We're back, if only briefly, but certainly unexpectedly with a "poke our nose in" type pod.Not really much more to say. If we get enough engagement and desire on Twitter ('X' - for retards), we might do more in the future but I'm saying that without asking Martin or Terry. Anyway, please enjoy this helping of your favourite 'close-to-extinction podcast'.
We dive, once again into the world of boxing.
A final Christmas Special to end all specials. Martin and Terry breakdown the status quo of boxing and as usual give it all the subtlety of a punch in the nose!
Well, this is Andi writing and I'm retiring from the pod, leaving it to the pros. It was fun while it lasted but I'm finally done. Apologies for the insensitive and relentless swearing and thank you for all the years of listening interaction we had, I've appreciated every single listen. Gone are the days when I'd stay up to look for every single download location across the globe but I've loved the community we built together. It was an utter privilege and pleasure to be the host all these years but all good things must come to an end. I'm not one for big declarations or attention seeking, hence why I'm not "announcing this" on Twitter and for those of you that see this, a special thank you for taking the time to look at the show notes, but it's been fun and now I'm done. Thank you and goodnight.
Andi, Martin and Terry are together again, hot spoons and pant pulling down antics at the ready as they talk about boxing over zoom (oh the wonders of the internet) and despite Andi's insistence all these years that they do the podcast in the same room so that the quality is consistent and high, he doesn't point out once that the quality is naff and the internet cuts out halfway through! Eddie Hearn responds to claim he has gone back on his word about free tickets for NHS workers ahead of Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev. It read: “Matchroom Boxing will donate 200 tickets per event at our Saturday Fight Night and PPV shows to the brave front line NHS heroes fighting the coronavirus pandemic. The scheme will last for 12 months from when it is safe for boxing to resume.”
Hearn said as part of the statement: “We’ve been thinking about how we can say thank you to the incredible NHS workers that have selflessly helped everybody through this COVID-19 crisis.
“They’ve been absolutely amazing and from our side at Matchroom Boxing we are announcing a new scheme for when we get back to our live shows where we will be giving away 200 tickets to NHS workers for every Saturday Fight Night and PPV show around the country from hopefully this summer forward.
“We can’t thank you enough for all of your support. NHS workers, you have been absolutely incredible, and you are the pride of our country. Stay well everyone, stay safe, stay at home and we’ll get through this soon.”

It's been 2 and a half years of fun, laughs and epic friendship. A man walked into my kitchen whom I knew only from a unabashed message to my mate on Twitter..
Almost 3 years later I can say I have a friend for life..
Terry can be loud, proud, brazen and crazy on our podcast, but the man is much more than that. Terry Chapendama is a man with a big heart and a lot of love in it. He has more knowledge on boxing than I could ever hope to garner or glean and he has brought a dimension to the podcast that neither me or Martin could have ever brought to it.. He has made the journey up to London every week for what feels like forever and not once complained about it.. Most of all I feel like I've made a friend I could rely on through thin and thinner to be there for me. The guy is a legend and a legend I am thankful to have met, thank you Terry, for everything.
So, it is with regret we say goodbye to our friend.. Gone and never forgotten.. We love you Tel and good luck brother...

Once upon a time, there was a man who wanted to be a boxer, so he gave up dealing drugs and embarked on a career in boxing. One day he won a world championship when a bum came to town, he was SO bad and stupid, his shorts had to be sprayed on because he didn't know his size. Anyway, with his new championship he embarked on a quest to be a billionaire (because that was now really important for some reason and he decided he didn't really like boxing after all; he liked giving lectures in restaurants). One day another champion said "lets find out who is the best" and the champion said "only for LOTS of MONEY" (because, remember, THAT was the most important thing) and the other champion said "OK, I'll give you LOTS of money" and the champion said "No" because now money wasn't important for some reason. NOW, he wanted easy and fun fights, for a little bit of money doing boxing.
Along came a fat potato and this fat potato said "I'll fight you, but I want to take drugs too" "No way" said the champion, I'll fight an even BIGGER potato and so he did.. And the big fat potato said during the fight, "Do you like fighting?" and the champion said "Not really".. The potato then said "How important is the money?" and the champion said "Not this important.." The potato then said "Do you want it easy?" the champion said "Oh yes please.." and the potato said "Then just go to sleep.." and the champion slumped on the ropes and went to sleep..

That's right, after the amazing fight in LA, Fury has BRAVELY elected to fight the FEARED Tom Schwarz: SO FEARED that NO-ONE has even mentioned his name in regard to credible opponents in the heavyweight division in recent years through fear that he may appear out of fat air and lay one of his boobs on your head.
Meanwhile, Wilder has sought to show the world that he doesn't want to fight a bum! But he will fight a bloke who fights like a bum and also didn't manage to climb off his bum when he got in the ring with Joshua, because after AJ beat Breazeale, THE WORLD asked "Who else can beat Breazeale?" and so we waited...

Canelo finally answers the question of who is the best ever boxer in the history of the universe with his corrupt win over Golovkin after paying off all the judges to score him a win, after injecting a whole tub of steroid heroin.
Spike O'Sullivan silences his critics who thought he'd struggle against David Lemieux by not even managing to struggle and going down faster than Khan's missus on AJ. Prominent critics were heard to have said afterwards "I said he was shit, but now I feel sorry for him, I'm keeping quiet.." and "Fuck me, and I thought his moustache was bad!"

After a rather quiet weekend of boxing and with Martin trying on one of Andi's casual hats on after watching none of it, Terry takes the lead, Harvey's lead that is. A MASSIVE weekend of.......disappointing action. Like being told you're getting a truck load of ice cream only to find out that it's pistachio flavour! And if you're thinking "pistachio is nice" then 1) you're wrong and 2)it's also laced with some of that radioactive stuff that used on that Russian guy the other month. So, you going to eat it now?! Plus, it's in a lorry with no hygiene provisions, which I suppose it's kind of irrelevant given the poison..
ANYWAY, that story is far more interesting than anything that happened this week, except maybe Price getting knocked out standing up, but even that was a bit rubbish.

I wish I hadn't called last week a rant-fest now after this week! Wilder smashes Ortiz to solidify his world championship status. Josh Taylor fought Ohara Davies and it went a bit like this: Once upon a time there was a boy called Ohara. He was a boxer and everyone thought he was a brave super boxer with a bright future, but secretly, he'd always wanted to be a hedgehog. Then one day another bright boxer called Josh came along and he was really good too. When they got in the ring and started fighting, no matter what Ohara did, Josh was too good - magical. "That's it!" thought Ohara, "He'll have the powers to make my dreams come true." So Ohara threw a few more pointless punches, quietly asked Josh if he could do it and Josh smiled and said "Hedgeyoss Pricklyoss"! Ohara then magically curled up in a ball and said "I give up" and Josh won the fight.
....but if you want the Terry and Martin's version, you'll have to listen.
Fwank had a card on at the Copperbox, where the crowd was exclusively made up by ninjas and elite martial artists from around the world but oddly, they were dressed like fat, drunk guys from London - so weird.
The World Boxing Super Series was struggling to raise credibility for itself, only having every Cruiserweight Champion in the mix for the Ali trophy and having them hand pick each other in an eye to eye stage ceremony was making people ask 'Could this get any more boring?!'. It needed some....spectacle! LUCKILY Eubank Senior was there to add some much needed spectac........no wait, MONOCLE monocle
Not a massive amount going on this week, aside for a turgid NxtGen card - which Terry and Martin both refused to watch - so it was "decided" (enforced) that we'd do a listeners questions "special" (thank f*** we had enough to fill a whole podcast) podcast!
