January 16-17, 2025 I’m sitting in the airport in Amsterdam as I write. It’s been a whirlwind of a day, and not quite finished yet! As I mentioned previously, Wednesday was the last day of the Symposium in Guntur. What I did not mention was how that was unexpected! We were under the impression that […]

January 15, 2025 Today was the final day of the Symposium. The morning began with Indian Matins and my final session. After lunch, we held an hour and a half of Q&A time. It was interesting to hear their questions—some related to the material we presented, some just about pastoral practice and other theological subjects. […]

January 14, 2025 Tuesday was another day of the Symposium. A few more attendees came today, which is great. I’m told the main reason they see an uptick in day two of the conference is because it’s “non-veg” day. Meat is served at lunch! But for whatever reason they came, they were fed! I don’t […]

January 13, 2025 The symposium in Guntur has begun. I don’t have an exact number, but looking into the crowd it seemed to be about 300 in attendance. Most are pastors and elders of area churches. Each day begins with an Indian form of Matins. And each day ends with a form of Indian Vespers. […]

January 10-11, 2025 Unfortunately, the conference in Bhutan was unable to take place for a number of reasons, but mainly due to suppression of Christianity. January 8, 2025 We spent the day at Bethel Church in the village of Dalsingpara Tea Garden. It is a small rural church, but all the people were eager to hear and learn. Attendees came from near and far. This conference was only one day, but the people were very grateful for us to help […]

January 7, 2025 The day got off to a shaky start, so to speak. Shortly after I got off the phone with Emma, the room began to wobble and I watched a clothes hanger shaking back and forth. An earthquake in Tibet had sent shockwaves our way. It didn’t impact things for us in India; […]

January 6, 2025 It’s a one picture day. This was the first of the four conferences (symposium). I can say that around 150 individuals gathered to hear two speakers today.
