Have you ever been given a rule, something that you were told you have to make sure you DON’T DO?
naturally… of course, the natural human instinct is going to be to WANT TO DO THAT THING! And that leads some people to BREAKING THE RULE, and it leads others (people who are more like me probably) to figuring out a way that they can get as close to breaking it as they can without breaking it.
you know who I am talking about… the people who are the reason we have to make additional rules because they do things that we never even think of doing!
In this sermon, we explore a story about a time before the law was given. But even before there was a law, there was one specific command, and even that one thing proved to be impossible for the man who represented all of humanity.

Pastor Shane Willard lays out a few basic principles for us that will help us address peoples problems with the Bible. In an age where it is as simple as googling "contradictions in the Bible" - we have got to be prepared with better answers to our children's questions than just "I don't know." - The Bible is the inspired Word of God and is inerrant, as long as it is properly interpreted within the genre that it was written. When we speak of the Bible in static terms, we destroy it for the next generation.
We had amazing guest missionaries come and talk to us on Sunday, October 7th about the work being done in China. Do to the sensitivity, the sermon has not been made public.

The story of Micah, his mom, the weird god she had built for him, his weird wandering priest to that god, the Danites, and a place called Laish (a people quiet and unsuspecting, with no allies nearby).

How is it that some people can read a passage, and it be guilt and condemnation and tragedy… and someone else can read the same passage, and it be life, and love, and hope and grace?
