In this episode of the Way to Go Podcast, we explore the powerful truths in Psalm 103 about God's character and the blessings He bestows. From forgiveness and renewed strength to His boundless compassion and love, we reflect on how God's benefits transform our lives. Join us as we discuss how gratitude and acknowledging God's grace can reshape our hearts and minds.
In this episode of the Way to Go Podcast, we reflect on the power of acknowledgment—giving God the credit for the blessings in our lives. Whether it’s spiritual growth, financial provision, or the people around us, every good thing comes from the Lord. With verses like Psalm 16:2 and James 1:17, we’re reminded that apart from Him, we have no good thing. Don’t let pride or forgetfulness steal the praise God deserves. Let’s stop and recognize His faithfulness in every part of our story.
Where are you headed? In this episode of the Way to Go Podcast, we explore the power of intentional living and how our everyday choices shape the direction of our lives. With verses like Matthew 25:21, 1 Timothy 6:12, and 1 Corinthians 10:31, we’re reminded that faithfulness, discipline, and living for God’s glory should guide our trajectory. Whether it’s relationships, finances, or faith, your current path determines your future destination. Let’s make it count.

Why would Satan want Jesus crucified? This Easter-focused episode explores the deeper spiritual questions surrounding Jesus’ trial, death, and resurrection. Was the devil hoping to discredit Christ? Did he fail to understand the resurrection? We also reflect on Thomas’ powerful encounter with the risen Jesus and what it means for our faith today. The cross wasn't the end. It was only the beginning.
This week on The Way to Go Podcast, we reflect on one of the most sobering moments on the path to the cross—betrayal. From Judas's hidden sin to Satan's influence at the Last Supper, we examine how a single person can bring division even in the most sacred moments. What does Jesus’ response teach us about character, temptation, and spiritual warfare? And how can we ensure we’re not “the one” who allows the enemy a foothold?
We’ll look at John 13 and Luke 22, and talk honestly about how hiding sin makes us vulnerable and how the devil still targets the work of Christ today.
In this powerful episode, Pastor Bill McMinn is joined by Pastor Steve Sargent of Hiawatha Church of God in Christ for a meaningful conversation on Isaiah 53 and the suffering of Jesus Christ. From prison ministry to personal testimony, they explore how Jesus bore our griefs, carried our sorrows, and was pierced for our transgressions. Together, they reflect on what Christ endured on the cross, what it means to truly be healed, and how His resurrection brings hope and restoration. Whether you’re walking through pain or celebrating redemption, this episode is a reminder that Jesus understands, carries, and transforms every part of our story.
Craig Kordic shares his powerful story of transformation—from a troubled upbringing marked by addiction and crime to becoming a global missionary spreading the gospel in over 40 countries. Hear how God used unexpected moments, faithful people, and a radical calling to take him from brokenness to boldness in Christ.
What does salvation really mean? In this episode, we explore the powerful message behind Isaiah 52—freedom from bondage, restored relationship with God, and the good news that our God reigns. From the consequences of sin to the joy of redemption, salvation is more than just forgiveness; it’s hope, freedom, and transformation.
Salvation isn’t just a moment—it’s a journey. In this episode, we unpack the layered meaning of salvation through Isaiah 52, exploring purity, the ongoing process of transformation, the humility of Christ’s sacrifice, and the necessity of atonement. God calls us to depart from sin, walk in holiness, and rely on the work of Christ, not our own. Real salvation purifies, humbles, and frees.
Are we justifying sin and calling it acceptable? In this episode of The Way to Go Podcast, we dive into Psalm 32 and the urgent need for genuine repentance. Sin is destructive, but God offers forgiveness to those who confess and turn away from it. We expose the dangers of hidden sin, the weight of guilt, and the freedom found in acknowledging our failures before God. True change starts with an honest heart.

Join Pastors Bill McMinn and Eric Barfell on the Way to Go Podcast as they delve into the poignant narrative of Barabbas, as depicted in Matthew 27:15-18 and Mark 15:6-13.
During the festival, it was customary for the governor to release a prisoner chosen by the crowd. Among the prisoners was Jesus Barabbas, a well-known figure. Pilate, aware of the chief priests' ulterior motives, offered to release either Jesus Barabbas or Jesus the Messiah. Despite Pilate's hesitation, the crowd, influenced by the chief priests, demanded the release of Barabbas and the crucifixion of Jesus.
Barabbas becomes emblematic of substitutionary salvation, as he is spared from death through Jesus taking his place. However, this reprieve is contingent upon belief, highlighting the importance of faith in salvation.
The narrative underscores the human tendency to prefer figures like Barabbas, who cater to our desires, over those like Jesus, who challenge us. It reveals the true motives behind the leaders' actions - jealousy and fear of losing their position.
Ultimately, the choice between Jesus and Barabbas reflects a broader spiritual dilemma - whether we align ourselves with truth or with what satisfies our desires. The chant to crucify Jesus echoes through history, serving as a stark reminder of humanity's capacity for brutality and the struggle against sound doctrine.
Pilate's reluctance to condemn Jesus highlights the moral complexity of the situation and raises questions about societal culpability in unjust actions.
The narrative of Barabbas offers profound insights into themes of substitutionary salvation, human nature, and the choices we make in response to truth. Join Pastors Bill and Eric as they explore these themes and their relevance to contemporary spiritual life on the Way to Go Podcast.

