Hello!! Welcome to my Podcast- The Journey of A Researcher. My name is Dr. Kasturi Banerjee and I am a Researcher. I got my Dual B.S.-M.S. degree in Life Sciences from I.I.S.E.R. Mohali, India. I graduated with a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology on May 2018 from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Nebraska, USA. And I currently work as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Stony Brook University, New York, USA.In our high-school science books we have all heard about notable scientists, but seldom do we know know about their career path and that's where I believe a lot of uncertainty raises
When I was in the final year of my MS degree, I had no mentorship or idea on how to prepare myself for PhD programs or finding jobs after graduation. After 11 years of still figuring out on how to navigate through scientific job market, I have prepared a list of "5 Important Things" that you need to start working on as soon as you enter your final year. These 5 things have helped me in preparing myself to compete in the academic and non-academic job market. All the Best Graduates!!!!
