Welcome to Success After Excess! I am Kristen and I'm going to share my experience and knowledge surrounding excessive behaviours, how to identify them, manage and ultimately destroy them! My goal is help YOU discover and become your BEST YOU!
Hey and welcome back to this week's episode!
This week I wanted to talk about fear and how to directly affects the decisions that we make when it's running us!
I hope that you're dong amazing and thanks as always for taking the time to check out today's episode!
Welcome back for this weeks episode!
When it comes to addictions there is one certainty and that is.... it doesn't discriminate! It affects people regardless of their race, orientation, financial status, etc. Addiction, although seemingly more prevalent in certain circumstances, can affect anyone given the correct variables are present.
I've met a number of individuals who are adamant that addiction only affects a certain type of person with less than desirable attributes.
The reality is that addiction will take on, and take down anyone that it can. It doesn't care what your bank account boasts, what brand of clothes you wear, what type of home you live in and so on.
Thank you for checking out today's episode and I hope that you have an incredible week xx
Did you ever have a feeling that you were being lied to? I know I have!
My addiction was one of the many false information locations in my life. Being battered and broken emotionally and mentally though, I tended to believe what it told me about myself... who I was... how other people saw me... where I was going... what I was worth... what I deserved and I can tell you that none of what it told me was good.
Today I wanted to share a little something and that it... IT'S ALL LIES!!
Hello and welcome back for this week's episode! I was having technical difficulties getting this one up and working however, here we are all sorted! Thank you for your patience!
Today I wanted to share some perspective around what we give up for addiction vs what we give up for sobriety.
Thank you for tuning in and I hope that you enjoy!
Have an amazing week and I look forward to chatting soon!
Have you ever heard the quote "A mistake repeated more than once is a decision."? I had not until the other day and it hit me hard as I used to live my life defying set words and wondering why the universe always rained down sh*t on my head.
The truth of it all is that we keep being tried to learn the same lesson until we learn it and it sticks.
I hope that you're having an incredible week and I hope that you enjoy this week's episode!
Welcome back to this week's episode!!
Today I wanted to talk about the ALL or NOTHING approach and how there's an easier softer way to get where you want to go!
Have an awesome week and as always, thank you for tuning in!
Alright so you may have heard this notion of "We all have the same 24 hours so there's no excuses!"
Yes.... we absolutely all have access to 24 hours each day... no more... no less.
I used to thrive on this idea but moreover, I used to truly believe it... One day though, it dawned on me that although we all have 24 hours a day, that does not mean that all of our 24 look the same. With that, I don't think we should use our circumstances as excuses to not chase our dreams, hit our goals and live a life that fills us up and sets us on fire.
What it does mean though is that our circumstances might shift the path that each of us take to get where we are going, to achieve the outcomes we desire and so on.
If we are going to grow, we need to be flexible.
Hello everyone and welcome to today's episode!
Pity parties can be super easy to fall into but in all honesty, they're not loads of fun nor are they really helpful!
It's always important to acknowledge our feelings and the circumstances surrounding them, however when we start to live in them, we are headed for trouble on multiple fronts!
With that, let's dive into today's episode and thank you, thank you, thank you for tuning in and spending some of your time here with me!
Hey everyone and welcome back to this week's episode!
First and foremost.... HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY!!!!!
On that note, what are we working for? Change! That's what we will be talking about today.
Thank you as always for tuning in and I look forward to next week!
There are plenty of people in our lifetime that will lie to us and deceive us.... there are even certain institutions that mill offer their misleadings!
In my personal experience though, nothing lies quite like addiction and that's what I wanted to chat with you all about today.
I hope that wherever you're tuning in from, that you're doing well and that you know that you're not alone!
Hey everyone and welcome back for this week's episode!
Today I wanted to talk about the effort that can go into addiction... It's like a full time job on steroids and literally giving it one's all to hit the required quotas.
Looking back today... my life was exhausting... the lies, the fronts the upkeep of trying to convince the world that I was something else was overwhelming.
Thankfully, todays is a different story!
Thank you all for tuning in and I hope that you enjoy the episode!
Hey everyone! How are you all this week? I hope very well!
So this week I wanted to dive into a concept that led my to a much needed emotional release recently. It was the realization or rather acceptance and acknowledgement that there was never and still is not something wrong with me. Rather, due to my genetic make up, coupled with my upbringing and experiences, I came to understand that things happened and on account of those things, More things happened, my addiction kicked into high gear and the destructive behaviours escalated.
Now this wasn't a pass that excused all that I had done wrong so to speak, however it is the opportunity that I needed to see myself as someone who was sick and in in great need of help if I was ever going to get better.
We all need a place to start and in all honesty... this was a huge jumping off point for me and perhaps it can be for others too!
I remember what it felt like to not feel worthy of love... I remember the guilt... the shame... all of the things that helped me reinforce the notion that I was not worthy.
Once I sobered up things began to change though and I began to feel loved and started to understand how to love myself.
It's been a process but just in case you're not sure... YOU are WORTHY of LOVE!
Hello all!
This week I wanted to talk about knowing your worth!
When I was in the throws of my addiction I settled HARD!! I was incapable of seeing my worth along with my potential... that being said, I was not getting my needs met, I was not growing and I felt 100% unfulfilled in EVERY aspect of my life.
During my sobriety I began to learn the importance of worth, but also how to feel comfortable feeling worthy enough to acknowledge as well as step into my worth! It's something I work on daily and as is with most everything in life, the journey will be a continuous one as I hope it is for you!
Welcome to this week's episode!
Today we are talking about not making exceptions for ourselves.
Back when I was suffering in my addiction I was extremely good at making exceptions for myself aka, setting a standard and or goal for myself and then making it 100% okay to not meet set standard and or goal.
I realize now that I was always seeking the easy way out and by allowing myself off the hook not only was a not taking responsibility for myself or my actions, I was also short changing myself so to speak... selling myself short.
If that's a pattern that you're noticing in your life, let's chat about how we can make a shift so that you can stop giving yourself the short end of the stick and start receiving what you truly deserve!
Hey everyone and welcome back for another episode of Success After Excess! Thank you all so much for showing up and spending some time with me! It's always appreciated!
Today I wanted to talk about getting to know yourself.
I know for myself, when I was lost in my addiction, I had severed so many ties with myself, I hid myself, I hurt myself... I did not know how to be comfortable in my own skin and eventually had let my true self go. This meant that there was no chance in hell that I was going to find any semblance of worth, growth, happiness, fulfillment... nothing. I was pretending to be someone I was not and I was paying the price.
Who are you? What do you like and dislike? What does your voice have to say? What are your needs? Your desires?
Do you know what you need to thrive and grow?
Hello everyone and welcome back to Success After Excess!
Can you believe that we are here in 2021?! I am so grateful that we made the best of the circumstances that 2020 brought us and honestly.... if any year was going to be the year to do it different... I think this is it! I've learned a lot over the past year and with that, I plan to crush this year with confidence!
I can tell you that growing up, and for most of my life to be honest, I wasn't living much in the realm of confidence. Soooo with that, I wanted to share one of my little secrets to boosting my confidence when something and or someone comes along to try and crash my party.
Life is short guys and time is fleeting... as we have all recently experienced, things can change in an instant. So let's not let any more time pass us by... lets not let fear make a wasteland of our goals and dreams... Let's make the most out of what we've got!
YOU GOT THIS!! WE'VE GOT THIS!!!
Hey everyone and welcome to the final episode of the year!
It feels odd to say given the circumstances of this year but despite it all.... this year went much faster than I initially envisioned it going! Here we are closing another chapter and here's to hoping that 2021 will contain some massive change that we are all doubt all seeking!
With that, this week I really wanted to stress the importance of taking some inventory and bringing in the who and what that will serve you best this year and sending the rest of to packing, along with the last of this year!
You are amazing, incredible, smart, talented, strong, capable and loved! Whatever you set out there for yourself, I promise that you have the ability to get out there and get it! Let's jump into 2021 strong and show this year who you are!
