Losing weight can be a challenge for anyone. The greater the amount of weight we have to lose, it seems, the worse our eating habits are, and the bigger our obstacles to weight loss become. One of the biggest obstacles in weight loss can be unhealthy food choices. Choosing the wrong foods, on a daily basis, can be what is keeping your weight exactly where it is, or even worse making the scale move up. Unfortunately, there are many unhealthy food choices available today that are dressed up as healthy foods. Here we are going to discuss some of these “healthy” unhealthy food choices and how they could be limiting your weight loss.

Empathy plays an important role in society because it allows each of us to connect with one another on a level that goes deeper than the superficial. It’s what implores us to take action when we see an animal or another human suffering rather than just standing over their despair feeling pity. Your mind -cbt unlocking -Weight loss goals
we must accept that life will be tough but in doing so, we can prepare for that toughness, we can come up with solutions and we can be fortified against any hardship that comes our way. In CBT or ‘Cognitive Behavioral Therapy’ – a more modern approach to psychology – the objective is to look at negative thoughts and beliefs and then challenge them and remove them. Let’s take a look at that ‘debt’ situation again shall we. Sure, it’s not ideal. But the worst case scenario is that you would lose your savings and go bankrupt. You might be forced to sell your house. But would you be homeless? No: you’d be on benefits. What if for whatever reason you weren’t provided with housing? Then you’d probably move in with your Mum, or with a friend. What if you couldn’t find work again? Well then, you could always work for a friend – or you could start a business. The point is: there is always a way. And yes life can be tough but that’s just part of its charm. It’s like a test and if you have a plan and you’re willing to put in the work, then you’ll be fine. Once you know this, you can tap into reservoirs of power and strength you never knew you had. And if you do the reverse: if you use visualization to picture the reason you’re doing what you’re doing and to see the tangible reward at the end of the road, then you can dip into an incredible well of motivation, creativity, power and determination. This is how you unlock the true potential of the brain and how you can achieve flow states and untapped power. In the full guides, we delve into all this in much more detail, so check it out and start using your brain to its fullest potential.

7 Reasons You Are Not Losing Belly Fat
Losing belly fat is one of the most challenging things we face in trying to achieve positive weight loss results. Why is it so hard to get this section under control? Our belly fat can be a predictor of a variety of things including insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, heart disease or cancer. Getting rid of your belly fat even once you stabilize your health conditions can feel impossible, but finding the cure has everything with understanding the cause. Here are seven reasons you are not losing belly fat. Age Our age can increase our belly fat. It is true that with age, our midsection can become susceptible to expansion. As we age, we lose muscle mass which in turn decreases the number of calories we burn. With time, our bodies tend to relish those pesky fat cells, increasing belly fat. Bad Workout Choices Your workout regimen may not be the best choice of exercises that will help to rid you of belly fat. What exercises are best for belly fat? You always want to choose those exercises that will create the burn. Crunches, walking, running, plank exercises, swimming, and even cycling can help you to burn belly fat with consistent performance effectively. Hormones Hormonal shifts can sometimes contribute to our midsection. Prevention Magazine identified that insulin resistance could have a nasty effect on the hormone leptin which helps our body to recognize when it is full and satisfied. If your leptin levels are out of whack, your body sometimes fails to immediately recognize that it is time to stop eating or that it is full. Food Choices Our dietary habits can completely ruin anything you are doing to take control of your belly fat. To shed those excess pounds, take steps to eat foods that are rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Lean protein can be another ally in your quest for a trimmer waistline. Try to steer clear of processed foods. They contain high levels of sugar and saturated fat. Too Much Soda Do you drink soda like its water? If so, it is highly likely that this beverage is contributing to the fat around your midsection. Studies show that people who drink sugary sodas have a higher risk of developing fat around their organs. People who manage to consume sugary drinks often are most likely to experience a gain of 27 percent more visceral fat than people who never drink them.

