The Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) Youth Choir is made up of 50 singers from secondary schools all over the South East. Singing from their own homes, they've performed a song called "North" by the band Sleeping at Last, which was then put together by their conductor Niall Crowley. Waterford native Deevy was considered one of the most important Irish playwrights of her time, and has seen something of a resurrection in recent times with her plays being shown again in Waterford and further afield. Her subject matter was sometimes seen too controversial to be staged, something that Una Kealy of the School of Humanities at WIT will discuss in her online lecture at 2.30pm on Wednesday May 13th, as part of the Bealtaine Festival with the libraries.

Nicola, a well known Waterford actor, wrote this play which will be staged at Garter Lane on March 20th and 21st. Directed by Ben Quinlan, it tells the story of a group of school friends who meet at different stages of their lives.

This initiative marks the beginning of a collaboration between Waterford Lions Club and the BA (Hons) Music programme at WIT. The bursary was created as an acknowledgement of the contribution of the O'Carroll family and particularly Dr. Kevin O'Carroll to the Waterford Lions Club Christmas Carol Concert for the past 30 years. The award includes a bespoke trophy based on a design by composer and musician Fintan O'Carroll and a bursary of €500. The inaugral recipient was Luke Donnelly. Mary was joined by Luke, along with Tony Ruane from The Lions Club and Dr Hazel Farrell from WIT .

Gar Campion, a character created by Tony Kelly, is "The Hurler." He's already appeared on screen and now audiences are invited to see Gar on stage at Garter Lane from March 5th to 7th. Tony collaborated with playwright Pat Daly for this production, which is under the direction of Jim Nolan. Jim and and Tony joined Mary in studio.

This year the Women's Centre is celebrating 25 years working with women in Waterford with a number of events from the 3rd-8th March. One of the events is the dedication of a Civic Trust Blue Plaque to the Daly family who provided a café for homeless men at number 5 Arundel Lane from 1911 - 1982. When attempts to evict the sisters Mai and Debbie were made in 1971 the Waterford community came out to support and stop the eviction of the sisters. Mary was joined in studio by Breda Murphy of the Waterford Women's Centre, Breda Freyne, a neice of the Daly Sisters, and Eleanor Murphy of The Women's Centre History Project.

Tramore-based Ronan wrote the play through his production company Broken Crow. "Blackwater Babble" is directed by Waterford's Joe Meagher and stars Cork actors Gary Murphy and John McCarthy. Katie Halpin-Hill and Riain Ó Donnchú, who are members of Dún Garbhán le Gaeilge have teamed up to form Féile Ealaíne Péacóg. It will run at various locations from November 23rd to 30th. The pair, who are Leaving Cert students, joined Mary in studio.

A night of music and storytelling is promised when members of the renowned musical family the Clancys take to the stage at Theatre Royal. Róisín Clancy (son of Bobby,) Dónal Clancy (son of Liam) musician cousin Evan Grace and Welsh actor/musician Ryland Teifi will perform on an intimate stage setting designed to look like an Irish kitchen in days of yore. Sheila, who hails from Blackwater in Wexford but has strong Waterford connections, previously brought out a digital book, "Mending Lace," which has since had hard copy publication. "Kilbride House" is a work of historical fiction and is partially set on the Dingle Peninsula. She outlines her influences to Mary "On the Fringe."

The Design Challenge project is a design-led research collaboration between WIT’s Creativity & Culture Research Group and main project partners Waterford City and County Council and Garter Lane Arts Centre, together with support from Local Enterprise Office, Institute of Designers in Ireland, Design and Craft Council of Ireland, Creative Ireland, community groups, design industry and local enterprise. Joxer Daly was originally a character from the Seán O'Casey play "Juno and the Paycock," and he's been brought back to life by Eddie Naughton in the play "Joxer Daly Esq."
