Welcome my best friend, Rachel, to Say Yes To You. We talk about how we met, where we met, where are are now, and end the episode with "Rachel Quotes" ... a note on my iPhone of quotes that Rachel has said that only her and I know the explanations to... but we are sharing some of them with you, too. If you want to get to know the current me and my bestie better, this is the episode for you!
WE’RE BAAACCKKK — with a solo episode, talking about a few different things. First, where the hell have I been and what the fuck has happened since I last recorded in 2021. Next… we’re talking about enjoying your SOLO TIME. That is, taking yourself out on dates, trips, etc. and just making time to enjoy your own company. This includes a few stories of how I have done that myself over the past few years… most recently, with some details about my solo beach trip to the Jersey Shore. And lastly, where I am at in my life now and the direction I plan on taking with the future of this podcast. THANKS FOR LISTENING! If you wanna let me know what you think... @justangmarie on Insta. Byeeeee for now.
Hello again! Wow - long time no see, or… long time no talk, to say the least! I can’t believe it has been a wild seven months since I have sat down to record a podcast episode. For those of you that have followed me on since the beginning, you'd know that I used to post a lot of open, honest and authentic content on my Instagram. Lengthy captions, cluing everyone in to what was going on in my life basically day to day, if not week to week or month to month. It's no secret that that has obviously changed over the past year or so. I've gotten a lot more private. And if you listen to today's episode fully, from start to finish, you'll understand why. I haven't put out a podcast episode since June, but something in my gut was telling me to open up my laptop, thought dump, and put out one last episode before the end of 2021. In today's episode, I talk about where I have been and what I have been up to since June of 2021. I dive into some great things, like my job and my summer, and some harder things, like my break up. Then, I get as authentic and vulnerable as I feel like I could possibly be on my podcast, opening up about three obstacles I faced in 2021. Three things that I literally never talk about or open up about to... anyone. But you'll get to hear about them, if you're willing to listen in. The episode ends on a sweeter note, talking about the three things I'm most excited for in 2022. If you listen in fully, from beginning to end, don't be shy to send me a message and let me know what you think! Thank you for following me and supporting me. I appreciate you, and I hope you're as ready for 2022 as I am.
In today's episode we are talking all about the quote, "Eliminate what doesn't help you evolve." I asked you guys on Instagram what the quote means to you and how it hits home with you personally - and I share ALL of your responses and stories in today's episode! Which person's story can you relate to the most? I end with briefly talking about one thing that I have eliminated from my own life over the past month to help me evolve. Share a screenshot of today's episode on your Instagram story and tag me @justangmarie!
You know I'm BACK, like I never left. That's right, Say Yes To You is BACK, baby! After taking a whopping 11 weeks off... I am finally here to bring you another Friday episode of my podcast, Say Yes To You. In this episode, I touch base on why I took 11 weeks off from recording my podcast, and also why I have been more silent on social media. In addition to that, I talk a WHOLE lot about why it is MORE than okay for YOU to grow, change, evolve and work on YOURSELF in silence, in private, however you want to put it... without posting about ANY of it on social media, all day every day. It might feel weird to do so in a world where your "phone eats first," but choosing to grow in silence does not make you "less than" the people who choose to publicly and frequently post about their growth all day every day on social media.
Hey guys! Happy Friday! In today's episode of the podcast, I am talking (raw, real, unfiltered & unedited) about how self care isn't always EASY! I would, first off, like to apologize if I ever made it seem like self care was "easy" in any previous episodes that I have released over the past year. I have been coming from a biased place, of a woman who has not been working or has been working part-time. Self care has always come "easy" or "easier" to me, as someone who has always had heaps of time in the morning, afternoon and evening to take care of herself. Before I started working my new full time job, I got into the habit of exercising, meditating, gratitude journaling and reading every single day. While all of those things are amazing, now that I am working a full time job, I am beginning to understand that I no longer NATURALLY have the time to do all of those things every single day. Self care is no longer something I view as "easy." Now, I am beginning to view self care as something that you have to MAKE the time for. Self care is all about taking care of yourself, and filling up your own cup before you show up for others, so that you can pour INTO others. I am having a change of heart and beginning to understand that this is something that is not "easy" for many of us who are working eight plus hour days Monday through Friday! In this episode, I also talk about how we should give ourselves GRACE if we put off something as "simple" as putting away your clean laundry for days/weeks at a time. If you're "putting off" a task like hanging up and/or putting away your clean clothes, think about where ELSE your energy is going during the day! You're probably not being "lazy." In reality, you're probably CRUSHING IT in so many other areas of your life, that just happen to not be putting away your clean laundry. This episode kind of goes hand in hand with another one of my more recent episodes about surviving vs. thriving through life transitions, so make sure you listen to that episode too, if you haven't yet! And, with all of that being said... I hope you enjoy today's episode!
