you've done for my business. Thank you for being a connection and joy in my life. If you have the opportunity to wear it within, you should definitely go for it. I can't recommend this guy enough, so listen right now, this is a serious note. If you are even thinking about or wondering or questioning, should I work with them? The answer is without a shadow of a doubt. Yes, yes, yes. If you're looking for someone to build a funnel for you or to do business consulting or just to be a friend, then is your main, and for anybody looking to work with Ben, just know that you are hiring a Rockstar, so congratulations and again, April the bed like you. I love him as an individual. All the things that he has done. What impact your business. You want to work with Ben? He's a nice guy too. Love you, Ben. ------------- Sweet, awesome sauce. I hope you found something in this episode. The major mind explode. Now would you like to take it to the next level? What if I give you the keys to the funnel hacking kingdom? Ben: Hey everybody! Welcome to Hack That Funnel Radio. Thanks for being here today! We have a special interview with one of the best affiliate marketers in the ClickFunnels community and other communities around. Today’s episode is something really, really cool. We’ve got somebody on who has made $1 million as a ClickFunnels affiliate. Now he’s promoted click funnels, he’s promoted an active campaign, he runs a lot of different products, but he’s made $1 million in that. And so I want to introduce him to you. His name is Spencer Mecham. Ben:                          Why don’t you tell us a little bit about yourself? Why did you even get started in this marketing game? Like a lot of people are in the game and they’d been going for forever and they’re not making any money. What got you started and then what turned you on to affiliate? Spencer:                Ah, yes. I have a great email sequence that explains all this. I’ve written down this story so I don’t forget it.  It all began in Hawaii. Me and my wife were huge Hawaii fans. We love to go there as often and as long as possible. At one point when I was in college, we moved there for, for probably six months. We actually moved in with her parents because they were living there for six months at the time too.                                     It was like this random, crazy thing. They were like, Hey, we’ve got an extra room. And we were like, ah, it’s amazing. We’ve got two extra bodies that can fit in that room. And so we moved in and the goal was to move in and then I’ll get a job and we’ll kind of go from there and then we’ll move out after a month or something. But it was the hardest thing on planet earth to get a job. I’ve never had an issue getting a job, you know, it was crazy. I’d go in and I’d go to apply it like every, like the lowest, most menial tasks I could possibly find anything and nothing. I couldn’t get one interview the whole time I was there. So it was this crazy hard, for a variety of reasons.                                     And so I can actually remember sitting at home and I’m as bummed as can be. I’m like, I can’t even get a job like working as a grocery bagger, I can’t get it down to anywhere. And that’s why I started searching. That’s when like I started searching everywhere online, how do you make money, not in physical locations. And so the first way I made money on my own was- have you ever heard of Mechanical Turks? No? So Amazon has this little teeny thing where entrepreneurs like us go out and they have like these really menial tasks, like crazy, menial. They’ll say like, Hey, I’ll pay you a penny each time you like go into this data sheet and like, you know, select these things and do this. I’ll give you one penny.                                     Right? And you’ll just do it over and over and over and over again. And by the penny you’re making money. And so I was, I can’t remember all the tasks I was doing, what they were seriously like 10 cent, 30 cent, 50 cent tasks where I like take surveys, things like that. So that’s what I was doing because I had nothing else to do. Everybody else was at school or work. My wife was interning at the local preschool. So just me home alone, sitting on the computer, feeling bad. I said, Hey, at least I’m making money. I did that for three weeks. I’m just like, I’m making like 80 bucks a week doing and I’m working, I’m doing stuff once a week much for like five hours a day on your computer, clicking.                                     I also realized I had zero skills to bring to the table though as well. So anyway, I did that for a while and that kind of brought me into the mindset of, okay, now I’m going to Google. Like, how do I make more than like 7 cents an hour online, you know, and eventually I get into the stock market. That leads me to the stock market for a year and the stock market is the way I’m going to make money. I start losing a bunch of money there. That led me into- okay, the real estate business is for me, you know, real estate is how you make money. Not! I’m still terrible at real estate. And I’m like, we’re trying it for years. The hardest part.  And then I didn’t give up but I wasn’t making enough money to live either.                                     So I get a job in an SEO agency and this is where affiliate marketing comes in. This coworker, he shows me one day while we’re doing SEO for clients, you know, and he’s like, hey, check out what I’ve been doing. He’s goes this website. He’s made the reviews, vacuum cleaners- it’s like Kirby and the dust bunny or you know, whatever it is. He’s got this site and he’s like, I made $10,000 last month. And seriously, if you go look at this website, it’s literally the ugliest thing you’ve ever seen. Like nineties, it’s ugly. I don’t know where he even got the designs for this, but… so I’m looking at it like, there’s no way. There’s no way I could do worse than this mess and 10 grand a month. And so that was when I was like, I’m going to do affiliate marketing.                                     I’m going to do better than him! And then kind of the rest is history. So then multiple years of me like trying and failing in the affiliate marketing world happened. And then maybe two and a half years ago, things started to slowly click right at that point, I finally have like marketing skills. I’ve spent years building marketing skills and buying courses and trying things and failing. And I started to see little successes and hone in and focus on those little successes. And now I’m a little more successful. So when I got into affiliate marketing, I was like my first sale that I made online. I spent three grand and I made a year or  $297 or $197 you spend three grand to be an affiliate and then I spent three grand on Solo ads. Okay, so you made some money, but I was like, I can not do that again.                                     So that was the pain point now where you are where you are in the affiliate marketing world where you ask, what’s the biggest mistake that you see people trying to do when they start to do affiliate marketing? Are they all trying to throw money at the issue or they all trying to vote wrong? Are they not getting less? What’s the biggest issue that I think they’re not setting up their business and that they need this. You need a system in place before you send traffic to anything and, and not just as an affiliate, right? That’s true for everything. And you need more than just a pitch like, Hey, I’ve got a product, I’m going to throw some traffic towards it. Right. Which is what not only affiliates do, but like most small business owners do the same thing. So I said, I’m selling this and I’m gonna run some ads to it because I’ve got a product, but you need a system, you don’t need a product, you need a system, right?                                     A system of multiple products and a system of multiple channels and avenues of reaching audiences and stuff. And so what I see is most people not setting up a funnel, they’re setting up like single pages. They’re not setting up email automation, they’re not setting up retargeting. They’re starting on the front end and, and sending traffic instead of starting on the back end and saying- okay, I’m going to get a few products, 5 to 10 products I want to promote. And at the same in the non affiliate marketing goal, right? It’s called a “value ladder” and I’m going to get some products and then I’m going to create this some, some version of a funnel where I can capture lead information and then send them on to start selling them. And then I’m going to create an email automation that increases my profits.                                     And once that back end’s in place, then you can go over and say, okay, now I’m going to start throwing as much traffic as possible because I’ve got my system in place and I don’t have to focus on that anymore. I can just focus on traffic and know that like, hey, you know, every bit of traffic that I get, I’ve set up everything to really maximize how much money can be made off that traffic. Now some ads you might have not made much money anyway, but that is the biggest problem. You know, affiliates right now. That makes sense. Cause I built it out and I built a list that I could email once a day and I could do that, but I didn’t have, I have like slightly automated sequence for that launch.                                     I didn’t have anything after that. Like I didn’t know what I was going to do with that. Like I built lists, I’m pretty sure I built like a full list of maybe 10,000 people, which doesn’t sound hugely. This is from my personal visits or my personal is like I just haven’t go that big list I built, I built a big list. But because of like the fact that I don’t email people often like email is dead when it comes into my hands. It’s not the emails that are dead. I suck at email! So I have a thousand people left who kind of listen. That’s so funny cause I that, that now that you’re saying that, it reminded me, that was my first mistake that I made as an affiliate to I, I created a youtube channel that I got lucky in like a couple of videos exploded.                                     