Here's a fun fact! I was valedictorian in elementary and was asked to deliver a speech. Unfortunately, I didn't have any photos or videos from that day and the speech I delivered was written for me. Fast forward to x years later; I was invited to be a guest speaker to a graduating class. This is such a major milestone and a chance to redeem my speech for graduation. I wrote my own speech and delivered it in front of hundreds of people. Surreal would be an understatement.
If you're starting out on your public speaking journey or would want to ace your next class presentation or board meeting; this episode is for you. I want to share how I've prepared for my speech with 5 strategies so that you can deliver your speech creatively and confidently.

This is day 4 of my quarantine. Learned a thing or two about nouns and verbs. And how we should let go of nouns and do the verb Do you identify with a title before you do the work or is it the other way around? If you are an artist and you decided to become a writer; then does that make you an artist still or now a writer? Titles/Nouns can be restricting so ditch them and do the work. At some point, you will be identified as who you become, what you’re good at without the constant pursuit of validation.

Being back in Manila, I am treated to a majestic view of Ortigas with the amazing sunset gazing in my window the moment the clock strikes 6.
I am savoring the isolation and built a bliss station. Austin Kleon said that a bliss station isn't only a corner or a place, but it could be your sacred time.
Build yours and immerse yourself in your creative pursuit.
This is my 3rd day of Quarantine and I have the world spinning in spiral right before my eyes ( or at least the lanes and crowded roads of Manila )
I've been reading "Keep Going" by Austin Kleon. What would you do if you were stuck in one place, and every day was exactly the same, and nothing you did matter?"
A burning question I explored in this episode.
I am back and stronger than a 90s trend ( quoting from Taylor Swift ). Starting out a new series to document my 10-day quarantine in Manila. It's raw, unapologetic, and a creative outburst that stems from isolation.
Silence and solitude are crucial. And I'm making the most of my stay to rediscover and reconnect to myself.

Are you an artist or are you a content creator? A common question often received with scrutiny.

New PODCAST ALERT! Art and mental health with @jweenyg
This week, we interviewed Jweeny on @thoughtbubblewithj podcast and it was incredible. It’s probably one of those EPs which really pulled my heartstrings
We covered:
Art as a creative way towards healing
Navigating through grief
Creating a community to acknowledge the stigma and help those who may be going through a difficult time.
Specifically, what I loved most about this episode was that Jweeny opened up her heart and courageously spoken about her battle with anxiety.
Studies have shown that expressing themselves through art can help people with depression, anxiety, or cancer, too. And doing so has been linked to improved memory, reasoning, and resiliency.
I can’t wait for you to hear it.

Sound's like a banner of a self help book. But interestingly, how do you make decisions? Do you follow a framework? Is there even a formula to make concrete, effective decisions? Or are we tied up to our past failures which prevents us from living our best life and having the freedome to make decisions?

I used to be a good sleeper. I could spend 10 hours or more in bed and with great ease. The past year caused a major shift in my sleeping routine and the pandemic has definitely cost us our much needed shut-eye.
There are a ton of self help list out there telling you what to do or how to get a good night sleep. But I still stuggled with sleep. So I thought of coming up with my own list which I believe simple, accessible and one that you can commit to.
Listen in and let me know what you think. Let's engage and chat ( hours before your bed time of course )

Happy New Year. New set of resolutions yet, same dreaded question - "what is your purpose? " Jhesy is back for Season 3 on Thought Bubble with J and for the pilot episode, she wants to kick start the year by throwing in the question most of us are still having a hard time finding answer to. Does passion equate purpose? Do you only have one purpose in life? One passion? Or does it change as you evolve, as you grow and from season to season?

In today’s episode of Sunday Selah, Jhesy talks about feeling lost and uncertain after a tragic loss. Determined to pursue the calling and purpose God has created for her, she decides to follow her curiosities and explore everything that she’s drawn to. This episode is a reminder that there is beauty in aching. You don't need to have it all figured out but trust that God has a breakthrough planned for you after each breaking. Trusting His heart, pursuing our passion and letting go of our fears will lead us to the life that God has purposely created us for.
Bitterness can start small. When we harbor ill-feelings toward someone, a place or an event; it can pile up and lead us to resentment. We recount every detail. We enlist supporters and we seek for any available listener. How can we overcome bitterness? Resentment? How can we prevent bitterness from moving into our hearts? How can we deal with our feelings instead of letting them grow into bitterness? On this episode, we dig deep to the root cause of resentment and ways we can navigate through it. Self love should not enable you to be selfish but rather allow you to be self less. Light up. Be part of the people who support change and work for the better. The world needs you. You are needed. Don’t ever shrink yourself into thinking you’re insignificant. There’s so much to live for. And though everything seems uncertain right now, we can hold on to the One who is true - God. I firmly believe that everyone has a story to tell. Stories are bridges which connect all of us like some invisible string leading to discovery about life, lessons and purpose. The stories woven as a result of time, experiences are what shape and transform us to be who we are now. The stories before our time serve as our guide map while traversing to life. And our stories, journeys will also be a map to someone else's journey. I SUFFER FROM ANXIETY. Anxiety is one of most prevalent mental health disorders, affecting millions of people. A condition that most people go through yet often disregard and not discussed publicly. This leads up to conditions such as depression, increased risk for suicide, disability and requirement of health services. On this episode, I share something I haven't fully discussed with a lot of people but one that I believe is necessary. That tightness in your chest, sudden onset of fear, cold sweats or thoughts that something bad is bound to happen - these are symptoms of ANXIETY. It's time to start a conversation about this. You are not alone on this journey and you shouldn't have to deal with this on your own. By acknowledging and understanding what you're going through, you will then realize that there are steps you can take to manage life and significantly improve how you manage these attacks.

I do love Sundays don’t you? I am becoming an ardent supporter of simple, slow living. With the chaos we’re all in, it is imperative that we look after our mental health and adapt self care practices that would protect our emotional, mental and spiritual being. This episode is personal to me. I am sharing a piece of myself through a poem. I am no writer but was inspired to write this a few minutes before recording. Hope that the words will resonate with you and inspire you. This is a message God placed in my heart while prepping for the podcast. I pray that whoever is listening, wherever you may be; this is to remind you that you are not alone.

What makes up a genuine human connection? Do we perceive ourselves as good listeners? Do we become so adaptive to technology that we become complacent to invest in genuine human connections? With the rise of pandemic, people have embraced a new way, braver way of living. We rely so much on virtual communication that being consistently attached to our phones have become lifeline for instant engagement.
On this episode, Jhesy shares her odd discovery about human connection and how this pandemic has somehow shifted her desire for interpersonal communication. Social media has its pros and cons depending on how we allow it to affect our values, behaviors and relationships. Snooping into someone else’s profiles/life and obsessively comparing them with ours can lead to feeling of distress, anxiety and envy. Certainly not a good feeling to have. Instead of focusing on your progress, accomplishments and being grateful for what we have, we dwell so much on the things we lack. This is serious because comparison doesn’t only steal our joy, it kills our creativity, inspiration and originality. What is Shiny Object Syndrome? How so refrain ourselves from engaging in a comparison game? Or still insisting to crawl back to the life we previously had? On this episode, I answer some of the thought bubbles my friends and I have been pondering on. Our sense of security, changing needs and how our moral values have shifted ( hopefully for the better). I talk about perspectives and how having a right one can change our outcomes.
