Welcome back to Authentic Conversations, where we’re continuing the conversation on how an individual’s own hurt, heartache, tragedy, and struggle have shaped them as a person and allowed them to see themselves for who they were created to be.

In this episode, I’m diving into a topic that has been building up and weighing on my heart for a long time. In the wake of the recent tragedy in Nashville, I felt the need to lean into my faith more than ever, but sharing my faith-based opinions with others doesn’t always go to plan. I want to share my faith with others with love and understanding, and without fear, so I invite you to listen in on this conversation about my love for God and my faith in the path he has laid out for me, and for all of us.

I’ll get into:

  • Adopting a respectful and empathetic approach while addressing contentious issues
  • Understanding what it means to love others as God loves them
  • Cultivating love and understanding for others despite having differences
  • Conquering fears and getting past hurdles to progress spiritually
  • Defending faith in a respectful and considerate manner, without condemning others

In this episode, I’m flying solo for a deep dive into our past hurt, and the idea that harboring our wounds from the past can hinder our ability to be successful and achieve the things we desire. We all want the best for ourselves and those we care about, and understanding our past hurt and actually dealing with it is a difficult but necessary thing to do if we want our desires for success to be realized.

I’ll get into:

  • Three ways that past hurt can haunt us
  • Dealing with emotional baggage
  • Taking control of your inner dialogue
  • Getting over your fear of failure

Welcome back to Authentic Conversations, where we’re continuing the conversation on how an individual’s own hurt, heartache, tragedy, and struggle has shaped them as a person and allowed them to see themselves for who they were created to be.

In this episode, I’m sharing my belief that the reason people fail to achieve what they want in life comes not from the outside, but from within. We all have wounds, struggles, and doubts, but we can’t let those things hold us back forever. There needs to be a way through them to reach the success we were created to achieve, and I want to help you find it.

I’ll get into:

  • Finding that something inside of you that is holding you back
  • How childhood experiences can affect your self-image even now
  • Working with someone who will give you brutal honesty
  • Practicing mindfulness and becoming more self-aware
  • Setting goals to achieve, not to impress

In this episode, I’m giving you a look inside my head and my heart as I share my experience from a 3-day fast I completed with my local church- while I’m still fasting! Throughout my journey with this fast, I was able to reconnect with and appreciate parts of my faith that I’ve wrestled with over the years, and I had the chance to gain more perspective on where I’ve been and where I’m going in life. This was an incredibly powerful and emotional experience, and I hope that this episode encourages you to look deeper into your own faith and consider doing a fast yourself.

Amanda Kroeker is the founder of Valley Vintage Soap Co., a small business offering natural products for the skin and hair. With sensitive skin, she and her family tried an endless variety of products to make it resemble “normal”. Many products caused breakouts (even laundry soaps). They wanted all natural products, but most they found listed some ingredients that were baffling (even some of the “organic” ones), or they were ridiculously out of their price range. Being the lover of handmade items, they set out to make their own. They loved knowing & being able to pronounce all the ingredients. They loved how their skin felt & looked. They loved it so much, they wanted to share. Thus, Valley Vintage Soap Co. was born and remains a small owner-operated family business.

I met Amanda after being blown away by their products (Delicious Beard balm for the win!) and reaching out to thank her for her great product and service. It didn’t take long for me to consider Amanda a great guest for the podcast.

In this episode, Amanda and I talk about going the extra mile in serving customers, never compromising even when it costs you, and powerlifting! Check it out and let me know what you think!

5:42 – The extra mile to serve customers

8:00 – Why Amanda started Valley Vintage

12:11 – Having goals in business

14:30 – Who and what influenced Amanda’s pursuit of success

42:45 – An unassuming love for powerlifting

I took to Instagram and asked my followers what questions they had related to achieving goals in business.

It’s the end of the year and it’s time to start talking about goals right? Kind of. Now is the time to DO something about goals. If you are at all like me, talking about things (like goals) doesn’t accomplish much. When it comes to goals, it is too easy to:

  • Talk about them but never take action.
  • Set them and forget them.
  • Set wrong ones and miss them.

In order to set goals AND achieve them, you need these 3 things.

  1. Right perspective
  2. Serious motivation
  3. All-star tools

I also talk about evaluating your long-term business plan and/or strategy. This isn’t a set it and forget it so what must you do?

Enjoy this episode and as always, I look forward to your feedback.

In a recent response to my Instagram story, I was asked to discuss the topic of personal accountability. I love this topic, but before I get to practical steps, I need to address the deeper philosophical issue(s).

Solo episode 2 of The Exsellence Mindset is me getting to the root of some of our problems around productivity and accountability. Then finishes with a few key takeaways along with recommendations for more support and help.

Things to consider:

  1. Does what you’re doing matter?
  2. Are you more focused on getting everything done than getting the right things done?
  3. Do you go towards urgency or importance?
  4. What should be important?

After some thought and discussion with others, I decided to create some shorter podcast episodes along the way that address questions I get from business owners, entrepreneurs, and sales people as it relates to their pursuit of exsellence and success. These questions vary on everything from sales and marketing to productivity and habits.

This week, I received a question through an Instagram story response and the person asked:

“How should a small business owner incorporate sales into his/her daily routine?”

This is a great question and one I get asked often. In this episode, I provide some relief as well as a few practical tips to “Just Do It!”

I hope you enjoy.
