Please Note: Some of these I recorded years before creating this podcast for my own personal enjoyment. Thus, varying levels of quality - my newer ones have less background noise and less talking beforehand, etc. I ask permission before posting these, or even if it looks like the author hasn't been active for a couple years, I leave a comment and let them know. (Also, if an author rescinds their permission, I will totally take their recording down.)

Basically Annabeth comes home from a long, exhausting day full of dramatic socializing to find that Percy has an adorable (though slightly melancholic) present for her. Voice list, just in case my 'accents' get confusing. Normal Voice: Narration and Percy - I can’t talk for too long in anything but my normal voice and I feel like my ability to sound goofily awkward fit well with Percy’s lines in this story. Terrible Russian accent: Annabeth, because I usually make my more serious characters have Russian accents and I love the idea of her sounding like that.
So this is an Avatar the Last Airbender fic by the marvelous aloneintherain (on AO3)/captainkkirk (on tumblr). It’s an awesome story of the beginning of Zuko’s reign, the Fire Nation’s cultural renaissance after a century of war, and how the Gaang help him along the way. So I tried having different regional accents, because these kids are all from different corners of the world. So Fire Nation has British accents, because they’re the second easiest for me to do, both have historically had brutal navies, and honestly I’d like to think it sounds refined. As the major two fire benders are royalty, I think it works. Water Tribe has an (Northeast) American accent because it’s the easiest for me to do, and because honestly I wanted to pretend that Katara has my voice. Also making Sokka have a deep voice was kind of funny. Earth Kingdom has (Southeast) country accents because when I think of their land, I think of farming tbh. Also making Toph sound like a southern belle who will kick your ass is funny to me as well. As for Aang (Air Nomads) I did a crappy half Scottish/half Irish accent. I usually use crappy Russian as my third most used accent, but I felt like that didn’t fit Aang. However, a crappy Scottish/Irish voice seemed to fit him a bit better, so I went with that. Here’s just a list of voices just so everything is clear.

Normal Voice: Narration and Dick (I usually choose the main character to have my normal voice, but Dick talks more and I think the voice I chose for Jason fits better as I always imagined Dick having a higher voice than Jason)
Deeper voice: Jason (See above)
Fake Deep Russian-like accent: Bruce (My brain when trying to decide between who in the Batfam should get the deeper voice, Jason or Bruce, decided that Russian sounds even deeper lol sorry Jason, Bruce got you beat on the voice-like-gargling-boulders front.)(I know it isnt actually that deep but when I go any deeper my voice cuts out for an hour and anyway I'm an alto not a bass so heck off)
Country voice: Clark Kent (Superman) because I can't do a Midwestern accent and this is how all of the more farmy kids near me sound anyway.
Softer, slightly sing song voice: Cass, because I always imagined her as soft-spoken ad having a musical voice (I figured while she didn't know how to talk she did at least hear music and it helped shape her way of talking later on). Also, I was running out of ideas.
Really awful Australian accent that probably sounded vaguely British or American half the time: Stephanie. I'm going to have to think of a better voice for her sometime but I haven't figured it out yet. If you hear a mumble that sounds like 'cheerleader' before some of her dialogue, it's because that's how I get my mouth into the shape I can formulate the accent from. It's better than 'Shrimp on the Barbie' I guess.
Scratchy voice: Damian, because I was influenced by youtube. Don't worry, I have a different voice for him when he's older.
English voice: Alfred Pennyworth (he's English)
Higher English voice: Diana Prince (Wonder Woman) As I cannot do a Greek accent to save her life, and because she landed in England before America in the 2017 movie, I made her have a British accent.

Scratchy/Slightly Annoying voice: Damian (this is just how I used to imagine him back when I used to make recordings just for myself, and I used to watch a dubbed abridged Young Justice and that was how it sounded. If I ever do a fic with him as an adult/older teen I plan to use a deep British accent, so yeah.)
Slightly Australian/Slightly Country/Mostly confusing: Steph (When I made these for myself I read mostly Batfam boys fics so the girls got the less common and harder-for-me-to-maintain accents. But I imagine Steph would like Australia.)
Higher voice: Tim (I always imagined him more feminine, and high energy when he's nervous, and since he's always anxious and talks a bunch I made him have this voice. Sometimes it is hard to tell from my normal voice. I acknowledge that and try to manage it so it isn't confusing.)
British voice: Alfred (because he's British and its one of my easiest accents)