In today's episode, I am sitting down and talking with Rosie Battimelli, a holistic wellbeing practitioner and transformational coach, currently based in London. Rosie currently focuses on 1:1 mentoring, movement, breath work, and, you guessed it... meditation! Rosie believes that stillness and rest are an integral part of our being that most of us have forgotten how to do. She says, "We've embodied a 'doing' culture where we are constantly looking towards the next thing, forgetting that our life is right here in this moment. We've created anxiety, fear and guilt around resting and nurturing our higher self. To come back home to yourself, we focus our attention on the breath, bringing our awareness to the present moment, watching the narrative of the mind from a witnessing perspective." And honestly, I'm just going to leave it at that! If you're interested in learning more about meditation, breath work, movement and finding more peace in your everyday life... then this conversation with Rosie is definitely for you. What is meditation? Does meditation pair well with other practices, like yoga or gratitude journaling? Is there a specific time of the day that you should meditate? We answer all of those questions, and talk about SO much more. You can find Rosie on Instagram @rosiebattimelli and her website is https://www.rosiebattimelli.com/ !
I only have one thing to say to you about this week's episode. It's OKAY to SURVIVE and not THRIVE through life changes and transitions. If you are going to take away ONE THING from this week's episode, try writing down three things that you can focus on in your seasons of survival, before you start thinking about thriving. Message me on Instagram if you would like to chat about surviving vs. thriving!! I would love to hear from you!

With a taste of your lips, I'm on a riidddeee. You're toxic, I'm slippin' under! Oh wait - no. That's not the kind of toxic we're talking about today. My bad. In today's episode, we're talking about all things TOXIC ENERGY and how to rid your LIFE from it. First, I dive into three things that I have personally found toxic in my own life. This includes gossiping, friendships that are only maintained as long as one person is personally benefiting from the friendship, and relationships that fail to be maintained if you do not have a certain social media platform - like Snapchat. Then, I dive into three ways to remove toxic energy from your life! This includes muting/blocking/unfollowing people on social media (which I verbally grant you FULL PERMISSION TO DO if you're feeling guilty about it), reevaluating who you are surrounding yourself with (and if they are contributing to your personal growth or self destruction), and finally... channeling more GRATITUDE in your life. I hope you enjoy today's episode! PLEASE don't forget to post a screenshot on your Instagram story and tag me @justangmarie if you enjoy it!

In today's episode I chat it up with my newfound friend, Alyssa Buoncristiano. You can find Alyssa on Instagram @alyssabuon - go follow her! Alyssa is all about inspiring woman to lean into self love by owning who they are. On her social media platforms, she hopes to connect with individuals and teach them how to look, feel and live GOOD. In my convo with Alyssa we talk all about anxiety, mental health, self acceptance and authenticity. We start off with talking all about Alyssa's journey with anxiety and what makes her the anxiety warrior that she is today. This includes when she first noticed signs of anxiety in her life, and also explaining what anxiety physically feels like to her and how it manifests in her body. I ask Alyssa if there was ever a time in her own life where she felt like trying to please other people and live up to other people's expectations of her was a source of her own anxiety - and she gets down to the nitty gritty with that. We talk about the top three tools in her tool box that she uses to cope with, or better manage her anxiety, in her day to day life. We dive into Alyssa's thoughts about taking medication and/or supplements for anxiety or for one's mental health. And lastly - we end with what the phrases "self acceptance" and "say yes to you" mean to Alyssa. Don't forget to screenshot and share on your IG story and tag me @justangmarie and Alyssa @alyssabuon! We would LOVE to hear from you!!!

