Since 2019, I've been podcasting and trying to bring a little light, encouragement, and inspiration through the Gifts for Glory Podcast, where we celebrate and promote men and women using their gifts for God's glory.
All about #OGHG.
Well, with my bride and I transitioning into full time ministry as US Missionaries, time and, frankly, desire, have dwindled. Also, resources have dwindled and I need to make personal cuts (no sponsors yet, so all this gloriousness has been out of pocket!)
So, one more podcast. Going live Monday night, 6pm Central time.
Is this the end? Is this a hiatus? Will there be a rebirth? I'll let God decide that one!

Judd Saul is a family man, award-winning documentary filmmaker, including the 2021 film Enemies within the Church, which we highlighted that year with our guest Pastor Cary Gordon, link in the show notes, Judd is also an entrepreneur, and missionary who embarked on a call to action in Nigeria in 2011. He and his wife Sherry have 5 children, all of whom witnessed the vision unfold when Grandfather Duane Wessels invited Judd to join him on a mission trip. The trip changed Judd's life forever. He realized the stark reality, of the risk and sacrifice facing these people, and a burden was placed on his heart for the lost and persecuted Christians in Nigeria.

Although they had known each other through ministry venues for more than 20 years, it wasn't until April 2015 that God began to direct their paths together. Michael and Naomi (affectionately known as NOME) Rogers joined Well Versed Comedy in early spring 2022. Christi is an experienced writer, actor, and improv comedian, and joined Well Versed Comedy in fall of 2021. Christi is a fan of comedy and making things up while pretending to know a lot. She has been known to threaten family members into playing games during long holidays. She has studied drama and been involved with theatre since 1992. Christi worked for three years at the Christian Performing Artists’ Fellowship and was a student and intern for the Masterworks Festival theatre program. There she received training from acting coach John Kirby, actor Rich Swingle, actress Patricia Mauceri, director Susan Somerville Brown, and professional improviser Mark Oppenlander of Taproot Theatre Company, among others.
Christi is wife to Barry and mother to Haven and is grateful to them for allowing her the time to have play dates with her friends.

Mike Savage is a former radio personality, television news anchor, and criminal mastermind. He served fifteen years, two months, and twenty-eight days in federal prison for international money laundering. Crime was his second life, one that his wife and family knew nothing about until federal agents raided their home. He is currently an adjunct professor teaching Bible, theology, and psychology. He and his wife live on Padre Island in Texas.
Mike is the author of A Prisoner's Perspective: Redemption of a Criminal Mastermind, his memoir that won Best in Memoirs at Book Talk Radio Club 2018 Awards.

As we kick off the Hope Through Laughter Series, and we seek to start 2021 on a hopeful, joyous note, I could think of no one else that I would want to share with you than the incredible Bob Smiley. As we talk on this interview, this is a man with two testimonies, in all actuality. About seven or so years ago, Bob hit a really hard patch. But, God. We talk about his initial journey to his faith and then how his faith carried him through that devastating time, and eventually got stronger through it, and how God is now redeeming that lost time. As we recorded, Bob and his wife Sarah were celebrating their second anniversary…of course, not the day of recording…as a man who is also married, I know that would be a HUGE no-no. But, Bob Smiley is a phenomenal comedian, a man with a pure heart, and a joy for so many he’s entertained through stand up, through his work with Focus on the Family with the Average Boy podcast and Average Boy books, and now through his podcast with his wife Sarah, Hook, Line, and Smiley. Our guest this week is Sherry Seiler (pronounced Sy-ler) who is the lead singer for 7Fold, a Christian rock and blues band based in Florida. 7Fold started in 2009, took a hiatus and then came back together. Sherry Seiler is lead singer and song writer. Bill Carson is lead guitarist, background vocals, and co-writer. However, the global pandemic situation has put their comeback on a bit of a hold. Many of us have heard about the controversy with Netflix and with the movie Cuties. I wanted to give my take this week. I believe that the hashtag #CancelNetflix is really important right now, as we pair it with the heart behind #SaveOurChildren. But, it's not far enough. Parents and everyone attached to the film should face prosecution for sexual exploitation of a minor, endangerment, and the promotion and distribution of child pornography.
I also share some important Scripture related to this situation.
We must protect our kids. And not just those who are biologically ours, but those God is entrusting us to care for and disciple.

Steve Shermett is an actor, television host, producer and casting director. He started acting in high school before pursuing full time ministry. Recently, he returned to acting and landed a role in the smash hit series “The Chosen.” Steve is a world traveler and public speaker having visited such places as Turkey, India, Israel, England and Mexico. Steve has years of experience with firearms and is also a retired martial arts instructor and certified scuba diver and licensed motorcycle driver. Though not fluent Steve has familiarity with both the Spanish and Hebrew languages. Steve has been a minister for many years and is well known for his expertise in Biblical and Jewish studies.

Brooke Simkins is a former member of our comedy team now known as Well Versed Comedy, she’s an actress, a wife, a mommy to a cute as a button Yorkiepoo named Ella, and she currently works at Trinity Christian College as the Conference and Events Manager. And, starting next Wednesday, January 15, Brooke will be leading the Illinois Chapter of Moms in the Making Group. Moms in the Making is a faith-based fertility support group. In the time that Brooke has been a part of Moms in the Making, there has been a powerful change in her as she has been emboldened and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Tracy DeGraaf is a Christian, first and foremost, and next she is an author, comedian, and speaker. She got into comedy later than many, and in fact wasn’t a real goal of hers. A publishing coach helping with her incredible book Laugh Anyway Mom told her she should pursue comedy. So, Tracy has been working hard to build a comedy ministry, a speaking ministry, and maintain a busy home life that saw 5 boys grow up finding new and exciting ways to get taken to the ER. Tracy is hosting a show at the newly renovated Roxy Theater in Lockport, Ill. Life Happens, Laugh Anyway is this Friday, September 20, at 7:00pm.

Rob Decker, founder of Kingdom F.I.T. (Faith In Training) in Colorado Springs, Colorado, has an incredible testimony. His life is one that should have ended many times, but God. His mother was told to abort him, but God. He lived a fast life of drugs and alcohol, but God. He was falsely accused of rape and felt his only way out was suicide, but God. He got into an accident driving under the influence, but God.
But, God.

This week’s podcast is a replay of Dave’s message given at his former church. This message, entitled “Go and be Reconciled,” is about the importance and the imperative of all believers to work to be reconciled with their brethren. Dave gets personal and transparent with a recent story from his life, and uses that to fuel his message and admonition to be reconciled. Our primary passage is 2 Corinthians 5:18 NIV - All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.
Much of the teaching also comes from Matthew 5 and Matthew 18.
