BibleBrew is a space for respectful dialogue as we journey through 21st century popular topics in Biblical theology. BibleBrew will interact with both sides of a topic to learn how to wrestle with complex issues without alienating those who may be on either side of the continuum of opinion.
In this episode, Daniel and Tanner talk more about critical thinking in the 21st century. They discuss the differences between modernism and postmodernism and truth relativism. They explain the dangers of logical fallacies and squabbling debates. Throughout the episode, they dive headlong into Christianity and cancel culture, and the misassociation between "acceptance" and "love".

- Agree on your Standard
- "No other piece of ancient literature has such an abundance of manuscript witnesses as does the New Testament" (New International Version Bible Committee, NIV vi).
- Peer review is a tedious and important process for credible scholarship.
- Two-Way Humility
- Talk with trusted advisors. Older and younger alike. Make sure their life is a testament to their sound teaching or doctrine.
- "You, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance . . . " (2 Tim 3:10 NIV)
- There's Always Another Side
- "The first to speak in court sounds right— until the cross-examination begins." (Prov 18:17 NLT)
- Positional vs. Moral Authority
- Positional = CEO, Head Coach, President
- Moral = Based on your life, people give you authority of their own volition
- Admit Your Bias
- Everyone brings their own perception and bias to the text. It's intellectually dishonest to think one can be totally and completely objective.

In our postmodern world, faith questions and discovery are so important. Learning how each aspect of our faith is built and the connections our faith have with passages rooted in scripture help us to determine what parts of our worldview or belief system or foundation might need some renovation.
But what if my Christian friends start believing things that I don't believe to be Biblically accurate?
It can be tempting to become critical of those who are at different levels in their faith or Biblical discovery. When our journey of faith takes us to personal convictions of what is or is not acceptable in Christ, it can be easy to begin looking down on those who haven't had the same woke moment of faith discovery.
Why despise your brother or sister because they disagree with something the Bible says?
