Bryan Fischer here with Today’s Life and Liberty Minute. One of the brilliant things the Founders did in the Constitution was to reserve all powers of action to the states that are not explicitly given to the federal government. Rather than dictating to the states, President Trump has wisely deferred to governors the decision about how soon and how fast to reopen their states. We will now have two races to watch among our governors - the race to the top and the race to the bottom. Some governors will take the lead in opening their states up, like Governor Brian Kemp of Georgia. He’s being chased by the governors of South Carolina and Florida. And then there’s the race to the bottom, to see which governor will keep his people locked down the longest and be the slowest to set them free. I don’t know about you, but I know which race I want my governor to win.
