Jose Rizal has left a mark in the hearts of the Filipino throughout history. He had two novels inspired from the life of Filipino's in the times when the Spaniards oppressed Filipino's, these are: Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. He expressed his "Pagkamakabayan" or Patriotism in his writing. He used his words instead of violence in fighting against the Spanish colonizers.