All the best to you in what's left of 2020 and I am wishing you all an amazing start to 2021! I can't wait to catch up with you then! Thank you all for tuning in, sharing your time with me, sharing this space with me and for being straight up awesome! I can't wait to see what's in store! Take care, all the best and see you next year xx
Hello everyone and welcome back for this week's episode!
Today I wanted to talk about something that crippled me for YEARS!! It's such a simple thing however like most simple things when they accumulate, they then become big things....
In this episode we are talking about making decisions based on our current circumstances and what it means for us down the road.
Obviously that are certain scenarios in life that require people to make hard and fast decisions based on their current circumstances for their own safety and well being so please know that we are not talking about extreme situations like that today.
I hope that you are enjoying your holiday season and I hope that you are taking care of yourself our there!
Thank you for stopping by and tuning in and I look forward to catching up next week!
Hey everyone and welcome back to Success After Excess!
Thank you soooo much for tuning in and this week I wanted to have a quick chat about getting prepped for 2021!
None of us know what tomorrow holds, let alone an entire year, but I've got a good feeling about this one! If anything, 2020 has set us up to launch a level of growth and change that the world has NEVER seen before! We have been presented a unique opportunity to not only accelerate our personal growth and change but to also change the world in ways that have not been presented before!
With that, now is not the time to wait! Don't wait until January to start setting your goals OR to start tracking them! Start NOW and kick off 2021 with an already cemented path to smashing goals and being well on your way to where you want to head!
Welcome to this week's episode and thank you all choosing to spend some time with me today! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate it! I hope that your week is off to an amazing start and that you are safe and sound.
This week I wanted to touch on something crucial and despite the title, it's nothing to do with the ball park.... it IS however to do with the people in our lives, no matter our level of interaction with them.
Bottom line is we can't win 'em all and what I mean is, we cannot make everyone happy. Not only is it not our job, It is literally IMPOSSIBLE!
I hope that you enjoy today's podcast and I look forward to checking in again next week! Until then, all the best!
Hey everyone and welcome back for this weeks episode! Thank you as always for tuning in!
It's been a time... Covid hit our house and today is the first day in a near MONTH.... YES A MONTH, that the entire family is finally able to be out and back to our regular activities. This past time has been filled with lots of laughs, Super Mario Bros, baking and in all honesty, some truly challenging moments and days.
That being said, despite not always winning, there is one tool that does have a huge impact and that is coming at things from a place of gratitude. It doesn't only allow for an improved mindset, but it has a ripple effect on everything else. It is literally the best bang for your buck so to speak in helping to shift things and turn things around!
With that, I hope that you enjoy this episode and I hope that you're doing well!
Also before I go, I have been looking for more ways to make our experience here more interactive as I would LOVE to get to know you all better! I would love to hear what you're up to, what you like about the podcast and also what you would like to hear about! If you're interested, you can find me on Instagram @kristen_muldoon
Please don't hesitate to say hey! As I've said, I would love to be able to connect more with you and I will be launching more things in the near future and want to be sure that you are all able to tune in and take part.
I look forward to chatting soon! Take care and all the best!
Hello and happy Monday! How are we all doing today? I hope very well!
The last number of weeks here have been trying and that's the 100% truth. Covid came to visit our house and now that we are a week out from being done quarantine (2 separate quarantines that is on account of some household members testing negative), I can tell you that the countdown is on!
With 2020 coming to a close, I have been continuing to keep my focus on where I am heading... where I see myself during the rest of our current circumstances, as well as where I will be after them. Hence today's topic of 'Action Plan'
Without an action plan, our minds can take over and trust me, they will take us to places that we don't want to go. If we let our minds run wild, then they will and we will likely feel that our lives are following a suit, Having an action plan in place, and a touch of gratitude despite our circumstances, we WILL not only find a way out the other side of this, but we can also come out of this stronger and ready to take on anything!
Have an awesome start to your week and as always, thank you for choosing to share some time here today!
Hello and welcome back!! Thank you for tuning in and I hope that your week is off to an incredible start!
I know that last week was a little heavy and after some thought, I wanted to talk about some strategies that you can use to help cope with the cut so to speak.
Creating change in our lives isn't always easy but I promise you that it's worth it!
Have a great day and thank you for choosing to spend some time here today!
Hello and happy Monday! How are we all doing this week? I hope amazing!!
So... today I wanted to talk about something that is near and dear to me and can be a challenge to say the least... today I wanted to talk about not only the importance but also the necessity of "Taking out the trash"
Literally it's always a good idea. but figuratively it is as well.
When I talk about taking out the trash, I am talking about people, places, things, thought patterns and or experiences that do not serve you, rob you of your happiness, diminish you as a person and so on. This can be a hard thing to do... trust me... it is something that I am still working on.
People can and will challenge your actions and make you question your boundaries and make you feel as though you're dong something wrong... perhaps holding a grudge but I'm here to tell you that that's their own baggage and you, you are 100% entitled to hold that boundary strong!!
I hope that you enjoy todays episode, thank you for listening and until next time, take care !!
Hello all and welcome to this weeks episode!
Today I am getting straight to the point with insanity. I can tell you that I spent heaps of time stuck in repetitive cycles of insanity and they absolutely ruled my world. Thankfully, we don't have to live in these overwhelming and damaging cycles! There are healthy ways out once we recognize how and where insanity crops up in our lives!
I hope that you enjoy and thank you as always for stopping by! All the best!
Hello everyone and welcome back for this weeks episode of Success After Excess!
I am VERY excited for this one!!
Ever remember hearing the phrase "Practice makes perfect!" Well guess what?!?! IT'S A LIE!!!!!
When I came to understand that I had been being fed such a dose of unrealistic standards, it was SUCH a relief to be able to toss it away and breathe! FINALLY I could let go and honestly, feel some semblance of freedom!
Now I'm not saying that I have just trashed all of my standards and don't utilize measurable tools to hit goals, what I am 100% saying is, that I have given myself full permission to take an unrealistic standard and pressure off of my back.
I heard a new phrase that suits much better and that I choose to go by now and it is "Practice makes way for progress!"
So on this Monday, take a deep breathe, give yourself a break and happily crush your week!
Happy Monday everyone and thanks for checking out this weeks episode!
It's a hot topic at the moment and in my opinion, rightfully so! We are all individually facing personally unprecedented times coupled with a dose of uncertainty. Generally it's always a great idea to do personal check ins and also check in with those around us because.... well because sometimes life is trying and sometimes even though we might need help, we don't always ask for it.
More than ever, I think that it 's imperative that we are not only being honest with ourselves and others about where we are at and what we need, but that we are also making sure that we are extending our hand to those around us by checking in with them.
Not only does this simple action help us get out of our own scenario and goings on, it also opens the door for someone who might really need that helping hand.
It's also incredibly powerful what a little connection can do for a person!
Hello and welcome back to this weeks episode!
Today I wanted to talk a bit about the comparison game and how it 100% hinders our ability to get out there and crush it like only we can!
Sure, there are some heavy hitters in this world that are breaking it down like no other but guess what? So what?! YOU are here for a reason and you have something uniquely your own to share with this world! Nurture the one and only incomperable you and get out there and leave your mark in a way that only you can!
Hello, happy Monday and welcome back for this week's episode of Success After Excess!
So many times in life I have found that I can get caught up in very cyclical and unhelpful thought patterns and or behaviours.... I am happy to say that I have recently opened myself up to a new method and I am SOOOOO grateful that I did!
Meditation was something that I was never drawn to in the past. I considered it and had tried it some but never really felt that it had any value for me. Looking back though, I know now that I never really gave it a fair go. This past week though, that has changed and not only do I realize that meditation is not what I thought it was, but it is changing my life!
With that, let's dive on in!
Hello and happy Monday!