Relieve Arthritis Pain With These Exercises
For many years, people with arthritis were warned to limit their activities to protect their joints. Now, studies show that exercise actually helps ease arthritis pain and stiffness. Here are some major benefits of exercising with arthritis, and suggestions for how to work out safely.
The Benefits of Exercising:
Maximize your range of motion. People with arthritis often try to cope with the pain by holding their joints in bent positions that feel more comfortable. Unfortunately, this causes further loss of mobility Exercise helps to keep your joints as flexible as possible and prevent further damage.
Strengthen your muscles and bones. Strong muscles and bones provide more support and protection for fragile joints. Weight bearing exercises build up muscle and thicken your bones.
Lose excess weight. You burn a lot more calories when you're moving around, which of course helps with weight loss. A more active lifestyle will help you reach and maintain your ideal weight without resorting to dangerously low calorie diets.
Improve cardiovascular fitness. Endurance exercises that are gentle on your joints will make your heart work more efficiently without aggravating your arthritis. You'll feel more energetic and reduce your risk for many health conditions including heart disease and obesity.
Make daily activities easier. Stiff joints interfere with daily pleasures and tasks, from playing with your grandchildren to just buttoning a shirt. Exercise improves your ability to function and live independently.
Boost your mood. Living with chronic pain may cause depression. Physical activity elevates your mood and helps you sleep better. You can even make new friends by enrolling in group classes like tai chi or water aerobics Please like, subscribe and follow and share this with someone who is trying to live the FIT life!

We'll be training three non consecutive days a week, split into A workouts and B workouts. On week 1 we will do our A Workout on Monday and Friday and B workout on Wednesday. On week 2 we reverse the days and do our B Workout on Monday and Friday and B workout on Wednesday. This somewhat abbreviated schedule compared to what you have likely read in fitness or bodybuilding magazines is perfect for cutting fat, getting toned and building strength. There's no fear of over training, which is something that can cause your New Year's weight loss to grind to a stand still. All exercises should be done with a weight that causes you to fail with your last set. If you make your final rep goal increase the weight in your next session. Don't forget to keep a long to make sure you keep moving forward!
Workout A * Dumbbell Bench Presses. 4 sets of 8 reps. * Lat Pull Down. 4 sets of 8 reps. If you are strong enough sub pull ups for lat pull downs. * Barbell Curls. 4 sets of 10 reps. * Dumbbell or Machine Shoulder Presses. 4 sets of 12 reps. * Crunches. 4 sets to failure. Workout B * Barbell Squat or Machine Leg Press. 5 sets of 12 reps. * Barbell Stiff Leg Dead Lifts or Machine Hamstring Curls. 5 sets of 12 reps. * Seated Calf Raises. 4 sets of 12 reps. * Dumbbell Shrugs. 4 Sets of 8 reps. * Leg or Knee Lifts for Lower Abs. 3 sets to failure. And that's it! You can see on Week 1 we will be training our upper body twice and lower body plus some abs and our traps once. On Week 2 we will do our lower body twice and upper body once. Your quality of life is something that is determined by your own standards and ideals, but it is comprised of all the things that contribute to your happiness, health, ability to support yourself, how you spend your free time, and your satisfaction with your overall life. Quality of life is not just how happy you are or how much money you earn, but it is a measure of your overall well-being. Striking a balance is critical and knowing which areas of your life need support can also help you identify where to focus your energy. And no matter what, there is always work to be done that can improve your quality of life and help you feel more happiness and enjoyment. Because you are constantly evolving and your needs change, the process of personal growth and development never stops, which means there is always work that you can do to help improve your life. When you want to improve your life, you focus on changing what you do, which, over time, can improve how you feel, what you believe, and what you are able to accomplish. Immunity: Myths and Facts People have been told truths and myths about the human immune system, but how do you know what to believe and what not to? Here are a few myths and truths about your immune system that may or may not have heard before. Not getting enough sleep does not affect your immune system. MYTH. This is a huge myth about your immune system. When you can get at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night, you are allowing your body to fight back and reset in more ways than just for your immune system. If you are not getting enough sleep throughout the night, you start building up sleep debt, which will cause you to take naps more often or sleep in on the weekends. It would help if you allowed your body to get restorative sleep, which will allow your body to reset and get into fighting shape.

How To Stay Motivated In Your Weight Loss Routine
Truth be told, losing weight is easier said than done. No matter how vigorous and ambitious one starts off, it always gets harder before it gets easier. Having a personal trainer to keep you on your toes is helpful for most people. But without a strong inner drive, you might even find yourself dodging your personal trainer. It is possible, though, to develop a sustainable weight loss routine.
The secret is that your drive must come from within for you to be able to power through the times when your body is tempted to throw in the towel. Below are five of the most powerful techniques for staying motivated in your weight loss routine.
Be Clear About Your Reason for Wanting to Lose Weight Never lose sight of why you are engaging in your weight loss routine. Write down your reasons and review them before exercising. Keeping what you want for yourself front and center is a great way to maintain your routine and stay focused on your best interests. This will make you impervious to self-criticism or feelings of despair.
Gaining and maintaining a perfectly toned body is an ongoing process that will test your patience. But as long as you have your eye on the prize, each new day is a new opportunity to better yourself.

