Your law firm business may not be worth what you think it is. That’s a hard truth to swallow, but it could save you thousands or even millions of dollars if you recognize it now rather than too late.
On this episode of Wealthy Woman Lawyer®, Davina shares stories of three solo women law firm owners who reached the difficult conclusion that their firms weren’t financially worth what they believed they would be on the open market. She also shares the difference between a job you created for yourself and a business that operates in your absence, why you’d be wise to consider hiring a high-performing team, and how to overcome your fear around discussing money (so you can make much, much more of it!)

Hiring help in your law firm business can be a game changer, but how do you know when you need an executive assistant instead of a virtual assistant? It can be tricky, but there are some definite differences in the capabilities between the two roles.
In this episode of Wealthy Woman Lawyer®, Davina speaks with Gina Cotner, founder and CEO of Athena Executive Services, which pairs virtual executive assistants around the United States with swamped and successful entrepreneurs and executives. “Most of our clients nowadays, you know, they want to repay what they borrow, they understand they signed a contract (and) they're good with that. What they can't pay is the excessiveness…because with the cost of interest with a default, which basically adds 25%
collection costs on a federal loan, you end up with just something that's unpayable. We get
rid of that excessiveness, and then we try to do it in a way that's tax free, or at least with an
understanding of what that potential tax issue could be..” – Christie Arkovich

I’m writing a new book, tentatively titled, The Wealthy Woman Lawyer’s Guide to Amassing Wealth: 7 Passive Income Investment Ideas to Help You Diversify Your Assets, Generate Income, and Enjoy True Financial Freedom.
So many women law firm owners have asked me: “What do I do once I start amassing wealth through my law firm business?”
If you’ve never had wealth before, this can be a daunting question. Is it enough to just spend it all on travel (some people think so!)? Or should you be diversifying your wealth portfolio? Ultimately, that all depends on your life goals.
Wealthy Woman Lawyer® Stacey Kiren, CEO and Founder of Kirven Law in Sheridan, Wyoming, recently decided to invest some of her law firm profits into a second business, one that had long been a dream of hers and is completely unrelated to law.
In this episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer® podcast, I asked her about her new business investment—the good, the bad and the ugly—and she shared it all!
If you are thinking about investing the profits from your wealth-generating law firm into another business, you are going to love this episode!

In this week’s solo episode, I share a personal story about a conversation I recently had with a new client about her journey to working with me—because sometimes it takes people a minute, or even years, to get there. First, know that if that’s you, that’s okay. We all are on our own journey, making those tough CEO decisions every day. There is no right or wrong, there is only what we desire.
Also, I share with you a thought I had about our conversation that she probably didn’t even consider, and one you likely would not consider either.
Lastly, I offer up a challenge to you if you’ve been sitting on the sidelines for years absorbing all the awesome content other women lawyers and law firm coaches are putting out there to help you grow a profitable, sustainable business.
I do hope you enjoy this short, but powerful, episode! If so, please let me know! I love to hear from all our listeners.

Kailey has created a law career that fits around her priorities and her lifestyle, not others’ visions of what a lawyer’s life should be. Kailey, the child of a lawyer mom, knew from a young age that she wanted to be a lawyer. She also wanted to be able to do for her children what her mother did for her: be fully present during those formative years. It took courage and creativity to leave her position as a government trial attorney and reconcile how she could create a firm that fit around her vision of motherhood… but she did it!
As a mom of two, Kailey now has a thriving solo IP practice. She works part-time and is present for her family in a way that feels aligned with her priorities and values. She’s also created a mentorship program to help other lawyers with similar goals.

What do you want 2022 to look like for your life and your law firm business?
Maybe you had a different vision in your head when you started your firm—you thought if you struck out on your own you’d have more time with your loved ones, to travel, or pursue your other passions. But right now you're working all the time and your dreams still seem out of reach.
Does that sound familiar? If so, this episode is especially for you. Today, I am sharing how you can make your dreams of working less, making more, and living the life you’ve dreamed of a reality for 2022—in just five steps.