How's are you this fine day? I hope fantastic! Fall has been kicking into high gear here however our weather is about to take a hard turn straight into Summer today with temperatures reaching 27! Despite having a back that is making the simplest of things challenging today, I'm going to get out and enjoy it! Why? Well because it's important to move for me so I can keep my headspace where I want it and fresh air is the best!
On that note, today's episode is talking about self care! It's something that I feel the importance of cannot be stressed enough, especially in the days of now.
I hope that you enjoy and if you aren't taking some time for you now, you will feel inspired to do so! Thank you as always for choosing to spend your time here today and I hope that you have an amazing week!
Well good morning! I apologize for getting this week's episode up on the late side. It's been a super busy day so far!
In this episode I was wanting to touch on habits. Why? Well aside from being incredibly important for various reasons, during this time in the world, mine became glaringly obvious! Without the regular fast paced distractions readily available, I was able to see my habits and what they were doing for me and surprise surprise, they weren't as effective as I had initially convinced myself.
I hope that you enjoy and I also hope that your week is off to a wicked awesome start! Thank you as always for coming and sharing some time here and I look forward to next week! All the best xx
Hello and happy Monday!!
Ever had an interaction with someone that resulted in you writing off the emotional and or mental integrity of the remainder of your day? I know I have! There have been many a times where I have handed over total control to another person and every single time it's resulted in disaster!
In today's episode we are chatting about triggers and why we need to be the ones in charge of them.
Thanks for tuning in and here's to having a great week! Enjoy!
Hello everyone and welcome back for this week's episode of Success After Excess!
How are you all doing as of late? I hope well! Myself? I've been doing well for the most part.... however if I'm being completely honest, I've had an old habit that's been cropping up that I wanted to share because I don't think I'm alone in my feelings. I've been noticing that I am getting upset over things that I used to be able to look past... I'm noticing that old behaviours are rearing their heads and I want that about as much as I want a bad rash!
With that, I came across a quote that hit it home in a big way! It was "Flexible people bend without getting bent." And that, is exactly what we are going to chat about today!
Well hello there!! It's been a minute is an understatement but with that, I am 100% BACK and on track! What a time to come back in as well right?!
To those of you that have been here since day 1, those of you that have simply popped on by and jot those of you that are showing up now.... THANK YOU!! I am absolutely grateful to you all for choosing to show up and to share your time and this space with me!
Things have been off the wall and I am so happy to be here with you all just diving right back into it! Happy Monday and let's jump right in!
Hey everyone and welcome to episode 71! I hope that you've been having an incredible week so far!
Today I am talking about allowing ourselves to be interjected into situations which do not concern us. This happens at times by choosing to involve ourselves in other peoples business and other times, people can lean on us to mediate and or try to have us handle a situation for them.
As nice as it is to be helpful, the issue that arises in scenarios like these is that one, we step out of our lane so to speak by putting ourselves in a situation that we do not have a place in. By doing so, we typically end up becoming responsible for the outcome of the situation and are now responsible for the ever pending backlash and likely inevitable upset. Also, we now have the unpleasant task of juggling emotions and stress that were not our burden to begin with.
It is SO important to make sure that we are holding ourselves accountable and in situations like these, we can ultimately offer support, however it is not our responsibility or place to get involved. We end up typically paying negative consequences that were inevitable altogether. Some people may become agitated when we decline to involve ourselves, but it is imperative that we are not crutches for others and thus putting ourselves in danger of suffering from much undue stress and possible overwhelm. We are all responsible for OUR own lives and the outcomes of OUR own behaviour and actions.
Thank you as always for tuning in and I hope that you have a fab rest of your day!!
Hello all and happy Friday!! How are you today? I hope that you are all doing amazing and that your weekend is off to a great start! It's a long weekend here and we are getting a solid break from consistent rainy weather, and with that, I am pumped!!
Today's episode is based on a quote that I came across and it was talking about not allowing our current circumstances to dictate our mood and or how we feel. At the end of the day, regardless of what is going on in our lives or what is going on around us in the world, we are 100% able to control how we feel and interact with ourselves and the world.
Absolutely we are entitled to feel off, have an off day, feel emotions around something and or someone however the accountability of how we feel and moreover, how we choose to manage those feelings, our mindset and our perspective/perception, is 100% up to us.
So if you're feeling like a thought, an emotion and or a situation is starting to run your day then I encourage you to hit the pause button and give some honest thought as to the source of what is really driving things because 1. what seems to be the issue is very rarely the issue and 2. then you are able to source out the root of what is really going on and start seeking out some solutions so that you can move forward without letting outside circumstances drive your day!
Hey everyone and welcome back to episode 69!
Before we dive in I just wanted to say thank you thank you for tuning in and I wanted to give a little update.
For those of you that have been listening along, I am due to greet my baby soon and with that, am going to be scaling back from five podcasts a week to two. In the meantime, as mentioned in previous posts, I am working on some other things that I am so super excited to share with you all!!
SO, back to today's episode! I heard Dwayne Johnson talking about his favourite quote and it was "It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice." I don't know about you guys, but I LOVE THIS!!
It's true that people will never forget how you made them feel and bottom line, if you're genuinely putting your best foot forward and treating people with kindness, it is inevitable that not only will you have better relations with others, you'll absolutely be responsible for improving someone else's day while simultaneously improving your own, right along with the very quality of your life! It's incredible how far even a little bit of kindness goes! In all honesty, we rarely know the true depths of another's struggle, especially when it comes to those we do not know, but the one thing that I do know, is that we are all human and most of us want the same things. We all want to be loved, to feel important, to be wanted, to be needed, to be special and we want to be good enough! Trust me, we can all feel a little more validated when we are kind to one another, even when.. come to think of it, especially when it is toward someone who appears to not deserve it.
Hello all and happy Monday! I hope that your week is off to an awesome start!
In today's episode I wanted to talk about what you are doing to move the needle for yourself? To grow, to motivate, to inspire and so on! I chose to talk about some of the simple things that I have incorporated and am continuing to incorporate into my life to help myself, and I would LOVE to hear back from YOU!
Not just in regards to today's episode but for others as well! Shoot me a message and let me know what you're liking and what you would love to hear about!
With that, thank you for tuning in and I will see you tomorrow!
Good morning all and happy Thursday! I hope that you're all doing incredible and I am super pumped to be here today!
This episode is all about who's standards you are choosing to live your life by. With the pressures to be accepted and loved, increased by our use of social platforms, it can become SO super easy to compromise our own standards and start adjusting to fall in line with the standards set by others.
If we looking for the best version of our self, high quality relationships and happiness though, we absolutely NEED to clarify, acknowledge, set and stick to our own standards!
"It is better to be hated for what you are, than to be loved for what you are not" Be true you! ALWAYS!!

I thank you all for tuning in and I am hopeful that this story will give you a deeper insight into my story and into what has shaped me as an individual and provides some background as to how my journey has unfolded and ultimately led me here.
I hope that your week is off to a great start and I look forward to sharing more with you as the week progresses. Take care and all the best!
Hello all and welcome to episode 61! Thank you for tuning in today!
Have you ever worked incredibly hard towards a goal and or outcome, only to have it go sideways or not pan out the way that you had planned and or envisioned? In all honesty, how easily did self doubt, fear and or inadequacy creep up? Probably light speed! It makes it so easy to give up on ourselves in those moments however it is crucial in those times that we look to where we started and celebrate how far we have come!!!
Winning doesn't always mean being first. Winning means you're doing netter than you've done before - Bonnie Blair
Although I do not typically I do not post on the weekends, I am putting up more origin story and am going to plan the first segment tomorrow. I did recorded the story in one go, however it is painfully long! I love the time that we spend together and want to ensure you guys are happy! I will post the rest of my origin story on Monay!
Welcome everyone to episode 60!
Have you ever hears the saying "Whatever we do we do for a feeling"? That's what the focus of today's podcast is. It inspired me because it fits SO incredibly well with excessive behaviours. Typically we end up caught in a pattern of excessive behaviour either trying to recapture and or discover a feeling and or to numb out feelings.