This week's Way to Go Podcast features Pastor Bill McMinn and Bradly Brobst exploring the profound topic of fasting. Drawing inspiration from biblical examples, the discussion highlights various aspects of fasting:
The podcast emphasizes that fasting involves deprivation of food, forsaking comforts, and maintaining a private practice, as instructed in Matthew 6:16-18. The ultimate focus is on seeking God's approval rather than showcasing one's fasting to others.

Pastor Bill and Eric discuss the first five of the ten commandments. They read them straight from the Bible and then discuss how they relate to everyday life.
They dig into Exodus 20: 1-12:
And God spoke all these words, saying,
2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
3 “You shall have no other gods before[a] me.
4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5 You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing steadfast love to thousands[b] of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
8 “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
12 “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

Pastor Bill and Eric discuss maturity. It's not about you, but about building others up. Be considerate and serve others.
Philippians 2:3-4 - 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
Romans 14:13-17 - Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister. 14 I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean. 15 If your brother or sister is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy someone for whom Christ died. 16 Therefore do not let what you know is good be spoken of as evil. 17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,
Ephesians 4:12-17 - to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. 14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

Pastor Bill and Mark discuss being unified as a church.
Ephesians 4: As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Unity takes
• Humility
• Gentleness
• Patience
• Bearing with one another
• Making every effort
• Keep the peace

Pastor Bill McMinn and Brad Brobst talk about making transitions.
One of Bill's mantras in life is this – nothing stays the same forever. Things are always changing.
Ecclesiastes 3: There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
9 What do workers gain from their toil? 10 I have seen the burden God has laid on the human
race. 11 He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart;
yet [a] no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

Pastor Bill McMinn and Eric Barfell discuss the topic of routines. They feel that they do better when they are in a routine.
DEFINITION: a regular course of procedure - habitual or mechanical performance of an established procedure.
They look at scriptures that show examples of routines.
Luke 4:16 - He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read,
Luke 5:16 - But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.
Daniel 6:10 - Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.

Talking Finances
?What are the best things you’ve learned about finances?
** Pay Attention
Proverbs 23:23 - Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds; 24 for riches do not endure forever, and a crown is not secure for all generations. 25 When the hay is removed and new growth appears and the grass from the hills is gathered in, 26 the lambs will provide you with clothing, and the goats with the price of a field. 27 You will have plenty of goats’ milk to feed your family and to nourish your female servants.
This is like stepping on the scale every day. I monitor my bank accounts every day. You have to know what’s going on. The more aware I am, the less likely I am to spend it.
Budgets are good.
Count the cost
Know what’s going on – both the husband and the wife should know what the obligations are.
*** Spend Less
*** Save
Proverbs 13:11 - Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.
*** Avoid Debt
Proverbs 22:7 - The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.
*** Side Hustle
*** Communicate
*** Count the Cost
*** Do Stuff Yourself
*** Trust in God
Seek first his kingdom and his righteous.

Pastors Bill and Mark discuss forgiving others.
Matthew 18:21-27: 21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.[g] 23 “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold[h] was brought to him. 25 Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt. 26 “At this the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ 27 The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go
WHAT IS FORGIVENESS?
SHOULD WE FORGIVE IF THE PERSON DOESN’T REPENT?
DOES FORGIVENESS MEAN WE FORGET?
DOES FORGIVENESS MEAN THAT I HAVE TO TRUST YOU?
DOES FORGIVENESS MEAN WE ARE CONDONING IT

Pastors Bill and Mark discuss never being along. God is always there.
Sometimes we feel like we’re the only moral person left on the planet. The only one doing the right thing. And why does he feel this way?
He’s single in his focus. He’s only looking at what Jezebel is doing and what the threats are. So because of what a person says, he’s all forlorn.
1 Kings 19:10-11 - He replied, “I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.” 11 The LORD said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by. 14 He replied, “I have been very zealous for the LORD God Almighty. The Israelites have rejected your covenant, torn down your altars, and put your prophets to death with the sword. I am the only one left, and now they are trying to kill me too.” 18 Yet I reserve seven thousand in Israel—all whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and whose mouths have not kissed him.”
He did face the prophets of Baal alone. He was the one who took it on the chin. His life was threatened by Jezebel. But he wasn’t alone. So many other prophets had been killed by Jezebel. Others were in hiding.
It was so dangerous.
Are we alone?

Pastors Bill and Mark discuss Serenity.
It’s tough to find peace in these days. We’re obviously a very divided nation.
Joshua 24:14-15 - “Therefore, fear the LORD and worship him in sincerity and truth. Get rid of the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt, and worship the LORD. 15 But if it doesn’t please you to worship the LORD, choose for yourselves today: Which will you worship—the gods your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living? As for me and my family, we will worship the LORD.”
A. YOU CAN STATE YOUR BELIEFS
B. YOU DON’T DECIDE FOR OTHERS
C. YOU DECIDE FOR YOU
As for me and my house we will serve the Lord. You don’t need to worry about everything everyone else is doing. You are only responsible for you. You only control you what you believe. And we have to be this way because it’s the only way for freedom to exist.

Pastor Bill and Jeri McMinn discuss breaking bad patterns. Sometimes we get into bad patterns of living. Some of no fault of our own. There's just more to do than you can do. Other times we're directly responsible for the situation we're in.
Thank about Daniel who prayed three times a day! That was a pattern!
There is a discipline to living.

Pastor Bill and Jeri McMinn discuss our relationship with the government.
-Government makes laws
-We submit to the rules
-Freedom doesn't mean no rules
Romans 13:1-5 - Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.