This time of year our thoughts turn to turkey and taxes! Yes, taxes! I know very few of us are fans, but tax strategy is important business strategy, and not knowing what you need to know can cause you to leave money on the table or worse.
Today, I’m going to share with you seven tips about taxes based on my own experience:
Has the great resignation found its way to your firm?
If you’ve suddenly found yourself short staffed, read on.
First of all, let me reassure you it’s not you— I've spoken with several women law firm owners who have recently experienced a mass exodus of their staff, leaving them in a real bind, and wondering what to do next. Law firms are not exempt from the current labor shortage.
So what should you do?
Today, on the Wealthy Woman Lawyer® podcast, I share some insight and seven do’s and don’ts:
Why do I need to scale my law firm to a million dollars?
The truth is, you don’t. You can set any goal your heart desires.
But this episode is for you if 2022 is going to be your year—the year you finally commit to scaling your law firm business and creating not only wealth, but freedom. Listen as I walk you through:
Coaching women law firm owners over the past eight years has taught me there really is a “success superpower.”
But what sets the financially and emotionally fulfilled law firm owners apart from the less successful?
In this episode, I share the one key that can put you on the fast track to success in your firm and in your life.
You’ll discover…
What would you do with your one beautiful life if you not only had the financial resources you desired, but all the time and freedom those resources provided?

