Pete Bromley has been Stoke On Trent's top House DJ since 1989 and it has been an interesting and varied journey for him! Resident DJ at Stoke's first successful Underground Dance night 'Introspective' back in 1989 he went on to play at the infamous Shelleys Laserdome as well as other influential clubnights across the UK. Pete's next residency was to be at the Freetown in Hanley which would see him play alongside DJ's like Sasha & Dave Seaman. This would become the stepping stone to his next residency, the legendary Golden. Pete was the main resident DJ at Golden for an amazing 11 years which saw him play with the worlds biggest DJ's bar none. During this time he played many guest appearances at places such as Cream, Renaissance, Ministry Of Sound and DJ magazine listed him as one of the most popular resident DJ's in the world, resulting in his Essential Mix live on Radio 1 alongside Pete Tong at Sankeys in 1996. Quite an accolade seeing as he has never bolstered his career with international gigs, remixes or a recording career as 99% of producer/DJ's do these days. After Golden's demise IN 2003, Pete then went on to become one of the resident DJ's at Satchmo's which has now become part of Stoke clubbing folkelore and his position has been cemented over the last years as resident DJ for the Move and their parties at The Sugarmill, Spode Warehouse & The Underground playing alongside Jamie Jones, Patrick Topping, Solardo, Skream, Annie Mac, Derrick Carter, Pete Tong, MK, Todd Terry, Seth Troxler, The Martinez Brothers, Steve Lawler, Hot Since 82, Eats Everything, Darius Syrossian, Detlef, Latmun, Richy Ahmed, Micheal Bibi, Rich NXT, Jacky, Heidi,Alan Fitzpatrick, wAFF, Dimitri From Paris, Kenny Dope amongst dozens of House musics elite. You can catch Pete at Move events @ The Sugarmill/Underground, Hanley, Stoke On Trent to see for yourself why he's been at the top of his game for all these years and still going strong!
In 2001 Golden residents Pete Bromley & Dean Wilson went to Heathmans Studios in London to record a 3xCD trance anthems comp for Ministry Of Sound.
Some changes with the label resulted in the release never seeing the light of day until now.
Pete & Dean did a CD each and a 3rd one playing back to back - all live on vinyl !

On Bank Holiday 2/5/04 I played my very first retro house event for Reckless @ Satchmos, Stoke-On-Trent. This was the first time I had properly looked back to the amazing tracks that shaped my club DJ career at Shelleys,Introspective, Freetown & early Golden days. A two hour set was recorded live on vinyl on 3 decks and 100 CD packs were sold after the event. This is the first time it was been available as a digital file.

Here is Pete's promo mix to mark this historic event for the city.
Ironically in 1990, Pete got arrested DJing at Stoke's first Illegal warehouse party at the tender age of 19 but said he learnt his lesson when they also locked up his soundsystem and records ;-)
In the summer of 1986 I first heard "Jack Your Body" aged 15. This track instantly changed the way I bought records, looking for anything with the word "House" "Chicago" or "Jacking" written on them from there on.
As Steve's productions became more polished around 1990, they were a big part of my sets at the Freetown and the early days at Golden.
Here is a 30 min mini-mix that i threw together one night (live on vinyl) to showcase some of my personal favourites from this period.
PS - The pic shown is the promo ad that was in my local record store that I have kept since 1986 !
This was a Ltd CD given to the first 250 clubbers through the door on the Golden 25th Anniversary 1/4/17

Here is a rare live recording of Pete live on vinyl in 91 taken from a cassette that was stored in his loft for many years.
In 1990-1992 Pete was resident for Juice @ The Freetown Club in Hanley, Stoke-On-Trent alongside his then DJ partner Kelvin Andrews every Saturday which was the forerunner to Pete's 11 year residency at the superclub Golden.
The mix heavily features tracks from U.S. producers from the likes of David Morales, Steve Silk Hurley, Maters At Work, Armando, Arthur Baker, Tyree, C&C Music Factory, Kevin Saunderson, Underground Resistance & Komix as well as many great UK productions from this fantastic era.
Recorded live at the Sugarmill on 30/7/16 - here is Pete Bromley delivering the anthems that rocked the Satchmo's dancefloor on a weekly basis. Enjoy !

The great thing about real DJ's is that it's impossible to pigeon hole them musically. Ask any real DJ about a genre of music that you don't necessarily associate them with and they'll happily talk for hours in detail about said genre as if that was what they solely played, week in, week out. This is becoming increasingly rare in todays club scene as it appears to be the DJ/producers that rule the roost, but thankfully, the cream of the crop will always rise to the top and become the DJ's DJ. Stoke on Trent is no different and Pete Bromley is exactly that guy. Ask any self respecting local DJ or burgeoning producer coming through and they will all tell you that Pete Bromley has played a part in their musical education and is second to none locally judging on his thirst for music, particularly vinyl.
Albeit Pete is predominantly known as THE number 1 House music DJ in Stoke on Trent, his passions lie much deeper and wider. An enormous Disco, Electro, Soul & Boogie collection can only be rivalled by his fascination for his childhood love affair with rock & pop from the 70's & 80's.
Pete for many years now has been playing alongside DJ's and producers such as Greg Wilson, Late Nite Tuff Guy, Alfredo, Norman Jay and Crazy P dropping his choice cuts and edits of music genres that really represent where his heart lies which all happen to be in the melting pot that house music derives from.
Blue Collar Disco is the platform for putting on events that offer DJ's the chance to showcase their music and edits that they may not be able to play on a regular house and techno night for whatever reasons.
Intimate parties for those seeking a true disco vibe.
Catch Pete at these upcoming Blue Collar Discos:
15th October 2016: Crazy P Soundsystem 12th November 2016: Greg Wilson
Classic House mix from 2005 to promote the legendary Reckless @ Satchmo's - Glass Street, Hanley, Stoke-On-Trent, Stafforshire, UK.

