I had a big breakthrough just before recording this episode... Even though it may seem like common sense, you have to set your intentions before you enter a selling situation. If you are walking into a pitch, setting up for a meeting, or helping someone on the showroom floor, before you engage with the prospect, set your intentions to close the deal. I am by no means in bad shape, however, I do battle daily with consuming the proper foods. A concept that I found really resonated with me is viewing food as "fuel" and not an "experience".
I know as I do, you can build out entire days, trips and family time around food and meals, but if you are struggling with your fitness, see if you can make a conscious effort to think about the fuel you are filling up your body with.

How do you manage your expectations, or do you even manage them at all? If you are in sales, the average sale takes 7-12 contacts before a deal can be closed. If you come in to each deal thinking you will close it down on the first visit, and repeatedly get turned down, you will begin to lose your drive and determination.
Now on the other hand, if you manage your expectations and know going in to the sales process you will need to make 7-12 calls, when you are not done with the deal after 4 attempts, you will already be in the mindset that you have to keep going and find it much easier to keep grinding it out to the close.

The hardest part about building self confidence is taking the first step... Today is a great day for me! I paid off the note on my Lotus Elise and couldn't be happier with the choice I made. I received lots of criticism when I made the purchase, that it was not smart financially, that I should buy a house instead, it's not realistic to own a car like this... I ignored it all went for it, and now 5yrs later it turned out to be a great experience and something I wouldn't trade or do differently.
