Surfing in Southern California is getting bigger every year with new people wanting to learn as well as older surfers getting back in the water. The crows are bigger and there is a high probability for confrontation. Fortunately there is room for all with the many breaks in the area all along the cost there is always a wave somewhere to surf. With the many different types of surfing styles you can always find a spot that will work for you and your friends. Beginners as well as expert surfers can still have fun in the waves. Come with me and lets explore the surfing culture in Southern California.

Not my blood but my friend got hit in the head with a board and got 9 stitches on the very top head. He will be out of the water for about two weeks.
Big surf day everywhere in Southern California. Newport Beach was the place I thought would be good and I was right. It was big and fun. Great size smooth and no wind. However still cold.
Surfing with sharks is never my idea of fun but they are there and what are you going to do? I 'm sure I don't want to get hit by a 300 hundred pound linemen in the NFL or get covered up by a avalanche skiing in Utah. Every sport has some risk. Do I wish there were not sharks? YES, but that’s part of surfing so??

Big day at the cliffs and had to save a friend who lost his board and panic because he couldn't get into shore.

Big day at Huntington Beach Pier, to big for beginners to be out, maybe to big for me. Surviving the angry ocean is not for the faint at hart I had to use all my knowledge of the ocean to not get hurt.
