We're so excited to share some news with you this morning. First, a little history.
12 years ago, on December 7th, The Bridge radio station launched on 88.7 FM, licensed to Harrington, Delaware...and serving much of the lower two thirds of Delaware, plus some of the Eastern Shore of Maryland and parts of South Jersey.
In 2017 – about 5 and a half years ago we were able to improve our coverage of the Eastern Shore...especially Salisbury and south into Virginia when we purchased 92.5 FM.
Two years ago, we dramatically improved our reach to South Jersey with the addition of 105.5 FM in Cape May Courthouse....and today, we're so excited to share that God has opened the door for us to reach even more people in South Jersey!
After months of behind the scenes work, today we're so happy to announce that The Bridge is purchasing WNJB – 89.3 FM, licensed to Bridgeton, NJ...and serving Salem to Mays Landing... including Vineland, Millville, Glassboro and Hammonton.
WNJB will add another 400,000 souls to The Bridge radio footprint...meaning well over 1-million people have access to The Bridge on their FM radio.
The station is currently owned by WHYY, Inc...a non-commercial public radio group out of Philadelphia. We're both hoping the FCC will approve the transfer of the license by February or early March...and The Bridge will be even more loud and clear in The Garden State via 89.3 FM in Bridgeton.

(February 16, 2021) - GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame member, CARMAN, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at a Las Vegas, Nevada hospital, after fighting a series of complications resulting from surgery to repair a hiatal hernia. Carman Dominic Licciardello, known to fans worldwide as “Carman,” was 65. Born January 19, 1956 in Trenton, New Jersey, Carman began his musical career playing drums in his mother’s band at the age of 15. Carman holds the world record for having the largest audience to see a single Christian artist. He set the record for the largest concert at Texas Stadium with more than 71,000 fans and led more than 80,000 fans in worship in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Matt Felts, Carman's manager, states: "When Carman resumed touring again a few years ago, he was concerned that no one would care that he was back. He was wrong. Every night fans packed out venues and his ministry was as powerful as it ever was. This world has lost a light in the darkness but today Carman saw first hand the fruit of his labors."

The Morning Show takes time to remember The Bridge Listener, Volunteer, and Dear Friend - Shawn Willey pastor of Abundant Life Christian Church, in Laurel Delaware, who unexpectedly went home to be with Jesus Christ on Monday, October 14, 2019.
For the last several weeks, there have been stories in the news about the salvation of Kanye West. He has been organizing church services, declared he will only perform Christian music from now on, and that he has met the Lord. But many people are skeptical.

Botham Jean was killed in his apartment by former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger who was convicted of murder and sentenced to ten years in jail - which received mixed reaction.
Jean's younger brother Brandt told Guyger from the witness stand, "If you truly are sorry, I know I can speak for myself, I forgive you."
The courtroom was filled with tears, following the emotional statement, as he hugged Amber Guyger.
Our Bible study from 'It's Not Supposed To Be This Way' by Lisa Terkeurst has camped out the last couple of weeks in Genesis including the fact that God formed Adam out of the dust...breathing HIS breath into him to bring him to life...
"We live in a broken world where broken things happen. So it's not surprising that things get broken in our lives as well. But what about those times when things aren't just broken but shattered beyond repair? Shattered to the point of dust. At least when things are broken there's some hope you can glue the pieces back together. But what if there aren't even pieces to pick up in front of you? You can't glue dust.
It's hard to hold dust. What was once something so very precious is now reduced to nothing but weightless powder even the slightest wind could carry away. We feel desperately hopeless. Dust begs us to believe the promises of God no longer apply to us. That the reach of God falls just short of where we are. And that the hope of God has been snuffed out by the consuming darkness all around us.
We want God to fix it all. Edit this story so it has a different ending. Repair this heartbreaking reality.
But what if fixing, editing, and repairing isn't at all what God has in mind for us in this shattering?
What if, this time, God desires to make something completely brand-new? Right now. On this side of eternity. No matter how shattered our circumstances may seem.

Everyone at The Bridge was so sad yesterday afternoon to learn that recent Woodbridge High School Graduate, and football star quarterback Troy Haynes passed away.
It has been 20 years since September 11, 2001.
On that day, four coordinated attacks were carried out by terrorists... resulting in the deaths of 2,996 people... and injuring 6,000 more.
Most of those who perished were civilians, with the exception of 343 firefighters, 72 law enforcement officers, and 55 military personnel.
Today as we remember 9-11, we want to share the story of Cliff Stabner who now lives in Lewes, Delaware. Cliff was with Rescue 3, the elite, highly and specially trained unit of firefighters with FDNY.
Two days before 9-11, Cliff was injured in a structure fire. He was scheduled to work the morning of 9-11 but instead had to report to the hospital for an exam so he could be released to return to active duty. That morning - every man on duty with Rescue 3 was killed.
Normally after an injury requiring a hospital visit, Cliff would see the doctors early so he could beat the city traffic and get in a full day on the job. On September 11th, for some reason, he decided to go in later.
When word reached the hospital that the World Trade Center had been hit by a plane, all the firefighters waiting for their exams grabbed their gear and rushed to the site. They were all killed when the towers collapsed.
Cliff avoided death twice that morning. But as soon as he heard what was happening, he rushed into the city to help...

Emmy Rose was born into a home with parents who were united in Catholic ministry. Her parents were musical, and raised Emmy around songwriting, spurring her to begin writing songs at a very young age.
She began her tenure in Southern California before following a call to come to Bethel in 2015. Emmy was nurtured within the Bethel Music family for several years. Emmy will be featured on future Bethel Music collections.

SonRise Church has an on-going partnership with the village in San Felipe, Guatemala. We have already provided a well and clean water, and provided shoes for the entire village. At this time the church is working on construction a Church Building so they have a place to worship out of the elements.
SonRise Church believes in serving others. They are a part of a Total Transformation Project in San Felipe! The church is sending several teams on five different mission trips throughout 2019. SonRise is going to Guatemala, Montreal and West Virginia on mission!
SonRise Church was started in October 2002 by our lead pastor Daryl McCready, his wife Traci, and 13 other adults from Berlin First Baptist Church. We have always been passionate about expanding Gods Kingdom. From the very beginning we felt the call of God to be intentional about Kingdom expansion through church planting.

Listeners decide which radio stations and DJ’s are the best in their community by tuning in each day. Delaware Today readers decide which companies are the Best of Delaware by voting each year. Morning Show Hosts Bill & Denise were selected Best Radio DJ's Downstate, and The Bridge (WKNZ-FM, Harrington/Dover, DE) was named Best Radio Station for Music Downstate. Every Best of Delaware 2018 winner is presented in the July issue of Delaware Today magazine – on newsstands now.
The Bridge (WKNZ-FM, Harrington/Dover, DE) turned on, and dedicated, its brand new state of the art broadcast transmitter Thursday afternoon, June 14.
"Our used tube transmitter has been showing its age", said Bridge manager Bill Sammons. "The last time it went off the air, our engineers repaired it by using parts from two bad components and making one good one, but it was obvious that we couldn't do that for long."
Ben Sorrells and Dawn DeVries are currently in the Dominican Republic with seventeen others representing The Bridge.

The Mission Team is interacting with the very poorest of the poor. They are praying with young women on the streets.
While serving in the village of La Union Abajo in the Dominican Republic, the group made peanut butter sandwiches to hand out and visited the Dump.
On Thursday, June 14, 2018 - along with the villagers who will benefit most - they held a dedication ceremony for the Community Center which you helped to fund.
Thanks to you young boys and girls, women, and men in the village of La Union Abajo finally have some of the resources they desperately need. And hope.
