n Part 4 of Join the Rebellion, Pastor Max explores how resisting darkness means rejecting the culture of comparison and insecurity. This message reminds us that the Holy Spirit is restoring God’s image in us—not through performance or recognition, but through shared life, hidden faithfulness, and the deep assurance that we are already loved by the Father. True rebellion begins when we stop striving to be seen and learn to live with God, right where we are.
In Part 2 of Join the Rebellion, Pastor Max explores how real resistance to darkness happens through inner transformation, not striving or comparison. Looking at the early church and the life of Peter, this message reminds us that the Holy Spirit is patiently restoring God’s image in us—and that growth often includes failure, correction, and grace along the way.
Pastor Max starts a new series called “Join the Rebellion,” inviting us to take part in God’s revolution against the kingdom of darkness. Drawing from Scripture and the story of the early church, this message shows how Christian virtues like patience, love, and generosity became powerful acts of resistance—and how we’re called to live that same countercultural life today. Pastor Max teaches on the incredible love and grace of God. He shares how Jesus redefined what it means to be King. The true King is humble and self-sacrificing, putting others first. He is a King unafraid to be connected with His people’s failures and suffering. Rather than being “above” the suffering and failure, He identifies with it. Jesus is not just the King of the “great people.” He is the King of failures, losers, rejects, and outcasts. He is Lord of our brokenness, uniting Himself to our sin so as to transform it by His grace. Pastor Max completes his series, "The Faith Gym." Many first century Jews conceived of time as having two ages: the present evil age, and the future Kingdom of God age. Jesus came and inaugurated the Kingdom age, but it did not immediately remove the present evil age. Heaven is here, as miracles demonstrate, but it is not all the way here, and there are many forces resisting it. These two ages or Kingdoms are at war with each other. This is often called the “Now/Not Yet” dichotomy of the Kingdom. In this teaching, Pastor Max address the question, "How do we live successfully, given this difficult dynamic?" Pastor Max teaches on one of Paul's hardest seasons of life, lessons he learned from it, and why it's so important.
Pastor Max continues his series, "The Faith Gym." In this lesson, he teaches on spiritual flexibility. Jesus prayed for us that we would experience intimacy with God (John 17:21). One way to understand intimacy is openness. Intimacy also requires adaptability as the relational dynamics change over time. God loves to do a “new thing.” This may be likened to “spiritual flexibility.” Being open to God requires us to be willing to be “stretched.” To download the notes for this teaching, click here: https://chariskingdomchurch.com/files/the-faith-gym-5/

Pastor Max continues his practical ministry training by teaching on Words of Knowledge.
Pastor Max shares a short history of christian theodicies, how we got where we are today, and how the church has dealt with the issue historically.
In the wake of the events in Israel, it is important to face the issue of despair. Despair is a lie. Anytime we look at the world without hope, we are under the influence of a lie because Jesus has already raised from the dead. We always have hope because of Jesus.
Pastor Max continues his Wednesday evening series on Ministry Training, focusing on practical ways we can listen to and hear God every day.
Pastor Max teaches on the powerful, unconditional love of God that is revealed to us through the Holy Spirit.
Pastor Max continues his teaching series on warfare theodicy. In this lesson, he teaches on redefining what real power looks like. The message of the cross is: “Power looks like opening yourself up to others in love, which entails the possibility of them hurting you. Power means risking your heart, controlling yourself, not those around you.”
Pastor Max continues his teaching series on warfare theodicy. In this lesson, he explains how the war is fought and won by Jesus. The cross makes a public spectacle of the ugliness and foolishness of the demonic powers and the people that believe them. Simultaneously, the cross reveals the astonishing mercy, kindness, and love of God, who would rather be murdered by His creation to save it than destroy it to save Himself.
Christians are empowered to walk into the newness of the life, being dead and crucified with Christ & born anew to a life free from sin and death.
God talks to us in a variety of ways, but the final standard is His Word. We hear Him in His Word first of all by applying it to our lives. Learning to apply it in a New Testament context is important if we want to hear Him clearly.
Legalism keeps us from hearing God clearly and leads us to misunderstand and misapply scriptures. This teaching explains how that happens, giving examples, and shows how to fix it.
We often misunderstand God by viewing Him through the lens of the Mosaic Law. The Law veiled God, and only in Christ is the Law/veil removed, and as a result we see and hear God clearly.
We want to see as much of God flow out of us as possible. This manifests as character and power, through the fruit and gifts of the Spirit. As we seek for this, we have to hold two truths in tension: there is nothing we can do to earn more of God in our lives, but we do have use our faith to receive what He’s already paid for.
Speaking in Tongues is a common manifestation of the Spirit. Enjoy this refreshing take on it and learn how and why every believe can and should practice it.
The Holy Spirit lives inside of every believer all the time, but He wants to come out, or manifest himself. Learn what that means and how to do it.
The Holy Spirit operates differently in the New Testament than in the Old Testament. He's not flighty like a bird and doesn't abandon us if we make a mistake.
The Holy Spirit is your best friend. He's not following you around pointing out everything you've done wrong. He's actively seeking to affirm who you are in Christ.
Did you know that the end of division and bigotry(whether by race, class, or gender) was purchased on the cross in the same way that sin was forgiven? This is a challenging and timely message.
All of your sins, past, present, and future were dealt with and forgiven at the cross! You no longer have to live conscious of you sin. God's not bringing it up, and you shouldn't either.
In Christ, you are a new creation. Your sin nature is dead and buried and you no longer have to identify yourself after you failures.
No matter what you've done, or what you haven't done, the truth is God is madly in love with you and has never been mad at you a day in your life! Let me prove it to you.
There is a difference between punishment and the natural consequences of sin. Because of what Jesus did on the cross, there is no more punishment for sin. That doesn't mean that there aren't consequences, but it means God's not bringing them into your life. It means He's the source of everything good in your life, not all the evil.
The Gospel is the incredibly good news that our right standing with God isn't based on our performance but rather our faith in what Jesus did for us.