We’re excited to welcome Lauren Boyd to this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer® Podcast.
Lauren is an attorney, entrepreneur, podcast host, speaker, and mother to be who started and scaled her own 6-figure boutique law firm called Guide My Business. Guide My Business is a relationship-based firm driven by helping entrepreneurs own their brand and their day. Lauren’s first passion is entrepreneurship. She says, “I grew up in a family of entrepreneurs. I think I always knew I would own my own business. I just never knew it would be a law firm.”
Listen as she explains how her passion led to her perfect practice, as well as:
We’re excited to welcome Legal Recruiter Brian Moskowitz to this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer® Podcast. As a 20-year lawyer, Brian observed that while some attorneys flourished, many others were miserable and on the edge of burnout. When he decided to leave the daily practice of law, he knew exactly what he wanted to do: help attorneys unhappy with their careers find a better way. Now, as the Managing Director for Kenzak Group, a talent access firm, he matches uncommon lawyers with uncommon law firms.
Brian says, “If you want to compete in this day and age, you need to widen the sourcing pool.”
Listen as he shares his insider knowledge—not only as a lawyer, but as a long-time legal recruiter—and the keys to attracting the best talent now, including:
Jordan Ostroff calls himself the “attorney with a life.” His mission is to help lawyers make more money, work less time and live a better life. He only works three days a week.
He’s also the President of LegalEase Marketing, and Managing Partner of Jordan Law in Florida. Today we are talking to him about bridging the gap between who your ideal client is and how you reach them. Listen as he walks us through:
On this week’s Wealthy Woman Lawyer® Podcast, we welcome Victoria Collier. Victoria is a certified elder law attorney who built a firm with a $1.5 million dollar value.
After taking her law firm to great heights, she realized it was no longer serving her passion and wasn’t getting her to where she wanted to be from a personal standpoint, so she sold it for six times her net revenue.
Today, she coaches attorneys on positioning their firms for sale so they can step into their true purpose or pursue another passion. Listen as she shares with us:
This week, on the Wealthy Woman Lawyer® podcast, we are replaying this classic episode because it was in our top three most popular with listeners.
Lourdes Fuentes Slater is the CEO of Karta Legal, a legal operations and law firm management consulting firm. Karta Legal provides independent advice to both law firms and legal departments on how to innovate using technology. Lourdes is a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma, a process improvement methodology.
“When you’re starting your business, or when you have a small firm and you want to compete with the bigger fish, I think technology is the great equalizer,” says Lourdes.
She also reveals how to play bigger by leveraging technology...
On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer® Podcast, we welcome Kristy Cook, the founder of Mod Law Firm. Mod Law Firm is a bi-coastal, completely virtual firm focused on serving purpose driven businesses. Kristy has spent the last decade assisting for profit and not-for-profit businesses achieve their heart centered goals.
When Kristy opened her own law firm, her goal was to be completely transparent about everything—including her fees, and it’s paying off for her (and her clients) big-time. Listen to discover how she made the transition, her best advice if you’re considering the same, plus…
This week, I’m bringing back my conversation with Ruby Bolton on the Wealthy Woman Lawyer® podcast because of more than 100 episodes, this was, by far, the most popular.
Ruby’s story is like that of many working mothers. For years she was caught up in the “women in the workplace double standard” and filled with working-mom guilt even as she excelled in her career. Ruby says, “The biggest factor ... in my being successful was making the decision that it was okay. That it was not something that I needed to feel guilty about.”
Discover how she shifted from feeling constrained by traditional social expectations to thriving in all areas of her life, plus...
This week, I’m bringing back one of my favorite conversations from the Wealthy Woman Lawyer® podcast...
...my conversation with Regina Edwards, of Edwards Family Law, one of the most unique, dynamic and revolutionary family law firms in the state of Georgia.
Regina’s story stands out because it wasn't that long ago that she thought she was FINISHED with practicing law, even escaping to Scottsdale, Arizona in a “mini-retirement.” But, instead, she chose to completely reinvent her practice and her life…Now she’s no longer chained to her desk, she travels at will while still providing great service to satisfied clients…and she’s healthier and HAPPIER than ever.
How’d she do it?
Here’s what you’ll discover in this special “rewind” episode of the podcast…
Today, I read yet another post from a woman law firm owner “venting” about a “bad” client. Certainly, some people will never be easy to work with. Most “bad” client stories I read and hear, though, could have different outcomes if the law firm had a better client control or client management system. In this episode, I share one that was taught to me when I started my practice years ago, and one I’ve shared with many of my women law firm owner clients with tremendous success.
You’ll discover…
Are you suffering from the “success dilemma” in your firm?
It’s one many women law firm owners seem to be struggling with right now... they are so successful that they are turning away work and yet, they can’t hire the talented A+ associates, paralegals and admins they need to meet the demand.
If you are feeling the hiring pinch, know it’s not just you, and it’s not an illusion. Daily media reports are filled with stories of the “Great Resignation” and the U.S. labor shortage. Apparently, law firms are not exempt.
Today, on the Wealthy Woman Lawyer® podcast, I share five strategies to help you cultivate the team you need to grow your firm and work fewer hours—even though, right now, good help is hard to find:
Online reviews can either be a magnet for new clients to your firm, or a ghost town that looks abandoned. Having a healthy review profile for your law firm is no longer optional.
The problem is happy clients don’t always stop to leave reviews, and unhappy ones (or their friends and relatives) can’t get to the keyboard fast enough.
In this episode I share with you five specific strategies to get more 5-star client reviews from satisfied clients. Listen and you’ll discover...
According to experts, many of your deeply held beliefs are established by age 7. This includes our “money stories”—those stories we tell ourselves about money, hard work and wealth. Depending on what you’ve been taught and internalized, you may have created a subconscious limit to what you believe you can achieve financially.
On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer® podcast, I’m talking about our money stories because it’s the place where so many of my clients—women law firm owners like you—get stuck when they set out to scale their law firm businesses to $1M or more.
Today I’ll share with you my four-step framework to help you shatter your internal glass ceiling, shift any negative beliefs around money, and finally achieve your biggest wealth goals.