How to Understand The Presence Of A Subconscious Mind “It’s the repetition of affirmations that leads to belief. And once that belief becomes a deep conviction, things begin to happen” - Muhammad Ali
Many people assume that they are in full control of their life. They fail to realize the simple fact that not everything works according to plan. Not everything is within our control. Among these is our subconscious mind.
The subconscious mind has both its advantages and disadvantages. Most people unknowingly use the subconscious mind for harmful purposes. For instance, many people allow their subconscious mind to take control of them and dwell on negative thoughts. In extreme cases, this may lead to depression and worse, suicide. 23
This is just one simple example. Often these negative thoughts make us feel the need to accept it.By nature, we are prone to look and accept at the negative side of things more than the positive ones. Let us take a simple example to prove this case. Do you remember the day you lose someone? In most cases, the answer will be yes. What comes after this is the affirmation of your feeling, be it positive or negative. It isthe subconscious mind that plays themajor role in dealing with these feelings. It will either lead you to happier or a sadder one. If you are constantly expecting something positive about an event, the chances to receive positive outcomes are high as well. No matter the events or past experience you’ve gone through.
This is similar if your reception towards an in event is negative. Chances are you will receive a negative upturn. Both scenarios happened because your subconscious mind has accepted the fact.
The subconscious mind plays a major role on how we perceive and project ourselves. When you utilize the subconscious mind in a positive way, then it can bring a huge advantage in your life and change your life for the better. Since it involves emotions and feelings, therefore having a positive subconscious mind possesses the power to heal negativity.

11 signs of unhealthy eating patterns
Food is intended for the human body as sustenance and nutrition. Truly, that is its only intent. It is meant to provide essential nutrients that work to support internal bodily process and nutrify major organs. It provides us with energy and is essential for the proper physical development of children.
Somewhere along the way, we have seriously lost touch with this fact. Of course, the endless rows of goodies at the supermarket, and unlimited choices of junk food have not helped us in any way.
Healthy eating still eludes many of us, as America struggles with obesity and lifestyle choices are the leading cause of premature death from diseases like that of the heart that result from them.
Obesity is at epidemic levels in the US. According to the Centers For Disease Control: 35.1% of adults age 20 or older were obese and 69% of adults age 20 or older were overweight or obese , that’s more than 50% of the US population!
Children as young as 5 years old are being diagnosed with obesity, which maybe the biggest tragedy of all. According to the Centers For Disease Control: Obesity rates have more than doubled in children and quadrupled in adolescents in the past 30 years. More than 1/3 of children and adolescents were overweight or obese.
Of course, poor eating habits put you at risk for more than just obesity because when the body does not have proper nutrition, it poses other serious health risks. hypertension (high blood pressure) increase chances for stroke High cholesterol, which is the main cause of heart disease, the #1 killer of Americans. Gout nutrition is a high risk factor for breast, colon and bladder cancers, just to name a few.
No doubt, you have repeatedly heard that you should eat healthy and which foods constitute “healthy foods,” this information may not be sinking in or it may not be enough. All of us have eating habits, and for many these habits or patterns are not conducive to good health. Evaluating your eating habits closely is an important step in improving your diet for the better. Let’s look at 11 ways to know if you have unhealthy eating patterns

We all have some good habits, as well as some bad ones. The only problem is too many of us don't know how to eliminate the bad habits from our lives. Even more, people confess to wanting to stop their bad habits but struggle when it comes to removing them for good. Before you can successfully destroy your bad habits, you have to know exactly what a habit is. A habit is a routine of behavior that is repeated continually, and that occurs in the subconscious mind, which is why so many people aren't fully aware of their bad habits. The key to overcoming your bad habits is first to develop some insight into the origin of the habit. Ultimately your life is a sum of your habits. The process of building a habit can be divided into four categories: • The cue • The craving • The response • The reward
Breaking your habits down into these fundamental categories can help you understand what a habit is, how it works, and how you can break it. This is known as the habit loop. Primarily, a cue is developed, which, when activated triggers a craving. The craving then motivates a response, which provides your brain with a reward, which satisfies the desire, and ultimately becomes associated with the cue. Together, these four things end up forming a neurological feedback loop that eventually allows you to develop automatic habits. Fortunately, there are many ways that you can destroy your bad habits and keep them away for good. Which one works best will depend entirely on your individual circumstances and specific inclinations. Please like, subscribe and follow and share this with someone who is trying to live the FIT life!