In today's episode, I am talking with my friend Madeline Allard. Madeline is an actor and dancer is Buffalo, a world traveler and a yoga enthusiast. Madeline and I met through Instagram and she messaged me a few weeks ago saying she had an idea for a podcast episode, and I was super excited to hear that! Madeline had Covid herself not too long ago - so she has firsthand experience of dealing with the virus. And she mentioned to me how, while credible sources have been doing a good job at telling people how to prevent and treat the physical symptoms of COVID... she thinks that there has not been not enough talk about how to deal with the emotional baggage that comes with having COVID. Like many, Madeline was forced to stay at home because of having COVID. She said she felt like a prisoner and a danger to society - which is one thing that took a toll on her own mental and emotional health. Madeline said, "Being alone is alright with me - but it's different when you are forced to be alone. I felt like I needed an electric bracelet on my ankle. I was ashamed. I was afraid. I was angry. I was living in my head, and terrified that I was turning into a bad person." Madeline wanted to speak out in today's episode to let people who are listening and have either had COVID, or know someone who has had or currently has COVID - that you are NOT alone. Madeline is here to spread the message of treating others with compassion. In her words, "Nobody asked for this virus, these pandemics, these epidemics to happen. But, they did. So during this time, let's try to remove the stigma of having COVID."
On today's episode I am sitting down and chatting with an amazing women I met through Instagram. Her name is Dana Sedlak and you can find her on Instagram @watchherbloom.coaching! Dana is a licensed psychotherapist and self love coach who inspires women to choose themselves. She is currently a full time therapist for those with eating disorders and has recently branched out and is beginning to start her own coaching business to focus more on overall healing - without some of the clinical jargon that can sometimes prevent those from seeking therapy. Dana's goal is to create a space and community where people can work on their journey of healing their relationship with themselves in whatever way it feels limiting in order to help bridge the gap. In today's episode we talk all about self love, self awareness, healing and becoming the best version of yourself. When I asked Dana what the phrase "Say Yes To You" meant to her, she said, "It means choosing yourself, not just when it's easy. It means learning how to quiet the noise around you (which is often society and the voices of others) in order to be still enough to connect back to your truth and to TRUST that you truly know what it is you need and what is right for you at all times, if you slow down and go within." I hope you enjoy today's episode! And as always, feel free to connect with myself @justangmarie and Dana @watchherbloom.coaching on Instagram to talk about today's episode. We'd love to hear from you!!!
In today's episode I am chatting it up with Jenna Stern @jenna_stern_, a certified trainer and nutrition coach in Philadelphia, PA. Jenna helps women ditch toxic diets so they can honor their bodies through fitness and food. She believes in health and EVERY size, and that ALL foods fit! We dive into what it's like to try toxic diets from Weight Watchers, to Atkins and Shakeology. Jenna talks about her history with strictly meal prepping, over exercising and binging, and how she got to be where she is today. We talk ALL about social media, and how who you follow and what you consume has such a HUGE impact on diet culture and your mindset around health and fitness, especially in the New Year. Then Jenna closes with talking about some exciting things she has in store for her business in 2021! There is SO much more included in this episode than what I could fit into this description, so make sure you listen all the way through! Message Jenna @jenna_stern_ or myself @justangmarie for any questions or comments about today's episode - we'd love to hear from you!!!
In today's episode we are talking ALL about dreaming and goal setting for 2021! If you want to set goals and dream BIG for 2021 but don't know where to start, this episode is for YOU! I kick off the episode by talking all about the NUMBER ONE tool that I use for goal setting, dreaming and manifestation every single day - which is Rachel Hollis' Start Today Journal. Then, I dive into the difference between a "dream" and a "goal," and how that can have a HUGE impact on your mindset for this year. I finish with talking about my own personal goals and dreams for 2021, and how they have changed since I first started journaling back in 2019! PLEASE TAKE A SCREENSHOT OF THIS EPISODE and share it on your Instagram story so I can connect with you and thank you for listening in! Send me a DM if you would like to be a guest on my podcast this year, of if you want to talk more about dreaming, goal setting and the Start Today Journal!

Hey guys!! Welcome back to another episode of the Say Yes To You Podcast. I am still your host - despite taking two weeks off. And that is what I wanted to talk about today. First - why I took two weeks off from my podcast, as well as posting on my Instagram. And second - why it is completely okay and normal for you to do the same thing. To take a break from showing up, if and when that is what your mental health is calling out for you to do. The two main things that have kept me from showing up on social media, for my podcast, and to some extent... for myself and for my life are unfortunately, fear of judgement from others, and seasonal affective disorder. I am not going to get into the nitty gritty on here. So listen in if you want to hear more! As for Instagram... I will be continuing to take a break from @justangmarie and I will be posting on my new, personal page @xoangmarie to maintain my online presence, but give my brain a break from putting so much time and energy into social media for a bit. As for my podcast... I will most likely be putting out an episode every OTHER Friday, for the time being. Through these changes, I hope I can be a source of light, inspiration, and comfort to you - reminding you that it's okay to step back from social media, or whatever it may be, to take some more time to yourself to love yourself, care for yourself, and conserve your energy. Especially during these seasonal changes, political changes, and as Covid continues. Times are tough, and we are all doing the best that we can!!!
