Theologians refer to the time we live in as the already but not yet. As Christians living in the new covenant we experience so many of God's fulfilled promises. But there are also some promises that are are yet to come to completion. One of the main goals of Christians should be to live the most God-honoring lives we can while we are living in the between of what is fulfilled and what is yet to come. This podcast is one of variety. Some episodes we post sermons, Bible studies, book reviews, interviews, and discussions on all kinds of Biblical topics. All Scripture quotations are taken from the English Standard Version.
Paul's admonition in 1 Corinthians 11 was to partake of the Lord's supper as a community. Unfortunately, many times today we treat communion as just a private, individualistic time of worship.
What does it mean to walk by the Spirit? Are we to simply be passive and let God make us holy? Or do we work with God in our sanctification?
We are constantly surrounded by the world telling us that we should never be satisfied. We are told to always be grasping for more. It can be difficult to live life in contentment when these messages are believed. Jesus calls us to live a better way. He calls us to live a life that does not have an identity in stuff.
We serve God according to our perception of Him. Do we see God as a cruel taskmaster or as a loving Father? Do we see Him as administering punishment or as giving discipline? We examine Romans chapter 8 to see the freedom we have as children of God.
In this study of Nicodemus we look at his fear of man and study if he ever overcame that fear. We look at boldness in the Bible and how Christians are called to live in this world.
Jesus demonstrates mercy to a widow when He stops the funeral procession of her son and raises him from the dead. Jesus loves to bring life where there is death. He has the power to breath life into our lives as well.
Do your prayers have power? James chapter 5 uses the example of Elijah to encourage us to pray powerful prayers.