Success is a habit, sure. But to pick up this habit, you have to have the right mindset. You can force things and hang on to your old mindset while adopting new habits, but these eventually wear off.
Successful people do certain things consistently, and that's why they achieve a higher degree of success than most other people. But there's more to it than that. It's not just a matter of doing certain things over and over again given certain circumstances. its without changing your mindset, you eventually end up where you began. How come? You built your new habits on a faulty mental foundation.
You had the wrong mindset. Your success habits eventually fall apart. You have to make sure that you adopt the right mental foundation from the onset. Your mindset is a combination of your assumptions, expectations and definitions.
Most successful people share a range of mindsets that enable them to maintain their success habits. In fact, they scale these up over time.
Don't for a second think that these people were somehow born with these mindsets. They weren't. In fact, many did not even have a clue when they began. Through trial and error and the hard knocks of life, many arrived at their winning mindset.
Thankfully, you don't have to go through those heartbreaks and frustrations. You don't have to go through trial and error. You can get a head start by identifying and adopting the mindsets that can lead you to consistent victory. This training teaches you to reprogram yourself for success by adopting 8 key mindsets. Each of these mindsets have their own subset of beliefs. You need to go through these and incorporate them into your life for them to change your results.
How Does This All Work? Mindset changes your beliefs. If you don't have the right mindset, you're going to have certain beliefs that are not going to help you all that much on your road to success. In fact, in many cases, certain limiting beliefs can hold you back and drag you down from the success that you could have otherwise achieved. Your mindset has to lead to the right belief. These beliefs shape your emotional response to the things that are happening around you, your priorities, your values, and your life's direction. That's how important they are. Be mindful of what you choose to believe. The good news? Belief is always a choice. It may seem like people were just born believers in the right things. It may appear that some people just have the right belief system as far as success is concerned. These have to come from somewhere. They were chosen.

The Good and Bad of Cholesterol - Made Easy
In a world that is filled with a wealth of conflicting evidence online and various opinions from health professionals (or not professionals), it can be very difficult to determine which diet will be best for your goals - never mind which diet is best for your cholesterol levels.
There is conflicting science on specific foods and how they may or may not have an impact on your health, but what we can all agree on is that high cholesterol levels are correlated to atherosclerosis and heart disease.
When it comes to cholesterol, it is important to understand that cholesterol itself is not a bad thing. However, too much cholesterol in the body does have strong correlations to chronic diseases.
Cholesterol is, by definition, a type of protein that the body already creates. In fact, the body creates two types of cholesterol - these are HDL’s and LDL’s.
You may have heard that there are good and bad cholesterols, but it is important to reinforce the idea that there is not necessarily a bad cholesterol, but too much of anything could be harmful to your health. Binge Eating Disorder CHECKLIST Binge eating disorder (BED) is the most common eating disorder in the United States. An estimated 3.5% of women, 2% of men, and 30% to 40% of those seeking weight loss treatments can be clinically diagnosed with binge eating disorder. Binge eating disorder is characterized by recurring episodes of binge eating, feeling out of control while binging, and feeling guilt and shame afterward. A “binge” can vary widely in the amount of food consumed. While it might mean a considerable amount for some, it can mean a smaller amount for others. Regardless of the amount of food eaten, the person still feels out of control to stop, with distress following the episode. Check any that apply to you. Bring this checklist to your next session to discuss your responses. Binge eating disorder is characterized by several behavioral and emotional signs: Recurrent episodes of binge eating occurring at least once a week for three months Eating a larger amount of food than normal during a short time frame (any two-hour period) Lack of control over eating during the binge episode (feeling you can’t stop eating or control what or how much you are eating) 1
Binge eating episodes are associated with three or more of the following: Eating until feeling uncomfortably full Eating large amounts of food when not physically hungry Eating much more rapidly than normal Eating alone out of embarrassment over quantity eaten Feeling disgusted, depressed, ashamed, or guilty after overeating. Wed workouts : Functional Fitness Series pt 1 Functional fitness defined Functional Fitness Defined You may not have heard of the term functional fitness before reading this, but the truth is that functional fitness is all around you. Functional fitness refers to a type of fitness where you keep your body moving in simulated routines that resemble everyday tasks.
Complimenting Functional Fitness with Your Lifestyle As mentioned earlier, hoping for the perfect 10 out of 10 body is unrealistic and quite impractical. The basic aim should always be maintaining a healthy body you as a person are satisfied with.
Is Functional Fitness Right For You? In contrast to popular belief, any given fitness program might not be a good fit for separate individuals. Though society has now made it something very normal, you may not fit in with this group of people that can work themselves to the bone.

