Fill up your idle time in the car rider line with CCISD. This bi-weekly podcast dives deeper into a wide-range of educational news and resources with District leaders and area experts. This is an exciting time for students as they gear up to explore new possibilities through course selection for next school year. Course selection for 2024-2025 will be open from February 5-20. In this livestream session for incoming 9th grade parents, District experts talk through the selection process, new offerings, dual credit opportunities, Career and Technical Education and more. A Parent Information Night and Course Fair will also be held for incoming families at your zoned campus on February 13 at 6:30 p.m.

Research shows that providing a high-quality education for children before they turn five years old yields great medium- and long-term benefits for students.
In Clear Creek ISD early childhood education develops a lifelong love of learning and sets the foundation for the necessary cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development essential for future success. CCISD provides early learning opportunities for children who are four years old and as early as three years old for children with special needs through the Early Childhood Special Education Program.
These opportunities include:
- FREE PRE-KINDERGARTEN (PRE-K) PROGRAM: The Free Pre-K Program is an early learning program to prepare children for kindergarten who are identified as at risk. Pre-kindergarten provides learning to children who are four years old on or before September 1st. See below to find out how to qualify for the Free Pre-K Program.
- TUITION-BASED PRE-K: Tuition-based pre-kindergarten is an optional program for children whose parents want them to attend pre-kindergarten in Clear Creek ISD to prepare them for kindergarten. This program is offered based on space availability. Click here for the tuition-based pre-k interest form.
- EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION: The Early Childhood Special Education program meets the needs of students who are identified as needing special education services. The ECSE provides services to children beginning on their third birthday.
Not all elementary campuses offer a Pre-K program. Where your child attends Pre-K is based on your zoned elementary campus.
Click here to find your neighborhood elementary school. You must live within the district boundaries to attend CCISD schools or qualify under a residency affidavit or the McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Assistance Improvements Act of 2001.

Dual language programs in Clear Creek ISD offer students the unique opportunity to learn Spanish or English, depending on the student’s home language. Dual language programs are offered at five elementary schools as well as three intermediate schools to support the learning progression.
While Dual Language Two-Way programs are offered in select schools, enrollment in the program is open to students outside of those attendance boundaries based on space availability. This is an application only program. For the program to be effective, a class is balanced with both English and Spanish speakers.
English-speaking students may enter the Dual Language Program in either kindergarten or another grade level if they meet the entry criteria for that grade level.

Calling all 8th grade parents! Course registration for incoming 9th grade students is coming up in early February. Learn more about the process and what is offered in high school. A Parent Information Night & Course Fair will be held on Feb. 15 at your child's zoned high school to meet with staff and learn more about your campus. The course selection window opens on February 7-21 in Skyward.

February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month! CCISD offers robust CTE programming for students in 9th-12th grade and several courses for career exploration for students in 6th-8th grade. While reinforcing state and national academic standards, CTE courses provide exposure to and training in career areas of direct interest to the student. Students can apply now for next school year.

Remote conferencing is a new initiative in CCISD that will launch on September 7, 2021 to support the continuation of learning for students who are home temporarily due to a medical condition, illness, COVID-19 or quarantine. Remote conferencing will be available for core subjects in all grade levels based on an hourly program schedule. More information will be sent out to families this week.

In response to COVID-19, Clear Creek ISD will offer synchronous and asynchronous virtual instruction for students in grades K-6 starting September 7. Enrollment is required and closes on August 28. District leaders discuss this option in detail to help families make a decision.

Clear Horizons Early College High School, a CCISD school of choice, was established in 2007 on the South Campus of San Jacinto College to provide opportunities to student populations who are traditionally underrepresented in higher education environments. CHECHS students graduate from San Jac with an associate degree and from Clear Creek ISD with a high school diploma with endorsements.
Incoming 9th grade students can apply for a spot in the lottery selection for the following school year beginning each January.

Getting them involved in the Clear Creek ISD Science and Engineering Fair and the Science Magnet Program at Brookside Intermediate and Seabrook Intermediate might be a great fit! In this episode, the Science Magnet liaisons, elementary science coordinator and an intermediate science teacher talk through the Science Fair process for students in grades K-12 and give tips on ways to ignite inspiration. Host Elaina Polsen sits down with CCISD Counseling and Guidance Coordinator Dava West, Principal Monica Speaks of Clear View High School, and Coalition Manager Amanda McLauchlin for the Bay Area Alliance for Youth and Families to talk through the signs parents and teachers can look for in students and tips on how to combat this behavior by instilling a sense of empowerment and empathy from within. They also give examples of what some of our campuses, such as Clear View, are already doing help.
