The Young Adult Ministry of Faith Chapel San Diego believes this podcast to be a rich spiritual investment into your walk with God. Take your walk with King Jesus to another level! The passionate Christian lifestyle is the only way to roll.
Sometimes it’s hard to see the significance in the plan God has for you. It’s easy to feel insignificant when you can’t find the purpose in your life. Some things in life are worth going back and taking another look. It’s time to go back and “look again” at the thing you’ve deemed insignificant.
How far can desperation take you? We have some amazing Biblical examples from Mark chapter 5 of how far it can take 2 individuals. When you're motivated from a place of desperation, incredible things can happen. How do we live desperate for the things of the Kingdom on a daily basis and leverage Kingdom realities into our world today? Let's dive in.
The man possessed with a legion of demons has one encounter with Jesus that so radically changed him...it also prepared an entire region for Jesus. Jesus, and His disciples, sailed across the Sea of Galilee, endured and calmed the storm, because Jesus was on mission to find this one man. The potential inside this one individual was greater than perhaps anybody thought. The devil knew this and stacked the deck against him...but Jesus wasn't letting that happen.
There is so much that takes place in an unseen realm. There are bigger things happening all around us that do not appear big to the naked eye. In fact, much of the time, they appear rather small...much like the beginnings of Christianity. If we can learn to recognize and honor the small beginnings of things, I think we'll find ourselves positioned for some remarkable BIG things happening, right in our midst.
Jesus was in an entirely different state of being in the middle of the storm than the disciples. He was completely at peace and at rest. They were freaking out...losing their minds. Perhaps His state of being is an invitation to transform ours. Where He's at...isn't just where we should be...but a means of how to get there. Let's dive into this incredible invitation to truly "altar/alter" our state of being.
Joel takes us into an incredible passage of Scripture with some FOR TODAY implications. Jesus, in a monumental moment asking His disciples to stay awake, to watch and pray with Him has much to say to us here, towards the end of 2020. What's He saying specifically to you?
What is the purpose of the light that we carry? Are we stewarding well the Kingdom seeds landing on our soil and are we being responsible over the light that we carry...or worse yet are we hiding it? Pastor Josiah takes us on a journey to understand how to be visible yet disappear at the same time, where all people see is Him. Shine on.
One of Jesus' most notable parables, the parable of the sower brings us some fresh thoughts concerning the heart. Are you capable and ready of receiving whatever the Lord may be speaking to you in this present moment. If the heart gets ready, you'll seek Him unlike ever before! He becomes the desire of your heart in all things.
Have you ever felt like you didn't belong? You perhaps felt you were unwanted or even undesired. Have you ever felt that way with God? Sure, you probably know that He accepts you and loves you, but do you really FEEL that? You're His adopted son or daughter. He has chosen you. It was His choice...and He chose you. He wouldn't take back that choice for anything or anybody else. He wants you...PERIOD! Believe it. Feel it. Experience that reality
Continuing in our journey through the book of Mark, Pastor Josiah takes us into some wonderful moments Jesus had in a particular place. Furthermore what that means for us today is breathtaking. This is for everybody! I fit in the Kingdom of God. I'm wanted and there's something only I can contribute to the Kingdom of God.
Jesus' great intention was to get the life-transforming message into the people's hearts. But, through obedience to the Father, He prepares their hearts to make sure it sticks by a miraculous adhesive. This was not random happenstance. This was divine wisdom and strategy from Heaven...and it still works today.
Jesus steps into a synagogue and calls forward a man with a deformed, withered hand. But He doesn't just minister to the man, He also creates a powerful object lesson for the critically watching religious leaders that were there. They were looking at Jesus, just with all the wrong intentions. Are you willing to step forward when Jesus says come? What if He asks you to do something you know you can't do? Take the risk. Take steps of faith. Watch Jesus without any stones of accusations on your pockets...watch Him to learn how to live!
Are you the dominant influence when you're around people? If not, you'll always have to be careful who you're around. Jesus hung around people He knew He was influencing into the Kingdom. Pastor Josiah also takes us into some context concerning remaining pliable, ready for new wine and some thoughts concerning the Sabbath and the year of Jubilee - which Jesus changed at the Cross.
There's a connection between physical affliction and sin. Both in the old and new testaments it's covered. Jesus addresses it directly at the beginning of Mark chapter 2. Pastor Josiah takes us deeper into connecting these 2 dots while downloading revelation from the heart of the Father in relation to the two. One thing is clear...The Father cares about healing our whole being. Primarily what is eternal.
