Si introduces Elliot to continue our teaching series called song stories looking at the song King of hope by Zo Ross-Waddell. Elliot explains how this song is based on Romans 15:13, showing that true hope is based on Jesus’s Humanity, Humility and resurrection.
Alex continues our teaching series called song stories looking at the song Cornerstone. Though the bible references links to the lyrics of this song, he invites us to make Jesus our solid foundation in our lives; a cornerstone so that our live are true and straight and an the anchor in the storm.
Annie continues our teaching series called song stories and looks at the song 'Gardens to Garden' by Brendon Lake. Here she explores the foundation of the song that God is still in the business of bringing life and transformation to things that look dead and hopeless and he can still work in situations that appear beyond repair.
Joshua continues our teaching series called song stories and helps us understand what we really mean when we sing 'Nothing but the Blood of Jesus'. By looking at Paul's letter to the Hebrews (Hebrews 9:11-28), Joshua explains that the blood of Jesus was the only way that the consequence of our sins can be payed so that our relationship with God can be restored.
Starting off our new teaching series called ‘Song Stories', Nathan and Phoebe will be looking at the hymn 'It is well with by soul' by Horatio Spafford. Here they explore how the song was inspired by the death of Haratio's four young children in a maritime accident. They look at how this song give them comfort at the tragic loss of their own baby daughter, Viola. Nathan goes on to say that our 'inner wellness’ is not found in our circumstances but found in Jesus.
Chris concludes our teaching series on ‘Hunger for God’ by looking at the importance of building our lives on the truths revealed in the bible, anything else is a vanity project and it will come to nothing.
Our teaching series on ‘Hunger for God’ continues with a look at healing. We live in a world where miracles simply should not happen, and yet sometimes they do. Si helps us understand that there are times we have to say, ‘Only God could do that!’.
Here we welcome Terry Virgo (one of the Founders of New Frontiers) to continue our teaching series on Hungry for God. Terry shows through the book of Acts interweaved with his own personal story that the Holy Sprit is available to to all Christians, we only need to ask.
Here we welcome Justine Sweeney from Maine, USA to continue our teaching series on Hungry for God. Justine digs into Psalm 119 verses 9-16 showing us that the purpose of scripture is not merely that we would know more about God, but that we would know God.
Si continues our teaching series on Hunger for God. In part 5 of this series he shows us that prayer is about presence not performance and in that presence we find fullness of joy. He uses Matthew 6:5-8 to show three key things here that Jesus is wanting to teach us about prayer, these being: what you say, where you are, and what is seen.

Si’s speaks in this episode with Dave McNee (a former Elder at Life Chuch, who now leads in Grace Church, in Salisbury) as return from meeting 500 other chuch leaders at the European Leadership Forum, in Poland. Dave reflects how, though we might come from all sorts of different backgrounds, different ministries and different cultures we are all part of a big team that hsa the same heart to tell the world about Jesus, and see the church grow and flourish.

In part 2 of this series, her emphasises that every human heart is already deeply hungry for God, but we constantly stumble by trying to fill that inner void with worldly things that can never truly satisfy us. But in all of these things, we're lacking intimacy with God himself.
Chris starts our new teaching series on Hungry of God. Chris shows use three important things form the story of famous Daniel in the lions den (Daniel Chapter 6) about prayer. these being: Prayer is warfare, Prayer should be a priority, and prayer is power. Chris asks us to think of a time and place in our (that works for us) where we can spend time with God in prayer.
What if the greatest battle you’re facing is one you barely realise is happening? In this message, Howard speaks of the unseen spiritual battle shaping our lives. Drawing on real stories from the persecuted church around the world, we see a striking contrast: while many face open hostility and hardship, our battle often looks like distraction, comfort, and quiet drift. This is a call to stand strong, to “put on the full armour of God,” and to rediscover the power of prayer, truth, and community.
In this message, Nathan continues are teaching series on Ephesians, looking at Chapter 6 verses 1-6. He addresses a universal human tendency where pride and self-centredness leads us to subconsciously elevate ourselves while lowering or pushing others down and contrasts this with the "loving servanthood" of Jesus, who humbled himself to serve others and provides the perfect pattern for all Christian relationships. He specifically applies this to families by calling fathers to use their authority to lift up and lead their children toward God, while encouraging children to honour and obey their parents as an act of submission to the Lord. He also notes that this struggle with pride extends to the workplace, warning that employers must be careful not to misuse their authority and should instead use their influence to serve and do good to those they lead.