In today's SHORT and sweet episode we are talking about the changing of the seasons, and how there is so much more to life than what you are seeing on your social media right now. Take the time to do the seasonal stuff, but also don't forget to MAKE the time to do the less glamorous, less posted about and talked about, self love and self care stuff, too! The most important relationship you have is with yourself. Treat yourself with love and kindness.
This episode of the Say Yes to You podcast is ALL about self love and self care, baby! In dictionary terms, self love can be defined as "regard for one's own well-being and happiness." And I completely agree with that! But for me... self love is more-so about how you TAKE regard for your own well-being and happiness. To me... self love is about filling up your cup, and taking care of your own self, before even ATTEMPTING to show up for and take care of other people. Rachel Hollis has a great analogy about this in her book Girl Stop Apologizing. And that is, “Imagine that you are a glass vase and you’re standing up tall, and someone is pouring water into you. That water is everything you could possibly need to survive. So you, as a glass vase, are filled with life and energy and nutrients and love and joy-all the good things. But we women often don’t think about ourselves as much as we worry about everyone else, so we try to lean over. We tip our vases forward and backward and side to side so that the good things we’re receiving will spill out to those around us. We give some to our children, or our coworkers, or our parents, or our friends. We keep tipping ourselves over. We tip it a little bit here, we spill a little bit there, and eventually… the vase falls over and breaks into a thousand pieces. We spend so much effort trying to take care of others that we destroy ourselves in the process. But here’s the incredible thing. If you’re a vase and you just stand up tall and proud on a firm foundation, if you just take in all the things that are being poured into you, what will eventually happen to the water in the vase? It will overflow and spill out to everyone around you." So that's exactly what "self love" means to me. It means loving yourself, and having such a strong regard and such a firm foundation for your own well-being and happiness... that you shamelessly and unapologetically show up for yourself and take such good care of yourself... that you are able to overflow and spill out into everyone around you. I believe self love is all about pouring life, energy, nutrients, love, joy, etc. into other people, after you've already showed up for yourself - instead of tipping your vase forward and backward and side to side until the vase falls over and breaks. Because none of us want to fall over and break into a thousand pieces, right? In today's episode I give you five things that I do to show myself love and to take care of myself, hoping that you will be inspired to take some ACTION when it comes to self love and self care!!
In today's episode we are going to be talking about the idea of spreading less judgement and more love, compassion and kindness. Today's episode was inspired by my new favorite author, Gabby Bernstein, and her book The Universe Has Your Back. In this book, Gabby talks about how what you judge in others is what you judge in yourself. This goes along with one of my all time favorite quotes which is, "People will judge. Let them. Judgment is but a mirror reflecting the insecurities of the person who's doing the judging."
We use judgement to avoid the feeling of our own inadequacy, insecurities, and lack of self worth. Instead of addressing those feelings, we look at the perceived shortcomings of others so we don't have to face our own pain. This only gives us temporary relief, though. Our own feelings of inadequacy don't go away, and we're also left feeling unconsciously guilty for judging others. Every time you judge someone else, you might notice that you most likely feel sad, disconnected, low energy, physically or mentally weak... and just all in all, it doesn't make you feel good!!!
Our ego also cannot survive without judgement... because the ego seeks to divide and separate us. Judgement is what keeps us in the illusion that we are separate from one another. Without judgement... we would see one another as equal. We'd have no feelings of better than, or less than. We would be one. And when we're in tune with the feeling of oneness... we are set free. Oneness helps us see one another as equal. It gets rid of those feelings of better than, or less than, judgement and separation.
I just feel like we're all going through a lot right now with the CoronaVirus, politics, living situations, finances, unemployment, relationships, whatever it may be. And I know some days, whatever you're going through may seem so heavy that it feels like you're the only one going through what you're going through.
But I think it's just so damn important, especially right now, to remember to be kind, because we're all going through SOMETHING. Everyone is fighting some kind of a hard battle right now, that we may know or know nothing about. So when you have the choice to choose judgement or to choose kindness... I really hope you can begin to choose kindness.
And I'm going to be completely real with you guys. I don't want to act like I'm the queen of kindness over here. Because I'm trying so hard to do better, but I haven't always been kind and non-judgmental.
