John the Apostle wrote in the epistle that God is love. God didn’t change all of a sudden from the Old Testament to the New Testament. He has always been a God of grace and mercy and love. Jeremiah 31:3 can reiterate in your mind the very essence and nature of his love for you.
Psalm 23 offers great comfort to the Believer. It speaks of the assurance we have in the presence of the Father, and the indwelling Holy Spirit. Our life on earth is purposeful, and our end is certain. We can rest in that assurance.
I find great comfort in James 1:5-8. There, the author shares his conviction that God gives wisdom to anyone who asks without finding fault. God is happy to show us what to do, and won’t chastise us first, as some humans are wont to do. Today, if you don’t know what to do in any situation, ask God. He will show you the way.