The Dj world is a very different one from that of 25 years ago. If you've seen any one of the thousands of social media arguments about vinyl v digital DJs or self taught v music schooled you'll know that there's a huge divide between the 'then' and 'now' world of DJs.
There's a select number of DJs out there that have managed to stay at the top of their respective scenes and it hasn't been a question of embracing technology or spending a fortune on a marketing team, it's been about being the real deal. Nowadays to the untrained eye/ear you can fake being a real Dj. For those that know; you can't.
Pete Bromley is riding the top wave of house music and has done for nearly 3 decades. A mix of dedication, thirst, ability, confidence and above all love for the music has kept him there without the help of some fancy pants marketing/management team ploughing tens of thousands of pounds into a product (not person) to get hundreds of thousands in return. He has a unique standing where he is loved and respected by 'real' DJs, whether they be new, young, old or established because they can see/hear that he is 'real' also.
Here's Petes latest mix of tracks that he'll be playing at The Move Sugarmill parties over Xmas and new year. This year has seen him play alongside Steve Lawler, Huxley, The Martinez Bros, Detroit Swindle, Kenny Dope, Darius Syrossian, Dimitri From Paris, Todd Terry and Heidi to name but a few...
Bring on 2016! First up is 30th Jan with Patrick Topping.
Once again cementing his position as Stoke on Trent's number 1 DJ for the 26th consecutive year, Pete Bromley shows no sign of slowing down. His sets over the past 4 years at The Move have the whole city talking again, just as they were all those years ago. Preferred over the guests by many of the dancefloor, Pete has that unique skill of delivering the exact right music at the exact right time which is one of the secrets of his success. His latest delivery showcases what's hot in Pete's box at the moment and why his peak time sets at The Move are so popular. Playing alongside diverse guests such as Huxley, Steve Lawler, Kenny Dope, Eats Everything, wAFF, Kevin Saunderson, Seth Troxler, Heidi, Derrick Carter, Greg Wilson and Andrea Oliva just goes to show his versatility and experience when it comes to controlling the dancefloor. Press play and enjoy, the weekend is just around the corner ;)
Here is my new mix to take you into 2015.. What a great year It's been with many sellout gigs supporting some of the scenes A list DJs.
As ever this mix is pumping peak time house, tech and techno as tried and tested on the Move! dancefloors..
Thanks to everyone for their continued support on the dancefloor and special thanks to Lee and Matt for being great guys to work alongside.
Pete :)
There are only a handful of DJ's/producers that I get to play with that I can say i'm a true fan of. Yes, I play alongside lots of DJ's who's music & productions I admire but on being told I was to dj with Brooklyn based NY house don Victor Simonelli, well... I began to sort through his remixes & productions and put them together in a DJ mix to illustrate the massive impact he's had on house music and myself in particular,as a DJ. Victor is one of the originators of a specific house sound that was a big influence on my own style in the early 90's,a time when he was on fire. Along with guys like Masters @ Work, Todd Terry, Steve Silk Hurley, Tommy Musto & Roger Sanchez,Victor has that classy soulful house sound with a hypnotic groove that puts him up there with those legends. House music has become a multi million dollar world wide phenomena and it's thanks to guys like VIctor that I'm still loving it nearly 30 years later! Join us on Saturday 18th October at 'Back In The Day' at The Exchange Stoke On Trent for a night of old skool 90's house & garage grooves with Victor Simonelli as our very special guest. An intimate party for 200 of our friends & followers so please arrive early x
There is no other DJ in Stoke on Trent that has played a bigger part in the local house music scene than Pete Bromley. For the last 25 years Pete has been Stokes number 1 DJ and resident at pretty much every major club night the city has seen. His vinyl collection is legendary and it is from this that he will be selecting the finest cuts of Stoke anthems for your pleasure on this special one off appearance for Back In the Day.
Excited is an understatement!
Supported by BITD residents D.j. Mike Worth & Nick Stockley, this is set to be a special event indeed!

Here is a rare live recording of Pete Bromley live @ the Void - Hanley Stoke-On-Trent in September 2000 playing deep tech/deep trance/tribal house and does not sound too dissimilar to his current Move Live sets at the Sugarmill.
This captures one of his famous pre 12 O'Clock Warm Up sets played regularly to 1000+ clubbers!
This was one of Pete's most successful years with his weekly resindency @ Golden, monthly guest @ Zillion in Antwerp, The dance tent @ V2000 Staffordshire & Chelmsford and well as many guest spots up & down the UK highlighted when playing peak time in the Golden tent @ Creamfields 2000 to a 10,000 strong capacity crowd.

Most DJ mixes build, take you on a journey or craft a soundscape of the DJ's musical tastes which are then shared with an audience. This mix is none of the above. This mix is a momento. It's 78 minutes of all the big tracks, anthems, 'best of' and most memorable records that have graced the dancefloor at The Move at Fat Cat over the last 2 years. Hopefully it will evoke some great memories and will become a marker in time should you decide to dig it out in years to come and play it loud to remember the fantastic parties we had with the likes of wAFF, Marshall Jefferson, PBR Streetgang, Clive Henry, Waifs & Strays, Hot Toddy, Luke Solomon and loads more guests alongside my fellow residents Lee Fredericks & Matt Erst.
This is my new live house mix from a selection some of my favourite trax from 2012 taking it into 2013 as played on the monthly "Move" nights @ Fatcat Stoke-On-Trent