It is amazing what we will do for a feeling! I know for myself, I lived in a cycle of insanity for a long long time. I was hopeful that what I was doing would gain me different results... that somehow things would just be different. It turns out, that approach wasn't working for me and I was the last to find out!
Looking at the vehicles that we use to feel something is a good start to assess whether or not we are heading in an effective direction or whether we are driving ourselves into a place where we don't necessarily want to be.
Hello everyone and good morning! How are you doing today? I hope fabulous! The sun us shining here - FINALLY - and I am SO incredibly grateful!
Welcome to episode 59!! Today I am focusing on the importance of knowledge as it truly is the key to growth! Think back to when you were a child and began learning say the alphabet. It starts out simply being able to identify letters and then learning their sounds. From that, you learn how to identify words, write your name, read and then construct sentences, perhaps write poetry, convey your thoughts and feelings through words. The same process applies to life. The more knowledge that we can obtain in regards to skills and tools, the more that we can not only learn, but the more that we can grow. The more that we can then strive to higher levels, larger goals and a better quality of life!
Learning is a process that takes time and patience however as with anything else, if we remain diligent and consistent, we will be amazed at the results that we can obtain and just how incredible life can be!
Hello everyone and welcome back! I hope that you all had a great weekend!, It was a long weekend here and we made the most of it despite the delayed warm weather that we are having. Thank you all for tuning in to today's episode!
I was inspired today by a quote by Tony Robbins and it is "A real decision is measured by the fact that you've taken a new action. If there's no action, you truly haven't decided."
How true is that?! I know for myself that procrastination, fear and a lack of belief in my self and my abilities lead me to not follow through on so many things, while simultaneously finding reasons "why" it didn't work out the way that I had hoped and or planned. Bottom line, I was justifying my lack of commitment to these decisions and when I look back now, I see the potential of where I could have been and what I could have accomplished. Being able to utilize a new found perspective now means that I can move past those whys and start to produce results in my life! It's incredible what happens when you have hope AND a plan!
With that, I am currently working on some projects that I am very excited about and they are for YOU! I cannot wait to share more with you all in the future and I am SO incredibly excited!! Thank you all for tuning in! I cannot tell you how much I love being able to share time with you and I hope that you have an incredible rest of your day!!
Good morning all and happy Friday! Thank you SO much for tuning in today and I hope that your day is off to an incredible start! I was going to post my origin story today but ultimately decided that I wanted to put a little more time into it, so I will be posting it next week.
Today I wanted to talk about the impact of our speech on the outcome of things in our lives. I know that sometimes things like that come off sounding hokey, but TRUST ME when I say, it has a HUGE effect on the outcome of situations as well as on our mindset, drive and overall success!
With that, I hope that you enjoy today's podcast and that you have an incredible day and weekend! I look forward to connecting with you all on Monday! Take care and all the best!
Hey everyone and welcome to today's episode where we are talking about stunted growth. This was something that was important for me to talk about as it was very prevalent in my growth and transitions. What I came to discover with my addiction was that most of my strategies and coping mechanisms were stunted to a time in my life where my addiction really started to form. With that, although they would have served me well at that stage in my life, they were no longer serving my however I was in the dark about that. I could not figure out for the life of me, why I struggled so much on life, felt so much resistance and could not just deem to get with the program so to speak. Looking back now I understand that I was stunted emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Once I became aware of this, I ws able to start tapping into resources that allowed me the opportunity to learn and grow so that I could approach life, in all aspects, with a new perspective and fresh tools that allowed me to really start to build and cultivate healthy relationships and patterns in my life.

Happy Wednesday and welcome to episode 55!
Today I wanted talk about just how far we are willing to go to create change, get motivated, get fired up and to get where we want!
I truly believe that you are capable of ANYTHING!! Seriously though! I truly do! When I was growing up my Father would tell me 'anything worth having requires effort". I know that to be very true from first hand life experience, as I am sure many do.
Once ignorance is no longer bliss as we have seen the light so to speak, it becomes very difficult not to jump to the next level for we have entered a new stage of consciousness and awareness. THAT is where the determination starts! It is at this time that we NEED to start seeking out fuel to keep our inner fire burning! We NEED to start seeking out tools that are going to help us propel forward and seek out people that are going to encourage our journey and provide us with new insights and methods!
So I ask you, what are YOU willing to do for YOU? How far are YOU willing to go? How hard are YOU willing to push?
Thank you for tuning in today and I look forward to meeting up tomorrow! Have a great day!
Hello everyone and welcome to today's episode where I wanted to talk about the truth of what existed underneath the mask that I wore for so long during the throws of my addiction.
I worked incredibly hard to put on a pretty mask so that the world would not be able to see the real me and what fuelled me every day... sadness, anger, insecurity, guilt, self pity, self loathing, FEAR, uncertainty and so on.... all great things right?! The fact of the matter was that all my efforts were for not as people could still see the real me and the fact that I was struggling was evident.
When I was ready to get sober up and face the truth of myself and my life, I was truly terrified! I can tell you though that it was incredibly liberating to let the layers that I had built up over the years fall away, It was such a sense of relief and I would do it all over again however I hope that I will never have to.
Happy Monday guys! I hope the weekend was awesome and that the week is off to a great start for everyone! Thank you so much for tuning in to episode 53!
Today is a short and simple one. YOU have dreams. YOU have goals. YOU have a desired quality of life. DO NOT allow someone else to rob you of that! Set your barriers and keep them strong!
Good morning and welcome to episode 52! Today's topic is emulation.
This is a big one for it is one of the best ways for us to ensure speedy progress and also lessen the pitfalls that we may encounter along the way. By looking to those who have achieved the same goals that we wish to hit, we can then utilize their journey as a road map so to speak. This helps us maintain direction that is not only proven to work, but it also saves us time and energy by being able to avoid spending time and energy on the things and areas that will not end up working.
As great as emulation is, it is imperative to always remain yourself as well! People around you are drawn to you because of your uniqueness so don't forget to always be transparent and to always still be true to yourself as you strive forward.
Thank you all for tuning in and I hope that you have an awesome weekend! To those that are celebrating it this weekend, Happy Mother's Day!
Hello and welcome to episode 51! Today's topic is: Don't Share YOUR Big Dreams With Small Minded People!
When we have a dream, it is imperative to nurture it in every way that we can and a HUGE part of bringing our dreams to life, is surrounding ourselves with people who are going to see our vision and support us in our quest! There are those in our lives that we assume will support us no matter what, however, if you haven't already, you may find that some of these people in our lives are some of the quickest to attempt to axe our goals. It isn't because they don't care for us, rather it is due to their own limiting beliefs.
Unfortunately they become dream killers and what we need is dream catchers! Your dreams and goals are important and they matter so be mindful of who you choose to share them with!
Hav an awesome day everyoe and thank you for allowing me to spend some time with you today!
Hello and welcome back for episode 50!!!! Today's topic is: Change IS as EASY as making a decision!
I am sure that there are some... perhaps many, that would beg to differ! The simple truth is that it is honestly that easy! Once we make the decision, we are FINALLY able to start moving in a forward direction and gain momentum which will allow us to see the change through!
Think about it! Have you say ever considered leaving a job for a different or better opportunity but were faced with some uncertainty on whether to do so or how to take action? Or perhaps you struggled with the idea of leaving a relationship? Then... you made the decision! In that moment, you feel SO incredibly certain! You know, that despite the emotions attached to the situation, that you have made the right choice and move forward by taking action! It is the same with any kind of change we want to inflict in our lives! It is as simple as making the choice... making a decision!
Thank you as always for tuning in and I hope that you have a great day!
Hello everyone and thanks for tuning in to episode 49!
Our past is a funny thing and can serve us OR hinder us, depending on how we want to look at it and utilize it.