Si Explains that this passage marks the start of a new section that describes three relationships that are impacted by this new way of living that he's been teaching us about in this book of Ephesians. He starts, by looking at how the authority and submission of husbands and wives. He shows us that we are all made in the image of God, we hold equal worth, value and dignity. And that any authority we have is delegated and characterised by self-sacrificing service.

Annie explains that our behaviours are like "spiritual clothes" that we wear, and she encourages believers to throw away "filthy garments" like anger and bitterness in favour of the new wardrobe God provides hat matches the internal transformation God has worked in us.

Looking at Chapter 3 verses 14-21 he explores this by giving us five names, four ways to think about who you really are, three impossible things about love and two ways to live. He then concludes this by giving us one choice and an that is, "Do you continue living as a ruler and God of your own life or do you want to submit your life to Jesus Christ?"
In this message, Nathan continues are teaching series on Ephesians. Using a fun 'What's in the box' game he reveals the mystery of God's eternal plan from Ephesians 3 being the church. This is dramatically illustrated as a multicoloured cloak. He explains that the church as a multi-racial, multi-cultural community with It's members come from a wide range of colourful backgrounds. Its diversity and harmony are unique. It is God’s new society. And the many-coloured fellowship of the church is a reflection of the many-coloured wisdom of God.

Si explains that in Jewish society access to God (as illustrated is the various parts of the temple) was restricted by who you were (priests, men, women and gentiles). In this message, Abigail continues are teaching series on Ephesians, and walks us through the first 10 verses of Chapter 2. Here she begins by looking at our "before" state, describing everyone as being spiritually dead and trapped in a cycle of following the world's messy ways. Then focuses on the life-changing "but God" moment, where His immense grace and love moved Him to rescue us and make us alive in Christ giving us a brand-new status, seated with Jesus in a position of honour in the heavenly realms.
In this message, Chris continues our teaching series on the book of Ephesians, focusing on Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 1:15-23, presenting it as a model for us to live in constant dependence on God’s absolute sovereignty. Chris describes Paul's style of prayer as "incessant, persistent, and humble," urging us to seek God's guidance and permission for every decision in their lives. He concludes by stating that the goal of such prayer is to know God better, moving beyond intellectual facts to a deep, intimate relationship that understands the depth of Christ's love and authority.

In this message, Nathan introduces a new teaching series on the book of Ephesians, and urges the church to read the letter slowly and repeatedly so that God’s word can "dwell in them richly" and transform their lives. He takes the church on a overview of the massive spiritual blessings found in Ephesians 1, such as being chosen, adopted as God's children, and forgiven.He then emphasises that these blessings are only possible because we are "in Christ," a concept explained through simple metaphors like being a branch rooted in a tree or a passenger safe inside a plane heading to its destination.
In this message, Si uses the story of Mary pouring a whole year’s wages worth of perfume on Jesus' feet in John 12 to show us what we treasure most. Money often reveals our true heart motives—whether we are moved by the extravagant love shown by Mary or the self-interested motives shown by Judas.
As part of our CAP (Christian against Poverty) Sunday we welcome Duncan House from Southampton Christian Mission to speak to us about how Jesus priorizies the poor and marginalised. He urging use to recognize their global privilege and intentionally live out kingdom values to support those struggling with debt, isolation, and spiritual need.

In this message, Michael explores the deep connection between the Trinity and Christmas, demonstrating how the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit each function in distinct ways in the Christmas story. It contrasts worldly traditions—such as a merit-based "Santa" and a conjured holiday "spirit"—with the biblical Father who remains faithful to the faithless and the Holy Spirit who leads believers to glorify God. Finally, the speaker concludes that Jesus is the only gift capable of fixing human brokenness, as He bore the cost of sin to provide a purposeful connection to God that material things cannot offer.