I quickly threw in like a random little like thing that pops up, you know, and the youtube video, it’s like, Hey, I’m on this random thing. Then I didn’t have anything in place and I have a list. So that’s still sitting there. The channel is still bringing in traffic. My list is like 2000 people that are sitting in a MailChimp list and they’ve never once received a single email from me because I didn’t have it done ahead of time. And like you said, I’m just, I got too much going on and maybe I’m just too lazy, I don’t know. But to sit there and send them emails every two days or whatever, like I’m just not good at that. Where if I had sat down for like one day and built out a 10 or 15 email sequence that sold them stuff, that’s probably a couple, at least a couple thousand dollars, you know, a months worth of income that could have gone in just by me building that one day sequence. I don’t know. That would’ve been really helpful. And that’s the issue. Like I didn’t, I heard all the things and I had it in my head. But then once you get to that point where like, okay, now I got to start, you don’t, there’s no like, so you have your, your, your course like you built, you built your affiliate business. At what point did you state I need to build my own stuff? Was it like in conjunction with as bonuses? Was it like why, why did you start building your own stuff?                                     My own stuff as in my, like my own list or what do you mean, like my own course or like your own course where you actually started to, yeah. I mean, you start to get this, there’s always in the back of your head is an affiliate. But like what could go wrong here, you know, and isn’t affiliate anything go wrong. Your traffic’s coming from Youtube. Youtube can shut you down if you’re affiliate, you know, you’re number one program is, um, program a or click falls or whatever. They could shut you down or they could sell the company. Or like, there’s a million things that can happen, right? The only thing you really own is that list. And that list is only gonna really respond positively to you if you’ve built that a lot more than just a list, right? If you build out some kind of brand and like they know you and like you’ve, you know, you’ve personalized yourself or your business with these people to where they’re more than a list to you and you’re more than just some guy emailing them every once in a while to them, right?                                     You are a brand that they follow and believe in. So at what point did I decide that? I couldn’t really say like, it’s all been very transitional, you know, the way it is that everybody, like you do this, you see some success and then you kinda just look around like I do like, what’s next? You know? And, and somewhere along the way I was like, well, what’s next is I got to stop relying on other people and try this myself. You know? And so, um, I, you start to see a little success. It really is. Your road just kind of starts to happen, I think as an entrepreneur, right? Like it kind of builds itself one brick at a time in front of you as you’re growing, you know, you see a little success and that kind of opens up some new doors and you just follow it and take the best route as you go.                                     And that’s kind of how it’s been for me. So you literally, you don’t see the whole path, you’re just taking steps and be like, okay, where’s the next door? And you’re just going through all the open doors that open up that are best for you. You’re not like, there’s not some main master plan, just like just take action and it works out. And so I think there always is some kind of master plan in my head, but that’s just never, but then it just changes everything. Weak in my end is always something like, oh, you know, two years from now I’ll be doing this. But like even like 18 months from now, the idea of like being a course creator was never once in my head. I was like, I want to take courses, I want to sell affiliate products, you know, and now here I am like half of what I do is all based around creating courses and selling courses and things like that.                                     And I mean same thing with affiliate marketing, you know I was like I want to be in the stock market. That’s real passive income. And then I find it really marketing starts to work. Like we’ll obviously go all in on a, like you lost three grand in the stock market, you made 10 in affiliate marketing, who cares what you want? Like take that road, you know? Right. Yup. But you had to test all those roads to figure it out and they’re like everyone’s testing all these things. So you’re figuring it out. When was the point where you realized this wasn’t just a fad or easy money? Like this is where you were going to build the foundation. This is where like this is what was going to work and this is how you’re going to set junior family free. Cause like you love the lifestyle, the lifestyle or going back to Hawaii, we’re going to, we’re going to, you know, run an English.                                     So like when did you get to that point where you’re like, we’re at that point, let’s go take a vacation. My big first success, a lot of people might know this, that are listening might not, was the ClickFunnels, uh, dream car. That was like my big first affiliate success. I’d have like a bunch of small ones up until then. But as the background of that, once you get a hundred active ClickFunnels users that have signed up under your link as an affiliate, you get a free car. And so I was at like 20 or 30 when it was like, when it, when it finally dawned on me- oh, I could, this could be real, right? I could actually win this car!                                     Like in the beginning, it’s just kinda like this you’re not really thinking it’s going to happen when you try, but I don’t know. Once you actually start to see success, you think it could happen. And so somewhere around there, I think it’s going to happen. And that’s when I talked to my wife and we actually set up all these plans. I was like, when I hit a hundred, we’re going to go do this. And I think it was Hawaii and I said, when I make my first six contracts, we’re going to go to Europe. And we still haven’t done that yet, but it’s still on the promise. It’s still being planned, I still owe it, so it’s gotta happen. I do think it’s really important to set timelines and goals and things like that, right?                                     Of like, like your goal can’t be all just to make seven figures and retire, right? Like, that can be your long term goal, but, but if that’s like your one goal, then you’re going to fizzle out. So you’ve got to set those little, those little mini goals of like, I’m going to get to 50 and then I’m going to take my family to this place and we’re gonna spend a few days and it’s going to be awesome. You know, and then after that we’ll set up another goal that’s like, it’s close enough that I can see it, you know, and see it coming in the next few months or a year or whatever. So a couple of months ago, I can’t even remember when I went through and I like hacked everything that you’d ever done on all the Facebook, all the, all the pages and all the ads. I think everything was a blast. Ben:                          The biggest key components that makes up all of this work for you is your ecosystem. It’s you got Facebook going, you got youtube going, you’ve got your emails going, like you have this symbiotic ecosystem that’s going. Is that part of like the back system that you need to build before you start doing things that we have multiple communication channels so people actually want to listen to you? Or is that, does that not as necessary?   Spencer:                I think not necessarily, like if you’re, if you think you’re going to build your whole eco system in the beginning, then you’re just going to overwhelm yourself and like you’re trying to like trying to put content in your Facebook group, set up a continent youtube channel, and you just can’t fill it on.                                     You fizzle out. Right? Cause especially most, most people at that point are still at a job, right? They don’t have five hours to create content. So, um, I think you’d start with one. Like I very much started with youtube and that’s all I did for awhile. Right. And then once, once you feel comfortable and systemized in one, then you can add another. So I, I was crushing it. Like once I got through I was like, I know youtube really well. I’ve got a system for putting out youtube videos consistently. Then I added a Facebook group. Well there were no email automation, so let, maybe I’ll go back. Yes, you should build your, you know, automation from the beginning.                                     The first thing you should have an email automation. The way I recommend doing it is building a weeks worth of emails and then adding to your automation every couple of days, just throwing in one marina at the end of it. Um, but then yeah, then you’ll add the youtube or whatever it is for you. And then you’ll add like a Facebook group. And the Nice thing about each one you add is it’s actually much easier each time you add something because you’ve already got content and it’s just a matter of figuring out how you’re going to take that content and reapply it. So I’ve got this channel, I put up this 10 minute video or whatever. Well that’s great. Now I can hop into my youtube, my Facebook group and make a post and like five minutes. I’ve already got the whole outline and everything how it’s going to work for me. I just added the blog. We added our blog like six months ago. We started going all into our blog. Well that’s great. That’s so easy, right? We are already making youtube videos that are like searchable and 10 minutes long and are answering questions. Let’s just add a blog post. So I like that system mimic makes sense because I’m one of those. When I take action, I take a massive amount of action. I’m like, okay, we’re going to build a whole ecosystem.                                     