On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer® podcast, I want to introduce you to 3 questions you can ask yourself when you are feeling overwhelmed and exhausted by all the items on your “to do” list, or when you feel out of control.
I remember the first time someone asked me to ponder these questions in relation to my business. At the time, my ideas about time and money were very fixed, but through this process of discovery, my beliefs changed, and with them, so did my ability to shift my thinking. Along with that shift came breakthroughs for me and my clients that I previously did not think were possible.
Today, I want to invite you to journey with me through these 3 questions so the next time you are feeling stuck, frustrated, sad, or even just confused about what to do next, you'll have some tools in your toolbox to help you step into what’s possible.
We hope you enjoy this episode as we discuss:

On this week’s Wealthy Woman Lawyer® Podcast, we speak with Melissa Emery, Owner of Emery Law Office in Louisville, Kentucky. She opened her practice in 2017 and focuses on helping people who have been injured in motor vehicle collisions.
Melissa says, “I think when you've got people in your life that help you, you want to give back and help other people. That's the thread that I feel runs through my life and through my business: I want to help other people. Not just clients, but other lawyers and their staff. And, the more I can expand my business, the more people we can help.”
We discuss business development practices to reclaim your time, as well as:

Our guest on this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer® Podcast is Billie Tarascio. She is the founder and owner of Modern Law and Access Legal. As a family law and divorce attorney, Billie sought to develop a certified legal document preparation and technology company dedicated to increasing access to justice. She is also a national speaker and author of the books Decode Your Divorce and Tiger Tactics: Winning Strategies for Building Law Firms.
Billie says, “I wanted to be able to offer low-cost legal services and forward-facing legal documents that could be automated and customized. So, the sister company, I Do Over, is run by certified legal document preparers, which are paralegals that help people do their documents and get everything filed. It was a workaround, I had to open up two companies and set up walls and have the right contracts in order to offer this business model (in addition to the more traditional law practice).”
We chat about Billie’s experience in opening a law firm in Arizona almost as soon as she moved there, the challenges she’s faced in growing her practice and starting its sister company, plus:
On this week’s Wealthy Woman Lawyer® Podcast, we speak with Lourdes Fuentes Slater, the CEO of Karta Legal, a legal operations and law firm management consulting firm. She has been named Trailblazer by the New York bar journal for being an agent of change, a thought leader, and an innovator. Lourdes provides independent advice to both law firms and legal departments on how to innovate not only by using technology, but also examining the way they do things and improving legal processes.
Lourdes says, “What I advocate for is to look at how to eliminate waste by automating processes. When you automate certain processes, your need for the human workforce is reduced, and the money that you save more than pays for the technology itself. It provides opportunities for people that want to create their own businesses to be able to do so with the comfort and the understanding that there is a technology out there that will assist them in doing so without a huge capital investment.”
We discuss her innovative approach to litigation, as well as:
On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer® Podcast, we speak with Janet Falk, a Wall Street securities analyst turned PR professional, and the founder of Falk Communications and Research. Falk Communications and Research provides media relations, public relations, and marketing strategy for revenue growth for attorneys, as well as other professional consultants.
Janet says, “If you want to be seen, you want to be in the venue, or on the platform, or in the publication where your target market is looking for resources and information. That may be on social media, but recognize that you have to tag it and re-promote it repeatedly in order to get the attention of the people who are looking there. The reason why you want to be in print media is because print lives in print and online, so it's like you're getting two for the price of one.”
We chat about why media relations is relevant, even in today’s “social” world, and the importance of leveraging PR to promote your firm, as well as:
On this week’s Wealthy Woman Lawyer Podcast, we’re joined by Heinan Landa, Founder, and CEO of Optimal Networks, Inc., a globally ranked IT services firm. After earning his BS and MS in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University, Heinan went on to receive his MBA from the Wharton School of Business. Featured in Legal Management, Legal Times, Chief Executive Inc. Magazine, Forbes, CIO, and with regular appearances on WJLA-TV, WTTG-TV, and WUSA9, Heinan is a trusted leader in the legal technology and business spaces.
We chatted with Heinan about all things tech for the legal industry, particularly the changes in law firm tech he has been observing since the global pandemic began.
Heinan says, “During the first month or two of the lock-down, we had a lot of very quick implementations of Teams, Slack, and Zoom. Following that was a lot of discussion on taking a firm’s culture into the digital world to make people feel connected to their co-workers because that's what people were missing the most. Operationally, they were good: they were able to work on documents, they could call clients, they could do whatever they needed to do. But, it was all of a sudden this feeling of being disconnected from their teammates that they needed. That became the big topic of discussion.”