In this message Si continues the Trinity series by focusing on the Holy Spirit, explaining He is a person who is fully God and is received as a free gift by all believers. The Spirit is the giver of spiritual gifts to build up the church, and warns us against being fearful, flippant, or formulaic in our approach to Him. We are instead encouraged to approach the Holy Spirit humbly, honestly, and wholly to experience the love of God and partner with Him in our lives.
This week, guest speaker Ben Welchman from City Church Bristol continued our series on the Trinity, exploring Jesus’ words, “I and the Father are one.” Jesus wasn’t just claiming to be close to God—He was revealing that He and the Father share the same divine nature: one true God, revealed as Father, Son, and Spirit, who calls us to know Him personally.
Nathan has just joined the Life Church staff as a ‘Staff Elder’. His role has grown since it was first advertised as Children and Youth Coordinator. Joshua unpacks Philippians 2 to show how Jesus — fully God and fully human — reveals the heart of the Trinity. Christ’s humility isn’t just theology; it’s the self-giving love that saves us and shapes how we live in unity and worship today.
This week, our Trinity series focuses on the Son: Jesus Christ. The message tackles the essential truth of the hypostatic union: Jesus must be 100% God and 100% man simultaneously. If He is any less, His sacrifice would not be effective. Because He is fully God, His death offers the "God-sized solution" required for our sin. Because He is fully human, He is a sympathetic Saviour "acquainted with our suffering." This dual nature is the only basis for secure salvation.
From New York Si shares stories from visits to different churches in the area, encounters with strangers at home and abroad, prayer and bold expressions of devotion.
Our focus here is on the baptism of Jesus and how this unique moment teaches us about the very nature of God, as all three members of the Trinity are revealed. This Sunday included a number of baptisms. Chris explains the meaning of baptism and why we celebrate such occasions to this day.
Drawing from John 14, we see how the Father, Son, and Spirit work together so that God Himself makes His home within us. Through Jesus’s death and resurrection, the gap between heaven and earth is gone. The Trinity is not a mystery to solve, it is the Gospel itself: God coming near so eternal life with Him begins now.
God eternally exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—distinct yet one—living in perfect love and glory. Out of that love He created us and calls us to know Him, worship Him, and join Him in fellowship.
God the Father gives us life, adopts us into His family through Christ, and lovingly shapes and disciplines us so we become like Jesus.
We all have ideas about God—and those ideas shape how we live. Knowing Him as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit brings our lives into alignment with the reality we were created for, while false ideas can cause harm. In the opening message of our new series, Si Munsie shows that exploring the mystery of the Trinity may be challenging, but it’s a pursuit worth every step as we come to know and worship the one God who reveals Himself as one being, in three persons.
Self-control is listed as the last fruit of the Spirit. Drawing on examples from Paul, Joseph, David, and Jesus, this message shows that self-control both protects us from sin and empowers us to choose what is right. If we feel out of control, the Holy Spirit can help find the freedom and control that Christ provides.

It’s Easter Sunday — Jesus is risen! This message asks whether anything else explain these seemingly impossible events, or are we left with the undeniable miracle of His resurrection?
In this message, we reflect on Good Friday and the harrowing events surrounding Jesus’ crucifixion. We recall all that He suffered, considering at least twelve extraordinary acts accomplished on our behalf through His death and resurrection.
This sermon focuses on three acts of "laying things down": a woman's extravagant offering of perfume signifying Jesus' worth, Jesus' willing sacrifice of his body for a new covenant during the Passover meal, and his submission to God's will regarding the crucifixion. Jon, encourages us to consider what we value most, to remember Jesus' sacrifice and to reflect on where we are submitting our own will to God's.
Sunday marked the formal transition of leadership at Life Church, as Chris Kilby passes the role to Si Munsie. We are deeply grateful to Chris and Jo for their faithful, devoted, and fruitful service as followers of Jesus.
In this message Chris reminds us he will remain an elder at Life Church, focussing on pastoral care and evangelism, but also broaden his involvement in southern catholic Europe as he steps down from his current senior leadership role. Speaking from 1 Timothy he offers seven exhortations from Paul to Timothy to continue to lead and build church well.
When Jesus overturned the tables in the temple, it wasn't an act of uncontrolled rage. Rather, He demonstrated that no one should be excluded from encountering their Father in Heaven — a truth He would confirm once and for all through His death and resurrection.
Jesus seems to face many interruptions while fulfilling His ministry. How do we respond to the apparent interruptions in our own lives? Do we see them as obstacles to our plans—or even to God’s plans—or as opportunities to receive and demonstrate grace?
Instead of arguing like Jesus' disciples about who was greatest, little children came to Jesus in humility simply to receive. Guest Speaker, Becky Peacock, helps us to take the same approach.
Up a mountain with Peter, James and John Jesus' face shone like the sun and his clothes became as white as the light. A cloud envelops Jesus and God speaks saying, 'This is my son, whom I love. Listen to Him.'. This is the call of every disciple, to listen Him and walk in daily obedience.
Jesus' disciples are challenged by the question, ‘Who do you say I am?’. It is here that Jesus reveals that suffering that awaits him, and the costs and rewards for those who take up their cross and follow him. When the disciples witnessed Jesus walk on water and calm a storm they were ‘amazed’. They had not yet understood just who Jesus is. This message helps us to see Jesus clearly through the events of Mark 6.
In this section of Mark’s gospel, both the miraculous feeding of the 5000 and the 4000 feature. Bread is referred to often. As we read it becomes clear that Jesus himself, the Bread of life, is the one who sustains our life, spirituality and mission as follows of Christ.
Through the events recorded in Mark 5 we see that Jesus will go out of His way to meet us. When we hear Jesus, we can believe Him. His is the only voice to follow.
From Mark 3, Nathan highlights two key lessons Jesus' first disciples learned. First, Jesus chose them, not because they 'qualified', but because He wanted them. Second, they became a new family.
Jesus has given authority to us, his disciples. The church should be known today for the same things as Jesus' early followers - preaching the word of God and seeing regular signs and wonders, including the sick being healed.
In this series introduction we learn that Mark's gospel account is direct and to the point, beginning with its opening statement that Jesus is the 'Son of God'. We see that the Kingdom of God is at hand - not a place, but a person whom every disciple is called to follow into endless adventure.
Jesus made that claim, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’ In this message we look at the many times the Bible talks about the arrival of an unending light in a world of darkness. Can Jesus really be the light to end all darkness? Christmas is a time to celebrate all that is light.
The birth of Jesus is a beacon of hope, a light shining in the darkness. This Christmas, we celebrate that light and the promise of joy and peace that it brings, even in the darkest of times.
There are so many things that keep us busy at Christmas. Annie encourages us to reflect on the simplicity of the circumstances surrounding the arrival of the most significant person in human history, and the simple invitation He makes to us - to come to Him and find peace and rest.