I don't know about you but my past was full of fears, anxieties, failures, limiting beliefs and so on. ALL the good stuff!! Based on my past experiences I was too afraid to step out of my comfort zone to try something new... anything new. I truly believed that I had been dealt my lot in life and not only was I incapable of changing it, I didn't deserve any different. My past was my prison. It was the lock that held me in place. Never growing. Never hopeful enough to try and for the longest time, blinded to the possibility of change in any way.
FINALLY, there came a time where I broke. I was absolutely shattered. This was great! I know that may sound crazy but in all honesty, it threw me into a state of surrender, which in turn, allowed me to become teachable. It allowed me to become open minded. It was a moment where the opportunity for change was able to stuff it's foot in the door. Thus began my journey. One where I was able to turn my past from a lock, into a key. I was able to start changing how I saw my past and was able to start to use it as a tool. A tool to promote growth and help propel myself to higher levels and inevitably, a tool to be able to share with people like YOU! There was a time where I could not see a way out... but I promise that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that you are powerful beyond measure and that there is a key in your past which will unlock your future!!
Happy Monday everyone! I hope that you all had a great weekend! Welcome to episode 48! Today I wanted to talk about fact vs fiction when it comes to our emotions and the facts of our situation.
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you are feeling anxious and or overwhelmed over a situation or scenario that has not actually come to fruition? I know that I have! Every single time I have come to realize that the situation (my reality) did not match my emotions. At the end of the day it became a battle between a runaway emotional train and thoughts.
Our minds and emotions are so powerful that they can literally take over and create an alternate reality of sorts and that's where it is imperative to be able to hit the pause button and assess whether or not we are feeling is the truth! Otherwise we can end up trapped in a cycle of thoughts that are creating negative outcomes in our lives over situations that are in fact, made up. What is really going on is fear is finding a way to creep into our minds and begins to feed uncertainty. Hence why it is so important to take pause and evaluate what is going on so we can reset and get our thoughts back on track so that we are able to continue forward, and not become trapped in a cycle of falsity.
Happy Friday everyone! Thank you for tuning in for episode 47! Today I wanted to talk a bit about self perception and how it affects how we are perceived in the world.
Some of us are excellent at putting on a mask when we are out in the world. So much so that people end up being intensely shocked when they eventually come to know who we really are. Rarely though are we able to keep up our facade forever though. Eventually cracks start to appear and our true selves begin to ooze out into the light.
The point that I am trying to make is that regardless of who we want others to believe that we are or who we want to be, the way that we truly see ourselves and the truth of how we feel about ourselves, will ALWAYS determine our lot in life and ultimately who we really are shows through to the world, despite our best efforts.
With that, if we are willing to become open minded and honest, we can start to take steps towards change and if we are willing to change our beliefs, then I PROMISE, we are then able to 100% change our lives! It make sound ridiculous but I know from my first hand experience that change is as easy as making a decision. Yes it will require action, however the decision is all it takes to get started!
Hey everyone! Thank you for stopping by and tuning in today! I wanted to touch on authenticity today because I know from my own experience, I found it difficult to be authentic for a large part of my life. Some people may not understand why and honestly, it was because I was filled with fear, self doubt and had incredibly low self esteem. I felt judged and undeserving of many things.
Living in today's day and age it is also incredibly easy to falsify ones looks and the appearance of their lives. This creates room for false self esteem and self worth. There are so many masks that we can wear and avenues that we can take to hide our true selves from the world.
When we learn to be our true selves, and be authentic, we can then learn to grow and love ourselves. Through learning to love ourselves and nurture a healthy relationship with ourselves, we can then have the courage to lay ourselves bare and then truly be open to giving ourselves fully to others. We can then truly love others and allow ourselves to be loved.
Hello everyone! I hope that your day is off to a great start and thank you for tuning in and allowing me to share this time with you today!
In this episode, I wanted to focus on a behaviour that I used to partake in and for the longest time, was completely unaware of it and the damage it was doing to myself and my relationships. It is a self sabotaging behaviour that stemmed from self defence.
Basically in order to protect myself, I would lash out at those around me before they had an opportunity to hurt me and in relationships, because I did not feel deserving of love, I would utilize the behaviour to self sabotage my relationship. One day during an interaction with a friend, I exercised this behaviour and for some reason in that moment, it hit me like a ton of bricks, just how wrong I was.
Looking back I believe it was because in that moment my friend was in pain and despite that, my desire to protect myself was greater than my ability to help her. I feel that those circumstances are what helped me become aware of this behaviour. Once I came to so to speak, I was determined to change it. I finally understood I was ruthlessly hurting those I cared about the most as well as myself and all due to a broken defence mechanism that was no longer serving me.
Once we become aware of these excessive and negative behaviours, we can continue to claim ignorance, however I feel and know from my own experience that it is not worth it. We deserve better! We deserve to be free from the things that are holding us back and that are keeping us from reaching our true potential!!
Welcome everyone to today's episode where the topic is focused on insanity! Living in several cycles of insanity used to be a total normal thing for me and the worst of it was, was that I was completely oblivious! Not only to the fact that it was such a part of my life, but also the destruction it was creating in my life. Insanity does not have to be the worst that you can think. Rather it can be very deceitful, especially when it comes to those of us that struggle and or have struggled with excessive behaviours and or limiting beliefs.
Insanity: Do the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
The definition is simple and so are the many ways that it can manifest in our daily lives. Once we take the time to look at how we deal with things, operate in the world and interact with others, we can learn to identify where insanity may be cropping up in our lives. Then we can take measures to change our approach, try a new method... we can ultimately learn how to break the cycle of insanity and move forward in our pursuits!
Hey everyone and thank you for tuning in to today's episode!
Today I wanted to talk about procrastination essentially. This episode is entitled 'What Are You Waiting For?' as I have found in my own personal experience and through the experiences of others that at times, we can get very focused on waiting for the "right" time and or become discouraged at the time with assume it will take us to create change, take a risk, go for a goal, etc.
The quote that got me thinking is "Never give up on a dream because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway."
How true is that?! It can be so easy to allow ourselves to loose focus and determination when we start to focus on the 'what if's' of life.... Speaking for myself, There are a ton of goals that I could have either accomplished altogether or accomplished better and or faster! What it is a lot of the time, is truly an underlying sense of fear that causes us to seek out these "valid reasons" that provided us with what we feel is a justifiable out. That way we can stay safe. We now don't have to take a risk.
Remember though that everything you want is on the other side of fear and that if we truly desire something bad enough, then all we need to do is to keep moving forward! Baby steps or leaps, it does not matter, so long as we keep moving and rather than focusing on those pesky little 'what if's', choose to focus on the journey, not only will we reach our desired outcome, we will be SOOOOO incredibly grateful that we stood in our power and persevered so that we ended up living the lives that we wanted and deserved! So that we could reap the benefits of having the best of ourselves and our relationships and so that we could indulge in experiences that truly served us on the highest possible level!
Hey guys and thank you for tuning in today! I wanted to talk about motive today. Specifically your motive when it comes to connecting with others be it for business or personal. Bottom line, there are a million motives that one can have however, if they are genuine and stem from the desire to truly serve others, I promise that the fruits you will gain will be ten fold of that than if they stem from a place of self.
Have a great one guys and we will talk soon11
Hey everyone and welcome to episode 41! Thank you for tuning in today!
I wanted to take a minute and talk about the concept of you are who you hang with. At one point in my life, I was completely oblivious as to how sick I was and how toxic my relationships were. I truly thought that there was nothing wrong with the negative thinking and speaking, the limiting thoughts and talk and or with the absolutely destructive behaviours.
Looking back on my past, I can see very clearly the cycles that were feeding setback after setback. The funny thing is that most of my beliefs and my perception of the world and what it held for me, were given to me by those closest to me and nurtured by them as well. I feel it's because like myself, it was how they were taught and they had had limiting thoughts and destructive behaviours passed on to them and honestly, were unaware.