I like doing it all like I know we’re going to go in, let’s dive it like there’s no reason to jump into the kid pool and I have to get out of it to get to the big kid. Cool. And so I’m just like, let’s just throw it in. So I’m, so that makes sense. Going step by step and it does get easier. That’s good to know. When we’re at funnel hacking live, people were walking around and wanting to take a picture with you wanting to get a golden nugget from. And it was weird, right? I was walking with you cause like at that point we become friends to some degree and we were just talking, I’ll take it.                                     And so like we were talking and walking and people would stop me and you’d be like, oh my gosh. Like it was still shocking at one point. When did that happen? And do you think you’ll ever really get used to it? Like it’s a weird phenomenon. When did it happen? The first time that had ever happened and the last time then would have, because I’ve only been to one eight. I’m only in that one tiny circle. Ben:                          Last question is if you had to answer, like if you had this poor starving kid who was like, I need to make money this month, like what is the fastest route to making money that you would suggest? Would it be owning the affiliate product, whether it be creating your YouTube channel? What, like what is the path that you’d be like, oh, just hop on this path and see it ‘til the end. Just push for the next 30 days. Spencer:                I love YouTube, but I love YouTube because it’s passive, not fast. Um, it’d be, I would say it’s Facebook. Like when I look at Facebook’s, the way Facebook is built, anybody can make money in 30 days on Facebook, just through their own personal profile.                                     So like whenever people ask me like I need money now and then we kind of cut out most if we cut out affiliate marketing because the things I teach, cause those are all to not make money now they’re to retire in five years. Right. I would say get on Facebook. Choose your niche, go join 20 groups, go make 5,000 friends. Right? So Facebook is built Facebook hands you an audience of 5,000 people just without that, like without you having to do anything except for like click, add, add, add. Right? And like half the people who have no idea who you are still like okay, um… and then they need to know who you are at that point, right? Like so then you can’t just like, but my crap, you know like who is this? I always say like build that out, go out a ton of friends, go join a ton of groups and then go post and then go post crazy like start consistently posting on your own profile and on these groups if made tons of tons of times a day like to where your name comes to their mind every time that subject is brought up.                                     Like socially, if I was trying to sell my affiliate marketing course right that way I would post five posts a day about affiliate marketing, engaging posts on my Facebook page. I would post in these groups. I go respond to people’s questions in these groups. Right? I’d be like very, very active for I guess if you need to make money in 30 days, I’d be active for 15 days. Right? They’ll take 15 days to where people are like, oh, I know this guy. He’s like, but yeah right. He’s always talking and like posting himself. Um, and then you start doing these little offers, right, where you’re posting lead magnets and then, well, I would say if you need money now, client offers, right? Hey, I’m taking on five people, I’m going to build your funnel. I’m going to set up your ads, you know, something for 500 bucks.                                     And literally, anybody can do that. Like anybody, you can learn a skill in 15 days, that can be enough and you can build your audience in 15 days if you are desperate enough and willing to do that. So the fastest way to hack profits isn’t necessarily to go and create a massive system. It’s just to go and work like a dog and Facebook. If you need speed, yeah. I’d say hop on a Facebook work like a dog. There are so many people willing to hire on Facebook and looking right. And if you could spend 500 bucks, that’s nothing to a lot of these business owners. And while it may feel like a lot to you and, and honestly you just need to be a little ahead of them, right? Like go learn email marketing, go take a course on you to be any on marketing.                                     Go take a course on AdWords. 90% of people I talked to are totally clueless on AdWords, but every single one of them, their business could benefit from it. You could go take an AdWords course in three days and you know, AdWords and you can go grab five clients. 500 bucks a month is, is tiny to a lot of these businesses. So yeah, that’s how I do it. Ben:                          Nice. Thank you. I think you got a cool thing going. It’s like the funnel hacking thing. Like I don’t know how well it’s doing in terms of audience, butbut I think you’ve got a cool idea. Like I keep telling my like I don’t, because I don’t, honestly, I don’t watch any content ever and like I’m terrible at that. But I keep seeing you alive. Spencer:                I want to go in and watch like what this guy’s business looks like right from me and like get a good idea. But then I forget and I don’t, because I seriously don’t ever watch anybody’s content, which that’s all the conversation, but I think you’ve got a good thing I think should build up. I like the same strategy, right? Get 5,000 followers in the dozen friends and the click funnels group and then just start posting like, hey, we went inside this guy’s business today. You know, let me know if you want access and then do those stupid ladder posts and you’ll get, you’ll explode and then go do lives like in other people’s groups. And the funny thing is I’ve been reaching out for interviews because I did those lives for the other, for another business. I’m like, this is funnel hacks because I did those people like, you still doing that cause you do that, my group, like, could you give value to mine?                                     I’m like, yeah, I’ve thought I wasn’t gonna be able to even reach out to you. We’re desperate for, for anything. The youtube video that’s coming out. And so I talked about group owners are desperate, like it’s so hard to like keep pumping out value for these guys. And so interviews as the easiest way. So I would do that. And then all you really need is some is a small lead magnet, right? Like start building your audience. Um, and then, and then for you, like you can just publish your content. You don’t even need an automation in the beginning. You can just can’t email out the content that you’re creating. So yeah, I would say make, make a crick, make a lead man. You probably have like 40 lead magnets. Ben:                          Just start capturing. Yes sir. I will go live in groups and start posting on your own Facebook. Maybe you do a lot. I don’t really know. I can do a lot more. Yeah, I, I’m pretty bad honestly. Like I think my Facebook group is awesome, but I like just hate Facebook. So what I did, and this might take too long now at this point, I’ve created a list of, in my Facebook friends, I have a list of all of the entrepreneurial ones, like my original like 500 friends that I actually care about that are like living around here. And then that’s on a list called entrepreneurs. And when I post, I exclude regular friends and just do my entrepreneurs do, can you do a youtube video about that and pump Thompson up on, on Youtube? Yes. Like that is, that is attractive because everybody’s afraid of being businessy on their, on their Facebook page. Ben:                          And I was talking to Josh 40 and he was like, yeah, you need to delete everybody who is in not your family and friends. And I’m like, that’s painful. But he said, go meet everybody that’s not your family and friends that are your family and friends and dope devoted business. Yeah. I hate when people recommend. Yeah. That drives me nuts. And so I, because like, I’ll even like, I’m ready to do it, but at the time I’m like, I feel like I’m tearing off the bandaid. Yeah. Well, I mean, I don’t know, to me like to me that takes an approach of like, the only thing I care about on planet earth is making money and building my business. And if you’re a friend of mine, I don’t care. I’m deleting, you know, like I want my face or pages just to make money. I got to know that’s what it says to me. Ben:                          So that’s what I did. And it works. It works pretty well. Um, cause yeah, I hate, I, well it would work pretty well if I posted a lot. I never post, but oh, back when I did post, that’s how I did it. I did that a lot in the beginning. Like when I was selling my course, I posted in Facebook groups, you know, I posted screenshots and uh, and I’m just so glad that doesn’t happen anymore. But everyone kind of does that and beginning all right. That’s why I’m getting people all the time. So you’re a crypto guy. Ben:                          So, um, we’re going to ask two more questions. And this is all post the interview. So what we’re gonna do is we’re going to shut this down here. If you want to go in and see these next