MAKE HEALTHIER DESSERTS The Easiest Ways to Make Healthier Desserts You can cook and bake healthier desserts that will make your family smile and lick their plates. You simply have to adjust some ingredients and techniques to make them a reality. Try these ideas:
Use more fruit. Using fruit instead of sugar is one of the easiest ways to create healthier desserts.
Fruit has naturally high levels of sugar, but it's also packed with vitamins, minerals, and fiber. It's better for you to eat an apple than a donut because the donut won't provide you with vitamins, minerals, or fiber.
Fruits like bananas, strawberries, blueberries, and others are easy to incorporate into many recipes. They can help you reduce the amount of white or brown sugar you add to recipes. They can also help you create a unique taste to your desserts that will amaze your family.
Change your butter or oil. Another way to make healthier desserts is to change the butter and oil in the recipes. Butter and oil can add fat and extra calories to your dishes.
Instead, use applesauce. Many healthier desserts taste better with applesauce instead of butter or oil.
Another option is to use mashed beans instead of oil.
Tofu can also work as a substitute for butter. You simply have to ensure it's soft and pureed.
Switch to whole flour instead of white flour. By switching the type of flour you use, you can get a healthier dessert. Many recipes allow you to use whole flour instead of white flour.
Whole flour adds fiber that is necessary for a strong digestive system. Sadly, many desserts don't have much fiber.
Use beets to reduce sugar. It's hard to make a sweet dessert without sugar, but beets can help you cut down the total amount you need. You can use raw, grated beets instead of some of the sugar in a recipe. New Monday SERIES! 180FIT Mindset Mastery part 1 of 8-Understanding the mind
A lot has been written about the concept of the mind and developing mental strength for greater success. We all know a lot of the literature with regard to the law of attraction, mastering the mind, and developing good habits to last a lifetime. Yet really developing these practices consistently over time is quite difficult. It is especially difficult when faced with modern-day challenges which seem to be designed to drain away our energy. Developing a strong mindset entails consistent practice over prolonged periods of time. It a sense of practicality and discipline that is all too often forgotten. It would be a mistake to think that the law of attraction is easy or that meditation will immediately alleviate depression. But if you seriously commit to developing your mindset so that you can focus on what you want over the long-term, then the results will be life-changing. To do so, you will need to learn to rely on yourself. As per Indian philosopher Krishnamurti “A theory based on another man’s experience in matters of the psyche or of an inward life has no meaning at all.... We have to let it go completely because we have to stand alone. 5 Signs You Eat Behind Mental Hunger Not Physical Hunger
There are many reasons that you eat, but not all of these have to do with the physical need for food. In fact, many of the motivations that cause you to reach for a snack or eat more have nothing to do with your nutritional needs and everything to do with your mental and emotional desires.
And learning the difference between psychological and physical hunger can help you stay on track and make healthier choices in your diet. Reach out to me 180fit@gojenfitness.com

We know that one of the major pitfalls of any punishment is that when a behavior is punished, it’s simply suppressed- not changed. When we take away the threat of punishment, then the bad or undesirable behavior returns. Also, punishment only encourages hostility and anger as a correct response to a situation because it doesn’t teach us what we should do. Punishment is only capable of teaching us what we shouldn’t do (McLeod, 2018). Punishment also teaches generalized fear and anxiety. 5 Lessons Learned From Our Greatest Leaders
The only way to become a good leader is by doing. As you do, you will inevitably make mistakes, and in every mistake, there is a lesson to be learned. You can also draw from the lessons that we have learned from the great leaders of our past. History is there to be learned from, so it makes perfect sense to look into the legacies of those we hold up as examples of excellent leadership. As you strive to become a better leader, you can reflect on the lessons learned from the leaders we revere.
The Past Is A Lesson Just like you learn from your own past, so too can we learn from the world’s history. Historic leaders have been through epic trials and tribulations and these are often similar to those that we experience, perhaps on a grander scale. Either way, from this we can learn how best to succeed (or recover from failure). You can draw from your own mistakes, but learning lessons from those who have gone before us can help you avoid making certain mistakes.
Character Counts It’s who you are when nobody is looking. What you do in front of others matters, too. Benjamin Franklin lived by thirteen critical virtues (https://www.pbs.org/benfranklin/pop_virtues_list.html). We recognize Gandhi's self-discipline and restraint, the honesty of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, and the courage of Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King. All products of their character. Character counts, and it’s part of your reputation.
You Have To Take Risks Be bold and in your courage, accept that you will experience failure. Sometimes, though, failure is crucial to success. Just look at Abraham Lincoln. In 1858, he ran for a seat in the Illinois Senate. He lost. Just two years later he was running (and winning) for the Presidency. It took years of determination and battles before George Washington was successful in his fight against the British. Nelson Mandela found himself sitting in a jail cell for 27 years. The odd failure is good for the soul, it pushes you out of your comfort zone, and offers you an opportunity to improve.
You’re Not A Victim Whether your education was lacking, you were poor or you didn’t have the support you truly needed, you have the strength to rise above it. You can overcome just about anything to succeed. All it takes is grit, determination, passion, courage, and commitment. Albert Einstein couldn’t get into college. Benjamin Franklin’s formal education stopped at the age of 10. The very first business that Bill Gates started was a complete and utter failure. FDR, arguably one of the greatest US presidents, was paralyzed from the waist down and still won four presidential elections. He also found ways to walk and stand unaided. You are what you make of yourself.
Self-Discipline Is Key Despite the fact that Abraham Lincoln has little formal education he was constantly reading in an attempt to expand his horizons. Benjamin Franklin used his thirteen virtues to improve his character. History is littered with great leaders who have amazing lessons to teach us. Part of becoming a great leader is continuously working on yourself, pursuing your passions, and pushing yourself outside your comfort zone. No one can do that for you. You are the only one who can motivate yourself to become the leader you want to be. If you want to be an inspiring leader who provokes action, then you have to first lead yourself.
Study history, take in the lessons of the past. Allow the mistakes of others to shine a light onto your path. You can sit through leadership seminars and buy self-help books, but you can also delve into the minds of history’s greatest leaders for lessons on how to be a leader that truly leads.

