This world of light, this circle of brightness is the real world, where guilt meets with forgiveness. T-18.IX.9:1
Guilt weighs heavily on us. It keeps us from moving forward and instead keeps us in the past pain. We can be free of guilt as we come to forgive the past and be in the present with the Holy Spirit. But we can't do it alone. His faith in us is beyond measure. We deserve a guilt-free life and we can have it by placing our trust in Him.
When we approach our daily lives with the premise, "I am here only to be truly helpful" there is a difference to the level of peace that we will feel. Moving from the "give to get" mentality and into the "giving with gratitude" mentality will save us countless tears and frustrations. We will experience a satisfaction and serenity as never before when we make this shift. We already have it all within us as that is how we were created. We are Love and we are here to give only Love.

The Miracle Instant Workshop

This week's sermon highlights the following points: physical and psychological symptoms, anti-depressants and other medications, symptom links, illness and disease in babies and children, victimization feelings, prayer and faith healing and finally, what is the goal of ACIM?, Rev. Deb reminds us that as the Course tell us, "Since only the mind can be sick, only the mind can be healed. Only the mind is in need of healing." P-in.1:1-2. The session ends with a meditation.
Rev. Deb shares on the importance of stepping back and pausing with the Holy Spirit. We can only do this by practicing as often as possible. The more that we take the time the more it becomes an automatic response to thoughts, situations or experiences that are presented to us. Rev. Deb shares a meditation using various Workbook Lessons. This has been a hot topic for two of our weekly study groups, so we were guided to explore a little bit more about the ego’s idea of perfection vs. the Holy Spirit’s idea of perfection. Deb and Paul share the deep desire that we hold for acceptance by God. We try to find that acceptance in the world around us and many times it has brought us painful results. The only true way to find acceptance is by joining with the Holy Spirit to realize our magnitude vs. the littleness expressed by the ego.

Within each and every one of us there is a vision of light to behold and experience. It is the vision of our Christ selves. It is the Miracle Jesus talks about in A Course in Miracles. Learning how to perceive the light is one of the goals of the Workbook for Students. Unfortunately, there is a system of thought that our minds have joined with that puts forth a lot of effort in preventing us from ever finding this light within ourselves. It is the ego thought system. This evening we are going to take a look at the clever habits the ego thought system has taught us throughout our lives that prevent us from finding our salvation, peace and joy. We are going to remember what it takes to counter act this problem, and practice the true art of remembering God.

Okay, so we have gotten pretty good at developing the habit of asking Holy Spirit for guidance in our everyday lives. A situation comes up, we step back, spend some time asking Holy Spirit for guidance, we receive and follow the guidance, then all of a sudden "Buyer's Remorse" kicks in. We bought into the guidance of the Holy Spirit and now we regret it! We are supposed to feel happy and okay, but instead, we feel afraid, uncertain and want to take it all back! Now what do we do?! What the heck is going on?! "Holy Spirit, Help!"
