Initially, a revival of NBC’s Dimension X (1950–51), the first 15 episodes of X Minus One, were new versions of Dimension X episodes. Still, the remainder were adaptations by NBC staff writers, including Ernest Kinoy and George Lefferts, of newly published science fiction stories by leading writers in the field, including Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Philip K. Dick, Robert A. Heinlein, Frederik Pohl, and Theodore Sturgeon, along with some original scripts by Kinoy and Lefferts.
Included in the series were adaptations of Robert Sheckley‘s “Skulking Permit,” Bradbury’s “Mars Is Heaven, “Heinlein’s “Universe” and “The Green Hills of Earth, “Pohl’s “The Tunnel Under the World, “J. T. McIntosh’s “Hallucination Orbit,” Fritz Leiber’s “A Pail of Air, “and George Lefferts’ “The Parade.”
The program opened with announcer Fred Collins delivering the countdown, leading into the following introduction (although later shows were partnered with Galaxy Science Fiction rather than Astounding Science Fiction).

Today's adventure is the first four episodes of The Adventures of Superman. Truly a character forever cemented in American culture for all time. In the early days of the hero's adventure, though, he had a serial that came to radio as a syndicated show on New York City's W O R on February 12, 1940.
On Mutual, it was broadcast from August 31, 1942, to February 4, 1949, as a 15-minute serial, running three or, usually, five times a week.
From February 7 to June 24, 1949, it ran as a thrice-weekly half-hour show. The series shifted to ABC Saturday evenings on October 29, 1949. They then returned to afternoons, twice-a-week on June 5, 1950, continuing on ABC until March 1, 1951. In all, 2,088 original episodes of The Adventures of Superman were aired on American radio.
For today, we have the first broadcast of The Baby from Krypton, Clark Kent Mild Mannered Reporter, Kenos Landslide, and Clark Kent Captured by the Wolf.

Clark Kent Mild Mannered Reported aired originally on February 14, 1940.
Keno's Landslide was first aired on February 16, 1940.
Clark Kent Captured by the Wolf aired first on February 19, 1940.
