I have long been fascinated by the history of the Mesopotamian region. The Yezidi people are the direct descendants of the inhabitants of ancient Mesopotamia. They have their own culture and religion, and they have been persecuted for thousands of years - most recently, by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (also known as Daesh). I spoke to Dr Amy L. Beam, author of 'The Last Yezidi Genocide', about the ordeals of Yezidi men, women and children.

Until quite recently, I believed feminism had once been justified, and it was simply no longer necessary. I have changed my mind.

By referring to a healthy man’s innate nature as toxic, feminists harm everyone – not just men, but women, too. If men are confused about how they should behave and what their role in society is, they’re not going to become the best individuals they can be. They will become depressed and withdrawn, leaving women wondering where all the real men are.