Elders are called to do these things, not because they have too, nor for personal gain, nor to be controlling of others - but in humility as an example to others, and for the unfading reward of our chief Shepherd. As Peter sums up his main points, Si helps us to see how we relate to God in practical terms and how we resist a very real enemy.
1 Peter 4:12-19 encourages believers to rejoice in their sufferings, recognizing that they are sharing in Christ's sufferings and reminding them to commit to continuing to do good. We are reminded that it is the Holy Spirit who will enable us to do so.
Peter's encouragement to the church is to continue in love and service to one another, that God may be glorified - something that is only made possible in the strength and grace which we have received in Jesus.
In Christ, we are now made alive in the Holy Spirit and empowered to live according to God's will. Phil encourages us to to step into this new reality by faith, and ask for God's help and grace in the areas each of us need it.
In this passage Peter speaks about the flood of Noah and baptism in water. Chris explores how these things correspond, and what it means in light of the finished work of Christ.
Sometimes, the fear of others' opinions can hinder us from doing what we know is right. How can we live authentically, guided by love for God and others, rather than constantly worrying about how people will react to us? When we live in this different way we might be called upon to explain the reason we have for doing so and the hope we have in knowing that God has ultimately accepted us.
How should Christians behave towards each other and towards others? This passage reminds us that the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous and his ears are open to our prayers. We should, therefore, strive to live in peace with one another and with others, and to honour God by living a righteous life.

Here Peter instructs wives to submit to their husbands, just as Jesus submitted to the Father, and emphasise their inner beauty over outward adornment. Husbands are encouraged to treat their wives with honour and understanding, recognizing their equal value as fellow heirs of grace.
Often we see submission to authority as something to fight and rebel against in the pursuit of 'freedom'. However, when we submit to the authorities that God has given us, as good gifts of His grace, we can live as people who are genuinely free. This is God's Amazing upside-down freedom!
Jesus' claim that he has ‘come that they may have life, and have it to the full’ must hold answers which we cannot simply ignore. Si explores how this, and the events of Easter, answer one of life’s most searching questions, the meaning of life itself.

God commands his church to love one another with a different kind of love which can be hard and, at times, it can feel impossible. However, thanks to the work of Jesus in our lives, it is possible!
Peter writes to help us understand who Jesus is and who we are. With the help of a flip-flap book about dinosaurs, Si helps us to understand how what we put our faith and hope in makes a difference in living out our salvation in Jesus.
These three verses serve as a bridge between Peter's description of a new reality in Christ and the letter's teaching on how we should live. They mention the prophets to offer assurance about this new reality and emphasize Jesus' central role in God's narrative. The prophets help connect the fall and the rescue and give us insight into God's character and actions.
The first verse of 1 Peter describes Christians as ‘exiles’, ‘strangers’ or ‘aliens’. How does that description fit with your experience of living as a Christian today? Leave your thoughts and comments below.1 Peter 1:6-8 was written to give stability and confidence to early believers experiencing trials. They were able to rejoice in their faith because of the amazing inheritance that they had received, which could never spoil or fade. This joy is available to anyone who believes in Jesus Christ, regardless of their circumstances. While becoming a Christian does not mean an end to all trials, the suffering is temporary, and believers can look forward to the restoration of all things.