Your well being should be a priority in your life, y et so many of us place our health on the back burner, leaving it unattended until it boils over on us.
Health seems to be something that's largely taken for granted. We feel invincible until it fails us. This is clearly the wrong attitude. If you take preventative action, you'll not only feel better, but your body will thank you by adding years onto your life!
Improve your Health for the Right Reasons
Nowadays many Americans are overweight. As a result, more people than ever are trying to slim down. The problem is a lot of us aren't trying to lose weight for the right reasons. If you need to lose weight, be sure to do it for yourself, not for anybody else.
Losing weight goes far beyond the superficial. Don't lose weight only in order to look good, but for your overall health and wellness.
When you try to improve yourself for other people, you can lose sight of your motivation if your relationship changes. The motivation needs to be within you, not someone else. The deeper your commitment to your health, the more difficult it is to cheat on a diet or forego exercise.
It's also important to realize that you must love yourself first before anyone else will. People are drawn to others who have self-confidence and self-respect. When you care about your well being, not only will you take better care of yourself, but others will be more likely to do the same.
Here are some ways you can put yourself first and take better care of your health:
See your doctor. If you haven't been to see a doctor in a while or are in need of an annual checkup, start by making an appointment to get your health evaluated. This will give you a good foundation for what improvements you need to make.
Find an exercise routine you can incorporate regularly into your lifestyle. It can be as easy as going for a walk. Just put on your shoes and get outdoors. The fresh air and the walk will do wonders for your health.

5 Essential Secrets to Emotional Well-Being
Your emotions help dictate your state of mind. This means that to keep your state of mind intact, it's necessary to have emotional balance. That way, you can make it through even the toughest times.
You can enhance your emotional well-being, so when challenging times come around, you'll be more prepared to handle them!
These strategies can help you manage your emotions effectively:
Identify your support system. It's very easy to experience emotional dips. This is especially true when you're making emotionally charged decisions.
Identify friends or family members who can be the voice of reason. While your emotions are cross-wired, it helps to have an external voice guiding you towards making an appropriate decision.
It's healthy to discuss various topics with members of your support system. It helps them see how you think in different situations.
Confront your emotions. Avoid hiding from negative feelings. Facing your emotions is the best way to overcome them. And the more you practice, the easier it will become to stay calm during emotional circumstances.
If you're heartbroken, it isn't healthy to try and pretend otherwise. Allow the reactions to come. If you feel like crying or screaming, go ahead. It will help you gain closure and a fuller understanding of your feelings.
It isn't necessary to question why you're feeling a certain way. Identify the source of the emotion and work at confronting it instead. Avoid apologizing for your emotions.
Celebrate your strengths. There's no better way to build emotional well-being than by celebrating your strengths. Identify your attributes, talents, and skills that make you feel confident. Remind yourself of how resilient and powerful you are.
Your strengths aren't to be taken lightly. They form your backbone.
Openly acknowledging your strengths sub-consciously helps you believe in yourself. In turn, you develop a sound emotional state.
Provide support to others. This goes hand in hand with relying on your own support team. Exposing yourself to the emotions of others helps you to process them better. You take things for face value. You can be impartial, fair, and just.
When you support others, you're required to be truthful and honest. Displaying honesty about someone else's emotions can help you develop the same honesty about your own.
Helping others work through challenges can make you appreciate all sorts of emotions and build up your own emotional well-being.
Keep your surroundings positive. Maintaining a positive environment is very important. It helps you concentrate on positive emotions and aids in the healing process. It's much easier to effectively manage your emotions when you're surrounded by positive energy.
Partake in activities you enjoy. This isn't an effort to dismiss your emotions. It's simply a tool for developing a positive mindset.
That positive mindset reinforces your ability to be impartial and fair. It's tempting to be hard on yourself, especially when you're surrounded by negative influences.
Remember that you have your emotions for a reason! They help you empathize with others going through similar situations and give you hope. Use these tips to enhance your emotional well-being. You'll be glad you did! Reach out to Jen

