I'm doing a 400-mile round trip to pick up my son from a summer program. I should be done by the time you hear this, in more ways than one.
It's hot, but I'm going out to more concerts.
In fact, I'm seeing (or just saw) Jackson Browne for the third time in 40 years.
Saw him as part of a No Nukes concert in 1982, then opening for Tom Petty in 2002.
Had a mellow Fourth of July, and also solved the mystery of the strange letter from Arizona.
I worked the polls for the NYC primary election (version one) last week. Here are some snippets of what happened, in real time, including the return of the aggressive poll watcher.
I traveled more than 400 miles this past weekend, to visit a new program with my older son.
Then my younger son played in the championship game of his little league, which I happened to coach.
Despite my older son having finished his program this past week, the Department of Education still required a hearing to determine whether or not they felt his participation was in the "appropriate" setting (even though he attended for seven years).

I committed a federal offense this week by defacing a mailbox.
In fact, I did it twice.
I also defaced signage for the US Parks Department.
But it was all to cover up "F Biden" and COVID conspiracy theory nonsense.
At the end of 2019, I torched a relationship by writing about it.
Last weekend, I saw my ex-girlfriend for the first time in 2 1/2 years and it made me think about what got us here.
My son's little league team suffered another couple of defeats this week.
If they lose one more game, the season will end under .500.
The COVID is behind me, but my right knee has been giving me some problems that needed to be addressed.

My kids were off from school, but because of citywide COVID protocols, our activities were somewhat limited unless we headed for Nassau County, Long Island, New York.