Once I came too, I began to gain some clarity. I began to see how despite loving me, there were many in my life that were not as supportive of my new lifestyle as I would have hoped. It was simply because we were no longer operating on the same wavelength. Despite this transition in my life being painful at times, new people began entering my life. Ones who saw my potential and were excited about helping me reach new heights and hit goals! THAT is what we are looking for! People that are going to support our growth! People that are going to help us stay focused and motivated! People that are going to fuel the fire for change!
This is simply because you are who you hang with and who you hang with is 100% going to affect your ability to realize your full potential!
Welcome to episode 40 where the topic is failure.
Traditionally we are taught to look at failure as a negative thing. The incredible Dean Graziosi taught me that failure is not a bad thing! In fact, it is a great learning tool, if we are willing to shift our perspective of what it means. This mindset is a simple yet HUGE difference between successful and unsuccessful people! Here it is... Failure is an opportunity to LEARN! We can use it to look at our design, our process and see where we can tweak things to ensure a different outcome! If we are truly passionate about the life that we want to create... about the change that we want to cultivate and nurture, then giving up when the going gets tough, or when things don't work out the way that we anticipated, isn't a viable option! By changing "failure" into a learning tool, a method of insight, then we can ensure that we continue to progress, one way or another, until we hit our goals and bring our visions to life!
I want you to think about a baby. When we are born we are absolutely helpless. 100% dependant on those around us. Then as we grow, we start to develop skills. A great one for this scenario is learning to walk. Have you ever witnessed this experience? If so, I want you to recall the determination of that child. They most certainly didn't just stand and begin waltzing about! NO! They wobbled and fell and potentially hurt themselves not once, but possibly many times! There were smiles dripping with pride and delight when they managed a few steps and tears of frustration when they continued to stumble and fall! The most important thing about the entire process though, was the determination! No matter what, they would continue to get up and try again! Again and again and again, until they FINALLY mastered walking!
This is the same attitude that we MUST keep in the forefront of our minds when it come to what we are set out to do!
My Father always told me " Nothing worth having comes easy." It is a simple truth and never forget that the struggles will pass and ultimately, YOU ARE WORTH IT!!!!
Hello and welcome back! After solving some issues with one of my programs, we are back on track! Thank you for tuning in to episode 39 in which the topic is titled "Is That A Reflection?" What inspired this topic for me was a pattern that I began to notice personally when people began to change.
When we start to take control of our lives and start creating positive change, we believe that those in our lives are going to be happy for us! That they will be there cheering us on and applauding the shifts that we are having, There absolutely will be people that support our transition however, there are very likely going to be others that scoff at us and start to call us down and treat us as though we think that we are these elite beings that indulge in self righteous behaviour and thrive on making set people feel like they are lesser than us.
The fact of the matter is, we are changing and they are not. We are elevating our state to a wavelength that they are not operating on and it is not malicious in any way, it is just the byproduct of growth. What happens with those types of people in set scenarios is that their own insecurities become glaring and there is likely an element of jealousy present stemming from their own inability, and nor unwillingness, to create change in their own lives. You are a mirror but instead of them being able to still match their reflection with yours, you are a now a reflection of what they could be, but choose not to be. I am sure that you can understand how this could cause them to behave in the way that they do. They act in self defence so that they can continue to justify their own inaction and also try to protect themselves from the negative emotions that they are feeling.
Whatever you do, DO NOT ALLOW THEIR INSECURITIES TO HALT YOUR GROWTH!!!! You 100% DESERVE the life that you are working toward and to help you keep that in mind, here's a little saying to help keep these kinds of situations in perspective:
THOSE WHO MIND DON'T AND THOSE THAT DO DON'T MATTER
Welcome back for episode 38! Today's topic is how happiness if actually found within despite some of our best efforts to find in in others and in things. Instant gratification feels great in the moment however it never lasts and never actually fills the void. When we learn to invest in things that truly fill our souls and inspire us, then we begin to find happiness that lasts and that we can continue to nurture and expand!
Hello and thank you for tuning in! Today's episode is short and sweet! The topic of choice? A simple way to keep the spark in your intimate relationship!
Have a super fab day and remember to keep it simple!
DO NOT ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE DEFINED BY OTHER PEOPLES STANDARDS OR OPINIONS!!
"Tension is who you think you should be. Relaxation is who you are."
It is absolutly within your right and control to shed the standards of those around you and be true to yourself!!!! Not only will it improve your quality of life and the quality of life for those around you, it will literally allow you to make HUGE shifts in your life!
I that you are all having an incredible day and thank you for tuning in!!
Hello and welcome, welcome welcome!! I hope that you are all well and thank you for tuning in to join me today!
Today I wanted to really talk about the saying "Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional" For a LONG LONG time I lived in a mindset where life happened to me and was always working against me. I suffered heaps and looking back now, I fully accept and understand that it was all at my doing! Whilst in that mindset, it was just par for the course that everything was a result of a person, place and or thing that I could easily point the finger of blame at and thus walk away with no accountability.
Nowadays I have come to realize that no one escapes pain. It simply is apart of the human condition and of every single persons journey. Suffering on the other hand is not. Suffering is when we choose to nurture our pain. When we choose to make our pain our focal point and nurse it. The key to dealing with our pain effectively is not to let it take over our life, as trying as it can be at times. The key to effectively dealing with our pain is to acknowledge that we are in pain, talk about it so that we can effectively identify the source pain and then take action to start moving through it.
Life is far too short to dwell and "thrive" in suffering and our time is far too precious. The weight of the world gets lighter when we can learn how to properly set it down from time to time and also let some of it go.
Hey everyone and welcome back for episode 34!! Today I wanted to talk about something that hit me like a ton of bricks earlier this week... You see, I have one relationship in particular that I struggle greatly with. This person is one that plays a HUGE role in my life while simultaneously missing the mark in that regard. It has taken me a VERY long time to accept that this person was never going to be who I thought that they should be, nor who I need them to be. Coming to that realization was incredibly painful. Even today there are times where I struggle with the logic, rather lack thereof, and sometimes step back into this persons line of fire and become hurt again and then remind myself that she simply is who she is. There is nothing that I can do to change this person and despite knowing that she loves me and my children, I have to continue to accept that my Mom is who she is and that her actions are a direct result of her upbringing and her skill set.
So the flip side of this relationship is one I have with a very close friend of mine. She messaged me the other day to surprise me. As I have mentioned before, I am rather atrocious at taking time for myself and as I am reading her message, a HUGE smile began to spread across my face and I honestly began to cry. She had gone ahead and arranged sitting for my children and intended to take me to lunch and a movie so that we could have some child free chill time and I could kick back for a bit. I know it may seem a slight overreaction on my part but do you know what really got me in that moment? The consideration and thoughtfulness that came from her in doing something like that for me. Leading up to her message, I had been fairly focused on sorting through some issues that I had taken up with my Mother and my friend, and this message from my friend gave me the opportunity for yet another perspective shift. It was, why am I wasting my precious time in trying to understand the impossible with my Mother when I have these other stellar relationships with other people that truly support my family and I and are interested in taking the time and putting forth the effort to nurture our relationship?! That's when I made the decision to truly start celebrating the relationships that deserve it and stop lending my energy to ones that don't. I love my Mom and I understand that she is who she is and I will continue to work toward accepting her for who she is (not some of the behaviours) however I will stop pouring my time into trying to understand why, when there are far more important things to pour it into!
Good morning everyone and thank you for tuning in to today's episode! The topic today is appeasement and despite how sometimes, it can be beneficial, when it becomes excessive in its use, it then begins to pose a HUGE threat to our happiness, well being, our authenticity and to our relationships. There is something to be said for choosing not to "rock the boat" from time to time, however as individuals, we all have different needs, wants and desires for our own appeasement and happiness and when we start to appease someone too much, we start to shut parts of ourselves out and or down.
I hope that wherever you are tuning in from today that you have an awesome day and as always, I appreciate you taking time out of your day to tune in!