Top 10 Tips to Ease Chronic Pain Without Medication
Chronic pain isn't an easy condition to handle, but you can take control. Simple changes in your lifestyle, diet, and exercise routines can help ease your pain.
Try these techniques to experience relief:
Manage stress. Stress can increase chronic pain and make it more difficult to manage. Try a variety of strategies to relax and reduce stress to see which ones work the best for you.
Yoga and meditation are two stress-reduction strategies that can help.
Try breathing exercises. By simply focusing on your breathing, you can relax your muscles and reduce pain. Deep breathing exercises can also reduce blood pressure, eliminate stress, and decrease the heart rate.
Find fun distractions. Instead of concentrating on the pain, try distractions that help you forget about it.
Hobbies and activities such as watching your favorite movie or reading a new book can help. You may also want to try drawing or other ideas that help you fill your time and avoid thinking about the pain.
Increase your water intake. Dehydration can make chronic pain worse.
Avoid inflammatory food. Fast food and processed food can increase inflammation in your body, so your chronic pain also increases. Foods with a lot of sugar and salt also contribute to inflammation and increased pain.
Add more anti-inflammatory food. On the other hand, nuts, leafy greens, fatty fish, berries, and other items can help you fight inflammation and reduce pain. They have antioxidants that fight damage on the cellular level.
Focus on posture. Posture can help reduce the stress on your back and cut down on chronic pain.
Consider the way you sit and stand. Experts recommend that you avoid slumping your shoulders and lowering your head. The spine should be straight, so circulation is better.
Discuss your health. Researchers have found that talking about your health can reduce pain. The American Psychological Association points out that talking about your pain can help you discover management techniques.

Best Ways to Prevent and Heal Shin Splints
Shin splints, also known as tibial stress syndrome, are a common name for pain that affects the lower leg when it's been subjected to too much pressure. Whether the causes are muscle or bone damage, most cases respond well to simple home treatments. Even better, you can usually prevent shin splints by adjusting your workout routine.
How to Prevent Shin Splints
Pace yourself. Overuse is the most common cause of shin splints. Increase the intensity of any workout gradually. Most runners can safely increase their distance by ten percent or less a week.
Buy the right footwear. Ensure your shoes are appropriate for your chosen sport and provide adequate support and padding. Keep them in good shape. Serious runners usually need new shoes about every 500 miles.
Consider arch supports. People with flat feet are more vulnerable to shin splints. That's also true if your feet pronate or supinate, meaning they twist in or out. You can find arch supports in various sizes and shapes at drugstores and other retailers. Your doctor can also help you get custom made supports based on a plaster cast of your foot.
Examine your workout surfaces. Stick to surfaces that absorb impact like grass and sand. Avoid concrete, which may be lurking under the rug in some exercise studios.
Be cautious about sudden stops and starts. Playing basketball or just running for a bus can put a lot of stress on your shins. If you've been sedentary for a while, start out slow.
Stay on level ground. Running downhill or exercising on a slanted surface also increases the pressure. Walking up the stairs is good exercise but take the elevator down. Find out more in today’s episode. Reach out to Jen

