I've seen the after-effects of the disaster of the Maui Fires and have become aware of the damage that can also be caused by our pain and suffering. This is a talk and meditation to help ease the anger and judgement that has been so difficult to deal with. Love can help to get us through this very challenging time.
The devasting fires on Maui have brought much sadness and frustration to the island. A lot o news stores have picked up on what went wrong. I wish that more could see the love and aloha that so many are sharing. Aloha is alive and survives
so many prayers heard
so much healing energy observed
in dancing rays light across the sky
those who passed over watch
and grace their loved ones
with their blessings from on high
Aloha survives
so many trying to help
attempting to figure out why
past comprehension
past understanding
it’s time to recover the remains
and she’d tears and say goodbye
please remember that Spirit
and let Aloha survive
even a little aloha
helps us all get by
what has happened is devastating
we cannot deny
the blame game is played
with anger that cuts and divides
but it’s love that heals
it’s the aloha we need
it’s time to see
all the good that’s being revealed
Aloha Survived
I talk about the Fire in Lahaina and dealing with grief and suffering with love.
we grieve
the loss, the suffering, the pain
we grieve the death
if so many known and unknown names
we do what we can
and realize it’s not enough
and so we grieve
with each breath we breathe
the smell of burning
brings fear and worry
and we pray
we can not deny
as more heartbreaking news
brings a tear to our eyes
what is grieve
but love preservering
and love mixes that grief
with a sigh
hearts broken open wide
as we cry
and watch the smoke from the fires
fill the sky

I talk about how imporatn it is to do what we can to help the world situation in any way possible. Escaping the world while here may not be the answer. facing the world and doing the best we can do my be what makes a difference.
there’s been so many
who wish to escape
the pain that they must face
if you’re addicted to the bliss
After Gods first kiss
when the higher reality sees
We must fix the foundation needs
in time we must face our fear
I think it’s becoming clear
we have to deal
with what’s going on here
instead of running away
we have to find a way
to heal what divides and separates
we all want to feel great
we have lots of ways to meditate
but for humanity to survive
we must help others with their lives
if you’re addicted to the bliss
what happens after that kiss
the higher reality exists
to help fix what really is
we must understand
to lend a helping hand
we must learn to love ourself
and then perhaps we can
work to serve a higher plan

There is such a great gift in using Goodwill as a tool in your life. With goodwill you stay positive and you learn to see the good in yourself and others. You learn to extend that positive energy outwards in what you do and say. Using goodwill you can offer others a olive branch to find a way to find the best way to work and live together in peace.

In the time of darkness there is light. This is a deep talk and meditation about darkness and light. Many spiritual holi-days are celebrated at this time of year, Christmas, Hanukkah, Diwali symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness. I go into how we embody the light and maintain the light and use the light in our life.
A deep dive into how and why we give and receive. Based on a poem i wrote, called the Begging Bowl. I do a meditation with an exercise on how to receive more light and love
how do we serve and give
how do we find a way
the share more in how we live
there are so very many
empty begging bowls
asking for us to help
and feed a starving soul
there will always be
those who are hungry
with call to feed those
who are in great need
there are many empty begging bowls
and many whose bowls are full
what can we do to give
something to help the whole
sometimes it’s a small gift
an act of kindness
that makes the world
a better place to live
we all have needs to feed
we all have gifts to share
it’s nice to see the give and take
find a way to show we care
empty begging bowls
can be a chalice
and become an offering
a chance to share our blessings
For when we empty our bowl
more can be received

The first collaboration of Hawaiian falsetto singer Leokāne Pryor and Grammy®- winning guitarist Jim Kimo West takes the listener on a journey from the Hawaiian ocean to the mountaintop called Lanihuli (Swirling Heavens). Since humans arrived on the islands, 95 of 142 bird species found nowhere else have become extinct on Hawai'i. 33 of Hawai'i's remaining 44 endemic birds are listed under the Endangered Species Act; 11 of those have not been seen for decades and are likely extinct. A portion of the proceeds from Lanihuli goes towards efforts to protect Hawaii’s fragile ecosystem. www.jimkimowest.com

Had a great talk with Carmen Gardner on her upcoming art trip, Different Strokes in Tuscany.
https://www.ilchiostro.com/workshops/different-strokes-in-tuscany/?workshopinfo=1
This is one of the most insightful interviews I've done. I recorded this a few years ago, and Best Selling author Garry Zukav and Linda Francis shared very important information about spiritual relationships. Linda transitioned on from a Stroke on August 6th. I feel it makes more of an impact hearing her and Gary's insights. He said, I have learned that the difficult times in my life are not because of other people, they are because of me. They occur because of parts of my personality that are painful to experience. When I am with someone who brings them up in me, that is a painful time, but I know that it is not about the other person when I feel angry or impatient or irritable

