Both talk about their experiences with becoming a first time mum in a pandemic, what they've missed out on but also where they have found silver linings! This week’s episode is a stonker and I think you are going to love it! Bex, aka mother of one and author of Mums the Word – The Sh*t nobody tells you until its too late (which you can buy on amazon here!). Her book is a super funny, honest A-Z of real motherhood, it had me in stitches and at some times feeling all emotional.

For the episode I asked her to pick 5 topics from the book to share them with you guys! We talk all about feelings of underwhelm, our feelings about our bodies, judgement, baby brain (although as I argue in the episode toddler brain is worse?!) and that feeling of loosing yourself in motherhood. I am sure there is going to be A LOT of nodding along with this episode so please check it out and give Bex a follow in the meantime!

When I started up the podcast so many people wanted there to be an open discussion about how relationships change after having children - so who better to talk about it with than my own husband. We talk about our journey to have Skye, how long it took us to bond as a family and what we love about each others parenting styles.

Also the Patreon is going strong so please don't forget to sign up for loads of additional Navigating the Motherhood content!! Link is below:

In this episode we talk all about her experiences of being a young mum, the stigmas which she has come up against, how she has felt trying to fit into the mum community in real life and online and about how her experiences of motherhood have differed from my own. I think we can all take alot from this episode about how we treat all mothers and I really hope you find it a useful listen!

This weeks episode is with the awesome Beth (@Betheveline). Beth is a mum of one to Nom (not short for nomstopher - if you listen to the episode you will understand!) and is also one half of the dynamic duo that is Yellow Sunday Digital (@yellowsundaydigital - https://yellowsundaydigital.co.uk/).

In this episode we talk all about sharing our journeys of motherhood online (aka - Sharenting). Beth talks about the decision to not show her sons name or face online and I talk about my changing experiences with sharing Skye, including why I started 'sharenting' in the first place. This episode is all about different perspectives, there is no wrong or right answers its all about finding what you are comfortable with - but in doing that there are some really interesting discussions to be had!

I also speak about some articles I read in preparation for this episode and you can find those links here:

My guest in episode one is Abi Richards (@abilourichards), an Instagram friend and mother one Teddy who is 18 months old. She is also the founder of @sunburntisntfunny on Instagram where she talks about her experience with skin cancer and the importance of protecting yourself in the sun!

In this episode we talk about what we expected from motherhood and the reality, the good and the bad. We talk about what type of mothers we wished we would be, (RIP my dream of being a pintrest mum), why we think you should learn more about babies sleep before you have a kid and why Abi found weaning the most underwhelming part of motherhood so far.

I can’t thank Abi enough for her openness and honesty in this episode and I hope you enjoy listening!