We're designed to experience God is the most intimate ways possible. Not just reading, or even talking...but something deeper. The same is true for how we interact with each other, or experience each other. This truth bleeds into our relationship with Him. How do we deal with healing? Is it God's intention to heal? Does He want to? Is He willing? We're left with so many questions, usually based off of our own life-experiences and trying to reconcile what we read in the Scriptures. There's much to uncover concerning this topic, Pastor Josiah tee's up this topic of discussion which will be visited again and again throughout the Gospel of Mark.
Jesus is building His team and a Kingdom Message...how in Capernaum where He's setting up base camp and He's not only preaching the message, but He's demonstrating the authority and power He has over sickness and the demonic realm. This is taking place both in the church and in the homes. It's one thing to be able to talk, its quite another to be able to talk the talk and walk the walk...JUST LIKE JESUS!
At the very beginning of Jesus' ministry, the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness to be tested by the devil. It was a proving ground to show Jesus and the world how completely ready He was for the task at hand. If we have fractions in our obedience we'll have fractures in our integrity. It's crucial to be tested to ensure we're ready for all He leads us into. Those all around are holding out for our full obedience and in tact integrity.
There's a lot of action packed into a few short verses. Jesus' water baptism is a monumental moment in time filled with revelation and insight for personal application. The story, laced with Beloved Identity is one rich to dig into. Pastor Josiah takes us into this set of verses, track with us!
There's a distinct difference between the Zadok priesthood and the rest of the Levitical priests. What this means for us today is a crucial revelation we all must learn. It's simple, yet profound. Life-changing if you will. Pastor Josiah takes us into a deep-dive message on The Remnant Priesthood as he ties up our True - Spiritual - Worship series with a bang.
What does your worship do for those around you? What does worship do for the atmosphere you're currently in? HIS PRESENCE AFFECTS EVERYTHING AROUND US! Let's dive into some Scriptural examples of this happening and what it means for us today in 2020
It's no secret that we're in a spiritual battle. How we war, while in the midst of this battle is very different than perhaps we think. Worship is an incredible weapon against the enemy. When we war, our crosshairs are not on the devil, but on Jesus!
Worship is far more than just music, but music certainly has a place in the worship dimension. Music was initially God's idea. We're all called to be worshippers but that doesn't mean we're all gifted musically. Nevertheless unearthing a musical facet to our worship is wildly beneficial.
Pastor Josiah picks the brains of worship leaders Alfonso Hernandez & Brian Smith. Unique persons that are called to lead others into the presence of the Lord, carry a tremendous weight upon their shoulders; their responsibility is great. What insights can be provided from people in such a position? Alfonso & Brian bring us into their expertise with humility and revelation sure to benefit any worshipper.
Worship is for Him and no other. What we do with the degree of the presence of God in a moment helps determine what happens next. Remaining in a worshipful lifestyle where He is the target of our affection should be the aim of every Believer.
Diving deeper into the worshippers lifestyle, we look at one of the fundamental characteristics of worship which is sacrifice. Worship is for Him...and His greatest sacrificial desire is us. We remain the passionate desire of His heart.
Everybody worships something or someone. Who or what are worshipping and what does that look like? Has worship gotten twisted in the modern church? What did Jesus mean when He said that He's looking for true worshippers who worship Him in spirit & truth? There's much to chew on here! Take the journey with us and watch an increase of your appetite for Almighty God develop.
It's during seasons of great crisis where the validity of our faith is proven. We see this throughout Scripture and throughout our personal lives. How we're responding to this Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is crucial for the church. To see the window of opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus and to respond in kind. To not just steer away from fear, but to activate GENUINE FAITH
Community may look different given the nations current situation, but in no way do we need to sacrifice relationships. Staying connected is even more crucial TODAY than ever before.

Communication is so crucial for any relationship. Let's explore some thoughts concerning valuable communication with God, with family and with ourselves. Each of which, are absolutely essential in the life of the healthy Believer.
How crucial is the relationship between parents and their children? Natural parenting and spiritual parenting? What was Zechariah's insight towards his son to be born, John the Baptist. What was Paul's relationship like with Timothy? What does that mean for us...today, in how we raise our kids and the spiritual parenting relationships we have with people in our lives. I believe God cares DRASTICALLY about these relationships. In fact, they are likely a huge piece of our overall purpose.
FC Midweek Service welcomes Pastor Josiah's dad, George Elias as he brings a powerful word which has literally been taught in multiple nations around the world. We live in an increasingly sexualized culture. How we treat each other and ourselves within this culture, in light of what God says and how God empowers His people is crucial. Protecting purity. Advancing your walk towards God. Refusing to compromise. Choosing to build freeways within the brain that lead to Kingdom things builds a platform for Rom.12:2 to be lived out. Freedom is available to the desperate and hungry willing to say, "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!"