And I truly think this had a lot to do with the people I was surrounding myself with in the past. Because you can't "change" the people around you, but you "can change" the people around you - meaning, who you choose to surround yourself with.
In this episode I talk about how it's important to surround yourself with people who will encourage you to be more kind and compassionate, and less (or not at all) judgmental of others. In other words... people who don't spend a lot of (if ANY) time talking shit about other people behind their backs.
And I ALSO encourage you to reevaluate who you are following, and allowing to follow YOU, on social media... and to mute, block or unfollow anyone who you feel like may be constantly judging YOU, or influencing you to be more judgmental and less kind, compassionate and loving towards YOURSELF and others.
On today's episode of the Say Yes To You Podcast, we are talking about finding comfort within discomfort. In this episode, I reference my current favorite author, Gabrielle Bernstein, and a blog post of her's, called, "You're Right Where You Need To Be." This blog post gives three tips that I relate back to how I am currently finding comfort within the discomfort that is 2020. They are, taking the focus off of yourself, remembering you're exactly where you need to be and to stop thinking and start connecting to the Universe. I talk about the discomfort of moving out of Philly and living at home with my parents again at 23 years old, being open about working a new part time job as a Hooters girl, and going from having a LOT of girlfriends to having a very small, intimate circle of people in my life. I relate all of this back to Gabrielle Bernstein's blog post and talk about how I am finding comfort in my current uncomfortable life situations. I hope you enjoy this episode and learn how to adjust to the "new normal" that is 2020, and find comfort in your own discomfort!
SELF DISCOVERY is a never ending journey of determining how you feel, personally, about spiritual issues or priorities, rather than just going along with the opinions of family, friends, a significant other, or peer pressure. And that is what Christine is all about!
Christine has been on a journey of self discovery since she was a young girl - never being one to fit in with a clique or go along with the crowd. Today, Christine is a single mother, a mindset and mobility coach, and the owner, founder and lead teacher of Casa Bandha Yoga.
Casa Bandha is an at-home, donation based yoga and meditation studio located in Philadelphia. Christine opened Casa Bandha with the vision of providing a safe and accessible space for the transformative journey to self-awareness and discovery. Today, Casa Bandha offers yoga, meditation, massage, and energy readings and reflections through tarot and oracle cards.
Saying yes to you is basically how Christine has always lived her life. She has always prioritized SELFLESSLY saying yes to herself and her own inner voice over anyone else's. She has sacrificed careers, relationships and society's idea of the norm, which has led her down some winding roads... but she notes how she has always been in the direction that she was supposed to be headed.
In today's episode I ask Christine about Casa Bandha and how she got to where she is today, yoga and meditation and how to start incorperating both into your life, how to listen to your own inner voice, how to feel confident in your decisions even when your family/friends/etc don't agree with you, sacrificing jobs and relationships for your own inner peace, and so much MORE!
If you would like to connect with Christine on Instagram, you can find her @_boschbaby and @casabandhayoga!
Hey guys! In today's episode of the Say Yes To You podcast, I get to sit down with Sydni Arnett, a Philadelphia Fitness Trainer, and Marina Geahart, a Mental Health Counseling grad student. Two women that are all about moving for wellness, strength, mindfulness and body confidence. In this episode we talk all about alternative language to use in fitness classes that encourage body confidence and steer away from body shaming. Sydni and Marina first introduce themselves and talk a little bit about who they are, what they do for work, and how they got into the career paths that they are both pursuing. We talk about how quarantine has shaken up each of their lives and what the fitness scene looks like right now for a personal trainer. Then we dive into the juicy stuff - which is... alternative language to use in fitness classes that encourage body confidence and steer away from body shaming. We talk all about that and social media useage, how trainers can be more cognizant of the mental health and body confidence of their clients, and what a client should do if they feel like their trainer or fitness instructor isn't encouraging body confidence right now. I promise, this is just scratching the surface of what this episode has in store! I hope you like it!
DISCLAIMER: THIS EPISODE IS UNEDITED AND UNSCRIPTED. AKA... authentic af. Okay. SO. Is it just me, or do you feel like there's a stigma around grieving? Like if you aren't grieving the loss of a loved one, you "shouldn't" be grieving at all. In today's episode, I talk about how we are probably all grieving the loss of a lot of SMALLER things right now. And how we are all more than deserving of grieving and not being "okay" right now - and always. I talk about things that I am grieving right now, and how it is okay to be grieving things that aren't the "worst of the worst." I read an article from NAMI about grief and talk about how it can be hard to try to make sense out of things that are hard to wrap your brains around... how the only way to get out of pain is to go through it... how grief is a necessary and healthy process... and how each of us grieves differently and there is no one way to do it. Do NOT let anyone tell you that you’re not doing it “correctly," stay away from those who judge you, and accept the support of those who care. Good things can manifest after devastating losses. You might not believe it now, but one day your joy will return. It may take a long time but it will happen. I end by talking about eight realistic ways to help walk through a season of grieving. I hope you enjoy today's episode! Message me on IG @justangmarie to talk all about it.