We also discussed:
On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer® Podcast, we speak with Meagan Landress, an advisor with Student Loan Planner, to discuss how to shift from being six figures in student loan debt to having a six figure net worth. Since 2016, Student Loan Planner has consulted on over $1.1 billion of student loan debt and found over $214 million in projected savings for the professionals they’ve worked with.
Meagan says, “I first started my career working at a personal financial planning firm, and a problem we consistently ran into was that with highly educated individuals, there typically came a lot of student loan debt. I continued to be surprised with the amount of debt we were starting to see, so I started diving deeper into the federal system of student loans and I found that there was a lot you can leverage. The federal system is very complicated, but we can find ways to leverage it in someone's favor.”
We chat about dealing with student loan debts, as well as:
On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer Podcast, we speak with style consultant, Melanie Lippman. Melanie works with ambitious women who are letting limiting beliefs and overwhelm about clothing and personal style hold them back from who they are really meant to be.
“From a young age, I realized the power of confidence and the power of just you, yourself feeling good. If you feel good and you just feel confident in the way that you look, as opposed to not loving the body you’re in right now, it can really flip the switch on any situation. That's kind of where I really realized that I loved giving women the power to feel great in their own skin,” says Melanie.
We chat about looking beyond the surface level of personal style, as well as:
On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer Podcast, we speak with Lori Mihalich-Levin. Lori is a healthcare lawyer, partner in a large global law firm, the Founder and CEO of Mindful Return, and the author of Back to Work After Baby: How to Plan and Navigate a Mindful Return from Maternity Leave. Called a working mama guru by Working Mother Magazine, Lori is committed to promoting women’s equality and leadership throughout her career.
Lori says, “After my second maternity leave, I went back to work, and it was just a mess. I found myself crying on the kitchen floor way more often than I could have imagined and I looked around and saw all sorts of resources focused on the baby, but not focused on the professional identity of the mom. And so I said, wait a minute, there's a problem here. I wish that there had been a program, or a curriculum, or a community I could have joined to be with other people and to learn how to go back to work in a calmer, more empowered way, so I founded Mindful Return to fill that gap.”
We speak about her journey to creating Mindful Return, as well as:
On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer Podcast, we speak with Doug Brown, Chief Learning Officer and coach at Summit Success. Through their executive coaching, consulting, and publication division, Summit Success works with high-performing executives, business leaders, and professionals to ensure that they have the tools they need to live rich, full, and balanced lives.
Doug says, “My business is helping lawyers improve their businesses; It's about filling the practice with the perfect client. Yes, it's possible to have perfect clients, people who you're meant to serve, who you love working with, and who love you back, and to do it faster and make more money so that you get to do things like take a vacation and look forward to going to work.”
We chat about Doug’s journey from attorney to executive coaching, as well as::
On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer Podcast, we speak with Genny Castellanos, the Founder and CEO of De Novo Review. De Novo Review is a dynamic legal staffing company dedicated to providing high-caliber, experienced attorneys and paralegals for complex litigation and appellate research, drafting, and courtroom work.
Genny says, “I worked at a firm handling litigation, and I was always the go-to attorney for complex litigation and writing, and I also brought something unique to the firm; I was an out of the box thinker. That was the birthplace of De Novo Review, in that, during that work experience, I looked at it and thought: How sustainable is this billable hours structure of 2000 hours? Is this the most effective way for law firms to be using their people resources? Are we really strategically placing people to do what they're best at?”
We chat about Genny’s journey to founding De Novo Review, as well as:
On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer Podcast, we interview Kelly Forst, Founder and CEO of Forst Law Firm, about her experience in running a law firm in two states. Kelly is a leading collaborative law attorney. Since 2000, she and her team have helped hundreds of clients navigate their separation, divorce, child custody, and estate planning matters. Two years ago, Kelly expanded her firm, and while she continues to operate in New York, she now lives and works primarily in Orlando, Florida, with an office in Celebration.
We chat about how she got her start as an attorney and law firm owner, and the reason she chose to expand into two states, as well as:
On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer Podcast, we speak with Diana Maier, the Founder and CEO of Maier Law Group. Maier Law Group is an employment and privacy law practice that provides legal advice to employers. The firm was founded on the idea that the workplace can be the means for effective social and personal change, one happy employee at a time, and that’s a philosophy that Diana models in her own joyful firm.