two questions, but I need you to do is go to hack that funnel, radio.com when you sign up, you’re automatically going to get my master’s pack that teaches you how to hack, but we’re also throwing in the last few questions of every interview, so go ahead and go and often there, I’ll get you these two questions from Spencer. I want to thank you for being on and if you have not done it yet, go sign up. I’m going to go make these answers. So juicy. Good, so sign up. Spencer Mecham:            Nothing. Was that cool or was that cool? Guys, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did, but I actually do something very, very special. After the interview is done, I actually record two more questions. Those two questions spark a whole new conversation and I record those and I’m happy to give you access to that. Hey there everybody, it's Ben Moote with hack out funnel radio. Today we're going to talk about why I sang in the bathroom when I was three years old and I still do. So today Now - a funny story. When I was a kid like um, my mom would take me to the bathroom like at Walmart or Kmart or whatever, not Walmart at the time. One, I don't think Walmart existed, checked me like Kmart or do you know that at the grocery store target. And she would wait outside the bathroom. And once I got old enough and uh, she always knew I was fine cause I would sing at the top of my lungs, I would sing cause there was this, I don't know what it is about a bathroom, but there is something I would have asked for med. It just makes your voice sound great and I would just sing and let it out. I don't remember any of this. I was out as too young, but apparently I did it a lot. Uh, because I was, there were women who would walk by and my mom would say, yeah, yeah, that's my son. Yup. And I do it to this day and it's not something that I talk about in period, but I, uh, there was a period of my life where I didn't sing at all. Um, when I was about, uh, 11 years old, we just moved. Um, I didn't have anything that I liked that there was nothing I liked. We'd moved. I felt really insecure. I felt really awkward. I didn't really know where I fit in. And a school got out really late. I missed all of my afternoon cartoons and my whole routine was thrown off and my mother came to my dad and said, Dale, your son is really lost and you need to help him like you need you man demand kind of a thing. I mean, my dad, we got along all right. It wasn't that, it wasn't an issue. We'd done some things together. He was awkward around me. I was awkward around him. It was just kind of strange. I came home from school one day and uh, he, he was home. He'd come home early and he was going through the cds and he pulled out three dog night. He goes, have you ever heard of these guys? I'm like, no. He went over to the stereo that he bought when I was a baby. I mean, this thing has got speakers, like tall, tall freaking speakers, right. Snotting the summer. It's like two big speakers he puts in the back. They still watch TV with it this day and uh, and he turns it on as high as it could go. It was three dog night and he turned on Jeremiah was a bull frog and we listen to Jeremiah was a bullfrog. Um, one is the loneliest number that you'll ever do. Uh, we listened to Mama. Oh, why does that go? Ah, that ain't the way to have fun son. If you have, you know, three dog night, you'll know Kay and I would sing. I in my, I felt really awkward at the time. I does like playing this music. He's singing along, I guess this music's fun. Okay. Add music. And uh, I felt kind of awkward and he had a good time with it and he just turned to me and said, if you ever get home and you have nothing to do, you can put in any CD and sing as loud as you want. And Sunday, new years, except in like church. And so there was one day I came home and I plugged it in and I, of course I went to his CD cause I knew his CD. I plugged it in. And what did I sing? Three dog night, I Sang Jeremiah was a bull frog ma, I can't remember that song. One of the loneliest number. I sing three dog night all the time. Okay. The halls of Shambhala. I sang it to death. Nobody knew it, but I sang it and it became my thing and I held onto it. It was, it was like this breath of fresh air. And there came a point where, um, there was a choir or there was a play that was going to be on in the community. And they asked if anybody knew how to do it or wanted to be in it. And I said, I don't know why I was interested, but I've been seeing it at home. I said, hmm, might be fun. And so I went to my music teacher and I asked if she had a three dog nights, a joy to the world. And she goes, I do. She even changed the words that way. It was good for a grade school kid and she took it out and she started playing and I rocked out to she's, yes. And when she just did it. This turned into something that my s my teacher at the time, my sixth grade teacher, he loved three dog night. He was those as like his last year before he retired and he loved three dog night and suddenly I was the favorite student and it was so weird. And uh, I got the part and then my family started doing plays with me. We all started singing suddenly we were the mood family quartet during Christmas. We went Christmas caroling. We'd all sing together or asked to sing in church. And it's something that I've carried with me my whole life. But you'll see me do every once in a while I'll randomly sing and something that I treasure and it's something that I've held on to, no. Why do I talk about singing? What does singing have to do with tacking that funnel on? A lot of us were introduced to this whole marketing world and kind of the same way. Okay. We were in the right spot. We were hitting the right pain. We just, something wasn't working in our lives and we just needed a note for me. You know what that story is, if you've watched any of these previous videos or listened to the podcasts, like you know, I was working my nine to five. I worked at my corporate job. It was my first corporate job at a college and it was extremely unfulfilling. I felt like I doing nothing except playing in excel all day and it, it, it, I felt so unfulfilled. I felt lonely, I felt under utilized and I didn't know what to do. What came as a breath of fresh air? How to make money from home. Oh Gosh. That would be nice. I would love to have a legitimate business from home. I want that. Okay. And it hit me like a breath of fresh air and I've held onto it ever since. It's been one of those price things and I've spent years holding onto it. A lot of us don't get success right away, but we, hold on, why do we hold on to that? We hold onto it like it's a good song. Like that song that you've gotten in the back of your head, the one that you've known for years, it's something that you hold onto that hope that you can make something work. And for those of us who have been lucky enough to see some success, whatever or your level of success is, it's intoxicating. And every time you get those small wins, you just started growing, growing, you get those big ones, you're like, let's do it again. It's so much fun that it's literally something that hooks you for life and that's okay. But a lot of the times for the first couple of years, you suck. Kind of like I sucked when I say I was not a great singer when I was three years old, I was not there great when I started singing. Uh, that ain't the way to have fun son and one is the loneliest number. I was not that great. There was one year where my parents invested in getting me a voice teacher who I loved to death. If you're watching, I love you to pieces. Um, and got me a voice teacher and uh, and it was Christie and she, um, one year I won an award as most improved, which in truth means last year you sucked in this year you're actually pretty good. It takes years to get good at something and that's okay. What you hold onto is that song you hold onto is that hope and you keep moving. We would all like the results yesterday. Oh, I would love to sing on Broadway. It would be so much fun. I'd love seeing Carnegie Hall. Like I've done jazz. I've done, I've done classical. I've done broad. I, I love musicals, love musicals. Um, and I, I enjoy basically any music. I'm not too too crazy about anything in particular, but I love Broadway stuff and uh, I got to tell you it's something I'll never let go of. And I always want to get better at. I always, I always want to see how I can sing higher and sound better. How can I make it loud when I sing low? How do I, there's always room for improvement. It's something that hooks you in, stays the same. Is True for funnels. All right? We got this. We got an option rate. I didn't make any money, but I got it to work and now I have a list, okay, let's suppose to do something with lists. What do I do with this list? Or, okay, I made a sale. How did I make a sale? How does this work? Analytics? Oh Gosh, okay. Um, let's do analytics. All right? That's part of the game. It's something that hooks you and you just keep going because you have hope. It will work and I'm here to tell you, let that song ring. Let it keep going. Let that hope keep driving you because as you keep peek focused, as you keep going, it will come. You will be the vocalist, you will be no funnel guy. You will be that Gal who makes the difference in the world. You can be that person. I hardly believe that. The whole reason I'm in this game is because you guys change the world and I have loved these past three years as I built for clients. I've loved being able to help you change your message. It's been the most fun in anything I've done in years. And so let the song keep going. Let it keep going. Keep believing we all want things to happen yesterday we all say, I don't have the time for this. I don't have the money for this. I don't have this. Just keep moving forward. Just keep swimming. Just keep singing. Just keep funnel hacking and we'll get there. You'll learn and if you want the shortcut funnel Hackett, no joke. All right guys, thank you for being here. I'll talk to you guys later. And uh, once again, I'm preparing something really, really special for you. So watch out for that. I believe it's in the next episode. We'll see guys. So what I need you to do, keep watching. Let me give you something 100% for free. I think I have it done. So let's get it going for you. Talk to you soon. Okay, Bam. Thank you for being here. If you like this at all, it would mean so very much. If you could leave a review, whether you're on iTunes, Google play, Spotify, soundcloud, youtube, or wherever you are. Leave a quick review and let me know what your favorite story has been. Well, what you've learned, that's been most impactful. It takes less than a minute and it would literally mean the world. Go lever a real quick review, and I'll be working on the next episode for you.