Hello and here we are for episode 32!! Today we are talking about the importance of finding YOUR why as well as how to uncover your true why! The first time I heard this concept I thought it was incredible! I always thought that I knew what my driving force was in life but as I went through the process that I am going to share with you today, I can tell you that I had layers of superficial whys that were covering up my true why.
In order to find and maintain the momentum that is required to succeed and also create new and lasting change is to know our why so that when things get tough, we are able to forge forward knowing deep down, why we are doing what we are doing!
Have an awesome day and I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow here on Success After Excess! Thank you for tuning in!
Happy Friday everyone and thanks for tuning in to episode 31 where today's topic is, everything is temporary and how it can be so incredibly helpful to remember that! Times get tough and we all experience happiness, sadness, greatness "failures" and the like. It can be so easy, especially when we are in a time of adversity, to end up feeling as though things may never change... as though perhaps we are doomed to remain in a state much less than where we would like to be. This is where it is crucial to take a breath and remind ourselves that no matter what is going on, it WILL not stay the same forever! That things are inevitably going to shift and that there is always a viable solution if we so choose to seek it.
Thank you all for joining me today and I hope that you have an incredible weekend!
Welcome everyone! In today's episode, episode 30, I wanted to talk about the importance of trusting the process.
We live in a society littered with instant gratification which despite feeling great in the moment, can also end up creating a wealth of disappointment, fear, regret and uncertainty amongst other things. When we can acknowledge that it took us time to get where we currently are, then it's that much easier to accept that it is going to take us time to then get where we want to be. Trusting the process also helps us enjoy the journey that we are on. It presents an opportunity for us to be present and celebrate the small wins along the way!
Have a fab day and thank you for tuning in1
Hello all and welcome to episode 29 of Success After Excess! Today I wanted to talk about baby steps!
I don't know about you, but I know on many occasions, I have tried to inflict change at mach speed in my life, only to watch it crash and burn equally as fast as I tried to bring it to fruition! With that said, sometimes change is instantaneous as are the catalysts to create it, however in my own personal experience it is easier to break things down into digestible pieces rather than try to conquer the big picture in tact.
I've also come to understand that by taking baby steps, not only is one I able to create true lasting change in their life, these small steps allow one to create more realistic and attainable goals which help to remain consistent (key component of success), motivated and focused! It also allows you to feel better about where you are going with much less pressure and far more positivity!
Good morning everyone and welcome to episode 28 where we are talking about the importance of remaining teachable. There is a saying that goes "If we are not growing then we are dying". When we close ourselves off to the idea of learning, then we are also closing ourselves off from the ability to grow! There is always something that we can learn and although we may not always agree with certain notions, by remaining open minded and teachable, we are still able to utilize anything that we learn to help up grow. Have an incredibly amazing day and thank you for tuning in!
Hello all and welcome to episode 27!! Today I wanted to talk to you guys about inventory. Any successful business takes inventory regularly and I know before I started on my journey in recovery and personal development, I was the master at taking others people's inventory!
What I have come to learn though is that taking the inventory of others serves no other purpose other than to feed my own distraction and to also bring myself down. With that though comes the importance of regularly taking my own personal inventory. Like any successful business, I want to ensure that I am generating profitable ROI's and that my investments, are serving me well. By taking our own inventory, we keep the focus on where it should be and we grant ourselves the opportunity to ensure that we are investing ourselves wisely in people, places and things! You are valuable as is your time!
Welcome to episode 26! We are talking about technology today and obviously how amazing it is, along with some of the potential pitfalls that it can bring in regards to our ability to truly connect on our relationships. I hope that you guys enjoy and thank you for tuning in! Have an amazing day!
Welcome back for episode 25! Thanks for tuning in today! Today is all about elevating our problems. In the last episode I spoke about an attitude of gratitude and how one thing that would happen with it, would be the appearance of higher quality problems. When we are operating with excessive behaviours we tend to get stuck in cycles that include low quality problems which are detrimental to our happiness, but also keep us stuck in patterns that continually keep us down and hold us back. When we are able to shift our mindset, we can shift our perception and thus begin to focus on higher quality problems, which I promise, will nurture your growth and help propel you towards achieving your goals and the standard of life that you want and deserve!!
Welcome every one!! Here we go with episode 24 which is focused on GRATITUDE!!!!
Attitude is everything! If you want to change your perception of the world, the fastest way to do so is to change your attitude! The BEST way that I have found is to switch to an attitude of gratitude.
I understand that life can be trying and that we all face a variety of hardships along the way and with that, we are going to have hard days. That is part of the human experience. What can happen though is that we can end up falling into excessive negative thinking and that can become a very destructive force in our lives! It brings us down, puts us in a depressive and or aggressive state and also negatively affects the quality of our relationships with those around us, as well as our overall perception of the world.
When we are in these states, it becomes SO easy to feed that negative state just bouncing from one thing to the next.
When we hit the pause button though, we can use gratitude to flip these thoughts on their head and switch our perspective and perception. I promise by doing this consistently over time, it will become like second nature! It will be easy as pie for you to snip destructive thoughts in the bud and jump into a mindset that is going to help you live a higher quality of life, with a higher quality of purpose, outlook and quite frankly, a higher quality of problems which will lead to WAY less stress as well!
Thank you guys for tuning in and I hope that you are having an amazing day!
Good morning and thanks for tuning in to Success After Excess!! Welcome to episode 23 where the past is the past! It can be so easy for us to fall into the trap of looking back to what once was and contemplating how we could have done things differently and or over analyzing things. There's absolutely nothing wrong with looking at a situation or time in our life to see where we could ensure that we don't repeat unwanted behaviours and or outcomes, but it does become problematic when we start to dwell in our past! That is where we run the risk of falling into a cycle that robs us of the happiness of today along with progress in the future. In order for us to maintain focus and growth, we MUST pass the past!!
Have an awesome day everyone!!
Hey everyone and thanks for tuning in to episode 22! I am super excited about today's episode! I'll be talking about why "guilty pleasures" are different than excessive behaviours and why YOU SHOULD STOP calling them guilty. I WANT YOU TO INDULGE!!!! Enjoy and as always, I hope that you are having a phenomenal day!
Good morning everyone and welcome to episode 21 of Success after Excess!! Today's' topic is about being honest! Sometimes we play a part to sell the world on who we want it to think that we are. It can be for many reasons too. For me it was trying to pull the wool over people's eyes so to speak as I did;'t want the world to see who I really was! The fact of the matter was was that I thought I was doing a fab job when in reality, it was glaringly obvious that I was in trouble.
Another reason for honesty is to ensure that we are truly giving and receiving what we want from our relationships and out of our life. There is a HUGE difference between putting our best foot forward and masking our true nature, goal and or desires. It can be scary to be transparent however at the end of the day, it is the key to unlocking our own true happiness! Thank you for tuning in and have a great day!!
Welcome to episode 20!!!! Thank you for stopping in and tuning in to Success After Excess! Today I wanted to talk about motion and the powerful effect that it has on our emotion. This is something that I learned about from the incredible Tony Robbins.
It is truly amazing what we are able to make our bodies do and the strength our actions have on our state! For example, you tell yourself that you are sad and physically do things to encourage that emotion, it is amazing just how quickly you can take yourself there. Especially if it has become a regular pattern! The same can be said for any state so with that, if you want to change how you are feeling and get into a different state, then move your body! Get up and dance, do some jumping jacks, clap your hands, whatever works for you and I promise you'll feel a change. Once you start to become conscious of what you are doing physically to evoke certain states, it will become easier and easier for you to catch them and change them until before you know it, getting into the state that you desire, becomes like second nature!!
Good morning and welcome to episode 19! Today I wanted to talk about intentions and why it is so important to set them each day. Have you ever had one of those days where you say, wake up late and that is a catalyst for a domino effect that continues through the rest of your day? I know I have! They have never been pleasant and it easily becomes overwhelming, and very easy to give into negative thoughts and intentions.