I wrote a song called Believe before I watched the Ted Lasso Series on Apple TV. I Love th fact that ther i a character out there who believes i being positive, giving the underdog a chance and has a great way of doing the right thing. Here are a few great Ted Lasso quotes:
"As the man once said, the harder you work, the luckier you get."
"You know what the happiest animal on Earth is? It's a goldfish. You know why? It's got a 10-second memory."
"If the Internet has taught us anything, it's that sometimes it's easier to speak our minds anonymously."
"I think that you might be so sure that you're one in a million, that sometimes you forget that out there you're just one in 11."
"It's just a group of people who care, Roy. Not unlike folks at a hip-hop concert whose hands are not in the air."

She got to play with Julian Lennon and Julian Marley. We alo talk about her new release party coming up Monday August 22
I talk to award winning Stephen Melillo about the process of recording Love Conquers All, The Gift. Stephen said, One of the cool stories from our recent recording of the Smithfield HS and MS choirs was the stepping up of a volunteer. Because the intended soloist was a no-show, I asked, “Who wants to sing the solo?” All of the kids pointed to the bashful, Catherine Day. The bell rang. The kids left. Some close friends stayed to support Catherine.
Catherine bravely stood in front of Roland’s mics. Roland, who defines gentleness, himself with 3 daughters, explained to Catherine what we needed to do.
As a result, Catherine was perfect for the solo. She sounded exactly as the Composer intended, like an innocent child, sharing an important Message with the world. “Love Conquers All.”
Enjoy & Godspeed! S
Love Conquers All, the Gift, a Trailer for the Single, comes from the Soon to be released Album, “Love Conquers All, When Heaven Merges With Earth”. Go to: thisloveconquersall.com for more info and the video.
The White Hawaiian, starring Eric Gilliom, is a smart and witty one-man show that first debuted in 2019 to sold-out audiences at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. Following its initial success in 2020, White Hawaiian did it again at Mulligan’s on the Blue in Wailea with more sell-out shows and rave reviews. This summer, Gilliom will reprise his roles for two nights followed by a matinee each month at the ProArts Playhouse in Kihei. White Hawaiian will have a three-month residency with the opening weekend starting on July 8th,9th, and 10th followed by August 12th, 13th, 14th, and finally September 16th, 17th, and 18th, 2022.
The White Hawaiian was written by Eric Gilliom and Brian Kohne and is based on Eric Gilliom’s famous family history and Eric’s career as an entertainer. Furiously donning outlandish wigs with gaudy costumes, the story unfolds from his great grandparents to his grandparents on down to his parents then seamlessly into growing up with his six-time Grammy-nominated sister, Amy Hānaialiʻi Gilliom. The reliving of his career highlights and follies makes this a full-circle story that is rich and entertaining.

I do a talk and meditation on the power of goodwill, and i talk about the Great Invocation.
World Invocation Day has been observed on the day of the Gemini full moon since 1952. The Great Invocation is used to invoke spiritual energies of Light, Love and Purpose.
God’s purpose for humanity, the divine Plan, works out as human beings respond, organically and often unconsciously, to these higher energies.
Please use the Great Invocation on World Invocation Day, and every day, with dedication and mindfulness. You will be contributing to the One Work of building right relations.
World Invocation Day is a world day of prayer and meditation when men and women of every spiritual path join in a universal appeal to divinity and use the Great Invocation.
I talk to Lisa Dahl, the Executive Chef/Restaurateur of Dahl Restaurant Group which includes Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill, Dahl & Di Luca Ristorante Italiano, Cucina Rustica and Pisa Lisa in Sedona, Arizona. Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Lisa's passion for cooking is inspiring and makes her pretty fabulous.
Lisa ha a new book out, A Romance with Food shares with you my interpretation of bold cuisine that I coin—Latin fusion cooking. What sets this book apart is that it’s more than a mere collection of recipes. It’s a cooking style intertwined with storytelling and compelling visuals. My hope is that it helps you feel the soul of the food, as I do. I don’t complicate the techniques or use obscure tools or ingredients. You can easily make these recipes using your own home-chef tools, oven, and backyard grill.

i talk with Suzy about what to ea an drink to tay cool in hot weather.
Suzy has a degree in experiential education and ecopsychology. I had some beautiful experiences at Prescott College getting to know the southwest, practicing community activism, reflecting on cultural perspectives, and diving into the psyche. Through my twenties, I got to experience comfortable and uncomfortable chapters with travel and personal development. My work has largely revolved around healthy food — cooking, farming, working in health food stores, and helping to put out a permaculture podcast — and I also spent two years working in the school system.
I decided in 2015 that my desire was to have a little health food store. I am so grateful for all of the support I have received in bringing this desire to life
When she was working at The Food Conspiracy Co-Op in Tucson, a customer of mine wished me a Happy Interdependence Day. He then smiled and said, “…because we all need each other.”
That message has stayed with me these past few years and has offered me inspiration and a sense of purpose regarding the store.