Launching into our You Me God series, where we'll be covering relationships of several different kinds. While dealing with God, trust, $, sex, pornography, communication, dating, beauty, family & much more! Our God is a relationship in and of Himself, He's a triune God, eternally existent in 3 persons. Seeing how our relationship with Him affects every other relationship we have is crucial to understanding how we're called to live and act, both with Him and with others.
Old doesn't necessarily deal with time. Going through a process of renewal keeps us new again. We'll discuss the wine-skin concerning this thought, then pray into what 2020 has to offer as far as a window of unusual proximity to God, to find grace for this.
Our ability to see what's coming in 2020 has much to do with what we're currently hearing. Our hearing and our vision is connection. Pastor Josiah pulls some revelation from the Lord out of Luke 18 & 19 and it's spiritual relevance for this year, 2020.
Easily the most controversial, and arguably the one of the most beneficial of gifts is the gift of tongues. Utilized for both private devotion and public edification, this wonderful gift is monumental concerning the spiritual development of the believer and the Church. Breaking down it's functionality and it's place in a church service is key to moving forward with clarity and power, which we desperately need.
Prophecy is one of the most crucial and beneficial gifts of the Spirit. Much is said throughout the Scriptures concerning this wonderful gift. We need guidance and understanding concerning how to accurately and respectfully, in full obedience speak the word of the Lord in every given situation. We need an ear to hear...and a mouth to speak what He's already saying to us.
Maintaining a trimmed lamp in the presence of the Lord is the responsibility of each Believer. So much goes into ensuring our flame is maintained and pure. George Elias pulls some incredible insight from the topic and shares an inspiring message full of insight and powerful Scripture.
Continuing our discussion on healing and the Kingdom manifested by the King of the Kingdom, the Healer Himself. Then diving into the working of miracles, a remarkable gift the Scriptures are full of. This display of power is evident both in Biblical times and today.
Jesus is interested in complete healing. Not just physical healing, not JUST spiritual healing or healing in the soul-is area of a person...but the entire being. He cares about all of us. Though it's inarguable that Spiritual healing is His primary concern, it does not mean that He doesn't care about the rest of us. As the Healer, He is looking to heal...all of us...from everything.
Without faith it is impossible to please God. There are times when a divine induced deposit of faith comes into us for a specific purpose and it's amazing what can happen in those moments. But we should not always depend upon that faith to come straight from God all the time. We have a measure of faith, a seed of faith that's designed to mature and grow. We need to see that faith develop, then watch what God can and will do through our willingness to believe.
First Love Conference is based on Rev.2:4 where the church of Ephesus is addressed as doing so many things right...but getting 1 crucial thing wrong...abandoning their first love. This is what we refuse to do! Our aim is to keep our first love...passionately protected, nurtured and advancing! This is not a marriage conference...it’s an invitation to a lifestyle of full surrender and a zealous pursuit of Almighty God. We want to leave a spiritual deposit deep in the heart of the entire family in attendance so that when the weekend is over, their lives and the lives they influence NEVER LOOK THE SAME AGAIN!

We all need to take ownership for what the Lord is doing in our own backyard. As Believers, we're not called to spectate, but to participate in what He's doing. There's a vital piece that we bring to the table...and if we didn't show, if we didn't pray...it would be missing. The Kingdom cannot afford this. LET'S DIVE IN...IN PRAYER AND WORSHIP, PREPARING THE ATMOSPHERE FOR FIRST LOVE CONFERENCE 2019.
Discerning of spirits is far more than just recognizing when angels or demons are at work. It's really discerning the spiritual realm. Both good and bad. Growing up, I often felt that this gift had a negative connotation to it. As if, it was some God-given insight to see what the devil was up too. What if this gift is better utilized to recognize what the Lord is up to in any given moment. Both sides of the coin have their place. All of us are called to recognize what's happening in the spiritual world around us.
One encounter can change everything. As we unpack this lively gift, we pull some Biblical examples as well as stories from TODAY how God has radically impacted the trajectory of someones life through the operation of the word of knowledge. As a empowered Christian...imagine what are we capable of THROUGH HIM!
If Jesus lived a sinless life for the first 30 years of His life...He was just an amazing man from the neighborhood who was full of kindness. It was His ministry to the earth, a ministry of compassion and power...replicating Himself into His followers that changed the world and created a way for mankind to be saved. We MUST to minister in that same power, and use the gifts of the Spirit He provided for us today. They are FOR TODAY, and the world needs us to have them.

You can have the power back. Having great understanding of what the fullness of the power is intended to do in the life of the Believer is wildly important. Understanding the purpose and intent of the power is equally so. Understanding when you've lost it and walking in such obedience you are sure to get it back is crucial for Christians to know and understand. Pastor Brian Ross takes us through an incredible study using the story of the sunken axe head of 2 Kings Chapter 6.