A lot of people struggle with weight. According to Health Data, some 160 million Americans are overweight or obese. According to the Centers For Disease Control, 2/3 of American adults are overweight or obese. Those numbers are depressing. We all gain weight in different ways. Some of us pack on the pounds as we get older, some people gain weight due to a health issue or an injury, while others eat the wrong things. Typically, we diet by eating less. We may exercise more as well, but our weight loss journey revolves entirely around diet and exercise. While that is a big part of weight loss, there is one aspect of it that we overlook. Our thoughts and behaviors play a major role in the challenge. Typically, we fall into a pattern of yo-yo dieting. We lose the weight, drop the diet, gain it back, and the cycle repeats itself ad nauseam.
All of these common and unhealthy habits are acts of sabotage and they all come down to your mindset. A positive mindset, one that is pro weight loss will prompt you to make the right decisions, to make healthy choices. A positive mindset will help gear you toward success. Day Nine – Gaining Support
It’s important that you garner support from the people around you. You have to consider who will offer you appropriate support. You don’t want someone who will respond with judgment, fear or even jealousy. This person (or these people) should be highly supportive. Think about whom you wanted to share your vision board with, one of those people is your support. This is someone who should help you maintain your positive mindset.
Create a Support System That Actually Supports You
Life is challenging. Life is even more challenging when you're forced to face it alone. Life is also more enjoyable when others are along for the ride. If you find yourself without the support system you need, it's time to create one. Perhaps the best advice is to be supportive of others. People naturally reciprocate. Be supportive and you'll receive support.

PSYCHOLOGY IS 99% OF WEIGHT LOSS

Maybe it is a food addiction, smoking, drugs, shopping or even hitting the snooze button.Truth from research and my own experience Today we look at stage 1 The Six Stages in the Process of Self-Change Change is not an event, but a process. Change happens through a series of stages, and most successful self-changers fail at least once before they succeed. Willpower alone won’t do it. You need to understand the cycle of change, or you risk substituting one bad habit for another, as so often happens when ex-smokers satisfy their craving for “something” by overeating. Success depends on having the right information and knowing how to use it. Researchers have identified six clear stages in the process of successful self-change: 1. Denial 2. Awareness 3. Preparation 4. Action 5. Maintenance 6. Termination reach out to me at 180fit@gojenfitness.com

7 Strategies for Preventing a Relapse
Relapse is a term that’s usually used in talking about alcohol and drugs. However, it can be applied to any habit.
Maybe you stuck to your diet for weeks, and then overindulged at an office birthday party. Maybe you went 10 years without a cigarette, and then bought a pack when you broke up with your boyfriend or girlfriend.
Remember that your ultimate success in developing healthy habits is more important than any backsliding.
Use these suggestions to prevent and recover from relapses.
Preventing a Relapse
Think of relapses as part of a process rather than unpredictable events. If you pay attention to what you’re feeling and thinking, you may be able to avoid a setback. Need help? Reach out to me at 180fit@gojenfitness.com

True courage is acting despite the fear you feel. It’s acting and thinking fearlessly, even though you feel that fear deeply. If you let it fear will paralyze you. It will stop you in your tracks and prevent you from moving forward. You may think of people who act and think fearlessly as reckless. The reality of the matter is that this type of action and thinking benefits you. Acting with courage benefits you. Thinking with courage benefits you.The people who live a life of courage grab the opportunities that come their way. The people who live a life of courage chase down their dreams and they get what they want from life. They are capable of building the life they have always dreamed of because they don’t let fear stand in their way. Nelson Mandela said, “I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.” The courageous stand against injustice, whether it’s a threat against them, someone they care about or, someone in need. The courageous are willing to take actions that consistently align with their values. That action isn’t always loud or in your face, sometimes it’s thoughtful, subtle, and quiet. As Winston Churchill said, “Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen “ Today Jen takes us on a journey discover what courage is and how to actually face fear in a responsible and empowering way.

I am well aware of the constant struggle many face to maintain a healthy body image while also enjoying life.
Losing weight is half mindset related and half practical.
My goal is to both inspire and educate your clients on as they make progress to living a healthy life. You can find plenty of fitness gurus on instagram and facebook eager to tell you how to get skinny thighs or six-pack abs. However, their impressive photos and celebrity testimonials may be misleading. How can you distinguish between fitness myths and reliable facts... Today Is all about shedding light on the top 5 myths floating around social media and are consistent with time. As mentioned in the show, I created a survey so I could better serve everyone on this journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle.. I figure rather than guessing what everyone needs and what struggles are out there, I would just ask! So I’m asking! If you fill this surgery out then I will send you a 180FIT t-shirt and a free month to my 180FIT app that will be launched in a couple weeks, my six week nutrition guide and program ( comes in vegan and non-vegan) and a few other cool resources:) please feel free to share this with anyone as I truly desire to get as much feedback as possible and offer you all posts, workshops and training that truly help you and are worthy of your time. Thank you so much for taking the time to fill out the survey:) here is the link!