Diana says, “I thought a lot about going to school and getting a PsyD or an LCSW, but at the end of the day, I knew that I might get frustrated in that role and that I might want to feel I had a little more muscle behind my degree. So, I actually did go to law school for that purpose (creating social change) and came out as a public defender for several years before I went into employment law. That was a really gratifying career, and overall, I think it was the right choice, but it was a very roundabout path to get there.”
We chat about Diana’s journey to becoming an attorney, to starting her own employment law firm, and her mission of helping employers create great places to work, as well as:
On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer Podcast, we speak With Annie Scranton, the President and Founder of Pace Public Relations, an all-female, full-service media relations and communications agency specializing in TV, radio, print, and web placement. Prior to founding Pace, Annie worked as a guest booker for major networks including CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, Fox News, and ABC, which affords her a unique understanding of behind the scenes television, as well as a very large network of contacts.
Annie says, “One of the most critical steps that people really miss when they're trying to promote and pitch themselves to the media is that you have to actually watch the show that you're pitching yourself to. You have to actually read the newspaper, or the trade publication, or the magazine because you need to craft a pitch in a way to present yourself that is in line with the type of reporting that is being done by that outlet.”
We chat about Annie’s journey to founding PPR, as well as:
On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer Podcast, we speak with Carol Williams, Founder and CEO of Williams Immigration. Carol is a former Adjudications Officer at the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and founded Williams Immigration to be able to offer personalized service to companies, employees, and families seeking legal counsel within the complex area of immigration law.
Carol knew she wanted to be a lawyer from a very young age and had this to say about it: “As a little kid, even though I didn't know exactly what a lawyer did, I knew that they explained the legal process to their clients, and every night I would wonder if people that had been arrested really understood what was about to happen to them. So, I just put it in my head that I wanted to be that person to explain. I didn’t know whether they were guilty or innocent, but I just wanted to be that person who really kind of held their hand and just explained what was about to happen to them and guided them through that process.”
Even though Carol ultimately chose not to pursue a career in criminal law, she stayed true to her goal of helping people navigate complex legal systems. Today, she’s a successful immigration attorney—at a time when really good immigration attorneys are needed more than ever.
We chat about Carol’s journey to creating Williams Immigration, as well as:
On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer Podcast, we speak with Kathleen Burns Kingsbury, Founder and CEO of KBK Wealth Connection. Kathleen is an expert in financial success, psychology, behavioral finance, and gender-savvy communication. She is the author of five books, including her latest, Breaking Money Silence: How to Shatter Money Taboos, Talk More Openly About Finances, and Live a Richer Life. She also hosts a popular podcast of the same name, the Breaking Money Silence Podcast.
Kathleen says, “My background is both in finance as well as psychology, so it's a perfect blend between those two worlds. Somebody might use financial psychology and really start to examine how they think and feel about money, how they think and feel about negotiating money, asking for money, or managing their finances. Often what we find is that it isn't the technical side of finance that trips somebody up, it's how they're thinking about it, or their money personality, or these unconscious thoughts that they have. So, financial psychology and the work that I do through Breaking Money Silence is really all about that.”
We chat about Kathleen’s journey, particularly her work as a financial psychology expert, as well as:
On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer Podcast, we speak with Pamela DeNeuve, Founder of Pamela DeNeuve, Lawyer & Law Firm Peak Performance Strategist. Although Pamela is not a lawyer herself, she’s spent more than 38,000 hours helping lawyers become better business owners. She specializes in working with attorneys who are experiencing challenges or transitioning their careers, teaching them to fire their inner child and step, as adults, into leadership.
Pamela says, “When someone comes to work with me, the first thing I want to know is what makes them tick. I want to know what coping skills they have, what have they overcome, and what kind of basic operating principle they have developed. And I'll tell you, when we find out what their basic operating principle is, what they overcame, and how they won or how they lost, we find it's exactly in their law practice today.”
We chat about Pamela’s journey as a personal coach, as well as:
On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer Podcast, we speak with Karin Conroy, Founder and Creative Director of Conroy Creative Counsel. Conroy Creative Counsel is dedicated to creating smart, strategic websites for the law firm industry and providing clients with insightful marketing strategies to support their goals.
Karin says, “There's constant evolution and change in marketing; there's never going to be a textbook answer from one point in time that's going to apply forever. The way we talk to clients is different than it was in 2007 and the way we approach positioning and technology is a completely different ball of wax. I've relearned how to make a website I can't even count how many times over. So, I think the thing to focus on is that things change. And yes, you can really get it right and good right now, but you need to be aware of how things might be different a year or two from now.”
We speak about Karin’s journey, as well as:

Their aim is to make quality legal help available to everyone everywhere, and this is done by bridging the gap between DIY and conventional legal service.
“It really was a combination of trying to find something that fit my lifestyle, but also kind of throwing it out there as a let's see if this works. It ended up being very beneficial for clients and I felt like I was actually doing something meaningful and making sure that clients had access to at least some legal services that they may not otherwise be able to have access to,” said Brooke about starting a virtual practice.
We chat about Brooke’s journey, as well as:
On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer Podcast, we speak with Chelsea Williams. Chelsea is the founder of Core Solutions Group Inc. which provides accounting, tax, and cash management solutions for law firms to maximize your growth and profits.
Chelsea says: “One of the realizations that I came to when I worked in the traditional tax and accounting world was how very reactive the services tended to be. When I say that, what I mean is, maybe the accounting firm would hand over the monthly financials, but it kind of stopped there. Business owners would look at the financials and almost go cross-eyed. They weren't actually being proactive and taking the time to understand their financials, and we weren't working with them to do that. When I founded Core Solutions Group, I founded it based around the idea of proactive services and engaging with our clients to go above and beyond.”
We chat about generating wealth and using it in impactful ways, as well as:
On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer Podcast, we speak with Tiana Hardison. Tiana is the Vice President of Development and Content for PILMMA, an educational institution that strives to be the best and most sought after resource for marketing and managing law firms.

