WITH GOD FOR OTHERS 1 CHURCH / 5 SITES / 7 SERVICES
We are a place where people of all different backgrounds can discover Christ, a community of spiritual transformation that seeks social justice for all.
Big Idea: Our spiritual transformation is primarily Gods work through the wind of the Holy Spirit.
Big Idea: The Holy Spirit shows us who Jesus really is. He makes us aware of Gods love for us and convicts us of sin and guides us.
Big Idea: The Holy Spirit leads us to God. It emboldens us to witness to Christ and gives us joy.
Big Idea: Jesus wants us to experience a peace born of prayer that precedes our action in the world.
Big Idea: In this passage a paralyzed man and his friends have an encounter of healing with Jesus who heals his body and forgives his sins. When we encounter Jesus he brings healing: the healing of our bodies (physically and mentally) and the healing of forgiveness (a healed relationship with God). This healing is a foretaste of coming transformation when our bodies are resurrected like Jesus own.
Big Idea: Friendship can enable us to flourish in our life with God and in the most essential areas of our life.
Big Idea: How do we choose joy in the middle of it all? God meets us in the middle of all our troubles. The very place of the deepest loss in our lives can be transformed, from a curse to a harvest of blessing. This brings a joy that changes everything!
Big Idea: Bathsheba and Davids inclusion in Jesuss family tree shows us that the sinned against and the sinner can be included in Gods family.
Big Idea: Rahabs inclusion in Jesuss family tree shows us that the outsider can be included and used in Gods redemptive work.
Big Idea: Like Elijah resilient people receive Gods gifts of sleep, food, exercise, and the touch of an angel, or fellow human being, and the whisper of God.
Big Idea: Like Elijah resilient people receive Gods gifts of sleep, food, exercise, and the touch of an angel, or fellow human being, and the whisper of God.
Big Idea: Like Moses, resilient people are willing to face suffering for God because they know they have an eternal reward with God.
Big Idea: Like Moses, resilient people are willing to face suffering for God because they know they have an eternal reward with God.
Big Idea: Like Abraham resilient people are able to persevere because they sense they are called by God.
Big Idea: Like Abraham resilient people are able to persevere because they sense they are called by God.
Big Idea: Essential to our faith is loving our neighbours as ourselves. Jesus commands us to love like he loves. This isnt easy. Thankfully, Jesus doesnt just show us how. He is our source. We love our neighbours with open eyes, open tables, and open hearts. Their story becomes our story.
Big Idea: In wonder and in weariness we feel small. When we feel small, we are invited to be alert to God and to be close to Jesus. But how do we do this? Jesus says gently to our souls: come to me, find rest in me, and learn from me. A rule of life helps us do this daily.
Big Idea: God enters into suffering alongside of us. God does not initiate suffering. God transforms it.
Big Idea: Problem/pain of silence, feeling alone and not being able to hear anything from God.
Big Idea: Christ is King, so we don't have to be. We get to live as a child of the King.
Big Idea: Because we have been raised with Christ, we are to clothe ourselves with kindness and love.
Big Idea: Since we have been raised with Christ, put to death, anger, slander and language that harms.
Big Idea: Jesus calls us to be deeply rooted in him, strong in faith and overflowing with thankfulness.
Big Idea: Jesuss resurrection means that everything in our lives will be redeemed and that life has meaning.
Big Idea: Jesus is the true vine through which we receive the life of God for us and the world.
Big Idea: Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through him.
Big Idea: Even when others mean us harm, we are a people who hear the voice of the Good Shepherd, leading us to safety. We are not just a people saved FROM something; we are also saved FOR something. Together were a good-shepherd-people welcoming others in.
Big Idea: Jesus is the light of the world that convicts us of sin and enables us to grow in Gods love and reflect the light.
Big Idea: We know we are feeding on the bread of ZOE because we experience peace and a love relationship with Christ.
Big Idea: As the Body of Christ (& temple) together we re-create Jesuss beautiful presence in the world.
Big Idea:As a faith-family Jesus wants us to be one. But we dont always get community and family right. We are a people who want what we want. These wants keep us in dis-unity and dis-harmony. Christ has modeled for us another way. Jesus prayed for us and taught us to go to the Father together in prayer. We dont have to do our faith-journey alone. In confession and prayer, we are empowered by the Spiritto BE ONEas a faith-family that is growing in love for God and for one another.
Big Idea: The love of the Father sings over his people with a love that delights, restores, and pursues. It is promised in the coming of a Saving One who would live among his people.
Big Idea: The starting place for bridging a divide is to see others in a new way; Philip in Samaria is a good role model for this.
Big Idea: We live meaningful lives when we live fearing God and remembering he sees all.
Big Idea: Trying to find meaning and satisfaction in success, money or status without God will prove meaningless.
Big Idea: Under the sun life will prove meaningless, only with God in view does life take on real meaning.
Big Idea: God is a generous giver of good gifts. And the Giver has created us to participate in the multiplication of those gifts.
Modern wells show us that Jesus is our living water our need for something greater than water.
Big Idea: When we are filled with the HolySpiritwe display the faith/faithfulness of Jesus.
Big Idea: When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we display the goodness and integrity of Jesus.
Big Idea:When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we experience internal peace as well as peace with others.
Big Idea: The fruit of the Spirit is organically and gradually produced in us by the Holy Spirit.
Big Idea: When Jesus Christ died on the cross he broke the power of sin, death and evil.
Big Idea: We overcome our anger through prayer, meditation and understanding what Christ has done for us.
Big Idea: Envy tortures us, but accepting Gods love and channeling it to others helps us overcome envy.