Hey what's up hello! Happy Friday friends! Today I have a very special guest on the Say Yes To You Podcast... it's MY MOM! My mom took a week off from work, and what better way to spend our Thursday morning than having her on my podcast?! We already went shopping and got our nails done hehe. My mom and I love to have coffee chats where we sit outside on our deck and talk about life, and this topic naturally came up in our conversation over the past few weeks. In this episode we talk all about how to move on from a friendship, and friendship red flags! Disclaimer: This episode is UNSCRIPTED and my mom and I give our own genuine, authentic and honest opinions! Moving on from any friendship is NOT easy, so I apologize, I am not giving you any kind of recipe or answers that could make this situation "easier" for you. BUT - I do give you my advice, tips and tricks on how to remember to put yourself first and do what's best for you! I hope you enjoy this episode! DM me on Instagram @justangmarie if you want to chat about it!
Authentic is defined as, "not false or copied; genuine; real," or, "representing one's true nature or beliefs; true to oneself or to the person identified." An authentic person puts the people around them at ease, like a comforting, old friend who welcomes us in and makes us feel at home. Authenticity is everything my friend Britt embodies. Britt is all about saying yes to all things real. In this episode Britt talks about her eating disorder recovery, finding food freedom, embracing self love and the idea of body neutrality. Britt is on a journey of intuitive eating and fueling her body with more whole foods, intuitive exercise through running and moving her body out of self love, and being more open and honest about her mental health and struggles. Britt is all about helping people and would love to be a source of help and a support system for YOU! You can find her on Instagram @reallifewithbritt. This episode is amazing and I had so much fun recording it! I hope you enjoy it :)
Hey lovelies! Happy, happy Friday! We're back with another episode of the Say Yes To You podcast and I am interviewing my friend Martha today, @embraceyourbodynow on Instagram! Martha is all about body acceptance and helping women ditch diet culture and love the skin they're in. In this episode I asked Martha to speak to two women: The woman who is stuck in a cycle of restricting and feeling guilty around food, and the woman who knows exercise is healthy but doesn’t have the healthiest relationship with it. We dive deep into those topics, as well as the idea of diet culture, what it means to "embrace your body," how to stop looking at food as "good" or "bad," having a HEALTHY relationship with exercise, and MORE! I'm seriously just scratching the surface! This episode is SUPER juicy and I can't wait to hear what you guys think of it! DM me on Instagram @justangmarie and Martha @embraceyourbodynow to talk about today's episode and connect!! Xoxo
Hey guys and gals! What's up! Happy Friday! Today's episode is super laid back and tangent-y. I went into today's episode first, not knowing what the heck I was going to talk about. Then - having someone from IG suggest talking about "Saying yes through the journey," and rolled with that! I talk about the quote, "You can be both a masterpiece and a work in progress simultaneously" and saying yes to self love, no matter what journey of life you're going through right now. In my "health and fitness" journey from 2013-2020, I was all about taking before and after photos and going through 12 month transformations where I was always waiting to become a "masterpiece" and never enjoying my true "journey" or being a "work in progress." Now, I eat and exercise intuitively. But that doesn't mean it's "easy" for me to choose between oatmeal or a bagel for breakfast. I still have intrusive thoughts about my old "health and fitness" ways, and I talk openly about those thoughts and how I have to fight them off to stay present and keep moving forward. I talk about friendships and how it can be hard to go through friend "break-ups." I talk about allowing yourself to take mental health days and days off and not call them "lazy" days. And basically just how you have to love yourself and know that you'll always be a beautiful, wonderful work in progress and masterpiece, at the same time. I hope you enjoy today's episode and some part of it resonates with you!!! DM me on IG if you wanna chat about it :) @justangmarie
Say yes to... saying no?! YUP! You heard me! You read it right! Today's episode is all about how, when you say yes to something else, you can be saying "no" to your own mental health and self care. OR, when you say yes to you, you have to say no to something else, and learn to do that without feeling guilty! I have a very special guest with me today, Dhruvi Shah! Dhruvi is a Jefferson MPH Student, a Public Health Advocate and a Clean Beauty Advocate and Mentor. She's got it ALL going on, and in order to say YES to a life filled with passion and happiness, she's had to navigate through a path with saying NO to a lot of things! I also talk about how I say yes to "everything" in college, and that lead me to feel like I was always being pulled in two different directions and also say NO to myself and my own mental health and self care. We've got LOTS of good stuff in store on this episode today! Follow me on IG @justangmarie and follow Dhruvi @dhruvii_s to chat with us about today's episode! Thanks so much for listening in!