Shazam everybody!   Thanks for being here at Hack That Funnel Radio!   Let’s talk about information overwhelm and how you get one this stuff. Information is great, but too much of it can destroy you. How do you manage each step?   I’m an information junkie. I do way too much! I opened up all the streaming products I’ve bought in figuring this business out, and I had about 30 tabs open in my browser. I sat back and said, I couldn’t watch all of this if I had a full lifetime! But I buy when I’m in pain.   We all do!   it’s just something that’s built into the human experience.   When we buy something, we start to go through it, and soon we get overwhelmed in the details of the product…just in time to be distracts for the next shiny thing that can fix the overwhelm of the first product. We constantly end up bouncing back and forth between all these things!   We go from information overwhelm to new opportunity within information overload, back to information overload - it’s a never-ending cycle of information overwhelm…. STOP.   Stop.   I’ve done this so much. This is like my life as an online marketer. It’s not only learning, it’s buying everyone in sight - going through half of it - and going to buy the next thing. It’s a process that takes a little bit of self-discipline to control that never-ending onslaught. The reason you’re overwhelmed is because you are standing there, getting ready for your exercise with your goal of a 5k in mind at the end of the month. So- what do you have to do? You get a coach. You’re amped up. You’re going to go running this much and this much and then you’re going to do this two times a day this and then change your diet and then… you realize that this kind of stinks! You’re overwhelmed and tired and not sure where you fit in the whole plan that’s supposedly for you.   Well guess what? Those people that have wild success stories, that hit that magical million dollars you hear about? They are the people that go through the training, and hit pause and do the one step that’s put before them first. Those are the people that start to make things work in their business gradually. They’re the people that take the action.   A lot of us don’t take the action. We want to see miles ahead of where we are, because we’re the exception. We’re the special ones that can “handle it.” We want to make sure that we’ve timed all the lights before we put the car into drive.   Guys, you can’t drive your car only when there’s a green light. So many of us only want the “fastest route” and we end up avoiding the green lights all the way through- when honestly, the fastest way is probably to just follow traffic rules and do our time in traffic. Just go through the lights!   A lot of us know we’ve got a destination, and we’re peak focused. We start to go, and then we start to realize that hey, this is hard! The minute you realize it’s hard, you start looking or something that’s just a little easier than this because it’s hard!   You know what the hardest part about doing a business? It’s getting started. It’s moving forward. Just getting moving forward.   When I was a kid, I made a goal that I wanted to be an Eagle Scout by my birthday at age 13. It was the fastest I could possibly do it. My mom reigned me in, sat me down, and we wrote a checklist of goals to get that ultimate goal accomplished. It was for everything I ever needed. I had the ability to swap out merit badges, but it was the whole plan. I used to go to my scoutmaster, checklist in hand and say “Help! I need to learn this!” And I became, with my mother’s help, an Eagle Scout.   Now that you’re an adult, you probably don’t have someone to push you down the tracks at a set pace towards your goal.   I did my physical fitness merit badge for Scouts - a three month endeavor - three separate times. The third time I finished it, the last thing I had to increase my stretch just a little bit to meet all the requirements. I was burning out. My parents were not very hopeful in their son’s ability to do anything physical by that point. But, my mom sat me down and said, “Okay, we’re going to increase your stretch in the next half hour.” And we went slow and steady, and I was ale to hit those benchmarks.   I had already done all the work, it was just that last piece that I was missing, that needed to be clicked into place for me to hit my marks. A lot of us do this exact same thing- we do all the heavy lifting, and we just don’t have anything or anybody pushing us through that last shove. So, a lot of us turn to spending money as a “quick fix” to get us through.   But here’s the issue with spending money: Money replenishes, quick fixes don’t work, and we end up spending more money in trying to find that magical answer.   Your self discipline is the one reason you’re not making it. It was the one reason I wasn’t cutting it. When I realized it, I sat down and said, what do I have to do to get this done already?  This needs to just be done! I took massive action. In one day, I did more in a month on a project I had been struggling with for months. I showed my results to a masterclass team I was working with, and was amazed at the positive feedback I received. They were shocked by the amount of progress I was able to do in a day. That by itself was a testament to the power of just sitting down and “just doing it!”   If you want to get rid of information overload, focus on the step in front of you. What is the task you need to get done next?   Take the step.   Make a plan.   Keep taking steps one at a time.   Go find that one piece of information you need - stop buying into extra products that you don’t need, just find the information you need.   This is a process called “just in time learning.” This was made extremely popular by a friend of mine.   Make a list of the things that are holding you back. You know what they are. When I was trying to get my Eagle Scout, you better believe I knew what was holding me back. I did that merit badge three times because I didn’t have the self discipline to do it all the way the first or second times- I missed days. When you miss one day, you’re more likely to miss two, three, four days.   Stop!   Your job right now is to take action one step at a time.   So, in funnel hacking, what is that step?   Do you know who your competitors are?   Who are you modeling?   What are they doing that’s working?   Do you have a funnel?   Is it working?     How do you do it all?   One step at a time.   That’s all you have to do!   Wherever you are right now on your journey, write down what you need to get done. What’s holding you back? Get yourself a blank sketchbook and write it all out. Go to town! Maybe it’s not the most ideal system, maybe it’s not picture perfect. But do it anyway.   Write it down. And don’t stop stepping.

Hey there everybody. It's been welcome to hack that funnel radio. Today we're talking about why information products suck. So here's the ugly truth. A lot of us buy a lot of information products. If you're like me then you are on a buying frenzy. Like I was at Byron Heat for three years while I was building this out with clients. Like I would just buy an everything like Facebook training. That sounds great. You made a million. Yeah, apply that training. I was just in heat. I was ready to buy everything cause I want to learn, learn, learn, learn, learn, learn, learn. Guess what? Learning does not equal profits. So back in the day, never. You need a lot of us. We can know that. But we don't really know that one behind was like in elementary school I had just moved. Uh, so my family moved around a lot when I was young. I'll start there. My family moved around a lot when I was young and um, we had just moved from Washington to Idaho and I was living in Idaho. I was still, I wasn't among friends. I didn't really know anybody. I felt extremely awkward. And uh, as I was sitting at my desk, um, this gal raises her arm or the teacher asks a question and galleries are armed to answer and the teacher points or it says everybody take note. She always has her hands up, hand up and she's always asking a question. This is a smart girl. You're going to go far. Now I still know that girl to this day. She's a spectacular girl and she is extremely smart. I stroke for the next seven years, six years, uh, middle school and high school to be smart. I wanted to be smart. Oh, I want to just be smart because if I was smart, I was I going to fail? Am I am I teachers or are be proud of me. Oh, that's all. I just wanted them to be able to look at me and now look at me like I was a failure again. I didn't want them to look and be like, that's the kid that struggles. I didn't want that. And I was like, I'm going to change whatever the freak I have to change. And so I hung around. The smart kids didn't quite fit in and they knew that. But you know what? I liked them. We had fun. I was, I didn't mind being a nerd and I was