Story that Illustrates Wise Saying

This story is set in Bulawayo town where the narrator spends his holidays with his maternal uncle. He comes in contact with a family living in adjoining apartment. It is difficult for him to understand why they have constant misunderstanding and why it results in harmful clashes all the time. Everybody in that surrounding are quite aware of what is transpiring and they are very careful not to pokenose into their affairs.Anenyasha has no love lost for her husband Nlovu whom she has a baby girl for. She believes she can get away with casting aspersion on him and playing her neighbours against him to curry favour from them. She is expecting a new baby and she thinks that would restrain him from not replying him in kind.She is beaten black and blue; the matter comes to head when her sister comes to take her away and there is a plan at foot of suing for divorce. She assumes that that is the only way to steal his joy and she convinces herself that the female judge will rule in her favour judging from the point of view of being subjected to a domestic violence. The verdict calls on two of them to reconcile instead and the female judge insist on the man putting up a self-respectful disposition.