I talk to Shey Khandro...As world citizens, we have an opportunity, quite possibly a responsibility, to bring our best qualities forth for the benefit of all. Giving birth to the deepest aspirations of our hearts, through our words and our deeds. My art is my voice, I speak of loving kindness, compassion and peace." Sherab Khandro
Accomplished painter, sculptor, speaker and writer, Sherab "Shey" Khandro draws inspiration from her years of philosophical study and over two decades of work as a professional in the visual arts. Formally trained by Tibetan masters in exile in the U.S., Sherab Khandro brings years of spiritual training to all of her work. Exploring symbols within our modern culture, imbuing her work with intention, she tells a story, inviting us to remember what is important in life and the qualities we are committed to embracing for the benefit of all.
Through symbols of transformation: images of the Buddha and totems found in nature, she reminds us of our own natural beauty, and the power of small acts to make a difference. Drawn to the architecture of a composition in both paintings and sculpture, she is equally inspired by the play of color and the exploration dimension and form. Often interactive, her sculpture is an invitation to engage.
Using the detailed technique of pointillism in her paintings, the neo-impressionist style in which tiny dots of color create rich and vibrant imagery. With each stroke of the brush comes a prayer of compassion. Each dot, offered as a jewel, a prayer to end suffering in the world.

i go into the quote from Marianne Williamson,
Here is the whole quote:
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. ~Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of "A Course in Miracles," 1992 (commonly misattributed to Nelson Mandela, 1994 inauguration speech)

We all have had experiences or have known good people who have had bad things happen to the. Often the question arises, If there is a God, why woul He let this happen? Sometimes it's not even spoken, but people will get angry, frustrated and resentful. Those feeling can put a shadow over your life, and you might not even realize it. I go into the reasons tht God is not responsible for all of what happens on Earth. We have that option of free will. If you have some painful times this might help.
unity in our heart unity in our soul unity in our being humans here to learn and grow

There is such a gift in Understanding. When we truly understand from the highest perspective then we can have great compassion for the people who are struggling an suffering. Compassion helps us to be non-judgemental and to forgive. It is such an important gift to use in life to find peace.
I ask a few questions to determine if you may be an empath. I believe we are seeing many more empaths coming in and as people become more aware more people are becoming more sensitive to energy. Find out if you are an empath and tools you can use to protect yourself and use your gifts.
I talk with Gylian Solay About A global voice Of Peace and the Peace Prayer
When 9-11 happened, a volcano erupted within- spuing forth questions about how to bring people together in peace, for myself and the world. Where is my safety net? I felt a soul-level urge to gather all forces of peace to spread a brighter light overshadowing the ever-present darkness.
My journey for “Peace of Being” was channeled into 20 years of monthly emails - A Global Voice of Peace. In the course of creating this website, I found myself garnering years of seminars, spiritual journeys, living in other countries and cities. I finally found HOME in Hawaii. First on the Big Island from 1992-1994, then in 2006, Maui was my landing pad, where I have remained, with a 1-yr interlude on Kauai.
A Global Voice of Peace is more than MY voice or YOUR voice, it’s ME + YOU = WE a World Energy for change, for peace, for our lives now & into future generations. AGVOP is a hub, a conduit, connecting Peace Initiatives world-wide as seen on Peace of Place, Peace of Mind, Peace of Spirit

I talk with Grammy Award winning Ricky Kej, about his new collaboration with Stewart Copeland, from The Police, which has received a grammy nomination for this years Grammys, in New age Category. 'DIVINE TIDES' by rock-legend Stewart Copeland (The Police) and Ricky Kej features artists from all over the world - Soundscapes and melodies meet pulsating rhythms amidst lush ambient textures, which elevate the senses into a realm of spiritual solitude, where the soul is free - one with itself, one with time, one with our planet. All individuals are interconnected and the decisions one makes affects all life around us. Each individual life plays a crucial role in maintaining the balance that serves all equally. 'DIVINE TIDES' illustrates these thoughts through its diverse musical canvas that showcases a world where we can adapt to change, just like the moving tides - a world in which all life can live sustainably and in harmony.