turned into a total nerd and I loved it. And so I spent years trying to be smart. Guess what? Being smart is you just about as much money as being cool. It didn't, it doesn't go very far. I trust me. So what does make you money? What really makes you money? At the end of the day, if it's not an information product that's being sold to you for nine 97 does it have a pathway to success? Yes. More than likely. What? Can it suck? Yes. Why can it suck? I realized this when I did my very first funnel hack and a, I don't know how to explain it other than the fact that after all of the education I've taught, I've taught about bought tens of thousands of dollars, $20,000 now 30,000 worth of products. Guys, I'm in this game and nothing taught me more than the day I spent funnel hacking, learning about my market, learning about what it was selling, learning about what headlines were using, what funnels were working. That day in and of itself taught me more than anything else. And the question is why, why did it teach me more? The king of clickfunnels is Russell Brunson. I love Russell Brunson to this day. Met Him several times, great guy, love everybody at click funnels. And he turned to me earn, he didn't turn to me. I'd always say that I didn't stop saying that. He, he was telling a story where he was talking about when he hadn't made any money as a funnel builder yet or as, as as a business period. And, uh, he was trying to build funnels and it wasn't really working and he was mostly buying everyone's products. And then it got to a point where he couldn't buy anymore anyone's products anymore. And once he got to that point where he couldn't buy any more products, he did something very unique. He watched what people were doing, how were they selling, what was the email sequence? How did they structure their emails? How do they structure their video? Why was their sales page set up this way? And he modeled it. Now what's he want a hundred percent successful. No, but he was successful faster. Like it all came together more quickly. And once he started to figure out, oh, you need upsells. Oh you need this, you need that. You have the potato gun story and you have all of these other businesses that just started to take off for him. Okay. The key to getting all of this working is to understand funnel hacking. And a is, is literally that simple. Everybody skips this cause it's boring and it's, it's killer. But let me tell you, I've spent six, eight months with clients on Facebook ads and they blame me when the Facebook ads don't convert. The funnel doesn't convert. I hate to tell you, I'm the analyst. I'm the person who put the numbers together for you. I'm the person optimizing everything for you. I know what's not working and I'm adjusting and it's working, but there was a time period between your launch and getting it right that it takes a while. Especially when you start with nothing, which is what most people do. They're like, oh yeah, well I was thinking about doing this. Well, is there a click funnels template for that? Yeah, and they do that and they build it out and they have someone else build it out. Does anybody do a funnel hack? No. Why not? Because it's boring. If you model what's already working, the design, the headlights, the video copy model, don't steal model. They are already, they've already spent thousands of dollars, hundreds of thousands of dollars proving this. Did you know that in the, especially the ecommerce space, a lot of the two comma club awards, they spent at least $600,000 to make a million. That's not that great of a return. Guys. It's not that great, but they spent the money. Why? Because the funnel was working. Now, would you be smart or stupid not to try to learn how they did it and model that same process. You'd be smart, but I tell you right now, you would rather listen to somebody talk to you for hours on end about how they did it. Rather than go and buy the product or then go in and learn how they do it, just go through it. Take screenshots. Just truly guys, it's the easiest thing in the world to do. It is the number one way to learn, especially the number one way to shortcut all of this. There's this thing called growth hacking. Have you heard of growth hacking? Growth hacking was built off of funnel hacking. It is literally going and seeing what works, model it and then blow it up. Okay. It's just growth hacking is the professional term. If you want to go super professional, it's marketer research. We do market research here, but we're looking for a growth hacker cause that's kind of a new term. If I had said funnel hacker inside of a business, they'd be like, uh, there was a time when I didn't have a job. Um, I had my business had failed hard and this is before I got my job at my big marketing company and, uh, I was applying everywhere I could and I put funnel hacker on resumes. Tell you what, fastest way not to get anybody to respond to you. Okay? You need to understand funnel hacking, growth hacking, market research, they're the same and it's absolutely required. Let me ask you a question. If you were to do math, would I give you a calculus problem without teaching you the basics of Algebra and geometry? No. Y Calculus is a hardy freaking hard. Okay. I didn't take that class. I don't know how I got out of that, but I did. Um, I took precalc and Oh my God, I didn't do well in that class. Um, and which is why I worked with funnels because it's basic numbers division. Got It. Okay. That's cool. Multiplication. Yeah. Fractions. I can do that. Okay. And so it literally, you ha there's everything builds on the basis of something previous calculus builds off of Algebra, pre-algebra, multiplication, addition, division, all of that. It builds off of that. You have to understand that before you get there. The same is true in anywhere you go. If you're going to look at philosophy, you have to understand where the philosophies came from, what are their roots? Okay. What are all the creation stories from? What are all these people talking about? Okay. Where does that come from and how does that create our current reality? It's important to know in the same way. And guess I'm a geek. I study all of that because it's smart to be smart, but now it's just relaxing to go and see all this stuff and learn. Okay. But, um, if you want to understand quantum physics, multi world theory, string theory, you have to understand physics, which means you have to understand chemistry and science to, to a basic degree. Okay. Everything stands on that. Why would marketing and your business be any different? Instead of talking to somebody who has found the way and is going to chain pay you on how to do it, go find it out yourself. Take the time, go through their system, make notes of everything and get a piece of paper. Get a pen, write down all of the genius things that happened and model it how you, the fastest way for you to hurt yourself is to think that you're the genius that's going to change the world without going back to what was working. I'll tell you what, if Steve Jobs started his business, if he started, uh, if he built, not started the business, if he, if he's sold the iPhone without understanding what an MP three player was or a cell phone, do you think the iPhone would have taken off? No. They came out, if you remember, the first thing they came out with was the iPod after the iPod. They came out with the, with multiple variations of that and then they came out with the video iPod. I remember when that came out. My sister was so excited, she saved all of her money and went and bought one and the next year they were everywhere for cheaper and so she was really upset. But that's okay. Literally, there are steps you need to take that the marketplace has taken, but you need to do those steps if you're going to create an offer, if you're going to create a funnel, if you're going to create a sales message, whatever you're going to do, you must stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before. You must. You must because I guarantee you if you try, you're gonna spending six to eight months losing money and not want and wondering why funnel don't, why don't funnels work and why doesn't Facebook app work? Why doesn't follow at work? Why doesn't any of this work? That's why it doesn't work. Because you thought you were a genius and you didn't work on what's currently working today. You didn't stand on the shoulders of what's working. It's literally that simple and it's funny because as I've gotten my funnels to work, I started to be able to rub shoulders with this coming. Some of the bigger guys up here and in the world and funnels that are, that are working and they're like, oh gosh, you understand it? And I'm like, this isn't a secret. Nobody tells funnel hacking is the key that unlocks the door. But you need to do it ethically and you need to take the time and I guarantee you it will shortcut faster than that force will. Now, nothing against information products. I sell information products, nothing against information products. The goal of an information product is to give you the information that you need for forget to get from here to here. That's the goal of f of an information product, okay? That's it. But I guarantee you, if you take that information product and you add on a funnel hack anymore, you've won, okay? But the key is to do that. It is to funnel hack. Don't just think that they're going to go and get all the results for you because you bought their course. It doesn't work that way. What does work is getting your butt out there. Do a little bit of research and it all works out. Guys, this is why funnel hacking works. It's, it's simple, but it's so boring. Everybody skips it, but it is literally that easy and I don't know if I can take a sledgehammer to this anymore. I'm sure I will, but not in the next couple episodes you've heard it enough. So thank you for watching this guys. This has been episode number two. Thank you for being here and hang on for episode number three, four and five specifically I'm creating something that I want to give you guys for free. There's something I'm, I've been building, I've been working out. I want to give it to you 100% for free. I haven't quite built it yet. It's coming, but it's not there yet. So what I'm doing is I'm getting it ready for you. And so by video four five I podcast four or five youtube, wherever you are, you should be able to watch that. All right, so if you could do that for me, just keep watching. Stay on. I'm going to give you something spectacular for free. It's going to be worth it. I can guarantee it. I'll see you guys over there and Bam, thank you for being here. If you like this at all, it would mean so very much. If you could leave a review, whether you're on iTunes, Google play, Spotify, soundcloud, youtube, or wherever you are, leave a quick review and let me know what your favorite story has been. Well, what you've learned, that's been most impactful. It takes less than a minute, and it would literally mean the world. You'll leave a real, yeah, quick review and I'll be working on the next step to sell for you.