The message of the Gospel is designed to be accompanied by the demonstration of power. Having something to say without being able to back up what is spoken with a demonstration of His Spirit is a problem. Talk is cheap. However, talk with walk GOES A LONG WAY! Maybe...we haven't been doing it right... maybe some things need to change.
All that God is doing is to get you and I to look like Him, so we can represent Him well in the earth. He's constantly chiseling us. Chipping away at all the things that don't look like Him or reflect His image well. By the help of the Holy Spirit, He'll make us like Him TODAY!
Are you bearing fruit? By our fruit is how we'll be known. WE HAVE TO BEAR FRUIT!!! Not just once or twice...but cycles of fruit bearing! This is the lifestyle He's called us to live and this is the motivation of the sold-out ones!
Knowing who you are in Him is extremely important. Cimba, from Disney's The Lion King, forgot who he was and had no desire to fulfill his destiny to be king. It took Rafiki to help wake him up to who he really is. Perhaps the Holy Spirit of God is trying to wake you and I up to who we really are in Christ. Discover who you are, and fulfill what He's called you to become!
Before Jesus had even gone to the Cross, He told the Father that He had completed the work that He had called Him to do. What did he complete? He completed making disciples. Image Bearers to take His image to the earth and replicate Who He is in the earth. We're called to be disciples of intimacy who make disciples of intimacy. Reproducing who we are, not just what we teach to the world around us.
Spiritual disciplines set us up for great success. The source of all consistency...the Faithful One is Jesus, The Christ. Taking our cues from His consistency and spiritual disciplines will set every Believer up for incredible encounters with Him.
Our most dominate thoughts dictate our attitude which dictates our actions. So much begins in our minds. We have the mind of Christ...yet we so often choose to think carnally. Something's got to shift in our thinking if we're ever to be all He says we can be and all He's commissioned us to do. The Holy Spirit of God is here to instruct us how to do this! By yielding to Him in our thinking.
The Spirit gives life!! Why in the world do we walk around so defeated or so focused on ourselves when the truth is....HE GIVES LIFE!!!! We need a fresh yieldedness to the Spirit of God within us bringing NEW LIFE to the Believer willing to feed the Spirit and not the flesh.
Pastor Josiah takes us on a journey to knowing the The Spirit of God in an intimate and powerful way. While introducing the Person of the Holy Spirit this week, we learn that He is God...He is a Person and He is called to equip us to look and live like Jesus...IN EVERY WAY!
Pastor Brian brings to the table a unique story and Biblical truth concerning an age old controversial topic of discussion; alcohol. Let's set aside our preconceived notions and take an honest look at Scripture and see what God has to say on the topic.

In Beloved Identity, healing comes, past - present - future. It takes care of whatever we've gone through and trickles to the generations that follow. Our relentless worship, like David before the ark, stems from our identity as His beloved. Our choices influence our families and our identity supports this. When we do fall, even in Beloved Identity, we can always choose repentance. We always have a choice to make and if we choose wrong...He's there in loving arms, because we're His beloved...ready to forgive if our repentance is sincere.
Everybody needs the victory that we walk in...the victory founded upon our identity as the Beloved of Almighty God. David refused to tolerate certain things that king Saul was willing to tolerate. This led to trouble that continued on and on, David sought to kill what Saul was willing to tolerate. Jesus is the answer the world is looking for, they just don't know it's Him, nor do they know where to look...but they know where to find you...What will they find when they find you?
The hurting are attracted to BeLOVEd Identity. Those who walk in this identity are always holding their arms wide open to welcome anybody to draw nearer, even if they're broken or hurting. Who we follow matters. Refusing to allow fear to paralyze us but rather choosing to honor our fathers will shield us from the onslaught of the enemy and set us up for lasting presence-driven success in the loving embrace of the Father!
The things the enemy has been using to attack you, can be the very thing God uses to shove back in his face. When you're marked with BeLOVEd Identity and you're confident in EXACTLY who you are...the plans of the enemy backfire. You also gain an unprecedented access to the presence of the Lord in the place of intimacy. This is too good to pass up! "What you're not afraid of, is afraid of you". There's a confidence that comes from knowing our identity. Having the ability to see inside, who we really are rids us of any false truths we believe about ourselves. Refusing to let suspiciousness of others poison our minds or hearts is crucial. The ones fully conquered in Beloved Identity are secure in this. Pastor Josiah takes us deeper in the life of David and his relationship with king Saul and some of the strange family drama that takes place, but beyond that, how suspicious poison affects those marked with Beloved Identity.
Continuing our Beloved Identity series, tonight Tim Maxwell takes us deeper into understanding the lineage we carry as Christians and what that Beloved relationship looks one with God and one with another.
