The democrats and GOP alike are out of touch with the public. They don't want to help us. They are beholden to the corporate elite. The dream of the US was never democracy. Manufactured consent has defined our society since the 20th century.
The turn of the 20th century brought two trends of disempowerment: Urbanization and industrialization. Both trends dislocated people from a grounded psychological perspective of self. Corporations swooped in with brand identity stories and became the focal point for our self-creative process. Reclaiming our power to speak our own future means abandoning the corporate brand world and finding that essence of self and creativity that can only come from within.