Hey everybody, my name is Ben Moote and this is hack that funnel radio. All right, there is a term that is the most misunderstood term in all of marketing, especially online marketing. And I want to talk to you about it right now and so you've gotta be ready for this. There's a lot of terms out there, Kate, I'm sure you've heard about this one. If you're watching me on youtube, you're seeing me. Where it k a this is going out by the way, that youtube is going out to my podcast. It's going out to my blog. It's going couple of different places. All right, so that's really, really cool. So you, wherever you are, you can catch me in multiple different areas. But the question is what does this term like, what does this term that nobody understands and why doesn't anybody understand it? The term ready for this, the term is funnel hacking seeming, I don't know what a funnel hacking is. Look, I've been a funnel hacker for over five years. Then I know what I'm doing. I've been funnel hacking since click funnels was Beta then I don't want funnel hacking is, and I've been, I'm, I'm an, I'm a market, I am a professional. I don't do hacking. I do marketer research. Oh congratulations. Okay. Funnel hacking is the most misunderstood vocabulary word period in the funnel world in marketing world ever. And the reason it's misunderstood is because everyone sees it as the shortcut, which it is, but no one understands why it is the shortcut. Nobody, it, nobody knows how it works. They all just think, oh, I have build a funnel. And that's a funnel hacking. And it's incorrect. And the reason I know this is because I've spent literally the last six years doing this. On June of 2013 on my birthday, I bought my very first product from a funnel and said, what is this? Like a whole system was an automated business online and I was like, oh my gosh, I don't have to create a brick and mortar business in order to free my family myself. I can create an online business and that Aha hat, oh, I can do this, and then took that steps, took the next steps. The next six months I quit my job. After quitting my job. Over the next six months, I fell into Russell Brunson's lap. Literally just started buying everything I could find from this guy and Russell Brunson, the creator of clickfunnels, creator of.com secrets of book expert secrets, a soon to be traffic secrets like he was ingenious. I joined the inner circle. I was doing absolutely every little thing I could to be inside of this and understand how it works. I used all my savings that I had for a business in that in learning, and I said, okay, time to make money. I'm going to put in, I'm going to build out the most perfect funnel anyone's ever seen. This is going to be spectacular. Then I'm going to pay for ads or I'm going to start blogging or I'm going to do something and it's going to get people there and it's all going to work. So I build out my funnel. I built out an affiliate offer on the backend and I started running traffic to it. I run traffic around traffic around traffic, didn't work, and instead of trying to figure out why it wasn't working, I felt like I'd failed. Like I had put so much money and effort and sweat and belief into this idea that this was the thing that was going to make everything work. And I'm an analyst, analyst and now list. I'm an analyst before anything else. And so I looked at the numbers. I knew it wasn't working because the numbers sucked. It hurt and and money was just, I didn't have any more at that point. It was, it was falling apart. I was broke, I was lost. I was confused and I didn't like it, and so what did I do? This funnel game works. I knew it worked. I knew in my heart it worked. I'd gone through all this training. I've gone through all this indoctrination. I'd quit my job. I knew this. So I went and I created another funnel and another funnel and another fall and another fall. I created 15 full product funnels with membership areas, products done, 15 different full products. I can tell you one of the most painful things is hurting so bad that you're willing to do anything and you do anything and it still doesn't provide it and you're left wondering why. So you'd go back and you educate yourself more. You'd go when you try to do more and it still leads you to the same exact issue. I sat down before I got on this, on this journey, and all I wanted when I pictured was I wanted a house for my wife. We'd been married for a year. I wanted that house for my wife. She had it. We had this little perfect idea of what I wanted our house to be like on a hill. Um, had enough square footage. Um, I could have my own little office where I would do stuff and I would work with a team and she could do whatever she wanted to do. I didn't care if she worked. I didn't care what she did, but she was happy in all truth. All I wanted to do was I wanted to provide, cause I now had a job in six to eight months. Okay. And not being a provider was killing me. I grew up in a culture where you are the provider as a husband. You provide, you are the one who responsible to do this. My wife was bringing home more money than I was easily. I wasn't bringing home anything and uh, it was, it was painful. It was beyond painful. Any money that I made, like I, I made oh two sales, one for $7 and one for $297. As an affiliate. I'll tell you that money did not come home. It went back into the system of me trying to make it all work and it never did. So what do you do? Well, I knew how to build funnels. I knew this, I loved it. I was involved. I was, I was, I promised my soul to this. I felt like I had to do something. I was a funnel hacker and so I decided I would jump and I would do this for other people. And a good friend who reached out and told me, Ben, you're not a failure. You don't know how to do this for other people in. A lot of people don't know how to do this from the start though, help them. So, oh, okay. So I went and did that. I didn't even build a funnel. I was so scared of funnels. I didn't build a funnel for myself. I went on upwork and I built out my own little upwork profile and I sold my time on upwork. And at first I was like $7 an hour and things started to work and I started work with a bunch of customers and I build hundreds of funnels. Some of them got some really good five figure results, six figure results. At one point I couldn't tell who was going to win. It was like a 50 50 I had no idea. Just let me help you. We'll take it as far as we can go, and everyone was like, oh my gosh, Ben, you know so much. I'm like, yeah, I built 15 for myself. That didn't go anywhere. I can definitely coach you on how to do not what I did. I did that. I earned minimum wage at worked for two years. Heaven, thank you. And that made something, but it wasn't out of funnels. It was funnel services I fell on, still didn't convert, never converted unless it was somebody else's funnels and they worked 50 50 I learned how to drive traffic. I learned how to write copy other and how to become an amazing clickfunnels designer. I learned all the different types of funnels I learned from an EAC single. I learned from Vick's transits. I learned from Russell Bronson. I learned from Frank Kern. I learned from everybody I could and every, all the dollars I made, I put back into my education because I wanted to make this work. Not so much everybody else. Yes, because that's where I was going. But I wanted this work from he got started. That's why I got into this two years pass, making minimum wage. I had my wife wanting to quit her job and she was turning to me and asking, do you think we can actually do this on your income and this hole in my stomach? I've never felt like if I was, it's really hard to explain. And then for those of you who are, who are watching, you're seeing the pain on my face. For those of you who are listening, I hope you, I hope you've never been there, but there were such moment of despair, like my stomach sunk so low in my heart started to beat so slow. I just wished I was dead. So one of this to work and I said, yes honey, I can make this work. And do you know how, why? I knew I could make that work because I could work 80 hour weeks and I could make it work. [inaudible] I could make this work, I could provide. At that point I had a customer come to me and the customer said, I would really appreciate it, Ben, if you did everything for us. Like, you know how to video edit, you're not a new copy. You know how to do emails, you know how to do everything, you know, to build it all. You know how to integrate it. You know how to do an advanced integration with Zapier