So, I had a kind of a personal crisis going on, I needed to generate more income than my small practice could handle and ended up joining a firm and started social security law, and through that, I met my husband. He had PILMMA, which stands for ‘Powerful, Innovative, Legal Marketing Management. So he had a company that gave me a taste of an opportunity to see, okay, how do you grow a law firm?” says Tiana.
We chat about Tiana’s extensive career as an attorney, as well as:

She is also the author of two books for attorneys, The Rainmaking Mindset for Attorneys and Consultations That Convert, and is a sought after speaker on these topics.
“I always knew what I wanted to do in my business, and that was to teach people the best way that they can do business development, sales, and rainmaking for themselves— a way that aligned with who they were the skills that they weren't taught in law school to develop what, I believe, is needed in every practice. Every attorney needs to know how to sell themselves and their services and align with the way the new consumer buys legal services.”
We chat about Liz’s experiences as a “secret shopper” for law firms, as well as:

New Beginnings Family Law is a family law firm in Huntsville, Alabama, serving clients with matters including divorce, child custody and support issues, mediation, adoption, and estate planning.
“Family law was my calling, that was what I was meant to do. With companies like ours, when you can hire someone for fractional assistance, not just an assistant who's going to be there for 40 hours a week, but be there for you at key times, you're able to really outsource the things that you need to do, but without the burden of having to fill time for someone 40 hours a week,” says Trivinia.
We chat about her journey to creating Priority VA, the benefits of working virtually, as well as:
On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer Podcast, we speak with Shell Tain, founder of $ensible Coaching. Shell is a money coach, certified by the International Coach Federation, whose mission is to help her clients, entrepreneurs, and small business owners untangle their money knots.
“My dad decided very early that I should have a good relationship with money. He started me very young, and he made it fun, he made it interesting. I had to keep a ledger of what I spent, and the columns were income and outgo. And the brilliant thing he did at that point was he didn't care what it was. I could buy candy, he didn't care. He just wanted the numbers to work,” says Shell.
We chat about how Shell’s early relationship with money led her to a career, first in accounting, and then in coaching business owners and entrepreneurs and helping them understand the childhood money stories they’ve carried into their businesses. In addition, we discuss…
On this week’s episode of the Wealthy Woman Lawyer Podcast, we sit down with Thomas Hamilton, Vice President of Strategy and Operations for Ross Intelligence. The software features a question-based search, allowing you to pose legal questions in language you would use with your colleagues. It also helps with document analysis, and provides question-focused case overviews and case treatment summaries to allow you to quickly spot cases that have been criticized or overturned.
“The goal really from day one was to use breakthroughs in artificial intelligence that were already popping up and being deployed in other industries, and by a lot of the big high tech companies, but use those breakthroughs, specifically in the law to create a tool that any lawyer could use, any lawyer could afford, and that would drastically improve their ability to do legal research,” says Thomas.
We chat with Thomas about Ross Intelligence, artificial intelligence and its application in the legal field, as well as:

We discuss Kristin’s experiences working with a range of differently sized firms, her catalyst for the move to a boutique firm, as well as:

Tania founded the company because she believes better lawyers make better advocates and achieve the best results for their clients.
“I tried to figure out how to serve solos and small firms and do something I like doing every day. And that was the birth of The Skilled Advocate Company,” says Tania.
This week, we chat about why trial training makes better lawyers, as well as...

Boomtime specializes in helping law firms make the most of their online marketing. Founder and CEO Bill Bice believes that lawyers have untapped resources they could take advantage of to grow the business – if only they knew where to find those resources and how to leverage them.
For Bill, it’s all about data – understanding what’s important (especially about your prospects and customers) and then using that to market more effectively and efficiently. That’s a path to growth but also a huge obstacle to lawyers, who are good at what they do but aren’t necessarily equipped to tackle the intricacies of digital marketing.
We talk about how small firms can step up their marketing game, including…

Michele Lebron didn’t inherit a pot of gold. What she did inherit from her grandmother, a paralegal of 50 years, was an undeniable work ethic and a love for the law. When Michele was only a child, her grandmother would take her to the law office where she worked and let her “work” with her, which led her to eventually getting a “real job” in that same office, becoming a paralegal herself and then, eventually, fulfilling her life-long dream of becoming an attorney.
But that wasn’t enough for Michele. More than anything, she wanted to be her own boss, and to create a prosperous and happy life she knew her grandmother always wanted for her.
It took re-writing old money stories in her head, overcoming old fears and stepping out on faith, but she did it and now not only runs a successful law firm, but she’s even invested in her dream home, her first office building, and a boat and resort-style pool so she can fully enjoy the Florida lifestyle.
In this episode, Michele shares with us how she accomplished all of this and much more, including...

With an MBA as well as her law license in her back pocket, and the guidance of a helpful mentor, Jennifer took to running the business and starting her own bankruptcy practice, while her husband focused on the other areas of practice.
Nine years later, they’ve grown their firm and their family. The key to their success in business, so far, she says is keeping an open mind about processes, and technology. For instance, some of their employees, including paralegals, work remotely and part-time.
Jennifer talks about the systems that make it possible, as well as…

Can you do good work in the community and still run a profitable, wealth-generating law firm?