DM me on Insta @justangmarie if you want to talk about today's episode, therapy, mental health, your plans for this weekend... lol anything! Love you guys thanks for listening in :)

Kylie is a NASM certified personal trainer, entrepreneur, and online fitness coach - who helps women lose weight without sacrificing their social life. She is THE go-to girl for personal training and online coaching with a SUPER realistic, balanced approach to nutrition and weight loss! On the surface, it might seem like that is all there is to Kylie. And this can go for many online personal trainers and online coaches! However, in this episode, I help you remember to BE KIND - because everyone is fighting battles and has stories underneath their online IG presence that you know NOTHING about! Kylie and I talk about so many inspiring and empowering things from her upbringing, to limiting beliefs, to the difference between being an independent online fitness coach and a coach through an MLM like Beachbody or Arbonne. On today's episode of the Say Yes To You Podcast I am sitting down and taking with Alison Jury, a beautiful soul from my hometown, a certified personal trainer, and a former physique competitor. Alison has taken MANY risks in her life - and it all started with living in her beach house and working at a surf shop in search of her own John B for an entire summer. LOL - but seriously. Alison prepped and competed in MULTIPLE physique competitions WHILE still being a college student and finishing her degree. She ended up ditching the idea of settling into a comfortable job with her accounting degree to follow her passion of fitness and getting her personal training cert. She moved to Texas with her now, best friend, who she met through competing. And now - she lives in Texas is taking the biggest risk of them all... adapting to a body positive, mentally healthy lifestyle AFTER competing. Spoiler alert... she didn't find her John B. that summer, so she's still single boys!!! We talk about what her life and mindset were like while she was competing, what that's all like now, how she met her roomate and moved from PA to Texas, relationships, and so much more. This was a super fun episode to film and I hope you like it!!! Thank you so much for listening and stopping by! You can find ALISON on Instagram @alisonjuryfit & myself @justangmarie. Please screenshot this episode and post it to your IG story if you listened! Send me a DM if you want to connect! And check out my photography website https://angmariemedia.wordpress.com/sayyestoyou/ for some notes from previous episodes. Xoxo.
Heyyy guys happy Monday! If you're starting your week with me AFTER you ended you week with me... that's pretty awesome. Welcome back to the Say Yes To You Podcast. Today I recorded a special BONUS episode for you!!! Coming to you on Monday AND Friday this week! (And it is UNSCRIPTED I SWEAR!) Today I am talking about ALL things Bipolar Type II which is my recent mental health diagnosis. I cover WHAT Bipolar Disorder is, type I and type II, using the National Institute of Mental Health. I talk about what my own experience of being diagnosed was like with help from my Primary Care Physician, my therapist and a licensed Psychiatrist. And I interview myself basically, answering a few questions about what it is like to live with Bipolar Type II. As someone who only thought she lived with "just" anxiety or "just" depression for a while, it was scary!!! But doing things like recording this podcast and talking about it with all of YOU honestly makes me feel better. PLEASE listen until the end because there are important things at the end that I really want everyone to hear! If you want to chat about mental health my email angmariemiller@gmail.com & my DMs on Insta are OPEN! I am here for you! I love you! Thank you so much for listening!!! Check out my Instagram @justangmarie and send me a DM if you want to connect! I am SO freaking excited to have a GUEST on today's episode of the Say Yes To You Podcast! Today I am talking to Desire Clayborn, a fitness coach and mental health warrior fighting back Bipolar Type II. In this episode Desirae talks about how her mindset on "what healthy looks like" has changed immensely over the past year of her life. We dive into her unique transition from a fitness influencer to a body positive mental health influencer, and how it is MORE THAN OKAY to change your mindset about things in life! Desirae talks about going in one direction in life, realizing it's not serving you and it's not for you, and then making a pivot and changing your direction. One thing that makes Desirae's story unique is that she gained some weight from her mental health medication; but instead of allowing that to overcome her, she allowed it to EMPOWER her to embark on a NEW journey of self love and female empowerment. Desirae now works out to FEEL good, not to LOOK good. She talks about using personal development audio books, self love affirmations and MORE to love the skin she is in. We also talk Bipolar Disorder, WHAT that is, and what the differences are between Bipolar Type I and Bipolar Type II. Desirae talks about her personal experience living with Bipolar Type II, and I chime in with some personal notes of my own recent thoughts and experiences of living with Bipolar Type II as well. This is just scratching the surface of all of the GOODNESS that this episode has in store! I hope you like it! // Thank you so much for listening and stopping by my fifth episode! You can find DESIRAE on Instagram @desiraeclayborn & myself @justangmarie. Please screenshot this episode and post it to your IG story if you listened! Send me a DM if you want to connect! And check out my photography website https://angmariemedia.wordpress.com/sayyestoyou/ for some notes from previous episodes. Xoxo.
