In this episode we chat to close friend of ours, Brad. Brad is a talented filmmaker and music producer, currently in Botswana working for a company that shoots wildlife footage. We talk about high school, skateboarding, university, job hunting and the anxieties involved. We also talk about Brads relationship with music production and DJ-ing, as well as his current career status. Brad shares some of the lessons he's learned over the years and some philosophies he connects with. We had a great time recording this episode, we hope you enjoy it too.
In this episode we chat to Leah, Jake's former babysitter, who currently works for a global health organization in Sierra Leone. We talk about Leah's high school experience in Canada and what her plans were for after high school. Leah talks about some early work experience and her travels in Australia, before starting university in Montreal. We cover university, switching degrees and Leah's experiences working in Zambia throughout her time in university. We cover some more of Leah's backpacking ventures, before getting into her masters which she did in Rwanda. Leah goes into how her current employment in West Africa came about, what that's like, and her plans for the future.
In this episode we chat to Kelsey, a friend of ours and ex-roommate of Jake. We talk about Kelsey's high functioning personality during high school, and some early work experience. We also discuss the change Kelsey underwent after high school and in University, and her adversities during this time. Kelsey explains her relationship with mental health and the importance of prioritizing this. Today's guest is Richard Stirton, a singer and songwriter for Cape Town, and winner of season 1 of The Voice South Africa. We chat about Richards high school years, when and how singing became an outlet for him, and evolved into a career. We go over his time at university and work experience in these post-high school years, as well as his experience on The Voice. In this episode we speak to Nick Morrow, who is currently studying in Canada to become a lawyer. Nick is a highly driven person, taking on multiple responsibilities simultaneously, including sports, hobbies and multiple jobs. We unpack each of these and find that that he has been a high functioning person from high school age. We learn about Nicks stand up comedy career, where that came about and how it has helped him in various fields. Georgia has always had the desire to work with animals, since a young age, and in this episode we hear Georgia's journey to becoming a qualified veterinarian, from high school in Canada, moving to the UK to study in Edinburgh, and travelling do different places for various training programs.