and all these different other systems. Why don't you do this for us and we'll pay you a really good salary. And I said, that's fine, but if we're going to do that, I'm not a salary. A really good, um, I wanted to say, I, I still remain a freelancer. Um, I was going to be a freelance. I was going to be my own agency. I was not gonna do that. So I took money as a, as a freelancer agency, we're going to give you this certain amount per month. I was like, okay, cool. But if we're going to do that, I'm going to make sure that you get results. So I'm going to give me like a couple of days to wrap my brain around everything I may not have done right. I didn't say this out loud. Give me, give me a couple minutes to figure out like what I've missed. So I stepped back and I started going through everything. I start listening to frank, I start listening to Russell, I start listening to, uh, Steven Larson at the time. I started listening to everybody. And the thing that stood out that was really funny, I was watching the funnel hacks Webinar again, and we're, we're Russell sells click funnels for nine 97. And uh, as well as, as well as his training course. And I purchase and uh, and I realized he teaches the entire thing is funnel hacking. [inaudible] officially, but I've only been a funnel hacker for a year, but I've been funnel hacking for s five years and I've been in funnels for sex, but I've only been a funnel hacker for a year. And what is the difference? When I was watching the Webinar, I realized, he's telling me I need to go and look at people who are doing it correctly and model them. Stop trusting the customer. No was what works. Quote unquote customer doesn't know. Only the market knows what's working right now. And if I can take what what the market tells me is working and implement that, I can, I can funnel hack like I can, I can make that work. We can add hack, we can copy hack, we can, we can video hack. But you do all these different things. We can make this work modeling without copying. I can do this. And so I came back to them. I said, that's great, but the first month all I'm going to do is funnel hack for you. And they said, Ben, that sounds spectacular. And they, and we put it down, we wrote it all, we signed the contracts and with went, what is funnel hacking? Really? I mean at the end of the day, what is funnel hacking? I got started and I'm like, okay, this is great. I've got money in the bank. This is wonderful. Um, what do I do? Where do you, where do you go to funnel hack? At the time it was in the mortgage industry. Where do I go to funnel hack mortgage industry? How do I find what funnels are working like? I can't just Google it. That's just googling whatever. SEO is the best. It's not googling exactly what's making money. How can I tell if somebody is making money, how could I find that person? How can I do this? It took the first week of just figuring out how to hack, researching, documenting, trying, failing and going over and over trying to figure out how to hack correctly. How do you do funnel hacking? How do you do market research one-on-one for funnels? How do you do it? That was my main question and it took me that first week. The second week I actually started doing it and we started going into different people and modeling what was working and I took all of their systems and I had a white board at the time. I wrote everything on the Whiteboard, everything I possibly could in map got all the possibilities. Week number three, I thought I had a good idea with number four. I went and funnel hacked a little bit more and they came back to them with an idea of how to do the build. That is funnel hike. Now I'm going to tell you what happened is the end result because it blew my socks off. Um, a lot of the times when you launch something, uh, it's, it's the most painful experience. Cause I've talked about with my last 15 launches, right? It's, it's like you are ready to take off for the air, but you usually do a little bit of a hop and skip, but we'll stay on the tarmac and you end up in the mud pit at the end of the track. It's painful and you're like, Gosh, why would I put myself through that again? And so I'm going, please, oh please. Oh please. I've done everything I possibly can to make this successful. Come on, we can do this. And it launched and we were getting leads for dirt cheap off of ads that I had had hacked off of the full funnel that I had funnel hacked. The whole copy of that had copy hacked the systems, the way that people went through it, everything was hacked and it worked for, it's been spectacular. The problem is they worked so well that their system broke, so I literally had to take a step back. We rebuilt their entire system inside of clickfunnels, the entire application to get to get a mortgage. I built the whole thing in clickfunnels and put it through there and I tracked the cost and click funnels. You'll never guess what it was costing less than a hundred dollars to get somebody there. Now you tell me if I can give you somebody who is interested in getting a mortgage. Now it's filled out a full application. Is that worth $100 to you as a real estate agent who, Oh yeah. I know people who spend 150 $300 for one of those leads, like it made sense and I said Hot Dang. Diggity everybody I tell about this, they're all freaking out. I think I didn't did I this then do they actually do this? And so I said, no, there was no way. So I went and I found another customer at the time and the dentist industry and they wanted their funnel and they wanted the ads and they wanted this great. I'm not doing anything for a week. I'm going to funnel hack. They're like, whatever that is great. Go find what's working in, use it. Wonderful. So I went into that and I funnel hacked and I found out what worked and what didn't. And I built it out and we tested and a, the first month I didn't, I didn't know how to funnel hack quite right. So the first month didn't do so great. The second month was spectacular. We get somebody as an applicant in order to get into a, who would apply to get a free cleaning for $40 sometimes 20 and it just blew the industry socks off and it was spectacular. And this customer was like, wow. Um, all right. And so then the next issues come up. How do we follow up? How do we do this? How do we make sure they get in the office, they all the other things that happen outside of the online funnel and it just exploded. I went to my next customer, I did the funnel hack and it worked again. The last year I've been doing nothing but funnel hacking. Before I do anything else, I refuse to do a full on funnel hack. What is a funnel hack? A funnel hack is researching what's working in the industry so that way you don't start at the beginning. You start where successes, you start on what successful is that will you stand on the shoulders of what's already already is working? There is no reason for you to go back and start with science and Algebra when you're trying to figure out quantum physics. It doesn't work. The same is true for anything, especially marketing and that's what funnel hacking is. That's the essence for the last year. I've been funnel hacking correctly and I'll tell you what's changed in my life. I can be paid what I'm worth as a funnel hacker. That means a lot. As a true blue funnel hacker, that means a lot. Okay. Number one, I can charge what I'm worth. Number two, I can get customers results. It's not so much that I get a lot of money. I can then turn that money into profits for the customer and for myself. That is my new goal. We now have our house. My wife isn't working. She's trusted that I'm able to do this because the last year I've proven I can. We now have a lot of dogs. We had a dog and a cat back in the day. Right now we have, uh, we have at least seven dogs and two cats. Um, and then we're fostering dogs constantly. That's what my wife loves to do. She's a dog fostering machine and an animal foster and she works with local rescues and she does spectacular work that I can drop my hat and help her with when I need to, which changes everything because we do that. I now have a dog that is a permanent resident in my room. His name is chicken. Um, he is a little Chihuahua. Yes, I have a dog named chicken. Uh, he's a little Chihuahua and he, uh, he has some sort of doggy autism. I'm not joking. Like he has a really hard time with input and so he lives in my room. Um, I'll see if I can introduce you to him really quick ticket. Nah, he's asleep. That's okay. You'll see him at some point in one of the episodes or hear from him. If you hear something in the background, it's him barking. It's, I try to keep him quiet, but he might be drinking or eating or playing. So the number one thing that's important is not, I can provide there is, and this whole of I can't be somebody. I can't be that person I'm supposed to be. And that's taken care of. Like I can stand on my own two feet and I can provide for my family. This podcast is all about how you turn funnel hacking to work for you because that's what I'm doing now in my business. I've used it for clients, I've helped clients gain massive success. Now it's my turn to use it for myself. And along the way, I'm going to teach you how to funnel hack how it works piece by piece so that when you're not extremely lost, because trust me, it happens. Hey, funnel hacking is a science. It's not an art funnel. Hacking is all about using tools and understanding frameworks in order to model what worked in the past, what worked successfully in the past, not just something that someone built and you found it because you googled click funnels, dentist crawl, click full sentence, Todd, this must work. Somebody built the funnel for it. [inaudible] go. Please don't get a lot of people build funnels, okay? This is the path to making marketing work and especially funnel marketing.