If we start our day by setting the tone with positive intentions, it helps us avoid falling into a negative tone and makes it easy to reset our day if things do start to feel as though they are starting to go sideways. It also helps us be more positive and productive.
I hope that you find today's podcast insightful and helpful! Thank you for tuning in and I hope that you have an amazing day!!
Hello and welcome back to episode 18!!
Have you ever found yourself feeling as though there are just not enough hours in the day? Maybe you've even said it to yourself? I know that I have! I began to feel as though time was elusive... It was this ever moving thing that for whatever reason, I just could not utilize enough of.
After stumbling across a post, my notions around the concept of time started to change. I came to realize that my personal time management was just not suited to serve me very well! I got honest and acknowledged that I always had time for social media and my recorded tv shows however somehow never seemed to have time to work on some goals. The acknowledgement of that truth allowed me to start shifting my priorities so that I could start making the most of my time by making it far less elusive!
Thank you for tuning in today and have a fab one!!
Welcome to episode 17 everyone! Thanks for tuning in today!
Have you ever been learning something new, challenging yourself, working through something and at some point, find yourself becoming frustrated with the process and or with yourself? I know I have and honestly, there are times that I still do. There are many reasons why this happens for people and one of the best pieces of advice that I have been told, is to be gentle with yourself and kind to yourself!
Chances are very likely that you didn't get where you are today overnight and the same is true for where you want to go. Transitioning, recovery, change, growth and so all, all take time. It's all a process that involves progress over time so be easy with yourself and know that you have got this!! Even if it's minute by minute that you have to remind yourself! One step at a time... you ARE getting closer to where you want to be!!
Hey guys! Welcome back for episode 16 where we are talking about self care. We live in such a busy day and age and can easily become overwhelmed. Between work, house care, relationships, children, extra curricular activities, social media, etc it is not hard to see where we can become worn out and sometimes start wishing for a pause button!
With that, let's talk about taking a break and taking care of ourselves so that we can in turn better serve ourselves and the world around us!!
Welcome to episode 15 which is also part two to episode 14!!
This episode is all about PERMISSION!!! Stop waiting for the right time or the approval from someone close to you! You absolutely DO NOT NEED IT!!
This is YOUR life to live so live it passionately and do YOU according to YOU!!! You deserve it and you are worth it so go out there and get it!!
FINALLY!!!!!! Here we are with episode 11!! I am so grateful that I was able to work out the technical difficulties that I was having with this episode and get it up here for you guys!!
This episode is talking about the reality of gauging our success. It is so easy to look at other people, especially those with great success, and justify why they are where they are and why we may not be.
It was a quote that I had come across that sparked the idea for this podcast and the message was: You can't be disappointed with the results you didn't get from the effort that you didn't put in.
I hope that you're having an amazing day and as always, thank you for tuning in!!
Hey guys!! Kristen here from Success After Excess! Thank you for stopping by today!
Today's episode is part 1 of a two part series and episode 15 will tie things up tomorrow.
We are talking about stories today!! Stories are incredibly powerful... especially the stories that we tell ourselves. These stories are generally ones that have been ingrained in us from a very young age. Despite being able to find strength from these stories, in many cases, and very much in my own experience, these stories were loaded with limiting self beliefs, fear, doubt, self esteem killers and the lot. I know that by becoming aware of these stories, we are capable of not only proving them wrong, but rewriting OUR TRUE STORY!!
Welcome everyone! I was hoping to sort out lost episode 11, but alas, am still having difficulties with it. So here is episode 13 instead!
This episode is talking about the effects of being true to your word. In my past when I lived in excess and was limited by my own excessive behaviours, I was rarely true to my word. When I started to turn things around, it became apparent just how crucial this aspect was. Not only did it help keep me accountable, but it truly helped me to rebuild and repair relationships that I had damaged along the way. It allowed me to forge a path to trust with those that matter most to me, and helped me to trust myself!
Thank you for stopping by and I hope that you're having an incredible day!
Hello everyone and welcome to episode 12! You may be wondering what happened to number 11 and the long and short of it is... technical difficulties! I am hopeful that I will have them resolved soon enough to bring you number 11 by tomorrow. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
So as we skip ahead into this episode, I am talking about keeping a daily journal ,how it has impacted my life and why I KNOW IT WILL change YOURS!! As always, thank you for tuning in to Success After Excess and have a good one!
Welcome welcome welcome!!! Here we are for episode 10!!! It is straight to the point and one of my favourite reminders to catch myself when things have an opportunity to go south so to speak. Do you want to have an easy way to diffuse a disagreement? Perhaps in the heat of it all, you can feel the temperature rising and want a way to bite your tongue? Maybe it's a situation where there's a potential negative interaction between you and a complete stranger?! A simple little practice that I PROMISE will give HUGE bang for its buck, is to ask yourself this question....
Is it better to happy or to be right? Take a moment and give it some thought! If you do, keeping in mind that practice does wonders, you WILL be amazed with your results, the control that you will take back in your life as well as the improved quality of your mental and emotional states.
Thank you for tuning in and I hope that you have an amazing day!
Welcome back to Success After Excess! Thank you for tuning in to episode 9 where we talk about what may seem simple in concept, yet in the midst of excessive behaviours, can make for quite the battle ground!
The topic today is "I choose the behaviour, I choose the consequence." This is personally something that I at one point, couldn't even try to wrap my head around! I was far too busy justifying my poor choices, actions and or lack thereof. Looking back now though... it is incredible to witness the impact of one tiny little shift! I hope that you enjoy the episode and thank you all again for tuning in!
Hey everyone! Welcome to episode 8!!
Today I am talking about where we direct our focus. A big excessive behaviour that used to take up WAY TOO MUCH of my time, was trying to be the mater and commander of other peoples lives. I would put so much focus and energy into what I thought they should be, could be, would be and so on, without even realizing what kind of impact it was having on my life.
I've come to recognize the benefits of putting my talk to better use and am looking forward to sharing it with you!
Thank you all for tuning in, have a great day and we shall see you soon!!
Welcome to episode 7 guys and thank you for tuning in to Success After Excess today!
This one is very short and sweet! Value YOUR time and DO NOT be afraid to make others aware of its worth! Time is precious and extremely valuable! Use it wisely and ensure that you are using it the way that you want to, not the way that some in our life may try to dictate how you should be using it!
I hope that you guys are having an incredible day and I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
Hello everyone and welcome to episode 6!! When you are faced with adversity, what is your normal reaction? Do you have an onset of fear and or anxiety? Perhaps it creates some uncertainty in your life or maybe you shut down. Whatever your reaction to it is, I can guarantee that you are not alone in your thoughts and feelings! What I am talking about today is why you should ally with your adversities!!! I know it might sound crazy but I promise, you're going to love the why!
Thanks for tuning in and have a great day!!
Welcome back for episode 5!! So a HUGE behaviour that has caused major disruption in so many lives, is comparison. Today I am talking about the dangers of engaging in this behaviour. The danger to your self esteem, quality of life and ability to be fulfilled.
My key line to catching myself when it comes to this "buddy" popping up is
"Don't compare your insides with other people's outsides."
Thank you for tuning in today and I hope that you enjoy!
Welcome back for episode 4!! Thank you all for tuning in today!
In this podcast I am talking about the impact that shifting our focus and energy towards our strengths rather than using them to improve our "weaknesses".
I was introduced to this concept through one of my most regarded public figures and honestly, it was such a revelation for me, I couldn't wait to share it with you guys!
Enjoy and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this notion! Have an incredible day!
Patience is a virtue right?! Today, practicing patience is the hot topic! Thanks for tuning in and I hope that you enjoy!
In this episode I am talking about putting the measure of our own worth, in the hands of other people.
It is something that can easily happen to a person especially if there is struggle with self esteem and or if we are stuck in a caregiver/people pleasing role.
Welcome to my first episode of Success After Excess! Today I am talking about the start of my journey from excess to success! Thanks for tuning in and I look forward to seeing where we go from here!
