Hey, Best friends,

This week I sat down with special guest Coach Keisha King to talk about turning our wounds into wisdom and moving from being hurt, confused and frustrated in relationships to showing up as healed and happy and attracting fascinating relationships.

We talked about:

  • Why we often repeat failed patterns in relationships.
  • The signs that we need to step away from habits that are not working and finally start our healing journey.
  • The first steps someone should take when ready to start healing from their past hurts
  • What to do when we fall off track, feel stuck or become tired of trying to find love?
  • How to know that the work is really working and we are becoming healing, healthy and happy.

Keisha King is an ordained minister, entrepreneur, empowerment and inspirational speaker who is a born-again believer in Christ. As a minister of love and certified relationship coach, she coaches kingdom women to love themselves first and prioritize proper healing so they can attract healthy, loving relationships. A New York native, Keisha's ultimate goal and purpose in life is to help as many hurting women as possible, heal before loving again, and walk alongside them while navigating through the transition of heartbreak to understand that there is life on the other side of what feels like death.By exemplifying God's love, using biblical teachings, and utilizing her own life experiences Keisha has coached many women to their breakthroughs in healing and obtaining healthy, fruitful relationships with themselves and while dating. She often says her desire is to inspire before she expires and that's precisely what she does. Keisha is raising a standard and breaking the chains of fear off of the lives of women worldwide and she's not holding back.Beyond her love for coaching, Keisha is a single mother of four handsome Kings, a planner lover, and will soon be releasing her very own merch line "BecomingHer Apparel".Check out her podcast and Instagram page here: https://www.instagram.com/coachkeishaking/

We all fall victim to the perfectionism trap at various points in our life.

We love sharing memes on our WhatsApp status and Facebook stories about not caring about what others think. But deep down we all want to appear to be perfect parents, coworkers and friends.

We buy stuff, go places and do things to keep up appearances.

The thing is, keeping up appearances is the kryptonite for Authenticity. If we really want to enjoy genuine connections and experiences, we have to be willing to set aside the illusion of perfectionism.

This episode shares 5 things you should remember about perfectionism and why we should all be more focused on living a purposed life instead of a perfect one

You are enough, you really are.

The thing is I can tell you this 1000 times unless your Self-esteem agrees with me, this will just be another motivational post.

See your self-esteem as your personal evaluation of your own worth. It considers beliefs about yourself...Like you are enough, you are important, you are worthy.

Self-esteem also considers your emotional states. Self-esteem dictates if you're showing up in this fascinating life #winning or if your actions and behaviours are led by shame..

On the other hand, self Confidence is not walking into a room and feeling better than everyone there, it's walking into a room and not having to compare yourself at all.

Confidence is the ability to trust yourself and the desired outcome. Just like that fascinating life, you have right now, the fabulous future you're creating.

Do you have the courage to continue pursuing it?

ALSO

I’m teaching the importance of self-esteem to create a fascinating life and so much more in the coming weeks, look out for the BAE Factory. An online workshop to help us build a life we love and are excited about.

In the meantime, catch these gems on self-esteem and self-confidence in this week’s episode

We're continuing the conversation about changes and this time we're thinking about changes in our careers.  As the generation that is the largest contributor to the workforce, organisational culture impacts millennials more than any other generation.    I'm really excited about this because it means we are in a very unique position to amplify the things that work and improve/change those that don't.  In today's episode, I'm talking about the 5 areas I believe we can make changes for the better.  1. Overcoming the concern of candor - we need more candid conversations 2. Overcoming distraction culture 3. Ending Apathy - indifference hurts us more than it hurts others 4. Commit to more holistic Personal Development 5. Change the gender narrative - empowerment is for everyone    Let me know if you agree or disagree in the comments below.  Earrings: will let you know soon, haven't gone back into St. George's as yet to get the name of the store (sorry)

Personal development is an essential tool for everyone and this is especially true for millennials.  We're at a fantastic age where we know a lot but we also have to keep up with learning so many new things.   The idea of constantly having to learn or improve yourself may seem daunting but in this episode, I'm sharing 3 super easy, super affordable ways for personal development, they are. 1. By reading a book - self-improvement really doesn't get easier than this.  By making time to read as little as 10 minutes a day you can change the way your brain functions.  2. Join a social / networking group  - I joined Toastmasters International in 2019 to help improve my speaking skills for this podcast.  It has been amazing with helping me prepare speeches and meeting some new cool people.  As millennials, I believe we are just the right age to try new things   3. Practice gratitude and forgiveness - this tip may seem a little unorthodox but it's so effective.  Gratitude has an amazing capacity to transform any situation for the better.  So being grateful for your life is an instant upgrade.   As for forgiveness, well at our age there are many reasons to be upset at others and ourselves, learning how to forgive improves our relationships and enhances opportunities for growth and development.  Win-win. Have you ever heard of the term decision fatigue?   If not, let me catch you up. As the name suggests, decision fatigue basically means that the more choices we have to make, the less likely we will make good ones (sounds like some guys I know lol).   Anyways, this is a mind-boggling phenomenon where a person's capacity to make good decisions diminishes as the number of decisions they have to make increases.     Research shows that as millennials, we have far more decisions to make than our parents did at our age simply because of the number of options we have.  From simple decisions like the kind of shoes to buy to more substantial ones like deciding where and when to buy a home, we are bombarded with choices.  And the more choices we have, the more decisions we get to make, which can be EXHAUSTING! But do not fear, this episode will help you figure it all out. I love you so much for listening.  Be sure to like the episode and subscribe so you never miss new ones.

Practicing sweetness is a deliberate hack I'm using to help me navigate relationships with myself and others.    Since #covid19 I've been finding it harder to stay true to my light-hearted nature.  I've learned to improve my relationships with myself and others by deliberately staying in my sweetness.  I do so by  1. Increasing my ability to trust 2. Setting boundaries 3. Giving zero shits about competition 4. Loving and accepting my self - body, mindset, etc 5. Thinking about my purpose, passion, and contribution to the world  View the video episode on YouTube https://youtu.be/zU1Ut5i9zcI
