Jose Rizal has left a mark in the hearts of the Filipino throughout history. He had two novels inspired from the life of Filipino's in the times when the Spaniards oppressed Filipino's, these are: Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. He expressed his "Pagkamakabayan" or Patriotism in his writing. He used his words instead of violence in fighting against the Spanish colonizers. He also said "Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan" or "The youth is the hope of the nation", but the real question everyone is saying today, how is the youth the hope of today if they become worse each day. What would Jose Rizal say if he was alive today, to the youth.
In the world, what brings us altogether is food. Foods bring pride and glory to our culture and our country. As centuries go by our foods become more identical due to globalization. In history, the Philippines and United States of America had a fair share of influence in each culture.
