Dr. Aldo Maspóns was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. His family has resided in the El Paso/Juárez area for over a century. He was raised by his mother, and as a child he worked with his grandfather to design, install, and maintain neon signs. He attended Santa Clara University, where he trained in the Jesuit tradition and earned undergraduate degrees in studio art and biology. He was the first in his family to graduate from college.