Happy happy Friday! Welcome back to the Say Yes To You Podcast - episode four! Today's episode as originally going to be called "Saying Yes to Being Imperfect," but that didn't sit right with me. So I changed the title a few minutes before I sat down to record, and I talk about why the heck I did that in the first seven minutes of this episode! Instead, we're saying yes to being HUMAN. I dive into things that I used to think made me "imperfect," but now I know they make me unique, special, original, one-of-a-kind, and... HUMAN. I tell embarrassing, raw and real stories - some that I've literally never told anyone before... about things that make me, ME. Basically - unscripted. Candid. Very laid back. Human to human. Done in one take. My one and only hope for this episode is that you walk away feeling more comfortable and confident with being honest and authentic, and owning the things that make you, YOU. Because you're not imperfect. You're human. And I love you! And I just want you to love you, too. Thank you so much for listening!!! Check out my Instagram @justangmarie and send me a DM if you want to connect! And check out my photography website https://angmariemedia.wordpress.com/sayyestoyou/ for the SCRIPT of today's episode. Talk to you next week!
What is UP you guys! Happy Friday! Today I have episode THREE of the Say Yes To You Podcast for you - and it is all about saying yes to being REAL. What do I mean by that? You'll have to listen to find out! In this episode I first talk about what I mean by “being real," why I feel like a LOT of people are not being "real" right now, and why I felt the urgent need to dive into that. I talk about some hard questions - because we're supposed to be having "uncomfortable" conversations, right? Are a lot of people "listening, learning, educating, having conversations, taking action," and using their voices right NOW - because it's convenient and trendy? Who will still be doing the work 3, 4, 5 months from now, when all of this is no longer trending anymore? I make you stop and think: How are YOU going to act, IF and WHEN LIFE goes back to a form of “normal” that you are hoping, wishing and praying for? The kind of "normal" when you can go to the grocery store without a mask/social distancing... and when your life gets BUSY again. I talk about how I initially felt guilty and pressured to take action, did too much at once, started feeling depressed and stopped showing up for myself. I end with talking about self care, mental health and how you can take REALISTIC, LONG TERM ACTION without getting burnt out or going all in too quickly like I did. I wrap up with referencing the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) for FIVE things that every human being should be prioritizing in their day to day life right now. Thank you so much for listening! Check out my Instagram @justangmarie and send me a DM if you want to connect! And check out my photography website https://angmariemedia.wordpress.com/sayyestoyou/ for the SCRIPT of today's episode - including the five tips on self care from NAMI. Xoxo, Ang.
Welcome back to the Say Yes To You Podcast, episode two. If you are familiar with the quote that I used as the title of this episode, I'm sure you can kind of guess what the episode is going to be about. But if you are NOT familiar with the quote... then this episode is definitely for you. In this episode I first dive into what I think about when I see the quote, "I can't breathe," and how I was initially confused and lost when it came to what is and has been going on in the world, because of my choice to not consume news since the beginning of March. After clearing up my own stance and thoughts on the situation for 20 minutes, I then interview my friend Dre Lawrence. Dre is an African American female who has a better understanding and viewpoint of the George Floyd situation, and everything that has lead to this over the past eight years. My goal of my conversation with Dre was for it to be laid back, conversational and of course, not perfect or scripted. You can find Dre on social media @bodbydre, and me @justangmarie. Please send either of us a DM if you want to connect! And check out my media website https://angmariemedia.wordpress.com/sayyestoyou/ for the SCRIPT of the beginning of today's episode (pre-interview). Thanks!!!
